"Korean for mixed rice , the simple yet satisfying dish bibimbap was conceived as a way to use leftover side dishes before the New Year started. At locations in busy Myeongdong and Insadong, Gogung specializes in the Korean staple, serving it in a bowl of hot rice covered with seasoned vegetables and tangy gochujang (red chili paste). Diners can top the dish with a fried egg, sliced raw beef, or seafood, then mix all the ingredients together, adding their preferred amount of spice and seasoning. If you want to try Gogung’s signature dish, order the Jeonju Dolsot bibimbap , which comes in a sizzling stone bowl that nicely crisps the bottom layer of rice."

Nice service but mediocre bibimbap - I like that you press a button at the table and the waiter comes round. They don't bother you with - "is everything ok as in the Western restaurants". The bibimbap was on the small size and not as good as I had in other places, 3 of the 4 side dishes were dissapointing and they were a bit stingy on the kimchi portion. The beer was lovely and light..

Located on the southern end of Myeongdong they are well known for their bibimbap set meals along with the usual Korean bbq fare. huge establishment located on the second floor and frequented by locals and tour groups. affordable prices means they do attract a sizable crowd during the peak hours. that said quality is not compromised and the restaurant staff are observant enough to keep coming round to bbq your meat for you.

Popular here is “Korean BBQ Beef” , just a few choices for pork. Don’t recommend bibimbab, Bugogi is better in my view. The space is large comparing to others nearby.

slightly above average pricing. The barbecue beef quality is good. The restaurant is quite spacious and the service is good.

A legendary restaurant selling excellent bibimbap. It was a good last stop for our MyeongDong shopping trip. Definitely recommend, especially if you love bibimbap! We had the set with japchae (39000won) and there was too much food for the both of us, so worth the money too!

Nice ambience, but the bbq is a little expensive. Spent $200 for 3 people. Bibimbap price is reasonable.

Quality authentic Korean food served with pride. We had the bulgogi beef, seafood pancake and japchae for the both of us. Bill came up to be KRW70K. Huge servings. It does have a nicer ambience compared to its looks from the outside.

Had two versions of Bibimbap, which they were able to make vegetarian. Communication was easy in English. Several side dishes came with the mains, which was nice! All together 22,000 Won.
