Senalala Safari Lodge

6 out of 5 stars! I think this was the best experience we could have had. There is literally nothing I could think of that wasn’t perfect. The transfer from the airport was already so nice because we got to see a lot of animals already and our driver Winter stopped every time for us to take a picture. When we arrived, Dawie, James and Sinead were waiting for us and welcomed us so warmly, we immediately felt home. The whole lodge was very tidy and neat and to us it was like an oasis of peace. We, as a family of four, got two rooms right next to each other which had everything we needed and were designed so beautifully. The beds were also very comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. Right in front of the rooms is the waterhole with a big terrace and an outside lounge which was amazing. From the waterhole we got to observe so many animals stopping by. Another highlight were the meals we all ate at a table together. That was such a good idea to get in touch with the others from all round the world. The meals were so diverse and always incredibly delicious and fresh. What we also really enjoyed was the limited number of guest of not more than 14 people at once. This made this experience feel so much more personal and showed us that Senalala really values quality over quantity. The game rides were wonderful, you could really feel the guides being passionate about their job and all the things you could see. They always made sure we were all happy and could see as many animals as possible without overstepping their boundaries which was really important to us. Every drive was a highlight! Moreover they were very open to answer all questions and I feel like I have learned so much about the national park and its habitants. But the guides were not only great at showing and explaining everything, they were also all such interesting, kind and heartfelt people. Talking to them has been such a pleasure and they really made this experience so special and memorable. We are complete flabbergasted and will definitely come back one day! We had a wonderful experience with our ranger. It’s amazing to see his passion he brought to every safari. We truly enjoyed each drive, and every time he managed to show us something new. ||Our gratitude also goes to the entire Senalala team, both those in the front and everyone working behind the scenes. Every detail was perfect: there was a warm welcome, the lodges were spotless, and the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were delicious. ||These are memories that will last a lifetime!

We spent 3 nights at Senalala and it was a wonderful stay! All the staff was very friendly and they made us feel like at home! The rooms are very nice, cool during the day and warm during the night and they are equipped with all the amenities you might need. Food was always very good! They also have a gym, so, if you want, you can exercise during your spare time between your morning game drive and the afternoon one. Game drives have been a wonderful experience for all of us, with our guide James we were always exited to leave the lodge to explore the South African bushveld! We have also been very lucky since we could spot all the Big 5 during our stay! We definitely recommend Senalala for your Safari in South Africa!!

We planned to make this review short and sweet but there is no way to paraphrase the experience we had at Senalala!|Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, and the staff was friendly and kind. The attention to detail in the rooms and common areas was impeccable. From the flowers placed on the bed, to the personalized welcome sign, there was something special at every turn. The family style meals ensured the guests could interact on a regular basis which resulted in new friends and good conversation. Being able to observe the animals right off the deck at the watering hole was so exciting. We could not wait to see what unique wildlife would show up next! The morning and evening game drives permitted enough time during our stay to see many magnificent animals! We felt so privileged to be allowed into their space. James our guide was phenomenal! His love, knowledge, and respect for wildlife was evident with each drive. James went above and beyond to track and locate the animals and always made our crew feel safe. He shared some of the most beautiful locations with us during our coffee and sunset drink stops. James encouraged us to take in the moment for memories that will last us a lifetime!|The owners James and Corlia have created such a magical place! It's difficult to put into words how we've been affected by this experience. We just know that it will always hold a place in our hearts. Though we arrived as friends, we left as family. STAY HERE! I truly didn’t know what to expect when I and my husband arrived here. We pull up, I see three people standing there and I’m thinking why are these people standing outside? It was Corlia, James and David to greet us. The lodge is an oasis, serene and impeccable, just absolutely gorgeous as are the people who work here and seamlessly run the show every day. The food is very nourishing, clean, fresh and a wide variety of options, wine selection are plenty. Safari’s with David were magical every day, It’s addicting! He was so patient with my husband (as I’m sure he is with everyone), my husband is a questions guy and David patiently answered them all ;) We were so pleased with all the animals sightings. In all, this was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. I highly recommend Senalala Lodge, they make you feel comfortable, like lifelong friends, and everyone is equally respected. Good value for your money, You won’t regret it.

This was our third visit to Senalala and as before, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we were picked up at the airport until we left, our experience was perfect. Corlia and James have created the most wonderfully serene, luxurious and friendly camp with every possible amenity and luxury you can imagine. Food and drink is plentiful and varied and the staff work tirelessly to ensure you have a great time. The game drives with David were sensational; so informative, educational and peaceful with some fantastic animal sightings including 3 encounters with leopards! Special moment: when we arrived in camp, we peered through the reception area to be greeted at the waterhole by an elephant and giraffe, almost like they were waiting for us to arrive! We can't wait to return! Thank you to all the team at Senalala. You are all superstars!!

We had a great time at Senalala Lodge with our family in memory of our dad/grandpa. The staff was welcoming from the moment we arrived. They treated us like family and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was memorable and our dad was honored. The food was amazing and plentiful. The rooms were clean and the hospitality was top notch. Would 110% recommend this place to anyone visiting the Kruger area!

A sensational choice for our first safari: we had the most amazing 4 nights at Senalala and are already talking about our return to South Africa, built around another trip to this lodge of course. Being part of the Senalala family was an honour, they have some incredible staff who we loved spending time with and whose enthusiasm led us to understand the magic of a safari holiday. The warm welcome, communal eating, help yourself drinks and only 8 lodges onsite gives this lodge a lovely informal feeling, with the added benefits of a gym and pool to freely use. The open safari vehicles are spacious with a really handy storage box in the middle of each stepped row rather than squeezing in 3 people to each row. The guides were fabulous, their excitement at reports of the sighting of a pangolin was infectious (even though we bypassed rhinos to get there!) and we loved the thrill of the chase when tracking elusive animals. Sunrise and sunset whilst out in the bush were even enjoyed by our teenagers at each and every opportunity (no lie-ins here!). An unforgettable stay which way exceeded our expectations, I wish I was sat with a drink in hand watching animals at the local watering hole right now!
