Senator Puerto Plata Hotel

Excellent service. I will stay there again in August. The food is very good, the service is very good. The best of the mini club Blondy excellent. Take care of the children as they are their children with her I feel that my children are safe. Thank you for everything. If they have to change it's something and it's that the children can't be in the pool where the bar is. It's very uncomfortable to look for drinks and many children there with their parents

Puerto Plata is a great place to visit with family and children. However, be careful when choosing the resort and accomodations you are looking for for a well deserved vacation. I have been to Punta Cana & Mexico several times and this has been the worst resort I have been to so far. They claim themselves to be a 5 stars resort which I DO NOT AGREE. The air conditioning maintenance is very poor in all units. We were changed once and the second room was the same. Customer service is average. The lady at the front desk was very rude to my husband when we complained for the 3rd time about air conditioning. The food was average. I truly believe they sell themselves as a 5 stars hotel but they are not. Paid for ocean view and I got partial ocean view. Refer to the photo. Owners should provide more maintenance and care. Will not be staying here never again.

Monkey was an excellent burst of energy, very fun, full of life. The pools are clean and spacious. Beach is not crowded at all, and chairs are easy to claim. Kind atmosphere from all workers. Clean space around the pool, fun events are held daily. Food is great with many options for everybody.

Great vacation spot, everything is super close together like the beach and volleyball court. The staff are amazing, especially Skynny and Blacky from the entertainment team, they both put in the work to make the stay more enjoyable. Definitely had a great time with them and would recommend getting to know the staff. Julio from the snack bar was also a dude who I would recommend meeting. Definitely recommend all the parties at night. The rooms are a bit on the older side but the staff and everything else make it worth it.

This resort is beautiful & the staff very friendly. The food was mediocre at best. The Japanese restaurant was fantastic, the Italian restaurant terrible. & the breakfast buffet, Steakhouse, & sports bar food was ok. But lunch & dinner buffet was barely edible. However, the advertising that they have 3 restaurants all inclusive is a bit misleading. You DO NOT get to eat there anytime. You have to make a reservation & you can only go to each of the 3 restaurants 1 time only. Otherwise, the buffet & sports bar is about it! I would go back just because of the property & staff.

The hotel is great! Rooms are OK....Main issue in the standard room is the size of the bathtub, which is very narrow. This hotel is more of like a hotel to relax than to party. The only action you'll see is when the locals come in for the weekend. You will notice the big difference when the locals are gone. The food was great, the pools are big enough and the beach has calm waters. It's definitely not a party hotel.

I stayed at Senator for a week in January and it was truly amazing from the reception to the room to the food the service and facilities. I highly recommend this place. They have the best entertainment team I have ever seen at any resort. The beach party is incredible with many surprises, definitely the best beach party in DR. I have been to many different resorts there. The foam party at the pool was next level. The team goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has the best time and feels welcome. The emcee Mosquito does a professional job and is very engaging. Overall a great time!

This is my second time coming to the resort the first time I met Skinny the head of entertainment he was fantastic! Very friendly he brought lots of energy everywhere he went! He keeps everyone involved! Skinny goes above and beyond for myself and my partner aswell! The second time we came he remembered us instantly! He is very personal and very funny he’s got a heart of gold! The resort is also located on a cove with lots of snorkelling aswell so definitely bring your gear!!! The beaches are beautiful and lots of room to sit and relax! The food is great they have some awesome fried chicken at the snack bar! The rooms are very nice and the beds are super comfortable! If you come to senator make sure you meet Skinny! Well I’m sure he’ll come say hi anyways!
