I really enjoy this restaurant. I’ve had the bun cha gio & the pho with brisket & chicken. They were both super good! The brisket in the pho was to die for. They both had really good flavor. The golden rolls were okay. Great service, they brought it out to my car. Very cute patio and inside. It is a more expensive place, but it’s worth it to be organic and allergen free at times, in my opinion and be that good! Pro tip: order on toast not with other pickup companies unless you like paying an extra $10 per plate

What. The. Duck. The duck tasted amazing—but not only that—it was almost 2lbs of meat! It’s a pricy dish, but I got more-than-my-money’s worth, for sure! It was the most-generous duck portion I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant. The appetizer (mushroom trigon) was amazing, too. The staff were friendly & joyful, but not clingy. The atmosphere & decor are charming, and the restaurant was spotlessly clean and full of healthy plants. I love the place. The soup broth is delicious, and large-portioned.

Came here again after a year hiatus for no particular reason then it’s a little pricey. Had family in town and wanted to show off a great place for Pho, Vietnamese food, and tea. Service was lack luster especially with how few customers the place had, but we have experienced that there and around Richmond before. The appetizers and tea were good as before. When the entrees came out it was a different story. My husband ordered the Bo Kho Sai Gon - Beef Stew which says it’s Grass Fed Flank Steak stewed for 24h. So he’s thinking it’s going to be melt in your mouth beef. Instead he got a globular structure of tendon, cartilage, and beef hide. He’s not one to return food and a tried it and it was tough. I got our waiter and told him. He looked puzzled, even after showing him the glob, but said I’ll ask the chef. After 10 minutes he then brings out frozen cut brisket on a plate and said to put it in stew for a bit and it will melt and be better. Husband put it in and waited 10 min, still rock hard; the stew was cold. I asked the waiter to speak with the manager, return the soup, and take the meal preferably off the check since it was inedible. Waiter came back and said that he’s sorry he didn’t disclaim to us about that dish and many customers have said the same thing but they cannot take it off the check what so ever. That’s how it’s made here and the way it is. I said can I talk to the manager in person and waiter said unfortunately no. I also told him that on top of that my Pho had chunks of brisket fat, which I ate and meatballs that tasted like moth balls thus ruining my appetite. I said I’ll pay because I ate half but my husband did not touch it. The waiter said sorry can’t do anything. The bill came to $147! Yes I paid because we do not need police involved over a dispute. What poor customer service. What restaurant manager does not come out, take responsibility, and apologize or make it right so the customer comes back?! They have lost my business indefinitely and I hope that whomever goes there to think twice about what they serve you.

Maybe I have not had enough vegan food in Virginia but, this was the best vegan meal I have had in Virginia. Yes you are going to pay a little more but I promise you it is worth it. I couldn't even say no to their desserts.

Delicious with generous portions! Outside seating was comfortable with great service. Really enjoyed the cod bites. Great spot for sure.

Google
We have been there several times for lunch and dinner. Each visit was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food tastes amazing, is prepared perfectly, and very flavorful. The drinks are equally delicious and skillfully crafted. The Saigon Old Fashion has to be in my top 5 best drinks. The waiting staff are very knowledgeable about the food, friendly, warm, and inviting each time we have come to eat. I do have to give a shout out to our waitress from our most recent visit. Kaitlin was amazing, and really took the normal amazing experience to the next level for us. She was kind, friendly, and her warm personality really lifted the experience. Her drink, food, and dessert recommendations were very helpful as well. I was torn at each step between choosing one of two items, and each time her recommendation was spot on. I would give 6 stars for her if they would let me on here.

Had a great experience dining here for lunch with some friends. The egg coffee is absolutely amazing!!! I really enjoyed the pho dish that I had and my friends really enjoyed their entrees. The service was very good, our waiter was extremely polite. I highly recommend if you want to try something new and healthy! It is a bit expensive but the food was pretty high quality and flavorful. One of my friends is gluten intolerant and vegan and the menu had a lot of options that catered to her dietary needs. We will be back again soon!

OMG! In Richmond for the night and ordered take out delivered to my hotel. If I could give this a Michelin Star, I would. This was such an innovated , original , and delicious party in my mouth meal. I’m sad that I won’t get back here for a long time to enjoy this food again. Shrimp skewer, lemon grass turmeric tofu with an egg on top, brown rice spring rolls, potato pie, all amazing! Bravo!!

Yelp
A few takeaways from visiting Richmond are that the city is underrated and the food is way better than I could have ever expected! Sen Organic was no exception. I really strongly suggest ordering the Potato Pie, which was crispy and flavorful. The grilled mushroom roll was also such a treat. The pho was also exceptional. I did have to take the cilantro out because I am not a fan (don't judge me it's genetics), but it was otherwise so full of flavor. They really stuff the pho full of delicious vegetables and seasoning, I was so impressed. It's also just a nice vibe and located right in the strip of fun activities. There are also great options for eaters of all ranges, from meat abstainers to meat enthusiasts. I recommend!

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I've had lately! Beware, the prices are pricy, but over all worth it. And it's in Carytown so you're paying, partially, for atmosphere and vibes but also for all organic food. They have so many vegan options and we got most of them. The crispy fried tofu was, predictably, my favorite, but the crispy golden rolls, potato pie, fried cauliflower, and vegan sen bún hue were all wonderful. Try the beet wine sauce! It's very different and it's delicious. Our waitress was great and warned us that the vegan soup had some realistic vegan meat in it, which was a very useful warning (could've fooled us) We loved everything except the desserts.

Loc T.

Yelp
Food was okay and not authentic Viet food thats what i was looking for. Meat very dray and soups not that flavorful. Service was normal. The decor was very nice tho.

Yelp
Went out with a group of 5 last night. Our initial plan was Pho Luca, but they had about an hour long wait. I've driven down this street hundreds (probably thousands) of times and never really paid attention to the close by Sen, but one of the girls in our group had been before and recommended we pop over to see if we could get seated here. They only had outdoor available and it was pretty cold out so we were hesitant, but they were kind enough to move around the heaters to make us more comfortable, which was super appreciated. Their menu is honestly a LOT. Lots of words, lots of sections, lot of text. I can definitely see how it could be overwhelming to someone. I tried to just focus on the pho/soups section. They also have desserts and bahn mi, and noodles, and entrees like salmon and chicken. All of us got the brisket pho. I'm. it even gonna lie - I was taken aback by the pho being $27. I've tried a lot of pho spots over the last 10-15 years and have never experienced prices this steep. I know it's because they're organic and all, but WHEW. Some of the special offerings were upwards of $50 and $85. The serving size was huge (s/o to our servers muscles!) and they certainly don't skimp out of noodles or meat. The broth was tasty and beefy, but not as rich/fatty as I'd have liked it. They give you plenty scallions and onions which I LOVE, as well as your usual sides of basil, limes, bean sprouts and jalapeños. They gave the tiniest slivers of jalapeños, but there was a delicious, spicy red sauce that I ended up using all of. Our server was Rachel. Very attentive and gave us menu recommendations and checked on us regularly. Sen has absolutely gorgeous glassware and gold cutlery. I was so pleased when it was time to pack up our leftovers and she brought out gold ladles. (The worst is trying to dump your pho into a quart container and spilling it everywhere.) Because we were a group of 5, an auto-gratuity of 20% was added to the bill. They also do not allow the check to be split more than 2 ways, so definitely keep that in mind if you go with a group. Our bill was about $250. I'd definitely back for a special occasion, but I'm a student so this definitely couldn't be the place I go every time I'm craving pho.

Yelp
The interior is very aesthetic! When it is warm out, they open the windows and you can enjoy your meal alongside Carytown. I actually really like the food that I ordered (contemporary Vietnamese). The Bun Cha Gio is a refreshing bowl full of veggies, noodles and your choice of protein. Their food tastes really fresh. I also really like how there is a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. The only thing is that it is a bit overpriced, but it isn't much of a shock as it is a restaurant located in a prime area in Carytown. Service was wonderful. Also, I saw that they had egg coffee so I definitely want to try that next time as the last time I had egg coffee was when I visited Vietnam and I haven't seen it sold in any other Vietnamese restaurants in Richmond.

Yelp
My friends and I spontaneously stopped in for an early Sunday bite. It was so nice to sit on the outdoor patio. The menu is very large! Sifting through the cocktail options was actually pretty challenging! My friend's kumquat mimosa ($15) was really delightful. I liked by bluetini, too, but I liked how refreshing the other cocktail was. I got the Saigon banh mi to go. It was a notch above average, though I'm not sure I'd want to spend $18 for it in hindsight. The small potato pie is definitely worth getting and is easy to share. Our waitress was bubbly and hip - just like this spot!

Andrew D.

Yelp
Prices are downright absurd. Either their food cost is immense or they're trying to fix part of the business that isn't working. $27-$30 for a single lunch entree for what amounts to soup is insane. There must have been a recent change in menu price. Of the multiple times I've been here, it wasn't anything like this. You're paying for ambiance and overhead, not the food.

Yelp
Last weekend we had the pleasure of being in Richmond and decided to dine a bit out of our comfort zone. In this case we visited Sen Organic for Vietnamese/French cuisine. Reading the menu was a study in food culture. It provided so much information about the infusion of French in the Vietnamese food culture. We enjoyed a variety of teas (hot and cold), some spring rolls (yum!) as well as some amazing Pho. If you are looking for a relaxing, new dining experience, try San Organic.

Hieu H.

Yelp
If you were a Vietnamese person married to a non-Vietnamese person and their family was in town wanting to experience Vietnamese cuisine without a prior reference point, this would certainly be a great place. You would lovingly look on as your non-Vietnamese in-laws smile and tell you how delicious the Pho or Bun Chai Gio is, but deep down in your soul, a small part of your Vietnamese culture would be screaming out, "What is this? I don't taste any fish sauce in this Bun Chai Gio and why is this so bland?" But then you and your party would no doubt enjoy the hipster-ish vibe and say you had a great time. Now, if you were me, a Vietnamese person who was born in Vietnam and had your mom and spouse as your dinner companions, then you would be sitting there listening to your mom say, "What kind of food is this?" and you would reply, "It's Vietnamese food, ma." Then she would look back at you completely puzzled and say, "Are you sure?" At least your paper place mats give you an adequate education on what Vietnamese food is, because you won't get it with the food.

Kristen L.

Yelp
Friendly staff who are very accommodating especially if you need access to wifi. Fresh, flavorful and well seasoned food. Can't wait to return to try more of their offerings.

Amber R.

Yelp
The food is great. The service is another story. My party of 6 came in and was told the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. What they didn't say was the doors close at 9:45 and we would be kicked out. Literally. To add insult to injury they added 20% gratuity even though I informed the manager the server was rude. Otherwise, this place would be great.

Connie T.

Yelp
The prices are hard to overlook, especially when service is lacking. You're paying for gluten-free, non-GMO, organic, etc. labels and the Carytown vibe so if those aren't a priority, I highly recommend going to a traditional Vietnamese restaurant where you will pay 2-3 times less and leave satisfied. Indoor seating is very limited. We sat outside right next to the space heaters although we couldn't feel them so dress accordingly. There are 5 different menus to sort through. I got the brisket and meatball pho ($25) and 2 hard seltzers. The brisket was cooked well. I wasn't a fan of the meatballs. My friend got the chicken pho ($20) and fresh spring rolls ($9). The chicken was overcooked. The noodle portion was small in both bowls. We spent over $90 with tax and tip, which I can't justify for Vietnamese food in Richmond.

Sharvani M.

Yelp
Would not come here again. Overpriced and lacks flavor. I got the tofu rice bowl and was disappointed in the portion size. My partner got the pho and said it had no flavor at all. It looks like Sen Organic's specialty is having organic, "healthy" and "natural" options for Asian food, but the food lacks excitement. We spent nearly $60 for only two basic dishes. The only upside and extra star is for the ambiance and outdoor aesthetic for warm weather dining.

Trevor B.

Yelp
We, of course, checked out the menu ahead of time and were intrigued. The restaurant is a quaint little place that is reminiscent of places I've frequented overseas. The day we visited was nice enough to sit outdoors. The inside looked small, but welcoming and the outdoor space provided atmosphere while remaining connected to Cary St. The food provided a wide range of flavor. We let the restaurant's name deceive us a bit because not every dish is a small plate. We gladly took our leftovers to go and look forward to our next visit when I absolutely intend to give the Pho a try.

Jahmelia B.

Yelp
I've been walking past this restaurant for months now. My curiosity finally got the best of me and I decided to give it a try. Here's what I loved: -the decor was very charming and it felt like I was somewhere else besides Carytown. The inside seating is limited and has a few cozy little nooks. The outdoor area has tons of natural light, heating lamps and some bamboo seats -The Vietnamese coffee was delicious! -the pho broth was good Here's what I didn't care for: -This restaurant is located on Cary street so naturally finding a place to park is going to be a challenge -the tea menu is overwhelming! They have soooo many teas to choose from it's like it's own menu -there is no public restroom. Not sure if that means patrons can't use the restroom or if they just don't have one but thought I'd mention it -you can only split the bill 2 ways. So if you need to split it more then that come prepared to do a little venmoing. -the food is pretty costly compared to its competitors Overall I did enjoy my dining experience and I'm glad I got a chance to to try this place.

Moo L.

Yelp
Pho for $25 to me feels pretty uncomfortable. I've NEVER paid this much for a bowl of pho however the experience at sen organic is also an experience you can't find anywhere else in Richmond .. maybe even Virginia. If you're looking for a solid bowl of warm pho on a rainy day, this is not what you are looking for. If you want a unique experience, complete w fine silverware, hippie lights and jazz music vibes instead of cai luon or paris by night on in the background - come to sen! I got the bun bo hue which was good. The broth was 9/10 but the noodle texture 5/10. Meat 8/10. Side veggies 3/10- this was sad to me bc the garnish was lettuce instead of the assortment of cabbage/ cilantro/onions/mint etc The coffee is good but also very pricey, the presentation and flavor are both stellar! overall: very original concept and their commitment to preserving Vietnamese history demonstrated in details throughout the restaurant is exceptional. Pricey but one of a kind for sure!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Disappointed after such glowing reviews. The salmon was overcooked/dry and overseasoned, the chicken curry was described as a coconut-based curry but looked like a soup and that hand-cut chicken was apparently cut with the goal of putting all of the edges in? The shrimp was just fine. The vegetable rolls were good and the Sen Fries was a surprising delight. Maybe if you know what to order you'll do better than we did? Our server couldn't answer any of our questions about the menu and ingredients and we had to prompt her to go ask anyone else so we gave up on that quickly. When I asked if I'd been given the wrong dish (my soup when I ordered curry) she shrugged and I know she won't inform future diners. The space is magnificent! But way too many misses and too few hits on the food.

Rita P.

Yelp
You need to come here. Sit on the patio in the shade, kick back, enjoy the relaxing music, and order one of their fantastic mocktails/cocktails. Everything is so fresh and clean... we felt full & content leaving. So many healthy options with big portions. It's pricey compared to other Vietnamese spots but you get what you pay for. Just an absolutely wonderful oasis.

Jessica G.

Yelp
The mock tails were good but in general felt like the food was missing some salt or acid. Just a little bland tasting for the price or the entrees. Overall it was a decent meal but wouldn't make my way back TBH.

Steffani F.

Yelp
As a visitor, I was unimpressed by Sen Organic. The vibe seems cool when you walk up but we didn't have a good experience with the staff. We had already ordered wine so we had a few sips and moved on.

Linda P.

Yelp
LOVE this place! The food is organic, grass fed, filling, and delicious! Presentation is 10/10 totally instagrammable except it smelled so good we inhaled it so fast! Many places dilute their fish sauce but this place is the real deal! We ordered the banh mi, and bun. Although on the pricey side it was definitely worth! Staff was so friendly and kind, accommodating to our 4 children. Outdoor seating was cute although hot we didn't mind since they had umbrellas everywhere. Perfect for a family outing, date day, and people watching!

Joy G.

Yelp
Food still delicious. They are more careful on the allergies. I chipped a tooth on rock hard salt there last year which led to a whole Dental experience throughout 2022. I just ordered a to go calamari which was good -but almost half of what you usually get when you go inside so...go?

Valerie Y.

Yelp
Sen Organic has always caught my eye when I'm walking around in Carytown, so I'm glad I finally got to give it a try. Upon arrival, we were asked whether we prefer indoor or outdoor seating - nice that they let you choose! We chose indoor seating and were given a counter next to a window, which was alright... except for the number of flies that were around the window. They bothered us for the entire meal :( would not recommend sitting at that location. We ordered the Organic Potato Pie and the Special Pho. It was honestly kind of hard to read their menu, which consists of multiple pages on the phone. It's very cramped, so I'd suggest just looking at the menu online before you come or asking for a paper copy. The Potato Pie was very good, and it was kind of like fried mashed potatoes! I also loved the sauce that it came with. The Special Pho was pretty good as well, but honestly not worth the price. You can get a good bowl of pho at any Vietnamese pho restaurant for the same quantity and quality at a much lower price. I will admit that having egg in the soup is a game-changer, but aside from that, it did not taste any different. We also ordered the Blackberry Lavender Twist as our drink, but it was also not worth the price - the glass it comes in is very very small! So, 1/3 of our items were good and the others were just okay. I think Sen is a good place to try out, but not somewhere I'd come back to due to the priciness. However, it has great vibes and they have creative dishes.

George M.

Yelp
The restaurant has an enjoyable vibe. I sat outside and liked being near the misting spray on a hot day. The menu has a lot of options but not everything was available as I found out with the Chanh Muoi salty lemonade, although the agave was a nice non-alcoholic second choice. I ordered the Banh Mi Sai Gon. The bread was nice and crispy and the presentation was pleasant but the pork belly was undercooked and I didn't dare finish it. The pate tasted fine though. Service was friendly and accommodating. Prices on the whole are expensive--not what you'd expect to pay for Vietnamese street food. I'd give it another chance if back in town, but would try the Pho or Spring Rolls. And did I mention nearly everything on the menu is "organic?"

Kathleen D.

Yelp
Sen is a Carytown restaurant that I had driven by dozens of times and always thought the facade looked welcoming. I was excited to finally try it for the first time last weekend when a friend suggested it for lunch. On arrival, we had our temperatures checked and then were guided to a four top outside in their open-air tent near a heater. They have indoor seating available too but it looked more spread out in the patio. It was in the 40s out, so we all kept our coats on. Fair warning that it was still pretty chilly nonetheless, but we survived with warm drinks and pho. I ordered the happiness is blooming tea, which arrived with an actual blooming flower in it. So neat -- and tasty too once it cooled off enough to drink. For my meal, I ordered the brisket only pho, as did one of my friends. Another friend ordered the vegan pho, and the other ordered a bahn mi with chicken. Our pho arrived warm with lots of additions on the side to include. I think my favorite part was the broth, but the brisket was pretty good too. Our server was friendly and prompt, and we had the option to pay online. Hand sanitizer was also available upon exit. I'd say they're taking more covid precautions than most, so that was great to see.

Hasti M.

Yelp
I've been meaning to visit Sen for the longest time, and decided to celebrate my boyfriend's new job here. Both our drinks were very tasty and unique although expensive ($10 and $17) We both got the Bun cha Gio (with tofu and pork). The pork was excellent and the best I've ever had. I highly recommend it. We had a wonderful night, the ambience is chill yet romantic, and the outdoor decoration is the cutest. Keep in mind that it's pricy. Great for a night of celebration, but not really your carytown causal place.

Connie M.

Yelp
Sen organic is a favorite of ours, they have good food, excellent service and several vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The Sen fries our my favorite item on the menu and I order them every time. Definitely worth a visit when in Richmond.

Evita A.

Yelp
The food was perfect, we had an appetizer of battered veggies that was a perfect start to the meal. Our waiter Duncan was very kind and helpful. He smiled the whole time. The place was beautiful and welcoming.

Jacqueline O.

Yelp
My friend was super excited about this place. our server/hosted Rachel was amazing. We ordered several things and it was all good until we ordered the octopus. It was so over cooked, hardly an edible, we told the waitress and she said the manager said there's no food refund. We asked to speak to the manager and asked if we could substitute it for something else, his response was we can't give you food for free. We felt offended. The manager was disrespectful in saying that comment. We didn't come here to ask for free food. He left our table and we asked for our food to be packaged to give to someone else, the manager said it was partially thrown away. wow just wow.

John K.

Yelp
Great, high quality food! A tad expensive but the wife loves this place and I couldn't say a single bad thing about anything I ever had here. Service is great too

Christian F.

Yelp
If you're ever in Richmond and looking for some incredible Vietnamese food, you have to try Sen! It's one of my favorite spots in Carytown. The environment is amazing, both indoors and outdoors. They have a great patio area that's perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. The food is very authentic and delicious. I always recommend their phở with either chicken or beef. It's so flavorful and satisfying. But, my top recommendation is definitely the Sen Fries. Yes, it's literally fried lotus flower, and it's amazing! You have to try it to believe it. They also have a great tea and mocktail menu. Their mocktails are perfect for anyone who wants a fancy drink, but is underage or just wants to forgo the alcohol. Their coffee (or Cà Phê) options are incredible. If you haven't had the chance to try Vietnamese coffee, this is the place to go. For a traditional style, go for the Cà Phê Sữa (kah feh soo-uh) which is Vietnamese drip coffee with sweetened condensed milk (don't forget to stir it in). If you're looking for a very unique, traditional, dessert-style coffee, ask for the Hà Nội Cà Phê Trứng (hah noy kah feh troong) or Vietnamese Egg Coffee. This Vietnamese specialty is a delicious treat and experience you won't forget. I love bringing people to Sen to experience Richmond and Carytown, and a truly authentic Vietnamese restaurant.

Morgan S.

Yelp
The food here is so good! The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because it's incredibly overpriced. $17 for pho and banh mi, and $9 for 2 roll apps is too steep. We live in DC and this place was more expensive than our go to vegan Vietnamese restaurants there. We ordered the golden rolls, vegan pho, and vegan banh mi and all were really good. Plus the date cheesecake for dessert!

Marie R.

Yelp
We were so fortunate to have Sen cater our event. Having multiple people in our party with food issues, it was wonderful to feature delicious food that everyone could eat. Owner and staff were enthusiastic and helpful throughout. Guests are still raving about the Grandma-style tofu, roasted vegetables, and arugula quinoa salad! A truly excellent meal.

Yelp
[Coronavirus review] I've already been tagging reviews to indicate that things are different during the pandemic and trying to explain how businesses are operating, but in this case, I ate here, my first experience of actually sitting at a restaurant and eating in months, as windows were being boarded up throughout the neighborhood with signs begging people not to destroy local businesses. So while I can't guarantee this restaurant will be there tomorrow, I ate there and I'm going to review it. And I'll tell you what: if any other local restaurant owners need a template of how to run a restaurant during this era, this would be it. They had scannable codes for your phone to view your menu and pay your check as you sit in their ample outdoor seating, delivering an open-air, low-contact experience. On top of that, the menu was pretty amazing. Creative and varied, with ample vegan options. I had an appetizer of fried lotus root slices with a few pieces of okra; nothing against the lotus, but the okra was fantastic and I'm not used to seeing okra at Vietnamese restaurants. More of that please. The more conventional vegan pho I ordered was also impressive, bearing a variety of fake meat proteins and vegetables, flavorful to start but with a side of serious hot sauce. The plate of garnishes included what tasted like mint leaves that had been picked (normally the first minute or two of eating Vietnamese involves picking the leaves off the stem). I added something fresh and fruity off of an ample beverage menu. Pricier than your average Vietnamese for sure, but I had no trouble seeing where the money went. I could hardly have asked for more out of my first post-lockdown restaurant experience than to sit outside and enjoy intriguing cuisine from a smoothly running business on a beautiful day. I'm not local, but maybe I'll find my way back.

Yelp
Wowowowow such a cool place with amazing food and a great concept! I was in town for work and didn't realize that Carytown was the place to be with all the cute restaurants until my last night in town. Going towards dinner time I already knew I was craving a nice bowl of pho and that's how I came upon Sen Organic. I made the trip over around 5pm on a Thursday night and got a table for one on the patio next to a little butternut squash still growing on its vine (so cute!). Just from browsing the menu online I already kind of knew what I wanted to eat, but I also wanted to take my time so I started with a nice cup of tea, chai turmeric, which was good but a little dilute for my taste. Next I ordered the roasted veggie Brie and wow was that amazing! It came out nice and hot and melty in a cast iron pan with some crispy carrots and some sort of dipping chip on the side. It's a lot of cheese for one person and there was no way I could finish it all, especially before it got cold, but the half-ish that o did enjoy was amazing. Next was my Veggie Pho which came out in a giant bowl (almost making it worth the $20 price tag!) the soup was amazing, very flavorful and lots of add-ins available to elevate it including these soy curls and something else which I was initially afraid was real beef but turned out to be soy chop. Overall I had a great experience here, the prices a bit steep, but I love the organic concept and how many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free healthy choices there were! I am hoping to come back to RVA for work again and try even more delicious meals from this menu!

Yelp
Can't believe I've lived a block away from this amazing place for so long and haven't tried it until now! Wow, absolutely amazing food! Went on a Sunday afternoon with a girlfriend who loves this place and has been telling me about it for a long time. I'm so glad I finally tried it! She's vegan, I am not, but there are so many different options for both of our nutritional wants and needs! We shared the vegan potato pie with pesto and I ordered the chicken tartlet; both as appetizers and they were out of this world delicious! I would come back just to eat those 2 selections again. You really can't go wrong with anything you order but I highly suggest those 2! Their decor, music and atmosphere is very laid back, relaxed and perfect for an afternoon lunch. They also have a ton of different loose tea at the front you can order to-go and a cute selection of little lamps, cups, tea pots, etc. for purchase in the front too! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The $18 Bahn mi is not even half as good as a $5 one we got from falls church : we ordered both pork Bahn mi and chicken Bahn mi, both do not have much flavor and the meat is dry and chewy! The outside paper of golden rolls is thick. They impose 20% tip for 5 people, even though they poured a whole glass water to make you wet! Grilled pork is just so so but cost almost$30. We also ordered some other dishes. They are so pricy for this quality and flavors! Do not recommend!

Yelp
This used to be a favorite. Quality for price used to hit the mark however the prices have continued to soar while portion and quality has decreased. Our once weekly visits are now non-existent.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in Carytown. The food is so healthy and delicious. *Chef Kiss* The ambience is really peaceful and chill. If I didn't know better, I could have easily pretended to be in a swanky little hideaway in Southern Cali. The food combo I had was mouth-watering - crisp, sea-salted baked zucchini, carrot and eggplant fries with a savory pot-pie like dish that contained chicken, onions, spinach and cheese. Whew! I left very happy. And, I forgot to mention the different assortments of tea available for consumption and purchase.

Yelp
Everything was so flavorful with every bite. The artichokes were crispy and not greasy and the berry wine dipping sauce had just enough heat. Spring rolls were delicious and complex. The bread for both sandwiches were just the right amount of texture and crunch and the pork belly was tender and not fatty. We really loved everything we had.

Yelp
Sen Organic is as delicious as always! In terms of quality, it is just as good as it was when I wrote my initial review. Also, as a person at increased risk for COVID, I felt extremely safe dining here. I really appreciated the fact that they took our temperatures before we were even seated on the patio. I also saw staff members sanitizing the tables. All of the extra measures they took made me feel much more at ease. Highly recommend for a delicious (and safe) dining experience!

Yelp
A cute little restaurant on Cary St. We were lucky to get indoor seating for lunch but they have a nice outdoor patio area. I had the Buddha bowl with the mushroom and it was large and delicious for $17 plus $3 for mushroom. Nice information on the placemat while we were waiting.

Yelp
Been here twice, food is definitely pricy for Vietnamese food but I always believed Vietnamese food was underpriced for what its worth. In any case had the vegetarian bun bo hue and the vegetarian soup flavor was spot on with what my mom would make it home - incredibly surprised. Flavor was authentic/clean and the ingredients were fresh. Would highly recommend for the veg bbh alone if nothing else (I haven't tried the pho but I do shy away from pho at non-pho specific places).

Yelp
Delicious, delicately prepared fusion Vietnamese food. The organic drinks are unique. The place looks like a plant nursery from the street, but walking in you see it's a beautiful restaurant.

Yelp
First time at this spot. Very long wait for food and drinks (45 minute for a drink, well over an hour for food), especially considering it was a week night. Ambiance is nice, very cute and wait staff very nice. Lots of food options and great presentation- loved the crispy tofu and chicken Buddha bowl. Flavors are awesome.

Yelp
Sen Organic does so many things so so right! Ambiance? Check. Attentive and kind service? Check. Plates, cutlery, and cups like it was a movie set? Check. Sen and its chain of businesses in the Carytown neighborhood is undoubtedly an institution. We had the Sen fries appetizer, Bun Hue Soup, Bho Kho Stew, and for dessert the Dark Chocolate cashew tart with a Matcha Latte and Chai. The fries were fun, the Bun Hue smooth and slightly sweet. The beef in the Bho Kho stew absolutely melts in your mouth. The Tart was cute. I'd return for the appetizers, tea, and dessert. The entrees, although a great experience and taste felt a little high on the price side.

Yelp
Went for lunch on our way to North Caroline. Overall, the food was good, atmosphere was nice, bathroom was clean. I order the beef noodle and the meat tasted so so so good. As an Asian guy, I would give 12 out of 10 for the beef tender in the pho noodle. I also ordered a duck salad, which was okay. BTW, they also own a small grocery store near the restaurant

Yelp
Came with few friends for Friday dinner. We had fresh spring rolls ($7), SEN BÁNH MÌ (BÂN MÎ) ($12), Special Pho($18), and Master Pho($27). Fresh Spring Rolls: huge disappointment for such small rolls. Came out with 2 rolls. It says pork belly was supposedly be there but I didn't see nor taste any. There were 2-3 tiny shrimps with some veggies. The rice paper was too thick. Honestly, I can make better spring rolls than that. Definitely NOT worth $7. 1 out of 5! :( Sen Banh Mi: I got half tofu and mushrooms. The baguette was very crunchy and soft inside. But the banh mi as a whole was meh. There were maybe 2 tofus and mushrooms. It was so thin that it won't even fill the skinniest person on the earth (without the bread). 2 out of 5 Special Pho and Master Pho: The pho broth was essentially the same. It was very clear and not as heavy. The master pho broth had more meaty, and deeper taste. Both phos came with egg. I didn't like the egg because it made the broth unclear. The beef short ribs from master pho was very tender and fresh. Despite the good things about the broth and meat, I didn't think it was worth $18 and $27. NOT worth it. Pho is supposed to be street food in Vietnam, not some fancy expensive food. 2 out of 5 The place is relatively small, but has outside seating. The service was VERY slow. I was literally staring at the server to give me food that I ordered ~30-40 minutes ago. Also, they made the food price higher by putting buzz words like "organic," "small plates," "vegan," and "grass-fed." Honestly, how would I know if they are even organic when the kitchen is hidden in the back. They put "organic" in front of every word. Never going back.
