Google
Super cool place wish I could’ve spent more time. Got a couple neat photos of me and the wife. I even found salmon swimming in a mountain stream. We did the emerald loop hike. It was beautiful.

Google
We did the Trails of 100 Giants. It cost $12 to park. We got there early ~8am and only two other cars so it was great to walk and just be amazed. It’s hard to grasp what a fire can do to a beautiful place. You will drive through burned woods for miles.

Isabel Lotspeich A.

Google
There is no reception as expected but the main park is paved and can take a stroller to it. Restrooms are available but not very accessible in long hikes

Google
Loved it. We drove for about 90 minutes to get to the trail of 100 giants. And we enjoyed every minute. There's a lot of burnt trees due to the fires but you still have the amazing view of the mountains.

Google
Beautiful place to visit. Only 1 hour drive from my home.

Unbelievable beautiful place Every time of the year

Was about a half mile walk to see General Sherman. Hard for bad knees. I wish the ranger had told us about a 2nd parking lot next to the tree (almost), for handicapped. On a brighter note, we did catch a shuttle back to our car. Its amazing how large the trees are. It was nice, but I liked the forest of Redwoods in northern California better.

Google
Grateful for the privilege to have visited this beautiful Forest and having seen General Sherman this year....

Yelp
I don't know how to even describe this park, maybe, magical... The sequoias are majestic with sugar pines sprinkled all around. I was here with the Sisters Corp. to do some volunteer work. I did not want to miss the opportunity to give my time for this beautiful place. This is my first time to visit this National Park and I know now it will not be my last. My first day at the volunteer camp group site as we gathered at the table to meet each other and go over the agenda for the weekend we had the opportunity to see a black bear casually roam through our campground near the tents (one of them was mine). We were all informed prior to arriving not to leave any scented items in the tents. No one wonder the bear kept moving along, but with the help of our camp host shooing it away from the campground. This is something we learned from the rangers, is to shoo them away so they don't get in the habit of coming around. The park offers many hiking trails, I had the chance to do one of many, which was the Long Meadow Trail. Very beautiful, plenty of foliage and evidence of a bear in the area. Another part of the park I got to visit was General Sherman. There is a park ranger that will tell you the history of the General Sherman tree. You can wait in a long line to take a pic in front of the tree with a General Sherman sign. Or you can take a pic around the fenced majestic tree. I choose not to wait in line. I had the chance to shuttle to General Sherman tree from the Museum. The Shuttle is free and seems to come every 10-15 min. From General Sherman I also shuttled to the Lodgepole marketplace and visitor center. In this area are bathrooms with showers (coin operated, quarters). The Marketplace has an area to order some food and also a section where you can purchase some ice cream by the scoop. The store offers assorted ice cream bars. The visitor center offers gift items as well as the marketplace. At the front of the visitor center they had a ranger available at a booth if you had any questions. This place is quite busy! Parking lot is a madhouse. Nearby is a campground you may want to check out or ask the ranger for some info. If you can, arrive early, find parking at the Museum and shuttle to everything if you can. Warning, when I was doing volunteer work in the parking lot across from the museum we witnessed a black bear enjoying some berries in the bushes. I'm not sure if they will venture into the parking lot with a lot human activity going on but be careful what you leave in your car, anything and everything with a scent. The park has so much to see. I look forward to returning to volunteer and to take advantage of what the park has to offer.

Yelp
Best national park I've ever been to and that's saying a lot. It's magical, and I highly recommend getting to the Sherman trailhead prior to 9:30am if you want a parking spot. Takes about an hour to get in there, up there and parked so plan accordingly. The congress trail was amazing and for a 3.5 mile hike it took about 2.5 hours with frequent stops for pictures. Highly recommend a stop at lodge pole for refreshments and merch. Incredible experience from start to finish.

Yelp
My friends and I visited during the "fall" and it was a sight to behold. Words can't describe the beauty we encountered during our day trip. Panoramic breathtaking views. It was a good time to go because there are few people wanting to battle the snow and ice to see General Sherman! Dress accordingly if you go during the fall or winter. I'm talking snow boots, jacket, gloves, hats and scarves! It was about 30 degrees and snowed the whole day. I 10/10 recommend this experience!

Yelp
Amazing and magical place to be ! Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We felt like ants around these ginormous trees! Definitely add to your bucket list if you're a nature lover. The time we came here, entrance was free! (Not sure why it was free because there's usually a charge at the entrance) but we went 9/28/2024. Happy hiking, kids!

Yelp
I just love the sequoia and kings Natl forest and parks !! Grant Grove being my all time fav . L have fond memories of camping as a child up there in Sunset area of the grants Grove. I love you because within walking distance is a restaurant, a store and cabins and such but it was just gorgeous. It's beautiful up there the tall tall, Sequoia is in there, giant tree trunks that you see I even have a memory of going past some place that a hermit lived in. It's called the hermits cabin. It was a tree stump, and he made it into a home where he lived his life isolated, but only running into the parks personnel occasionally until he died. It was very interesting that and crystal caves. Oh my gosh it's so beautiful camping up there was always so much fun with my friends and parents and their friends

Yelp
They should have the park rangers search backpacks cars I see people coming into this national park and stealing pinecones rocks, natural resources, etc. This is why the price is so high for us locals to get into this national park should have a special discount because we're not here to steal or desecrate our national forest. Foreigners people from other countries or out of state come and trash this park yearly which raises the cost for us to get in to our own backyard national park the park ranger should do searches on backpacks and people that they suspect carrying out loads of pinecones, which are seeds to grow more Sequoias and redwoods That only grow this climate! If you see something say something to the Ranger or the person/ persons. When I was a child, my grandpa had a lifetime pass. We would come up here numerous times a year just to pick up trash and enjoy the trails so if you see some trash that don't belong there, pick it up and put it in the trashcan, please help keep our national park, beautiful. The museum at the bottom of Morrow rock trailhead is now open, which brings in a lot of different people from all walks of life, the restaurant at Lodge pole is now open and looks very nice after the remodeling. The burgers are delicious at lodge pole. The backend of the park coming up through Fresno/Squaw valley or the 63 has a lot of fire cleanup that still needs to be done sticks and massive pieces of wood not over the fog line procedure is 18inches over the fog line so be careful driving up or down you still have people swerving into oncoming lanes not watching what they're doing, so drive slow and cautious. Inconsiderate people stopping in the middle of the road taking pictures may be a hazard so watch out for this if you have to take pictures in the middle of the road pull over and one of the many different turnouts and take your pictures from there do not put others in danger or yourself/family! We got a lot of snow up here this year ice pack is melting so be careful if you decide to go for a swim. The water is very swift and dangerous and it could be your last swim so be careful and watch out for others.

Yelp
It's a very beautiful place and we really enjoyed it. There was a long way to get in. It's a bit expensive.. the food is really terrible. We were really disappointed with what was made available to us.. I was really expecting something that was like campfire food maybe tri-tip sandwiches cooked on a barbecue or s'mores or sandwiches, or even cowboy style food like chili beans cooked open fire after all it's out in the redwoods and forest and camp style but I was shocked to see that it was food that was not American tradition and the wait to pay for really crummy, simple cafeteria food was extremely long.

Yelp
We came during March, so there were still snow-covered trails, but still were able to walk many of them and see General Sherman. It's a park that should be on everyone's bucket list of places to see. The giant sequoias will take your breath away. Just amazing. Highly recommend getting your pass before coming online! There was a lane open just for people with passes, otherwise, we would have been waiting in line for a long time. Stop into the Giant Forrest Museum and grab a cute T-shirt! It helps the parks by giving profits back, plus you get a nice momento!

Yelp
I love this National Forest. The giant sequoias are so beautiful. Yes, it is a bit gnarly getting there with all the curves but just go slow and let bad drivers pass you. General Sherman tree can't be missed.

Yelp
You need go there once in your life, mainly with your children. When it is possible, take a Summer weekend to visit there. We saw a bear! It was so lucky! $35 per car. Take snacks and much water. The has a great structure for visitors. My family from Arkansas loved the place.

Yelp
National park, it is what you make it, go take your time , enjoy! Also do Yosemite while you are there, no regrets

Yelp
Breath-taking. I have never seen trees like that in my entire life. They are sooo beautiful!!! Tall, big, robust, impressive. 100% Must life experience.

Yelp
This was a nice Adventure. It's amazing to see these huge trees that have been around for hundreds of years. To see what the forest workers do what they do on the daily to help save these trees truly takes a lot if hard work. If you can go to 100 Giants in Yosemite, it's something I strongly recommend. Take the family with you the trails are nice in their is lots of history. Plus you will get to see these huge enormous trees

Samuel T.

Yelp
Beautiful and magnificent. It's so big to go all inside the park. Just covered the tourist attractions

Yelp
Sequoia National Forest and Giant Sequoia National Monument are separate from Sequoia National Park. The Monument covers over 300,000 acres. Yeah, that is a whole lot of land. We have seen a tiny fraction of the area. Specifically, we explored the Trail of 100 Giants in the Southern portion. It is a nice easy walk in a Giant Sequoia grove. Giant Sequoia trees are a sight to behold. They are the largest trees in the world. This National Monument is a great place to visit in order to see them. There a total of 33 groves in the Giant Sequoia National Monument. If you are a nature lover, then take a trip here. You won't regret it.

Yelp
I love love love Sequoia. I came here for a few days on a camping trip and had a wonderful time. I will say that it does not have a commercial feeling like Yosemite in my opinion-- which is a good thing! I saw a lot more wildlife here and untouched beauty. Reservations at Lodgepole campground was very easy. Oh and the gift shop was actually really good! They had a ton of great things (and I'm usually unimpressed with typical gift shop selections). I highly highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
I cannot emphasis enough how beautiful this national forest is. During the spring, there was remnants of snow in the ground and the weather was perfect. I would recommend bringing layers of clothes as your hike may entail going further up the mountain. The last hike we did was Tokopah Falls Trail that has a waterfall at the end that I would recommend. Also there are an abundant of wildlife such as deers and little critters found in the rest areas so be aware

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful! Tuesday 6/9 We drove on the 180 in Sequoia National Forest until the road ended in King Canyon National Park. On the way we stopped at the General Grant Grove. This is where you can see the General Grant Tree. This was an easy walk/ hike. Here you would see a cabin made in the 1800's and other Sequoia trees. We saw 2 beautiful waterfall up close, The Grizzly Falls and the Roaring River Falls. There is a lot of hiking and exploring to do here. The Forest and Park still wasn't completely open. The visitor centers were close and some locations were as well. Overall this was a pleasant, peaceful drive with the beauty of God's creation throughout.

Yelp
Gorgeous views Breath taking Trees, easy trails, nice drive up and back. One of the things that kerps California beautiful while you can forget the crazy political atmosphere

Yelp
Absolutely loved getting away from the valley floor and the first thing I smelled stepping out of the car was mixture of Giant Cedars, Sequoia & Ponderosa Pine.

Yelp
Love it!!!! Family oriented and fun hiking trails I like to us the Ap (All Trails) to find various area in the Sequoia area

Yelp
Came here for Christmas and it was a winter wonderland. See national parks during the winter is a whole different experience than in the summer. Make sure you have snow chains in the winter the rangers will happily deny you and take your thirty bucks as you get one mile into the park. Snow chains are a must. You can get them at any local auto parts store or you can shell out more money as you get closer to the park. Chances are you will shell out more money and struggle putting them on. Be prepared winter driving is dangerous and you must be prepared or your winter wonderland will turn into a frozen hell.

Yelp
Cleanest, well maintained Parks I have been to in a long time. Shuttle runs regularly there is no waiting with clean easy walks to all the special sites. Plenty of clean restrooms, gift shops, and places to buy something to eat and drink. Everyone needs to see the giant Sequoia trees at least once in a lifetime and the walk up to the top of Moro Tock is so worth the 300 easy steps to climb to the top. Remember to fill up on gas prior to entry, go online and make an itinerary to ride shuttle to the main spots. This is one of them any wonders of the world! There are 2 parks Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Forest. We stayed at a love prior to entrance and spent one day at each park. It worked perfect.

Yelp
Had a great time. Hiked up Moro Rock. 325 stairs and lots of sloped walkway to the top. We drove in yesterday afternoon and paid $30 which is good for seven days. We forgot the map we were given the next day and the Ranger at the gate said 'we only give you one'. Luckily someone hooked us up at the visitor center and didn't make us pay for it again. Hiked to the General Sherman sequoia which is the single largest living thing on the planet. The trunk is just huge and though it isn't the tallest tree, it sure has a presence.

Yelp
Even though I came home with about 15 mosquito bites and got car sick from the windy roads, I still give Sequoia nf 5 stars. My biggest reason for chosing this area to camp was that dogs are allowed everywhere! My only gripe was it being difficult to find the non marked hiking trails which took up a lot of our time, I recommend buying a trail map from the ranger station, the free one wasn't very helpful. Trail of 100 Giants is easy to find which is a very popular hike. Tons of campsites, both free, reservation/fee, and first come first serve. We stayed at Coy Flat which was great. There are small markets and some restaurants outside the forest if you didn't bring anything. The forest is huge so there are tons of places to explore. Be aware before you go, some roads or areas may be closed due to floods, fires, down trees, etc. Take a moment, enjoy the chirping of the birds, the rustle of the trees, and the fresh air!

Yelp
If your into nature you must visit this park. Not only is this park beautiful full of tall trees but is also educational. The only problem is traffic, there is a lot of driving around.
google avatar

Chandi M.

Yelp
This is one of my top 3 places to hike, camp etc.... seriously so happy going out on all the trails and just enjoying nature and all it's beauty. And the hike up to the top of Moro Rock is one of my favs in this beautiful place. And every now and again you could possibly see a bear. I was here in May with my brother and his new wife and we came within around 150 yards from a mama bear and her 2 cubs. And I guarantee she saw us first. By the time I looked up you could tell she had been watching our every move while posted up on a log while her cubs rolled and jumped around same log. They were so adorable and clearly having a blast with no care in the world. But mama had there back. We all sat and just watched as she moved them farther and farther away from us. Seriously amazing experience. I am counting down the days until I return. And we only live 2 hours away.

Yelp
Sequoia National Forest is part of the 3 adjacent National Park/Forest Services. Beautiful area surrounded by Sequoias and pines and conifers. There are some campgrounds (without amenities) and lots of hikes in the area. Between Sequoia Natl Park, Kings Canyon Natl Park and Sequoia Natl Forest, there's lots of serene hikes, campgrounds and facilities (such as visitor center, paid showers, flush toilets etc...)

Yelp
Beautiful! A must see! Take the time a go. TRUELY a wonder of the world! Only. The road trip we made this a stop before heading to Yosemite. Be ready if you have someone that gets car sick, it's quite twisty of a drive. Also make sure you have gas as there is no gas in the park. Once you get to the entrance it's another 40 minutes to get where you need to be.
google avatar

Shellee P.

Yelp
We have so much to offer in the beautiful forest. If you are taking a day drive up highway 190 stop in the little town of Springville and have lunch at The Hamburger Stand! They serve more fries than you can eat with some cool unique burgers such as the "ranch hand" and do not leave without chosing a milkshake!
google avatar

Mjcharlene L.

Yelp
Jennifer provided excellent customer service here and was very helpful when I walked in. The place is nice and clean as well as very welcoming. My husband and I got our annual passes here. Can't wait to go visit all the parks. Whoohoo....
google avatar

Karina V.

Yelp
Such a beautiful view!! Family friendly, different trails. The weather was a bit cool I do recommend dress warm! The only down fall is they charge $30 which is pretty expensive, other reviews I ready said t cost 20$, guess it went up. Definitely going back again this week!
google avatar

Zachary A.

Yelp
An absolute must see if your traveling through the area. The massive sequoias are mind boggling to stand next to! To see most of the park be prepared to either camp or make multiple trips as it is a long drive and the areas of interest within the park can be hours apart. Buy even with the long drive its definitely well worth it!

Yelp
This place is Amazingly Beautiful .. I love going during the change of seasons ... love love hiking up to Heather Lake . And it's Beyond beautiful when it's snows . Morro Rock is the place to check out during the spring.

Deborah P.

Yelp
The Great outdoors and lovely views. Roads up there a bit curvy. Relaxing, Serene. (FYI: If Government closed, so is the parks and hotels will be empty).
