I visited the store looking for a new concealer brand. I usually use Rare Beauty, but I wanted to try something different. I asked for help finding my perfect match, and Monica assisted me. She was amazing, super friendly, knowledgeable, a great listener, and she even recommended another product that I tried as soon as I got home and absolutely loved! Unfortunately, my wonderful experience ended at the cashier. The short lady with pink hair had a very poor attitude. It felt like she was doing me a favor instead of helping me. She spoke so quietly that when I asked her to repeat herself, she did so with clear annoyance. I truly hope it was just with me, because I understand everyone can have a bad day, but that’s not the right way to treat a customer. Because of Monica, my visit was almost perfect, but the checkout experience really brought it down.

Sephora sells products with 5 days expiration term 🤥 I just bought a deodorant 4 days ago on December 20th and when I opened it today I noticed it is expires tomorrow! I am very disappointed!!!! And since I already used it those days, I won't be able to return it within 30 days. Can I still return it? UPDATE: by law Sephora can't sell products with 5 days before expire day for full price! They MUST inform you and give a big discount. In this case they are considered as mentioned in Ontario Consumer Protection Act – misleading practice! I was able to return it in 27 days after purchasing, but my disappointment is still exist! Replying to the comment, it happened exactly at the Bay & Bloor location. And I am sure the store manager knows very well what kind of product quality is in the store.

We had such a lovely experience at Sephora thanks to Tasnuva! Even while we were just browsing, she took the time to acknowledge us, asked if we had a Sephora account, and was kind enough to give us some freebies. She was incredibly knowledgeable about skincare and explained everything so clearly, without ever making it feel overwhelming or salesy. Her attitude was warm, genuine, and super helpful! She truly made the whole experience enjoyable. Sephora is very lucky to have her, and I really hope her management recognizes what a gem she is! 💕

I visited yesterday to get some Rhode stuff. I knew what I wanted to get but the beauty advisors were kind enough to ask if I need help. The cashier took care of my purchase had such an attitude! Spoke in a very unfriendly way and when I kindly asked for samples (I bought 4 Rhode products so not a small purchase), he gave me a judgmental look and said "no". Other cashiers were giving four samples. I usually speak up but I didn't like his energy so I decided to leave.

My niece visited Sephora (Yesterday around 5 PM) and unfortunately encountered an unpleasant experience due to the behavior of some of your staff members. While she was trying on lipstick, she felt uncomfortable because one of your staff members appeared to be closely watching her. The staff member then approached her and, in a harsh tone, asked, "Are you done?" My niece, feeling nervous due to the staff member’s demeanor, said yes and stepped aside, assuming the station might be needed for others. Soon after, the same staff member signaled to another colleague, who quickly came over. Together, they told my niece to clean up the station. My niece complied, but as she was putting the napkins in the trash, the staff member smirked at her, leaving her feeling humiliated, unfairly singled out, or even bullied. She felt too scared and nervous to speak up in the moment. Customers should never feel treated this way. While there’s nothing wrong with cleaning up after oneself, my niece had no intention of leaving the area untidy and felt unfairly targeted. The entire experience left her feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. As a loyal Sephora customer who has always appreciated the brand, I am deeply disappointed by this incident of bullying. I have submitted a low rating to bring this to your attention and sincerely hope Sephora takes appropriate action, whether through training or disciplinary measures. Bullying others is unacceptable and, if driven by deeper psychological issues, it can cause significant harm to both customers and the brand’s reputation. If necessary, I can provide further details (via email) to help identify the staff members involved. This kind of behavior is not what we expect at Sephora, and I trust that this matter will be addressed.

Had a fantastic experience a few days ago getting a feature-focused eye makeup session with Simona! The beauty advisor and manager treated me with so much hospitality, kindness, and grace. They even tried a blush on me that made me want to come back for more. I’d been living away from Toronto for a few years, but their service truly made me feel at home. Keep up the great work to all the amazing, warm, and welcoming beauty advisors and management at this location!

One of the best Sephora stores! The store had a wide range of collection and has items in-stock. We were able to get the last of Gucci mascara for my gf. Tasnuva and Nikki were amazing to work with while in-store! Nikki was very informative on events and collections while on the other hand Tasnuva went above and beyond - helping us on offers, upcoming events and brand options. These two made the experience awesome for us! Will be back again!!

This is still my favourite Sephora location in the city. Staff are always knowledgable and friendly. I have come here a few times for the makeup services. Alas, it is not free anymore if you make a purchase, but the prices are still reasonable ($60 for full face, $30 for one feature, $90 for total glam). Most recently, I had Domonic do my eye makeup before a photoshoot. It was like a mini makeup lesson, he explained what works best for my eyes and gave some tips and instructions. In about half an hour he did eye shadow, brows and applied false lashes (you have to buy them from the store, you aren't allowed to bring your own lashes from home). The displays are always clean and well organized. I find it less chaotic compared to the Eaton Centre location for sure.

Had to stock up on some makeup for NYE so to Sephora I went. My original plan was to go to Eatons but I thought about how chaotic it would be and decided to go to Yorkville instead, which I'm so happy I did. An artist by the name of Laura helped me and she was amazing! Even though I had to wait for a few minutes (as she was finishing up with helping another customer), she made sure to acknowledge me and let me know she was almost done which I really appreciated. She helped me find my perfect concealer, setting powder and 2 lip liners. She was honest with me as to which colours looked best on my skin tone which made my decision an easy one. She was very patient and friendly as well. The cashier wasn't the friendliest and seemed more concerned with chit chatting with the other cashiers. Definitely would not hesitate to come back to this location. Since it's not as busy as the mall, I feel like the artists have more time to spend 1:1 with you .

I used to look like a rat peasant and so did my children, that is until I discovered the world's best makeup store! Along with makeup they also sell some skincare products which help restore youth to my skin. The staff there were so kind and prices were so affordable! I think that everyone should come here!

I was looking for a store to stock up for New Year E, my friend suggested me Sephora, They have all the product range I was looking for. Highly recommended. Keep the spirits high.

My friends love Sephora and I get it...They offer a broader variety of makeup compared to Mac, SDM, etc. I'm just not a big fan of the cosmetics industry, but it was their birthday month so they each got a gift. Btw, very friendly staff !

I love makeup. Therefore I love Sephora. Simple equation. Funny enough I buy makeup but rarely wear it on a day to day basis. Maybe some light foundation more recently just to even out my skin tone and some blush to give this flat one dimensional face some colour, but other than that not too much. Maybe some lipgloss. Although looking at my makeup drawer you would be shocked at how much stuff there is. I just love new products and always buy stuff...so it looks pretty in my drawer I guess...lol I love Sephora b/c there are a variety of known brands and maybe some lesser known brands here. Everything from hair care (although this section seems to be shrinking in the last few years) to skin care to makeup to perfumes that you might not be able to find elsewhere. They have testers for EVERYTHING which I love and they give you samples of their products which is so important for me b/c I need to test out things like foundation and skin creams to see how they react with my face. Nothing worse than buying a foundation that you think matches your skin tone and then 2 hrs later it oxidizes. This saves me a ton of money and a lot of embarrassing moments. I also go here before going on vacation to get samples of my faves to take with me. This location while in the heart of downtown could be better - I think the selection could be better (while most Sephora stores carry the same items there is some variance - to get the full selection the Eaton store is great but I think this store should also be on par). The Eaton store recently did a renovation and it looks fabulous so I think this store should follow suit. I like how you can easily spot a staff member to hep you find what you need or give you guidance. If you need more guidance come early when it's not busy so they can spend more time with you. They can also apply the makeup to you so you can see how it looks. You can also book a makeup session with them (I've had 2 free ones b/c if you are a VIB - Very Important Beauty Insider) you get one free session. Their is a point system and you can redeem your points for items - small sample items for 100 points, 250 points and sometimes 500 points for a larger gift. Nice! I also like how at the front where you stand in in line to pay they get you with smaller sizes of popular items. Great way to try something new or pick up something for your travels.

This sephora may be in yorkville but I astonished at the unprofessionalism of the managers. I was requesting a service that I had the week prior but had since stopped. The manager told the greeter to have me go with one of the artists as if I was going to be attended to, but then had me waiting with her for ten minutes and while the two managers came over to tell me she couldn't do it anymore. (They said she could line my eye but couldn't do a wing because that would be a 'service') HA! The one star is for the lovely gentleman in the perfume department who is knowledgeable and really seems to enjoy his job

The people here are super nice! I know this is one of the busier parts of town so the store itself can get quite crowded but the customer service is excellent! I've only been a few times to pick up a Jack Black Lip Balm (to the point where I don't even need to ask where they keep it) and to pick up birthday gifts but I've never felt frustrated with any of the staff.

Big retailers have to change their shopping experience. I am a mature customer and I knew exactly what I wanted when I went to Sephora today. I had waited weeks to go as I wanted to avoid the crowds before Christmas. The store was still crowded on a cold mid-January weeknight. I was assisted by a capable young woman but three of the four items I wanted were not in stock. In fact, it seemed like 10% of the displays were missing the testers. The remaining samples were dirty or otherwise unappealing. I had a priority place in the queue to checkout but it still took so long that I felt faint and couldn't wait to leave. I will not return to the store again but will order online for items I use frequently or will try smaller independent stores if I need assistance. This retail formula does not appeal to my sensibilities any longer.

Very BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE I must let you know, how bad my service was. I come from New Jersey to Toronto for Radiation treatment. While in Toronto I tried to take back my Sephora purchase of two perfumes never used except once, and both of them made me break out in hives. Stood in a huge line up to return them on Friday Jan 22, at Square One store to find out they have changed a policy no returns or exchanges without bill. I was dumbfounded as Sephora always was so pleasant to return anything that gave you a rash, or you just didn't like it. First of all never heard of a policy change, and secondly could you just make one exception as it takes a lot out of me to even get out these days for errands . Nobody has any Empathy left in this world, and not customer service anymore. Belinda Lawlor

I have had MANY 'satisfied' visits to buy make-up in my lifetime, today TRUMPED all of them which speaks volumes! SHYAN at store 508 (Bloor Toronto) mesmerized me with his approachable knowledge, personalized care and limitless passion for his craft. I came in for a refill on one lipstick and left with an even better pairing 'look at me shine' lipstick, 3x show stopping eyeliners, a magical mascara and another product on order on-line. Its worth saying, I came in, tired from the week, looking for an assured pick up me and guess what...I FLEW out of Sephora today on my MAGICAL LOOKIN GOOD FLYING CARPET. Why? SHYAN! Shyan, taught me how to apply my skincare so as to avoid the 'tearing of the eyes' I'd been experiencing. Then, I learned how to apply eyeliner to reshape my eyes to a wondrous result AND as if that wasn't enough, I learned how to apply a truly lengthening mascara that tastefully, yet masterfully made it look like I had long, luscious look at me eye lashes a real value add from the previous one i'd been using (albeit from Sephora too :)). WOW. In my visit, I was greeted with warmth and care, I was nurtured, educated and made beautiful by the wonderful Shyan and then checked out by a super friendly person. Guys, i'm normally a Dior department store devotee frankly avoiding open spaces like this as if it were the plague but this time, you make me really and truly fall in love with your immeasurably talented Shyan, your expertise, your choice brands and your friendly, caring staff and 5* experience from beginning to end. I dont think a visit to a glam squad will every come near to trumping SHYAN so in this moment, credit where its due. THANK YOU to the moon and back. UPDATE: My eyes literally have stopped tearing. Shyan was right it was my skincare application notably. Second, i've had endless compliments on how well i'm looking and its the new fresh look :)

I like this location. They have very polite associates here whenever I pop by to purchase or browse something so its pleasant for me. I always go here because Square one or Eaton Centre has the craziest mob almost filing up each aisle and I just cannot deal with it honestly... plus there is a better chance they would have stock here than the other locations on a "hot" item for sure.. at least in my experience since I always find what I want when the other stores don't have it.

This is my favorite Sephora! It's never too crowded; the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I've never felt like I'm being watched or pressured into purchasing products. The testers are tidy and sampels are available for many products. This is a wonderland for those who love makeup and who also like the comfortable and helpful experience while shopping for it.

I am giving this location 2 stars. It has nothing to do with the variety of collection, or the staff, or any of the usual aspects others have reviewed upon. Rather, it has to do with a specific experience today, especially compared to the Eaton Centre location. I know Sephora offers an amazing return policy. And I had never been to this location, despite having wanted to since they opened. I thought why not take in a product I need to return and check this store out at the same time. Well maybe, one shouldn't take in their returns here as this store requires you to have ID for a return without a receipt and will do exchange only for said return, and this is without having looked up when the purchase was made byway of your Beauty Insider card. I had an eye palette which I purchased several months ago, had only used a couple times and would not be using upon realizing that I was having a reaction to the ingredients in the product. Fully aware that purchases could be looked up using my VIB card, having done a similar return previously at the Eaton Centre store where my receipt was found on my card (where I was fully refunded and I did not need ID), I went into this store expecting a similar transaction. While the sales associate was nice, she said that I would need ID, and that I would only get to exchange the item. I may be wrong and ID might be required. Still, for one store to tell me without even looking up my purchase that I would only get to exchange (for a price that was less than what the product was worth) and another to give me a full refund, because it was still possible to do that? Yea, this store deserves 2 stars. I would give it 1 for this experience, but I actually love Sephora. I will definitely not be spending my money at this location. I went over to the Eaton Centre location after this and got my full refund, without showing ID and without being hassled.

Because I am a certified Makeup Artist I am always looking for the newist and coolist beauty supplies and I KNOW Sephora is up to-date with all the newist trends. I always shop at the Sehpra in the Eatons Centre and I find that it is VERY dirty and you can never find a sales person when you need them! I also find that its very busy and hecktic to shop! I came to this location the other day because it is right near my house and I just so happened to be walking by it and needed to grab a few things. Immediately as I walked into the store I was greeted by a smiling sales person. I really noticed a difference from this store and the Eatons Centre store. It was quiet, very clean, sales people were very friendly and knowledgable and helpful. I did notice they do not have as much stock as the other location..they were out of a few of my fav. BLISS products.. When I was cashing out for the first time I actually got a few free samples and did not have to purchase them with my "Sepora Points". I had the BEST experience ever and will DEFFINITLY continue shopping at this location.

So nice! Nobody bothered me while I wandered around here in my customary trance like state. I love the meditation that is cosmetic shopping! I tested and wandered, noting that assistants were present and approachable but unbothered by them. I hate feeling watched or harassed. I've been trying to limit my cosmetics spending but decided to treat myself to some nice bubble bath and body cream. I had a Beauty Insider card at one point some time in the past but have no idea where it is now and decided to sign up for one. It's my birthday so asked if I still qualified for the gift with the card if I was only just signing up. The beaming assistant said it was absolutely no problem; then activated my card, wished me a happy birthday, gave me my free gift and threw some fragrance samples into the bag. Such a pleasant experience! The negative? I've no reason not to go back now. Except for relative poverty.

You know you had a great experience in a store when you leave with a grin on your face and a pep in your step. That was the case when I left the Bloor Sephora a couple weeks ago. I had gone in to test some lipstick ideas and found some great colours under MakeUp Forever. However, one of the colours I wanted was out of stock. Salesperson to the rescue! It's like they knew that I needed them at that exact moment...that and the store never gets too packed when I go so they're always happy to help. They offered to call Eaton Centre and when they didn't pick up (which I figured would happen), apologized profusely and offered to help me find a similar shade with a different brand. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but in true female form, I found other stuff I wanted :) Head to the cash and there's a line up; not too bad but at least a 5 min wait. One of the salespeople apologized regularly to all of us for the wait and then handed out a full sample of mascara for "our trouble". If only I could have that kind of trouble in other stores! When I got to the cash, the salesperson was helpful in giving me a great moisturizer that could double as a primer...AND he also gave me tons of samples for a new powder foundation. Granted, they were all the darkest shade and he mentioned that not many people come in that can wear it but I don't look a gift makeup salesperson in the mouth!! All in all, I walked out with some great samples, some products that I will definitely buy next time I'm there and a grin that this may be the only Sephora store I shop at in the city.

Coveted five star status for a beauty chain? As a former American beauty queen once said: You betcha!* I have a real knack for running out of everything at the same time and then busting it to Sephora and spending way too much money. This morning was one such day. I decided to mix my fancy-fix** with some exercise and walked 6 KM there and back. I got there right at 10am when they opened, so it wasn't too full and the annoying music wasn't blaring yet. I will remember this for future visits... I had this sleek Yorkville location all to myself! These folks definitely work on commission, but their skincare training seems to match their eagerness, so I'm not bothered. $168 later I have my face wash, moisturizer, primer, make up as well as a free gift (I love their point system!) and a few samples. Today was a pricy day, but my skin deserves it and this stuff lasts a lot longer than drugstore crap. Clinique, NARS, Clarins and Benefit for life for this super-pale lady. *Her other best quote was: I can see Russia from my house. **http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-zpOMYRi0w

So sick of going in here and only being helped by boys. They all spout some lines about how great a mascara/lipstick/cover up is but dont really know. Even the ones in full make-up ( mismatched foundation and all!) doesnt know what girls' need are...and hasn't experienced what we go through with skin, pms, hormones etc. I want to talk make-up with girls...not have a guy that half cares about women telling me how great I look, or that maybe I should get botox. Terrible sales technique. Sorry Sephora- nothing against hiring the boys-they are great and helpful -but all I ever hear is "my friend really likes this one"...they cant really relate and are just pushing products.

I received a makeover from Kelly at the Bloor street location. ABSOLUTELY LOVELY and AMAZING. I was in a panic, because I had my engagement photo-shoot the same Sunday, and because I was late for my appointment at MAC, they did not take me. I decided to try Sephorah, as it was right down the street on Bloor. When I told the staff about my situation, they were SO understanding! Kelly immediately came to my rescue. She knew that my photo-shoot was happening in an hour, and she did an absolutely amazing job on my makeup as quickly as possible. She also was so calming and sweet! I just felt at home. Kelly truly saved the day. I left the store on time and feeling beautiful.

This is the best Sephora location in Toronto for sure. Never overcrowded, good store layout, plenty of staff to help you. No one giving me the evil eye while I sample a million products yet fail to ever purchase anything. I finally did buy a ridiculously overpriced eyeshadow the other day, which I am so far enjoying. Overall great shop but I just can't wrap my head around why women would willingly spend so much money on cosmetics!

Busy store but staff is still helpful and friendly. Huge Sephora fan and usually love all the stores, however this one is especially well staffed. They helped me get a product that wasn't in stock anywhere else. Within 3 seconds of being in the store someone offered to help me. Considering how busy the store was, the lineup was short and moved quickly.

Pros: -They have everything you need and didn't know you needed to gussy yourself up -Sephora club thing gives you awesome free samples. Plus you get free gifts for your birthday that tend to be super nice - staff are really generous about this sort of stuff too. -Excellent return policy if you can deal with the suspicious glares - much better than Shoppers which is also selling high-end stuff -Knowledgeable staff - wow. When I lived in Boston it was clear that most of the staff had painted themselves up while driving down a very bumpy road in pitch-black darkness. Here, they are polished and you'd trust them to take a brush to your face. Cons: -They don't sell a lot of genuinely natural stuff here. Some stuff is marketed as such, but really if you check out the stats a lot of it isn't terribly green and so I avoid most of fragrances and cleansing products. -Crazy expensive - I tend to stick to the basics here and get what I *really* need/want. -If you return something without a receipt, they treat you like a criminal. I have expected them to take my fingerprints after they requested my ID for a return. -Some of the staff are serious cosmetic victims themselves. The woman who helped me cash-out was a poster-child for "what happens when you don't keep pumping collegian into your lips." I literally could not tear my eyes away from her half-deflated lips. Ick. Thanks for the public-service-announcement on your face.

Terrible customer service! A friend and I waited a long time to get someone's attention because they're too busy talking to each other. Someone finally clawed herself away from laughing with her colleague to assist us, clearly against her will! We discussed a few products and I asked her for a sample. While preparing the sample, she continues her conversation with her colleague taking an extended period of time to prepare the sample!!!!! Worst service I've ever encountered, I will not be back to this store!!

This is the best Sephora location in town in my opinion! I always try to do my in-store shopping at this location rather than my local Sephora if I can because the service here is always top notch, it's easier to find someone to help you if you need it, the shelves, displays and testers are neat and clean and when you ask to sample a specific product as you're making your purchases they don't tell you to just buy the product and return it if you don't like it. I have never asked for a sample when I'm not making a purchase because I feel it's a bit dodgy but it's good to be aware that they are equipped with little containers to allow them to pack samples and the company itself wants its employees to give customers a sample if they want to try a product they're thinking of purchasing so if you happen to be making a purchase and want to try a foundation at home later to make sure it works for you or if you've gone nose blind but want to test a perfume for the office don't be shy about asking. Obviously people should make a purchase and be reasonable and not ask for too many but 1-2 is encouraged by the company so that's totally fine. Every shopping trip I have made to this location has been amazing - Sephora online is always really wonderful too - they offer amazing selection and many products that can't be found elsewhere in Canada, great chances to get promo products you want to try, free shipping for rouge members and their turn around time is stellar but sometimes you need to go to the store to make sure a product will work with your skin tone, smell a new perfume or gage the lip or shadow palette colours in person. Given how great the online shopping experience and customer service is I always hope the store experience will reflect the same high standards of customer service and at this location they always do. I've also often been able to speak with very knowledgeable skincare brand reps at this location whose expertise was a nice added bonus. I don't go into any beauty supply stores for makeovers because I tend to like the way I do my own makeup better than anyone else so I never get free or low cost makeovers due to total lack of interest on my part but if you do want to get a makeover while you are there my feeling is that this Location would be one of the best places to do it because the testers are generally in better condition than they are elsewhere.

I remembered when I only DREAMED that Sephora was in Toronto. They have EVERYTHING. But that doesn't mean they get a 5 star from me. PROS: -great selection of all cosmetic products -they carry basically every beauty line there is, so if you want it they've got it -Good location, right by Museum subway CONS: -their staff are not that knowledgeable. I don't mean to sound like a witch, but sometimes their selections are totally off - especially when it comes to makeup like concealer and foundation and powder. Their advice in the other areas are great, like mascara and eye shadow and blush. But when it comes to skin makeup, pick it out yourself. I've taken back tinted moisturizer that made me look like a ghost and have powder that makes me ompa loompa all over the place. -they're frequently out of certain shades/colours like no other store. Again, in the skin make up department. Sometimes I've settled for a colour near what I want and in the end I am sorry. Overall, if I can shop at the Bay I will. It is a more peaceful cosmetic experience AND they have MAC along with most of the brands at Sephora. And eventually you get more bang for your buck with points instead of little samples. I stick with Sephora for Philosophy products and others that are Sephora only, but if I can get it elsewhere I will.

I had a great experience here. The store was super busy and I was obviously out of my element but Paisley was amazing and totally went out of her way to help me out with foundation recommendations. Really impressed.

Fabulous return policy and everyone is very helpful. However, I've been three times recently and had to return everything I bought! I purchased a foundation stick by "Milk", got it home and it had separated and it was six months out of date (June 2018). I bought a brow pencil and ended up being given the correctly named item but an incorrect color. Sephora returned the items with no trouble and they were very nice about it BUT I bought a lipstick today, got it home and again I was given the wrong color - I bought a deep red and when I got it home it was a nude color. I can return it and they were very nice about it but I'm feeling a bit "third time totally unlucky" with Sephora. I think they are a bit too rushed.

Not as busy as the Eaton Centre location - only maybe 10 people in there whenever I have gone. The usual, great selection that Sephora provides.

Let me start out by saying that Sephora is every girl's dreamland...well those that care to look good anyways. The sephora on bloor street is really the BEST in Toronto. It is an independent store, not in a crowded mall, and you always feel zen in there. It's never too crowded and the staff are super helpful. They always give you samples when you ask and won't bother you. Yes, sephora has good brands and it is not cheap, but would you cheap out on your face?

This is my favourite Sephora in Toronto. It is so well organized and the sales associates are so friendly. Plus, after walking by stores like Gucci, Prada, Chanel and LV - it feels good to get into a store where I can actually afford something. I love how the sales associates aren't pushy. You are free to browse, test products and spend your time looking up reviews on your mobile device. Their return policy is great, if something doesn't work for you, just return it within a reasonable amount of time (not sure the exact conditions). They are generous with samples, and the Beauty Insider program is appreciated (every $100 you spend, you get a mini-product, and your points are banked over time, so you don't have to spend $100 on the spot).

When you've had a rough day you can go in here and play with some make up. If they're not busy ask them for an eye application.. they can show you different ways to jazz up your eyes.

The last (and first) time I got my make-up done was over ten years ago for my high school prom. That being said, I generally feel a bit awkward whilst getting my nails, hair or make-up done. As soon as I walked into Sephora though, I felt at ease. All of the staff members were lovely and, of course, beautiful. I had my make-up done for a friends wedding, and, if I may say so myself, I looked fabulous. The woman who helped me was very conscientious and asked me all about my skin and my make-up routine and she tried several different foundations on me before selecting one. At the end of the session there was no pressure beyond the $50 minimum spend and after I had decided on a lipstick and liner was told that that was enough? The wedding was fabulous and it was a great night.

I enjoy shopping at this location, even though I rarely shop for make-up. I love the location, its energy, and the store is well organized with helpful staff. I chose to go to this location a while back when I wanted advice on how to contour and illuminate. I explained what I saw on an internet photo, and asked one of the sales reps to demonstrate the process to me. It went well, but could have been improved. At that point, I didn't know anything about contouring and highlighting, and she used dark and light cream foundations from Cover FX (no longer available from Sephora) to demonstrate the process. The tutorial was decent, and I was able to duplicate the process at home. However, I was not explained that the illuminating could be accomplished with a highlighter, as opposed to a light cream foundation. I realized later that I was more interested in purchasing a highlighter versus a light foundation. I only used the Cover FX for lightening a couple of times before using the Watts Up highlighter from Benefit. Bonus that I got it for free as a bday gift from Sephora; I kept it without using it for a while, and am happy that I am able to now get use out of it. The effect is much better. The girl helping me was not rude, but she wasn't overly enthusiastic or interested in teaching me. I had to ask her what she was doing while she was doing it, because it wasn't always clear why she was applying make-up a certain way. She could have been having a bad day, but I think it is important to explain something properly to someone when they know nothing about it. I ended up paying for something I didn't even want. I also had to remind her to show me a cream foundation that I would need. I was told that cream foundation was necessary for contouring. However, recently I have seen it accomplished with powdered foundation. Speaking to a make-up artist should be the most efficient way of obtaining information, since it's hard to educate yourself thoroughly on a process that can be accomplished in so many different ways. I also want to point out that purchasing the Beauty Blender, essentially a small sponge (to blend in cream foundation), for $30 is such a rip off, it's ludicrous. I understand it is a make-up item, but there is nothing expensive about it - it's not even make-up! You can purchase the Quo version for $5 at Shoppers Drug Mart. There is also a special shampoo that is recommended along with the Beauty Blender, but that item is also unnecessarily expensive, as all you need is a baby shampoo that can also be purchased at Shoppers. If you are looking into purchasing a product that you can get elsewhere, it may be cheaper, especially if that store sometimes offers sales, unlike Sephora. Going to Sephora is fun, it's like a candy store for make-up lovers. There is a benefit in being exposed to so much make-up in one place to get new ideas, and be introduced to something you may have never seen before. I would also recommend educating yourself in advance to ask the right questions, and help you purchase what is right for you.

I visited this location once again and they were not sold out of any of the popular sets!! And love how this place is NEVER crowded!!

The staff at this store have been amazing! My first time at this store was after I traumatically lost my makeup bag that had all my foundation & concealer in it. I was there for about 20 minutes to a half an hour while one of the staff helped me find a new perfect shade & applied it for me. We looked at the finish in different lighting & tried different products. Unfortunately, I got home & it was smashed, but when I brought it back, I got it exchanged & received some samples no questions asked. When I went again after dropping it & smashing it (this time my fault) I was able to exchange it even without the receipt & received other products at no extra charge! Everyone I've encountered there is so friendly & helpful without being pushy! Great staff at this location!

I love Sephora, but don't love this location. I really ilke the Eaton Centre location... I save my Sephora trips for when I'm at the Eaton Centre. I find the staff here to be less than helpful. Products, selection are great as always though.

I really like that the sales people will help you if you need it, but don't follow you around trying to sell things at you! I usually only buy only drugstore products and was nervous going into Sephora which is more high-end than I usually shop, so I didn't want to feel pressured to buy things I didn't want or couldn't afford. I just got the eyeliner that I went there for and got out. The store is well laid out to allow you to find things on your own or just amuse yourself by browsing. Plus all the salespeople had amazing makeup, which is I guess what you want in a makeup store!

best sephora by far. never crowded, no panic stricken teenagers, you can always find a salesperson to assist you AND products are always available. i can't stress how nice it is to go to a sephora and get what you need efficiently. i usually am in a rush whenever i go to sephora so i like having the option of doing things fast without customer congestion. this is also a good store to visit if you have time to browse and test things out. you will never be hassled or followed around by annoying sales staff. they will also offer you plenty of samples without question.

Been here three times and each time I have waited at least 30 minutes without any assistance. Staff was chatting with each other instead of responding to requests (even pleas!) for help. I'll stick with MAC down the block.
