Great views! The trail opens at 05:00 and closes at 18:00. You can get to the top in 15-20 mins if you move fast, it will be a tough exercise though. If you want to go slow it's better to arrive very early, 05:00 probably is your choice. Don't forget to take a bottle of water with you. After watching the sunrise you can walk to the port and take a ferry to Udo island for a nice trip until the end of the day.

Nice place to hike, though it was a little tougher of a climb than what we had expected. Recommend dressing properly (ie sports shoes and active wear)! It’s a touristy area.

This place on Jeju Island feels like a scene from a movie. Towering cliffs disappearing into the clouds, emerald waters, and black volcanic rocks create a breathtaking landscape. The colors are so vivid it feels almost unreal — like stepping into a cinematic world. At the foot of the mountain, horses graze peacefully, adding a touch of serenity and charm. A walk along the shore, with waves gently crashing against the rocks, leaves unforgettable memories. It’s one of those places where you just want to pause, take it all in, and feel deeply connected to nature.

What a view of morning Sunrise. Be sure to check out the timing of sunrise. It takes about 15mins to hike up to the summit if you are fit. Plan to arrive at least 15mins before sunrise. Go to the further end (where you will descend later) to avoid the crowd and a better view.

Seongsan Ilchulbong Mountain, a scenic spot, and a sunrise view on Jeju Island. Walk to the top of the mountain for about 1km

The walk is a little bit challenging because it is entirely stairs all the way to the summit. The stairs are in good condition. When you arrive at the summit, there are many places to sit and rest. It can get very busy at times with large groups of people. The track is one way so you will not encounter people coming in the opposite direction. The view from the summit is nice and looks over the island below and out to sea. Also there is a large crater at the top that you can get a good impression of. Tickets are required to access, and there is a person at a booth, as well as automated ticket machines.

The hike was tiring, and the views leading up to the peak were great. However, I found the overall experience a bit underwhelming, as the views—while nice—weren't among the most spectacular I've encountered. The crater itself was the highlight, but the effort required didn’t seem to fully match the scenery.
