SEPHORA SOHO is an experience on to itself. How many places can you go to for makeup where tour buses pull up letting off tourists who flood in to the already busy store which is what your experience is here. The tourists descend the bus stairs to dash across the sidewalk in to the Sephora store. Smell are every where- sweet, pungent, wild and fruity. The air is punched with music run by two DJ's mid store. It's quite the party replete with lots and lots and lots of makeup brands you will find in every Sephora store, the difference being- this is Soho in the belly of the beauty hub of the world. Even if you dont want to buy anything or want to be new makeup to update your look, you go here. The selfies are priceless... I went to two adults aged eight and ten.... older than me. The staff were friendly, amazing even funny and patient with the kiddos. They know which side of their bread to butter. These girls are their future customers. To watch them purse lips, try testers and pose like they are twenty? Best day ever

I believe the manager’s name was Jenny… I could have her name wrong, but the manager who was on duty January 21st with the cute blazer outfit was so nice. My purchase was an employee purchase and she was gracious and gave me and my mom some samples and cute Haus Labs makeup bags. We were flying out the next day and going home… so the bags came in handy. She was sweet and patient. If I got your name wrong, sorry girl… but thank you!

I had such a great experience today thanks to Solomon! He was incredibly helpful in the fragrance section and really knows his stuff. I originally came in for just one item but ended up leaving with four because of his amazing recommendations. I picked up two men’s colognes which is called MYSELF by YSL bought two bottles . Also I bought Commodity Milk and Phlur Cherry Stem and they all smell incredible. If you’re looking for cologne or perfume, I highly recommend coming here and asking for Solomon. He’ll make sure you find exactly what you’re looking for!

I often find makeup counters in the city overwhelming, but I had a great experience at this Sephora today. I was helped by Christina- she was awesome. She helped me find a bronzer that actually looks good on me and a nice lipstick for my mom. She made it easy and showed me things I was excited about.

I came into the store for a color match on a foundation a friend had suggested and Ioannis helped me. They went above and beyond! Guided me to a different foundation that complemented my skin type better and helped me find a perfect color match. After that they then took me to look at an exfoliate and demonstrated the use and why it would be helpful to me and a moisturizer that was most compatible with my skin. I didn’t buy the products this time because I’m getting a big gift card for Christmas BUT I took a picture of everything Ioannis showed me and I will be coming back to Sephora and purchasing every item. Ioannis is a gem and so kind. Sephora is very lucky to have them.

Had an amazing experience here. People shouldn’t be so hurt if you are being asked for help, just say no. There’s hundreds of people who come in here and it’s proper safe protocol. If you want an intimate experience there’s other locations you can go to. Anyway, I walked in on a random Friday around 2pm. There was a Dj and I couldn’t even hear my own mind. Enter the lovely gentleman that he greeted me. We ducked through tourists and whispered in our ears to exactly pin point what I wanted and boy he delivered. I LOVE this Ilia milk. I wish I knew your name but he is one of the greeters tall slender and so ready to help anyone who comes in. I was then whisked off by another sales magician since it’s apparent everyone has sections they need to stay in. But that was okay I get it I worked in soho circa 2014 and we had this level of people. Anyway this girl finished off everything else I wanted and she also encouraged my first sales reps advice when I was skeptical about a product he reco’d. That’s real team work right there. She then managed my whole purchase herself and I was in and out in 15 min. Despite the music despite the touristy chaos we made it happen and I finally have a gorgeous flawless finish. I ended up loving all the products I bought and even tho I could barely hear anything, the level of service I received drowned out the Dj and made me feel like I was in old time soho. When stores were alive and there were events everyday and everyone in there was an expert/makeup lover. I hope you continue to hire people who truly want to be there and advocate for your products. I love my products and I thank you both so much for helping me <3

Google
i never write reviews, but my experience with the manager (she had long, black hair, wasn't sure if she was white or not) working on monday, november 17th @5ish pm forced me to come on here. didn't get her name, because the last thing on my mind was writing a review, but after sitting on it, i hope that no one else has to have an experience like this with her! i had a product with a broken pump (it was supposed to last 12 months, the pump was always a bit hard to use, but it completely stopped working shortly after a month) i went in to see if they could help fix it so i didn't have to waste another $60 and a year's worth of product! the cashiers were already very short with me when i expressed the concern to them (not demanding at all, just asked for some guidance as i am not a huge makeup person) and when the manager was called over to see if she could help, she did not greet me or even look at me even when i greeted her. i had to explain the situation, to which she angrily responded saying they can't help me. (once again, i was just asking a few questions, and not demanding anything AT ALL) it is COMPLETELY understandable that they weren't able to help, but there is a WAY more neutral tone that they could have spoken with. i mean isn't that something that is taught in training? i have tons of friends who work jobs like these, and understand that people may be having bad days. but, this was completely uncalled for and ruined my day! i was going to buy another one of the product regardless, even if they weren't able to help, but after their rude, snappy, and dismissive behavior, i decided to take my money elsewhere. long time sephora goer and i was not expecting such unprofessional behavior from a manager :(

Google
Linta exceeded my expectations while shopping for Skincare products today! She was super approachable, friendly, and helped me discover a new N’ecessaire body lotion product! Then we ran into Jade who was super sweet and accommodating as well in fragrance. this location is becoming my favorite location in the city. The culture and attention to detail is top tier!

Yelp
My wife ( a melanated woman) went in to pick up an order. Aside from her order having cancelled items she didn't know about until arrival, a staff member made the experience EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. As my wife was standing in the same spot waiting for her order, another staff member who was about 10 feet away talking and cooing with a man and his baby (also melanated) proceeded to walk over to my wife to ask if that was her baby. 10 feet away- no indication of relation or familiarity to this man and his baby. But because the three were the only melanated people in the immediate vicinity, the assumption of them together proved something. The uncomfortableness was beyond measure. I'd rather my wife and I go out of our way to pick up at any other location - IF we decide to still support this business.

Yelp
This Sephora has always been my go-to location for years, but after today's experience, I'm reconsidering. I recently ordered a product online in the wrong color, so I visited the store to exchange it in person. When I approached the front register, I encountered an associate named Zion, whose attitude was unexpectedly rude and dismissive. I simply mentioned I needed to exchange the color, but he responded with a clear tone of annoyance, making the whole process uncomfortable. Customer service is a key reason I choose Sephora, and I was taken aback by his unprofessional behavior. After today, I'm seriously considering switching to the Union Square Sephora location for my future purchase

Yelp
I do not like being lied to. I went in a buy a gift for my daughter. The manager said "Yes! Right here and it is 30% off!" Perfect. I pick out the gift, go to the register where they asked for my email. I declined. I dont need emails, nor do i shop here regularly. I gave in because it would get a free bday gift (that i could give to my daughter), then she asked for my name... ugh. Then my phone. I drew the line. That is a lot of person information that they do not need. She gave me the total. Minus the 30% off. I reminded her of the sale. That is when she told me the catch. Do not lie to people. Do not waste their time. It is rude. It does not make customers.

Yelp
The service is usually stellar, but this time I tried pick-up. First, it's not clear at the outset where the pick-up area is upon entry. I went to the back where the registers are and was prepared to line up (no signage anywhere), only to find out when I asked the employee standing at the end of the line offering faster service with credit cards. She pointed vaguely to the front, and I had to ask her again. When I arrived at the spot, no one was there, and as a customer you could tell immediately why. The area was small AF: What employee would want to wait there in the glass storefront? Maybe they're not supposed to, they have to be on the floor until they are alerted by another employee but then the woman who arrived in turn had to call someone else who brought my item from the back. What are the storage cabinets for in that cramped little space if not for items like mine? They should absolutely rip those out to make that area look better.

Yelp
This is a very busy location. Most employees were friendly except for the one who checked us out. She asked us if we wanted a bag and we said yes. So when she just handed us the items not in a bag, we asked her for a bag. No big deal except that then she gave us attitude about it. All we wanted was a bag for our items. Why would you give the customer an argument? This store has a lot of items which is great and it was pretty crowded due to their sale (Depending on your level you could get 10-25 % off). So it was a good time to buy some items and utilize the benefits of the sale, but their employees need more training in customer service!

Yelp
Sephora please notice this review & pass the message along! About 11pm 1/14 I was getting an Uber with large bags right by your business. At that time there was a crew changing the above sign display. One of the men- Caucasian, tan Carhartt coat, hard hat, beard-he helped me with my bags & was so polite, such a gentleman. Please thank him, his kindness did not go unnoticed. And thank you Sephora for hiring such a fab crew!

Yelp
Will never shop at this Sephora Soho location again. As a black woman who is a Sephora addict I was very shocked when in two occasions I was racially profiled. On both occasions I did the usual shopping in Soho so I had my shopping bags. As I walked into the store usual friendly do you need any help? I said no because I know what I want when I come to Sephora. First occasion white female plain clothes not the usual all black Sephora outfit kept following me around from aisle to aisle. I didn't think anything of it at first but I kept noticing that I was the only she was focused on and then several workers with earphones kept coming over to me asking if I need help in every aisle. Sometimes it would 3 employees back to back. I kept saying no. Then I see the woman and one of the workers talking and looking at me. Anyway even when I went to pay and leave the store the same lady kept on following me. Fast forward today went at the shopping at Ralph Lauren on Prince street. I had my bags with me. Same thing went into Sephora for the 20 % off promotion. Employee asked do you need help I said no. I walk over to the fragrance aisle. A black employee in his all black Sephora attire with cornrows with his earphone proceeded to follow me. Then stands diagonally to me watching me. I as I picked up a bottle of perfume he kept shifting to see what I was doing. As I moved to another perfume aisle he followed me. I was so disgusted I walked out. I am not sure if this has been anyone's else's experience that's black but this mine. I am sure there are probably more people who have dealt with this. Spend your money at a different location!!

Yelp
Carla is a god sent. I came in looking for the Rare beauty lip liner in the color strong that's been sold out for months.. of course it's sold out, the Sephora lip liner in the color molasses was also unavailable.. I gave up, told Carla I was leaving but thanks for all the help.. 10 minutes later who finds me on the line with the perfect alternative for the liners I had been looking for? Carla!!! To think I had left and to still be working towards finding an alternative even if it were for a future customer said a lot about her work ethic. Thank you again Carla.

Yelp
I stopped by yesterday evening 6/23. It was a great experience from the greeter at the door, and throughout the store. It was clean (even with a crowd); the staff stayed on top of keeping displays neat. Everyone I encountered was very helpful. Special shoutout to the "Too Faced" representative that helped me on deciding between different mascaras and liquid liners. Also to the cashier that pulled me off the super long line; I was able to checkout at a booth which was a great help. I found exactly what I needed and it was a fun trip to the Soho location. Yes, I would recommend this Sephora location. 5/5~ Tiffany

Yelp
Awful! I've order 6 lip oil and only got five and a shitty lip liner I've never ordered , texted costumer service according to the agent and the supervisor who assisted me they can't refund or ship again the item because I use a forwarding company which is insane and pretty convenient for whoever packs and order and decides what items to send ...I've never had an issue with the company I use , I've been doing business with them for 6 years now , I've been ordering from Sephora for almost 2 yrs if not . While this year only I've spent more than $2,5k ( you can imagine how many little $150 order packages I've received so far and never had a issue until now ) and I can't get my item or my $35 back . PRETTY WILD . Never ordering again. For all international buyers be advise , your entire order can be missing and they take no responsibility even when it's their fault like in this case . STAY AWAY IF YOU'RE INTL BUYER .

Yelp
This Sephora is huge but too big for its britches. It was impossible to find a worker to help me there. It was just very crowded with people due to the annual sale. However when I finally asked someone if they can help me find a product - she told me nope they don't have it without even looking under the shelf and told me that the day creme is essentially the same as the night. Then I said no- it thicker- I used the tester and it's a diff consistency and ingredients . She's like no honey why would you want to use something so thick on your skin- you will get black heads. I said I don't have an issue with that, it's just something for the winter and I've used this product before. She didn't even look at my face - and said in her opinion I don't need a product that she initially said is the same as the day creme. I usually have no issues speaking with the consultants but this was so unhelpful and was making assumptions when she wasn't even taking a closer look at my skin or even listening to what I was saying in the first place. I was so turned off that I left the store. Good riddance. I'll find what I need online!

Yelp
I have to say, Saphora has changed dramatically over the years. Back in the days, you would come into Saphora greeted by lots of beautiful faces and happy employees. The employees were attentive, and mature. The makeup and perfume samples were plentiful and majority of the locations around the city were very clean and organized. Now you go to some Saphora locations and there are hardly any samples available to test, especially perfume samples, due to theft. I don't get a chance to go to the midtown Manhattan or any of the downtown Manhattan Saphora locations too often because it's out of the way for me, but I have to say that some of the Saphora locations like, Queens Center Mall, and Sky View mall in Queens, are totally disgusting. The customer service is not terrible, but needs improvement. I feel like all the Saphora locations in all five boroughs need to revamp with staff and create a new and improved Saphora. I understand that theft is high, and it's hard to keep samples for customers to try, but something has to be done.

Yelp
I bought a gift certificate for a friend's birthday. She ended up losing it. I kept the receipt so I went to Sephora to see if they could do anything. They said call corporate. I called corporate and they said there is nothing they can do about it. I do not believe that. I believe they are so big they don't have to worry about good customer service. They ultimately don't care about their customers. What a disappointment. I think I will buy elsewhere from now on.
google avatar

Tara C.

Yelp
Do I fit the Sephora type? Sure don't. As a matter fact, the night I went into the store, I had a baseball cap on and a hoodie. I was comfortable. I walked into the store feeling a bit intimidated as I know nothing about makeup... and I own it. As I approached the front door to walk in, I couldn't help but notice through the front window, approximately 7,391 Sephora employees, all in black shirts and pants, standing toward the front of the store... I'm assuming they're ready, willing and able to help customers? Nope, nope... I was wrong. How do I know this? I walked around the store for at least 35 minutes and I'm quite sure I looked clueless the entire time. Long story short, not one employee came over to ask if I needed help - not one single person. With that, I obviously didn't make a purchase - I had no idea what I needed, what to buy, etc. I'll give Sephora the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was just an off day. I'll give you one more shot - next time I go in there, I hope to be helped... if not, someone send me some makeup store recommendations! Please.

Yelp
My 4 star review is for Ashton who visits Sephora every few days. I think she is a product manager. She did a quick refresh for me after walking around the city in extreme heat and humidity on Wednesday, 8/22. She used Kat D powder instead of make up base which I came in to buy but they were out of stock. She cleaned my face and applied Kat B powder, did my eyebrows and used a brush to apply bronzer. She's a doll!!

Yelp
I went in to get a 60 minute makeup service today and the way I was treated was horrible. I had a *3:30* appointment and my makeup wasn't started until 4:00 pm. Listen if you come in here for a makeup appointment and you really need it done for a special occasion, bring your makeup bag. My reservation made it clear it was for my birthday. Yeah they still wasted my time. The reason given was that they saw 3:45 on their end. My confirmed appointment text clearly states 3:30 And guess what? My makeup still wasn't started at 3:45! That actually would have been still been ok. At the end of the day, my makeup artist took a *walk in* eyebrow appointment, when I had a confirmed appointment which actually costs more. Not logical. No idea why a business would operate that way. My makeup came out great, but I was the experience was frustrating. I left a time cushion so I would not cut it close for dinner and they really treated me like my time didn't matter. The staff member who manages the reservations in the make up service section actually tried to get me to pay and tip *before the service*. Out of control. Adding insult to injury. This is my fourth makeup service in a Sephora (including one in that very Sephora), no one ever asked me to pay and tip beforehand. If you buy that it's to make it easier for you to leave quickly afterwards, we'll that's on you. When it comes to paying, all of a sudden, my time is important? This was my first time getting full face, and I never plan to again despite liking my makeup. They are not professional, and lack time management and customer service skills. The ETA given was not accurate. Don't tell me it's a ten minute wait when it's a 25 minute wait. Btw I don't need an employee on the side telling me how great the makeup is coming along. It's patronizing. I have my own eyes. If they do it to you, 1) have your makeup bag and use their nice mirrors and lighting to do your own makeup 2) don't pay beforehand. It makes no sense. 3) If you were going to do any extras like eyelashes, don't. Just do mascara and keep it moving. Don't give them more money when they don't value your time. If it wasn't a special occasion, I would have just done focus feature eyes or nothing at all. They got lucky today. Maybe they saw it was my birthday and figured that I'd have a higher tolerance for nonsense. I just wonder because the whole thing didn't make sense. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience. Not even an extra freebie bday gift which is funny because I've been given an extra one of those when I was not greatly inconvenienced. Ironic. Hope I saved someone frustration and unnecessary stress on their birthday.

Yelp
This Sephora is a mess, and because it's in SoHo, we expect that. They are often out of stock of popular items, but I'm here to talk about something else. The employees are. The bomb. DOT. com. I want to give a shout out to Talia, the employee with pretty and unique eye makeup, for being so patient and kind with helping me color match my new Nars foundation and concealer, and really selling me the Make Up Forever powder I know she believes in. They were out of those little small makeup sponges for samples, but she made it work with tip applicators and tissues. Please please give her a raise

Yelp
a mi hija le regalaron una tarjeta de regalo y se la robaron en el gym, y ellos dicen que ya no se puede hacer nada y eso que tenemos el recibo, yo creo que si tienes el recibo se pudiera cancelar la tarjeta que se compró.

Yelp
Our first day in SOHO for our vacation and we stopped by this store. Very excited to see products we don't normally see in San Antonio where I live. Love the display at the front of the store and just the variety of products. I had seen the Innisfree today for the first time and was intrigued that it's from Korea. The sampler box is very reasonably priced at $18 for the Pore-clarifying mask, Hydrating serum and Firming Cream. Looking forward to trying these! The line seemed a bit long but then someone asked if we're paying with a credit card and we were quickly taken cared of in a separate line.

Yelp
Love their newly renovated store in Soho; Sephora is now bigger and brighter! It's crowded and busy as heck in there, like always. But today my cashier happens to be cheerful and full of positive vibes, which I appreciate! They have so many new products with names I've never heard of, and prices are insane $$$! I need to know whether these products works or not on my skin before buying them, and trying once right there on the spot is not enough. They need to start being more generous with their samples because the last thing I want is to spend $$$$ on something that does nothing for me. One of my favorite products from Sephora is their Urban Decay pencil eyeliner Zero. I strongly recommend this specific eyeliner to everyone. It's $21 now, and I've been using it for 9 years (since 2010). Another favorite is their Anastasia Brow Wiz Chocolate. It's easy to use and the color matches my hair. I actually get all my makeups from Sephora, nowhere else. It's my go-to makeup and perfume place. I have a lot of points in my card; been saving for 9 years but their gifts for redemption kind of sucks. And they don't mail me a postcard to pick up my birthday present anymore :( But I still appreciate Sephora for being one of a kind so I'm giving them 5 stars!

Yelp
I like visiting Sephora often because it's my happy place. I like coming here for a small pick me up treat or to replenish my stashes. Sometimes, I had great experiences and other times, I just been flat out ignored when trying to get assistance. The store is on the bigger side than other Sephoras in the city.

Yelp
I love Sephora when it comes to beauty and skincare needs. PRO: This place is decent in size and they have a large teaching area, which is great. The staff are also very friendly and very helpful. CON: They don't have everything on stock and sometimes it takes while for them to get restocked, so definitely call ahead of time to check if they have the item(s) that you are looking for before coming. Minus 2 stars for inventory

Yelp
What an amazing location! Decided to stop in to grab a Sephora brand eyebrow pencil during the sale. Of course I left with more goodies and a big smile because I had such a great time with Ayana who was helping me :) I had picked up the brow pencil in a color I expected would work and started looking at the Ilia skin tint because I had tried a sample and loved it. I was a little nervous the sample wasn't the right color so I asked to be color matched. Ayana tried two different shades and matched me with a shade lighter than the sample I had before! So happy I asked!! Then we were talking and she took a look at the brow pencil I picked up. Just from looking she could tell it was not the right color -- such a pro. She did my brows with that shade and when we were talking about how my brows are sparse at the ends, she recommended the grande lash serum -- I had to buy it after seeing her own before and after photos! She helped me pick out a few more things (balm, eyeliner, lip mask & balm set). She even gave me some samples of things I was thinking of trying. After that, she and Holshalah helped me check out. I didn't end up getting the credit card because I think it would only inspire me to buy MORE! But I was tempted. Would love to come back to get my makeup done with Ayana!! Also -- I will say I've been to Sephora locations where I felt pressured to buy things or made fun of for not knowing much about makeup. That was NOT the case here!! Both Ayana and Holshalah were so friendly and nice, I had a great time! Will be back :)

Yelp
This is for Sephora at 557 Broadway. The customer service experience was so great that I spent way more than I planned. But its worth it. I'd definitely return. *I am a huge fan of great service and they delivered!!! Bravo!

Yelp
This is the first time I've felt compelled to review a Sephora store despite having gone to probably a dozen different ones over the years. But I was honestly surprised by how wonderfully efficient this location was as well as how friendly and helpful all the sales associates were. I went into a store looking specifically for one product (Sunday Riley Clean Rinse). After a few minutes of browsing both the hair sections and the Sunday Riley section, I was just about to give up and ask someone for help. It's as if Sephora read my mind and someone conveniently popped up within a few seconds to ask if I needed help. Once I showed that salesperson the product, she helped me locate it within 10 seconds. You gotta give them props when a store trains their sales staff so well they've memorized the locations of all the inventory and can locate them within seconds. Now that I've found what I was looking for, I went to the counter to pay for my purchase. I had a moment of despair when I saw how long the line was (prob 7-8 ppl in front of me) but I was pleasantly surprised when I reached the counter in like 5 minutes! What amazing efficiency! The salesperson who rang up my purchase was super friendly. Asked me if she was pronouncing my name correctly and if I wanted to redeem my loyalty points for some free products. I was eyeing a hair serum when she helpfully pointed out that product is usually for blond hair (which I definitely am not). Damn... they must train everyone in that store super to their point where they have memorized every product and who's best suited for it with instant recall. The last Sephora store I visited a few weeks ago (near Times Square) was certainly nowhere as exceptional as this one. This store is worth the 6 subway stops I need to take to get here.

Yelp
I am picking myself up from a deep depression, I decided to work on myself and was excited to try Sephora with the consultations, expertise and products. I went in for a foundation consultation to start with the basics. The lady was sweet and energetic. I told her I need to focus on a smooth finish (I have horrible oily large pore skin). She concentrated on contouring - which might have been ok if she had achieved the basic finish. The foundation looked like a weird color. I asked her, she said it was the lights. I kept emphasizing that nothing else mattered if I don't have a nice complexion. I was hopeful and purchased over $200 of foundation, moisturizer, concealer and primer. I still worried about the color of the foundation. I went into a Kohl's Sephora and had a guy help me. I asked about the color and he was horrified at how bad the color match was on my skin. He found a better match - same brand. I also bought a different primer since I didn't think the initial one was helping at all. He told me I can't return the foundation to a Kohl's Sephora. I asked him how much time I had and he said with a receipt I would be fine. I was leaving to go to China for 2.5 weeks. I have a full career and kids. Time is precious. When I got home I got sick - just a cold, but I between jet lag and the cold, it was all I could do to get the necessary stuff done. I finally gathered the energy to take it back to the same store I bought it. They told me it was past the 60 days. I'm ticked, because 1. I asked so I thought I had time. 2. why is it called Sephora if I can't return it there. 3. Why can't they make an exception - I have proof I bought the other color, so it backs my story that I tried to return it. I do not have any good products after a $30 consultation and over $200 worth of make-up except the moisturizer. Follow up - the new primer and foundation doesn't look great either. I'm so disappointed. It's difficult to pick yourself up after a depression and to have to fight battles like this when you were told one thing makes me never want to go there again and I was so excited to keep working on my makeup application to feel better about myself. So disappointed.

Yelp
I usually have a positive experience in this location. However, I had an uncomfortable experience here yesterday. First, some queen gave my basket some side-eye and made a snide, little comment to another employee about how much I was buying ... I mean, that's none of their concern. Later, I asked a different queen for assistance and he gave me the nastiest look. He made no attempt to hide the fact that he didn't really want to help me. I asked him to check for a full-size of a product. He opened the drawer, didn't even bother to really look and said that they don't have it. I pointed to the full-size in the drawer and said that is what I want. Then he proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes trying to gaslight me into believing that it was actually the travel-size (it was not, lol). So awkward. Anyhoo, some employees here need to check their attitude problems.

Yelp
I love Sephora especially the one in Soho! Everyone seems genuinely nice!! They offer help but not overbearing and there is ALWAYS someone around to assist should the need arise. The product are great, & plenty to test. Just wish they had more selection in the perfume section. A special shoutout to Nora, who went above & beyond, assisted in every way possible! She truly made my day!

Yelp
Brandon, at the Naperville, IL store was friendly and helpful. He is awesome. He spent over a half hour showing me different foundations. He gave me samples and did make me obligated to buy the make up right then and there. I will be returning and asking for him each time.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience in this store on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 6pm. I was browsing around when I got an emergency phone call from my partner. I was on the phone for less than 3 minutes when a woman on the staff came right up to me, with a huge dirty look, glaring at me, and asked me rudely if I needed "help" (I've included a photo of her I took from behind). It was obvious that she didn't actually care to help me--she was trying to bully me b/c I'd been on the phone. Her attitude/demeanor toward me was so utterly off-putting and rude that I wanted to leave immediately. I was embarrassed and angry. In addition, another lady (short, white, with a brunette pixie cut) was cold and had an attitude, giving me a dirty look when I asked for a moisturizer sample. I ended up leaving without purchasing the mascara I came in to get. I'm a working professional and I have been a loyal customer of Sephora for *15 YEARS*, since I lived in San Francisco and shopped at their Powell Street flagship store. I also want to note that this is not the first time I've run into problems with staff at this location. There have been at least 4-5 other experiences in which I've been treated poorly by staff for no apparent reason. I'm beyond disappointed by these experiences and I don't think I want to return. It's a shame bc I work right around the corner and it's really convenient for me, but I'm 100% appalled and mortified at the way I've been treated by your employees time and time again. I don't have this problem at other Sephora locations in NYC. These employees need SERIOUS training in treating customers with respect and kindness. I imagine I'm not the only customer who has intended to purchase something but left without doing so due to the complete crap treatment and dirty looks the employees like to shell out. I realize the employees don't care about losing business, but they shouldn't be allowed to get away with treating paying customers that way.

Yelp
This (really late) review is for Robyn, who's an absolute sweetheart! I wasn't looking for anything in particular myself when I came here last Wednesday. Was accompanying my best friend to PacSun, when she thought she'd try her luck and see if they had any of the Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. It was completely sold out online and turns out they didn't have any in stock in store either. Robyn recommended several water based cream alternatives and was so enthusiastic and knowledgable about which products would work best to address our skin concerns and skin types. She let us try different products and made sure to sanitize each and every product. My friend ended up getting the Murad Nutrient-Charged Water Gel ($60), while my sister and I also ended up buying the Murad Nutrient-Charged Gel ($60) along with the Supergoop! Daily Dose Vitamin C + SPF 40 Sunscreen Serum PA+++ ($46). I was going to complete a Sephora survey just for Robyn, but really didn't feel like downloading the Sephora app just to delete it after. Really really love the service! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I scheduled a Perk facial treatment on a recent visit to NYC. I had read different reviews about the Perk and wanted to try it because 1. everyone seemed to report having really great skin afterwards 2. They don't do extractions. 3. It would be free with the purchase of $75 in products. 4. I am trying to up my VIB game at Sephora. I arrived a few minutes early as recommended and they directed me to Lois over at the skin treatment area. Yes, it's in the middle of the store, but wasn't terribly busy in that section when I was there (11:30 a.m. on a Friday). The Perk treatment is geared to hydrate and exfoliate "with pore-purifying technology and a regimen of nourishing products." I liked the sound of this. Lois asked some questions about my skin (combination, but lately has been SO dry) and then went out to get products that would work best for me. The treatment was relaxing - basically using a hose to deep clean my pores. And then adding more moisture back in. My face - I kid you not - suddenly was so moisturized and healthy, when it was literally just dry dry dry just moments before. Oh yes, and she did show me all the gunk that had been suctioned out of my face - dry skin cells, products, etc. Gross! Then Lois talked me through the products that she would recommend - cleanser, toner, different serums, eye cream, night cream, day moisturizer, an oil and facial sunscreen. It was a whole new world for me - I bought about $100 worth of stuff and made notes of other items I would come back to. Three weeks later and my skin is still rejuvenated and the products she recommended for me were legit 5 star products. I checked all the reviews to see what other people thought (because it was working well for me). I appreciated that they were recommending really great products instead of just trying offload bad products that maybe don't sell so well. The whole experience was a reminder that I need to continue to take better care of my skin and that you really can see a difference when you use the right products. Perk treatments are recommended every 6 to 8 weeks, but I would definitely go back to Lois and Sephora on Broadway for another treatment. They know what they are doing!

Yelp
I have been a member of Sephora's Rouge program for many years. I have been buying from them quite regurly during this stime. But today I am cutting ties with them. Their customer service has taken a turn for the worse. They consistently use 1 star shippers like Fed Ex (and using boxes labeled with Sephora on it is a giant target for thieves), despite repeated complaints about their service. I had a package with a large order marked as delivered by Fed Ex in November, which was never actually delivered (or delivered to the wrong address). I contacted them about this and they sent me replacements. I was not told at the time that, should I have future delivery issues, there is a cap on how much they will assist you in terms of refunds or replacements for shipping issues. Now I have had a second shipment that was not delivered correctly, this time by a different carrier (USPS). After speaking to the carrier, the advice was to contact the shipper. I have done so and been told that, because I have reached a limit on the amount of assistance they can provide, that they will not refund or replace my lost products. I was told to file a claim with the carrier. Carriers do not process claims from recipients, only from shippers. So, despite the volume of orders I have placed with them this year, and in years previous, despite my long Rouge member status, they refuse to assist me. Sorry for your loss. It should be noted that you cannot order things from their website and have them sent to the store for pickup. If you what you want from them is not in stock at a local store, they will only ship it to you. But if you have poor carriers in your area you are rolling the dice with your money ordering from them. This is totally unacceptable. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this store and will no longer be shopping there.

Yelp
Came here because my wife made me sign up for their membership so I can get something free on my birthday for my wife. So sign up if you want free stuff. Think we chose some elephant thing that was free for people's birthday. No idea what it was but it's all good. Staff was very friendly. Was pretty chill about everything. Asked me for my email address, gave it to her, and got the gift. Very simple. I think this place was just recently renovated. I don't remember that it had two double glass doors for the entrance. This place also seemed a lot brighter than before. I think in the middle you can sign up and do some make up. Not sure the details but I think my wife said you can get a free make up session if you are some type of member. Well I was pretty bored here while my wife was walking around so I just took some pictures of this joint and stood in the front to write this yelp review to kill some time while waiting for my wife.

Yelp
Love this location! Super convenient. The store is right on Broadway in SoHo, it's a pretty big space for soho (there are definitely bigger ones in the city, but this one is not small by any means!) they have a great selection and even better staff! If someone notices me staring at products for more than a minute or two I'm immediately offered help. I was just in yesterday and the lady who helped me pick out an eye cream was an absolute doll! We picked out one for night and she was so kind and gave me a sample of a day one that way I could try before investing in such an expensive cream! I then went to check out and first made a return of a product I wasn't a fan of, and it turns out the cashier wasn't either :) we had a good laugh about it and she gave me some recommendations to try instead! She also gave me some tips about the products I was purchasing. The return process was very easy, no questions asked. It was a purchase I made online and returning it to the store was a breeze and saved me the trip to the post office and a return label! I really love this location and you really can't beat the friendly staff. This is just one interaction but each time I've gone in, they really have gone above and beyond with helping me pick out products and giving great advice.

Yelp
I went in to get my brows done and was matched with Rance . Let me say .. Rance delivers !!!!!!! My brows look so amazing . I let my brows grow out after someone prior really did not wax them to suit my face so it was really important that I had someone do them right this time after waiting for them to grow back , long story short ... Rance has my brows looking the BEST they ever have and I even grabbed a quick serum after to help with growth . Literally an all around win !!! (I would love to keep him to myself for my brows but he was tooo good to keep a secret !) book him but leave some space for me too !!! Lol

Yelp
I got my makeup done here for a wedding. The place is huge and they have a large selection of everything. The make up artist was very professional and did a great job with my makeup. The only downside is there is no parking and you will need to take public transportation.

Yelp
My favorite location in NYC. It never disappoints.... I literally walk past the one next to my house to come to this one. There's always employees there that are genuinely willing to help with your purchase. I know it can be overwhelming at times but they always seem down for the task. I wish I can say the same for other locations especially the one located in downtown Brooklyn.

Yelp
Oh man this Sephora location is absolutely a disappointment. Not the place for great customer service that night it absolutely was not the theme. Me and a friend went in just to look around I was specifically looking for a perfume. She's a total makeup buff and would live in Sephora if allowed - me not so much I'm good with mascara and burts bees chapstick (just so you get a feel of the "type" of people we are). I never once was asked if I could be helped although it's always apparent to employees in Sephora's everywhere that I'm lost! I made VIB on this trip and the girl at the registered was solely interested in making me apply/sign up for their cc and once it was clear that I would not lost all and any interest in this paying customer - so much so that had I not already given her my card and really wanted the perfume (that took me about 10 minutes to find on my own DONT JUDGE ME!) I would've just simply left (as I never mention anything when receiving poor service I simply choose not to spend my money their). My friend whom immediately left my side once we got inside was actually waiting outside for me when I was done - THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED! She was so disappointed and annoyed at not having been assisted by 3 THREE different sales associates that she just left. All in all this location reminded me why I shop and prefer to shop online rather than in a physical store on the other hand I will say that this is the first time I've had such lack of service at a Sephora and it will not stop me from going to their stores - I just won't go to this one again.

Yelp
I had my credit card stolen by one of the employees. They had access to my address and was able to use the card to buy hundreds of dollars worth of items at Sephora online and helped themselves to an UberEats delivery. I'm appalled to know that the employees here could do that to a customer.

Yelp
My friend and I came to get a makeover which we were so excited about. We both wanted to get some light makeup, but it didn't even matter because the employees had no idea what they were doing. They did makeup about as well as a 12 year old who stole their moms eyeshadow. It should've been a warning sign when I saw the makeup she was wearing, but I still wanted to try it out. They only talked about one brand (Ilea) and kept trying to get us to buy it. They clearly didn't know how to do makeup since I could've done so much better. My friend and I took off the makeup outside of the store after we left and did the makeup ourselves

Yelp
I had a good experience in this location. I was here on NYE! I think this location is quite well stocked and the shop was neat. I was lucky that it wasn't so crowded during the time I went. I know this store can get quite crowded. One of their makeup gurus had helped me. I forgot her name but she is a pretty asian woman. I was looking at a foundation that was supposed to be for full coverage and she recommended me another foundation that is much more better for my skin type. I don't have much skin issues and I didn't want to have a heavy coverage so she lead me to other options. I liked her suggestions very much. She even sat me down for a bit to try on a concealer along with a foundation even if we are cutting close to an appointment for that chair. She handled that very well though! I will come back!

Tessa G.

Yelp
I would give them 0 stars if I could as they just quite literally stole $20 from me. I returned a product that didn't agree with my skin, and when I got home the receipt said I returned something else much cheaper. Nobody will help me resolve this problem, even though I'm a rouge member and have clearly been a very loyal customer for 10+ years. Stay far away from this Sephora and Sephora in general, I'll be moving to Ulta instead.
