On the Grid : Seoul Tofu House

"Seoul Tofu House is a recent discovery and we've enjoyed its classic Korean dishes including hot stone bibimbap and tofu soup—both, both which come to the table mouth-scorching hot. Crack a raw egg and watch it cook in seconds, just don't touch the bowl." - Shore

Came in for a quick lunch and left satisfied with the urge to come back for more. Everything was great during our visits, the atmosphere was bright and modern. The service and staff were super nice. The food was outstanding, and everything we ordered was delicious. Next time we want a nonchalant Korean food in Federal Way, I'll definitely think of Seoul Tofu House.

Throughout a handful of times I've been here, the service and food have been fantastic! The price went up by a few $$. The quality is still really good. The tofu soup comes with fried fish and rice hotpot. They don't skim out on the amount of tofu in the soup. The bulgogi is yummy - on the sweeter side. All menu items come with banchans that are sooo good that they even sell them. All banchans are homemade by them. My favorites were spicy squid and green namul. Service is pretty quick and the servers are super friendly. The Interior is modern and nice to invite family out for dinner. My mom loves coming here after a long flight. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm decors that makes you feel right at home. The decor strikes a perfect Korean traditional charm, setting the stage for an authentic meal. Every dish is bursting with rich, deep flavors that showcase true Korean culinary craftsmanship. From perfectly marinated BBQ to comforting stews and crisp, flavorful banchan, each bite is a delight. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the portions are generous. The staff here go above and beyond to make your experience exceptional—they're attentive, friendly, and always happy to offer recommendations. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean food or trying it for the first time, this place will leave a lasting impression. Highly recommend!

My sister and I enjoyed a great dinner at the Seoul Tofu House. She had a the fish roe tofu soup and the cold noodle and spicy pork combo. Great side dishes and fast service.

The tofu soup was really good! The side dishes were fantastic as well! We’ll definitely come back soon.

Initially, I was going to eat dumplings, but upon exiting out of the H Mart parking lot, I saw this restaurant and thought, “What the hell, why not?” Best last minute decision ever. I did not get the tofu stew, which was crazy considering “tofu” is literally in their name…but I ended up getting their Korean army stew and bro got the seafood stone pot bibimbap. It was soooo goooood. BUT, the main highlight honestly was the side dishes. Y’all…I’ve been eating Korean food since I was in diapers, and this place probably has top 3, if not the best, side dishes I’ve ever eaten. EVERYTHING tasted good. It’s so good, they have a side hustle selling their side dishes. I recommend giving this place a try!

Google
Very nice Korean Tofu house. If you like spicy tofu Soup this is the place to go. Medium spice is still a little on the spicy side. The Korean fried chicken could have been a little better, but overall a great experience.

Google
I have been here several times. Great soondoobu and great vegetable pancake. I especially love the special soy sauce they serve with pancake. Also the staff are so so kind making sure you are enjoying your food. And typically Korean restaurants are cold but it felt so good to be in a nice warm restaurant especially the weather being so cold.

Yelp
What a cute restaurant!! Came here to meet up with a friend and had wanted to try a new spot. We were seated immediately as we came for an early-ish dinner and there was plenty of seating. As the evening went on, the tables filled up. I ordered the Bibimbap (Korean Hot-Stone Rice Bowl) and I loved it! So flavorful and you could as much or as little spice as you want with the provided gochujang bottle. We also ordered Tteokbokki for the table and the spice was a pretty good level, but flavor was perfect. My friend ordered one of the special combos and my husband ordered the Korean Fried Chicken (half & half). The KFC had a unique flavor, in a good way! I've had KFC from other places but they made the dish their own. The banchans were also really good! The kimchi was my favorite (probably some of the best kimchi I've had), and I'm pretty sure they make it in house. The staff is SO friendly and checked up on us throughout the meal to make sure we had what we needed / if everything tasted okay. Upon takeout I also noticed that they sell their own Kimbap! I usually get my Kimbap from HMart but I would be down to try out theirs. Would highly recommend and will likely be back! I would love to try some of their other dishes, especially soup!

Yelp
Seoul Tofu House is very good but somewhat pricey. I got the Army Stew and thought it was great. It tasted delicious, and had a generous portion of ingredients inside. It's the best army stew I've tried so far. The meal came with complimentary banchan and hot tea, which I appreciated. The price is definitely on the higher side, but I was pretty happy with the food so I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
When you're in Federal Way, there's almost no escaping from the Korean food scene. Right across from Hmart is the Seoul tofu house. We were seated promptly and ordered the bibimbop, BBQ chicken and tofu. The banchan dishes were good. My favs were the tofu slices, fish, bean sprouts. The seaweed soup was good, so I was told. The food came out nice and hot. The tofu soup was boiling and the chicken plate was still sizzling. Service was good at first. They will refill the banchan only once. The place looked pretty clean and it became busier later on. All in all, pretty good experience.

Yelp
Amazing food and awesome service wow! And the atmosphere is amazing, I love the interior design! Not a single complaint :) will definitely be returning!!

Yelp
Located off of the main road with plenty of parking. Once you enter, you are greeted with the giant Jinro Frogs and cool decor. The staff is always super friendly and makes sure to check up on you throughout the meal. This place is our go to whenever we are craving Korean food and the food is always so good, we forget to take pictures. This time around, we got the Beef Kimchi Tofu Soup that comes with stone pot rice as well as banchan. The soup has a nice kick to it even when you order Mild. I've had the spiciest option for this soup and it actually gets pretty hot and spicy if you're really looking for that kick. We also got an order of their Original Fried Chicken Wing which does take a while to come out so just be aware of that. Even then, when it comes out, it comes out piping hot and has a nice crispy batter with a juicy inside. The batter for the skin definitely has some sort of seasoning that compliments the wings nicely.

Yelp
I was on my way to find a place that sells good "cold noddles" in the area and I think I found it you guys. 100/10 for food 10/10 for the service 10/10 for ambiance. Everything we ordered was so good. Even their banchans(side dishes) were delicious. I could just eat rice and their banchans only haha. I was so full my bf had to roll me to my car. Haha The lady who took our orders was so nice. She check in on us, offered more side dishes...we definitely gonna come back soon to try their "fried chicken with cheese"
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Hot dam this place coming in clutch with the traditional korean dishes. Banchans go harder than me at the end of NNN. Their stews and fried chicken weren't nothing crazy but still pretty solid. Def gotta give this place another try just for the vibes only. Vegan friendly for all you grass eaters out there! Bulk approved

Yelp
My absolute favorite place for soondubu! They are Always consistent with all of their dishes incl. the banchan. My go-to is the combo with beef tofu soup & spicy pork...so good & Always hits Just. Right. The staff are super friendly too!
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
I've been craving bibimbap and Korean food in general so we decided to check out this place! The entrance is wide and spacious. It has a very inviting vibe and the entire place is clean! We got seated right away and they waited sufficiently before asking for our orders. The beef tofu soup came first along with the banchan. My fave from the banchan was the tofu. The beef tofu soup came with rice cooked in the stone pot so the bottom is crispy! The beef tofu soup was good but I feel like it was a little bland. The short ribs and the bibimbap came next. The short ribs were delicious! The bibimbap was also delicious! The service was good and efficient. The staff came to check on us a few times and were friendly.

Yelp
Everything was great from the time we walked in to the time we were done with the food and ready to go. Staff and service was pretty fast knowing that everything is made fresh to order. Kim Chi & seafood pancake was well done, seafood tofu soup was yummy and there fried chicken is something you have to order. Good amounts of crispy and heat.
google avatar

Yelp
4.5 stars for food and service. Not too busy during Tuesday lunch time. Inside is not big, bur very clean. It's quieter than most Korean restaurants, especially with the chill vibe music playing in the background. Menu isn't big, but food is delicious. We got seafood pancake, and spicy pork/tofu soup combo to share between 2 people. Both spicy pork (well-seasoned + a little smokey = tasty) and spam & sausage tofu soup (4/5 spicy) are the right level of spicy.
google avatar

Lin S.

Yelp
The food was very delicious. The fried chicken were freshly fried and came out hot and crispy. The cold noodles were refreshing and flavorful. Both of the above we'd consider reordering. The army soup was ok and average.

Yelp
I had dinner here with some friends and it was phenomenal. Don't be fooled by the weird graphic on the door that looks like someone puking (what's up with that?) Going with friends is great because you can order a few different dishes and sample everything. If you come here solo or as a couple, you're going to have a lot of leftovers! Here's what we ordered: Kimchi Pancake, Kimchi and Beef Tofu Soup, BBQ Beef Short Ribs, Korean Cold Rice Bowl (bi-bim-bap.) We also got lots of little plates of banchan, of course. I was most excited for the soup and I was not disappointed. It arrived on the table literrally boiling. The pancake was salty and delicious in that "guilty pleasure" way that feels best when you know you are sharing it with friends. The kim chi was fabulous and, if you want more, they sell kim chi to go as well! Everything was tasty and filling and had me worried I'd never be able to eat again, but of course, I was looking forward to my leftovers for lunch the next day! The staff was friendly and helpful. I will note that they charge for leftover containers, and we needed a few - are we moving towards the era where we bring our own tupperwear out to dinner? If I remember, I might try that next time!

Yelp
This is a very clean restaurant. My toddler and I walked in, and we got seated right away. I ordered beef short ribs and pork dumpling soft tofu soup. The food came out quickly because the restaurant was not very busy at the time. The Banchan dishes were great, and the main dishes were delicious. The waitress did come by to check on us once. I will likely come back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
Great new gem in the area. Authentic Korean food with wonderful staff and services. Will definitely visit again next time going south.

Yelp
Since relocating down south of Seattle, I have been trying to find new Korean tofu restaurants and stumbled upon Seoul Tofu House located in Federal Way. The restaurant is located in a plaza that has free parking, as most place outside of Seattle do. It wasn't busy at all when my sister and I came in late Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. It was fairly quiet the whole time we were there. I ordered the Mixed Tofu Soup, while my sister got the Homemade Pork Dumpling Tofu Soup. Every order of tofu soup comes with a bowl of rice. We also got a variety of banchan. Happily, satisfied with our food and experience here! Will be planning to come back if I am in the area and looking for Korean food.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to Seoul Tofu House for some piping hot soondubu. I was surprised when I pulled up, as I had visited this location when it was a different business before, but I enjoyed my meal there nonetheless. Parking was more than ample, the restaurant was spacious and modern, and the staff were very lovely. The server lady packed extra kimchi to go for me because I complimented her on how good it was, and I felt so taken care of by her during the whole visit. I plan to return soon to try more of their menu!

Yelp
This place is a family favorite in federal way! Nice and thoughtful staff! They also sell banchan to bring home! It's all delicious It's quiet and calm! since ppl talk amongst themselves it's better than over speaking to loud music Entrance is so inviting. Bathrooms are large clean and accommodate I forgot to take a picture of my food because I'm always so hungry I'll post pictures next time! Perfect for all ages!

Yelp
Geez love the food hate the prices here. I've been here three times but the last time definitely topped it. I got 2 orders of the short rib to go combo. The combo came with 1 rib! 1! So maybe 4-5 cut up. They charged over $30 for one rib?? Don't get me wrong it always tastes good with good char but it's just not worth the price you pay. The soup was pleasant as always and flavorful but beef a little tough. I always get the beef tofu soup. They only gave one side of banchan even though it's super small. Staff here is super nice even though there is a language barrier. They love the kids and always play with them when they come in.
google avatar

Candida A.

Yelp
My family has been here multiple times and are never disappointed. They have their regular menu but there are also new menu items posted on the wall. We originally were going to have soondobu but went with the dakgalbi, they cooked it for us right at the table. On this most recent visit we noticed they have a small shop for selling banchan. We'll definitely need to come by here next time we buy a few instead of usually going to H Mart!
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
I haven't been down here in a while but I'm glad there's a tofu house here now. The original location was actually my friends restaurant. I'm happy to see Seoul is here now. Went here on monday for a late lunch since my friend and I wasn't feeling well. The ajummas working here are very sweet. We all ordered Korean soup. The 3 I was with got different variation of spam and sausage soup while I got seafood. Came with a few ban chains; Kim chee, bean sprouts, water spinach or something similar, fish cakes, and pickled radish that I wasn't a fan of haha. The broth here is so delicious. I love how spicy and umami it is. I'm rather picky with tofu soup but they make it just right. Spicy wasn't as spicy but that's okay since I was having stomach issue it was probably best I didn't extra spicy. Will definitely be back whenever I'm close by!

Yelp
Walked in with low expectations, found a go-to spot for weekend Korean food cravings. Chicken dakgalbi is a must try and please leave some room for k-dessert (fried rice) at the end. This is enough to feed 2-3 people for $43. The 4 of us ordered two tofu soup and this and we couldn't finish one of the tofu soup. Amazing side dishes and amazing service!
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
I highly recommend Seoul Tofu House as it's one of my favorite Korean restaurants! Their food is always cooked well and has great flavor. I got spicy for both dishes and they were the perfect spice level for me. They give a good amount of banchan and the waitresses were soooooo nice. They often came by to check on our table and asked if we needed anything. Their service was amazing! The food is a very fair price for the portion. I love the restaurants' ambiance since it looks modern and clean

Speedster O.

Yelp
Had no idea this gem existed until a friend recommended it to me. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly, not stressed like the staff at other Korean restaurants. The layout and decor is fun and welcoming. I love this place!
google avatar

Brittanie H.

Yelp
My love of Korean food drove me here on a Saturday. I was promptly seated upon my arrival. The ambiance is clean and straightforward, with ample seating. I ordered the dumplings and the galbi, which were both very good. I did think that the price was a bit elevated compared to the portion size and quality, but overall, it was still quite solid. Thankfully there was room for dessert. The service was prompt and polite.
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
Super clean and spacious, lots of parking. Service is as friendly and attentive as you can imagine, they bring you your food, take your order but don't necessarily check up on you. For the price, it is a good amount of food. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the food. The bbq pork tasted like char sieu to me and was super fatty, the seafood pancake, while hefty was a little bland, the tofu soup was good and thays saying something since I do not prefer it. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the soup, it was spicy and had a nice flavor. The dumplings were super peppery. We got the #28 combo which I included any soup (wild) or cold noodle and bbq pork with all the banchan and we got the seafood pancake. The banchan was good, really enjoyed it, not like the typical ones you get at other places.

Nadia K.

Yelp
Got here around 9, seated right away and provided by hot tea right after. Food was so tasty and might little spicier than other tofu house. Got some to go soup. Service was fast and super friendly. Will be back

Yelp
We have tried amazing tofu places in Southern California, and this place was SO good! PROS: + It looked fairly new, so everything was clean! I also loved the "old" style of decor. + Friendly employees! + The soup was so flavorful, and the egg was already in the soup. The side dishes were also all delicious. We ended up getting a lot of refills on some of the side dishes. + The stone pot of rice was cooked well! + Plenty of parking! + Fair prices!

Yelp
We stopped by after dropping friends at SeaTac (I-5 was a disaster so we were taking 99). The entryway is super cute - great ambiance. Lots of really good choices on the menu (including Korean fried chicken). We ordered the stir fry glass noodles and my personal fave: spicy pork bulgogi. It had been a busy long weekend of eating out with our visitors so no soju or other drinks to report on. Service was very prompt (there were only four dining parties) and friendly. The glass noodles were vary flavorful and well prepared. The spicy pork bulgogi was great - probably should have asked for it to be a little spicier. The kimchi was nice and spicy. Every dish was what I would expect from a good Korean restaurant. I was impressed with the dishes we had. If you're in Fed Way stop by and enjoy some Korean food!
google avatar

Hy L.

Yelp
I'm Korean and this has easily become one of my favorite spots for Korean food in federal way. The service is excellent. The space inside is spacious. The soft tofu with egg is very good. The banchan (side dishes) is legit too! Not the lame skimpy side dishes but actually yummy ones and some that aren't too common. This has become one of my staple go-tos. They're not very busy and I hope this place gets some foot traffic so it can stay open for a long time! My go-to dish: oyster soft tofu soup!
google avatar

Prag R.

Yelp
Good Korean place in Federal way, but definitely overpriced, not worth coming if you coming with a smaller party. We ordered a bottle of Soju, Terra, Chicken wings, Army Soup and Kimchi pancake- all of this was $100, which was ridiculous
google avatar

R E.

Yelp
We pretty much came all the way from Portland to eat here, second time we came and this place never disappoints!! The food is consistent, true to its roots, priced well, and of high quality! I mean, the rice, it comes piping hot made fresh just for you, not just some rice sitting in some rice cooker business and to us Asians, rice is the most important part of the meal, fantastic, with the burnt crispness at the bottom!! The service is great, the woman that works there is so polite and patient :) :) :) And it's never too crowded when we go, seats are nicely spread apart, the bathroom is far away from the dining area (and the bathrooms are clean!) Stop reading this review and go and eat there!! NOW!!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised. Lot of parking availabe. Lot of seating inside. The tofu soup was almost as good as any in southern California. Banchan was solid, the service was better than average for a Korean restaurant. The kalbi was decent. Prices seem to be a bit on the higher end but I'll always pay for good food.

Yelp
PROS: - This establishment is a LEGIT soon tofu house. Definitely not a westernized tofu house. - The tofu soup was amazing here. Tastes just as good as the ones we have here in socal, if not better. - The side dishes were tasty as well. - Our waitress even provided me extra rice without me asking! Noonchi. - The neureungi (burnt rice) from the stone pot was perfect. - The employees and service was top notch. - The interior of the location was nice and had plenty of tables and seating. - There is plenty of parking in this plaza and we had no issues finding a parking spot. - There are also tons of other Korean restaurant options in and around this area. - Afterwards, visit the Melody Boba House, makes a great dessert afterwards. CONS: - NONE. FINAL THOUGHTS: - If you want legit soon tofu soup, THIS is the place to go. - They do not provide you a raw egg to put in your soup, they already put the egg in there when they bring out your soup (which I kind of prefer).
google avatar

Stacy I.

Yelp
The Pork Tofu Soup was spicy, savory and delicious. The silken tofu is a perfect compliment to the spice. You can order the spice level to your preference. The banchan was a light, but a nice selection of Kim chi, bean sprouts, mustard greens, pickled daikon. The Korean Beef Short ribs were well seasoned, cooked to perfection. Had to order the Korean Fried Chicken, did NOT disappoint. A light crispy crust, the chicken wings were tender and again well seasoned, well balanced. I would definitely recommend everything we had! We'll be back again soon!
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
Nice clean place. Friendly service. I ordered the mixed tofu soup with LA Galbi combo $32 and both were good. Soup broth has a lot of flavors and the galbi was also marinated well. Banchan was fresh and the kimchi is good too. Chicken was crispy. The seafood pancake was also crispy but soft inside. Everything was delicious.

Sara L.

Yelp
The best Korean restaurant in federal Way right now. The side dishes are consistently excellent. The owner has a hand in all of the cooking to ensure the best flavor and quality. There is a business connection with the Su Moon Nan Jip, perhaps same owner/chef, another excellent Korean restaurant in Federal Way.
google avatar

Jesse R.

Yelp
I felt a little under the weather so I wanted something warm, and this place popped up for soups! I love the feel of this place phone walking in. They're so welcoming and it's so pretty. I loved that they give you all these delicious sides. They have a huge amount of things to choose from. I do recommend the soups though, it's so good. The seafood pancake was okay. The service was Top tier of course. Try this place!

Katie O.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a few months. Glad to finally check it out. Really enjoyed the food. Service was good, staff is friendly. We went Friday in the evening time. Was able to get seated as soon as we walked in, didn't take long for the food time come after ordering. Would go again with friends or family.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Food: The pork and kimchi tofu soup was delicious and full of protein and flavor. My favorite was the seafood bibimbap where it was full of seafood and the rice was crispy with each bite! We also ordered the beef short rib and that was delicious as well. Inside: Restaurant was clean and well designed. Service: Staff was friendly and attentive. Parking: There's a private parking lot!
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
In a town flooded with tons of options for Korean food, Seoul Tofu House really stands out. My go to for KBBQ is another place down the street, but decided to give it a shot here because of the tofu soup. Dishes are standard fare options, but quality of everything we ordered and the banchan really stood out. Every single banchan (particularly pickled radish!!) was amazing. The clam tofu soup was very generous with the clam and tofu. Cute decor and service was top notch, and prices--the meat and soup combos specifically--are a great deal. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.
google avatar

Lyna N.

Yelp
This is currently our favorite place to get Korean army stew and kimchi tofu soup! We like the side dishes and they give you refills if you want. The food is comforting, and the service is decent. The dining area is very spacious and airy, and so is the parking lot behind the restaurant. It's great place to catch up with a friend. They serve light alcohol as well. We love getting the black raspberry wine; they have the typical popular brand from Korea.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Food was delicious and great dining area. Food came quick and decently priced along with good portions. All dishes I believe would be a great choice, especially the soups.
google avatar

Vivian H.

Yelp
Delicious Korean food! The banchan is also great and they even have them on sale for those who are interested. The restaurant is bright and clean, very welcoming. The service is friendly as well. Always bring my brother here when he's in town and craving Korean food
google avatar

Hoang T.

Yelp
Went looking for fried Korean chicken but when that didn't pan out...we saw this spot and were lucky to snag a table. The place got packed within 15 min but the food was amazing. Wish I had pictures but doing a review so if I ever come back to this area, I'll remember where to go.
google avatar

June B.

Yelp
I'm beginning to lose faith in the reviews on Yelp because once again I tried a new Korean spot due to the rave reviews and, once again, I left disappointed. After we walked in, got the menus and sat down, it was literally 5 minutes later that the waitress asked if we were ready. She was clearly in fast food service mode. Once the food arrived, we realized it was indeed a fast food joint posing as a restaurant. The fish was so dehydrated and sad looking we didn't even bother eating it. The Japchae was absolutely awful; it was as though the cook overcooked and over-seasoned it and then said "oh well just serve it up!" We asked for the mild soybean soup (dengjangchegae) and got it super spicy. The waitress tried to explain it was supposed to be that way. The only good thing was the nice lady who checks you out at front. Never again.

Yelp
Dropped a single this morning, popped into Seoul Tofu House for lunch. LORD this place keeps it trill. I lived and worked in Korea and y'all keep it real out here. BIBIMBAP and HOT TEA is the best I'd had in YEARS. Stay trippy. 5 stars.
google avatar

Tori L.

Yelp
1st time here & it was ok. We did takeout instead of dine-in. Portions of soup was small compared to other restaurants. The bbq beef was good but had too much fat. Bibimbap was great but can't go wrong there, as long as you have extra spicy sauce. Overall, it was ok but we'll probably stick to So Moon Nan Jib for Korean food.

Yelp
I love soondubu so I was excited to see a new restaurant if our! There's quite a bit if variation of soondubu and they're all the same price: 16.99. There's seafood to pork to beef to mushrooms. There's also other noodle soups on their menu too. They have a great selection of banchan dishes. I love it when they have the spicy cucumbers and it comes with a fried fish! The soondubu and rice was HOT! Be careful and honestly, I had to wait until was actually consumable since it was too hot to enjoy. I know it comes in these hot dishes and bowls but wow, it was too hot. But the flavors were delicious, could be spicer. I appreciate all the assorted seafood in my soup: shrimp, clams, oysters, etc. Service was also nice and attentive!
