Sercotel Playa Canteras

Lovely hotel, great location on the beach with the sound of the waves. Superior Seaview room has a large balcony. It is clean (serviced every day), has a good coffee machine, very comfortable bed and best of all, a fantastic shower. And compared to other hotels, we found it quiet, minimal disturbance from other guests in the corridor or from neighbouring rooms. Breakfast was what I call 'business standard', and addition of local products rather than generic European staples would really have elevated it. But the selection is there to suit all tastes.

To the Management Team,|I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my stay on 16/01 to 17/01. |As a guest at an establishment of this caliber, I expected a seamless experience; instead, I encountered a level of service and room maintenance that was entirely unacceptable.|My primary grievance concerns the conduct of a staff member named Silvia. Despite having been explicitly assured by the evening reception staff that breakfast was included, I was approached by a server that asked me to sign a paper since i have no breakfast included, so i decided to go and check with the reception there I found Silvia at 07:10 AM in a confrontational and dismissive manner. When I attempted to explain the information I had been given, she redirected the blame onto me, stating it was my responsibility to check my booking and that it was "not their job" to inform me of my inclusions.|This interaction was not only unprofessional but deeply embarrassing, as it occurred in front of other guests, effectively making me feel like a "hustler" over a simple breakfast service. |This lack of decorum and hostility is inexcusable in a luxury hospitality environment.|Furthermore, the physical state of the room was inadequate with The room was uncomfortably cold, which prevented a restful night’s sleep.|Then Neglected Maintenance that the lighting in both the shower and closet areas flickered constantly—a basic maintenance issue that should have been resolved long before my arrival finally Poor Acoustics that Despite paying a premium rate for a room on the pedestrian street, the windows provided zero noise insulation. Being subjected to street noise throughout the night is not the standard I expected.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The breakfast was a disaster – there was hardly any food available, and what little there was was not replenished. On top of that, tables are not cleaned during breakfast service, so guests arriving later have nowhere to sit, as tables are left dirty with dishes from previous guests. Many guests complained, but the staff and reception simply shrugged their shoulders, saying they were aware of the situation but could not do anything about it. After a few attempts, we completely stopped having breakfast at the hotel and ate in restaurants around the city instead. In the restaurant, sewage pipes are hanging from the ceiling, and during meals you can hear sewage water flowing through them, which is absolutely disgusting. The place is dirty and poorly maintained, and the hotel photos do not reflect the real condition at all. In the room, the windows face directly into other hotel rooms across the way, offering virtually no privacy. Furthermore, the windows cannot be fully closed, and the gaps are crudely filled with silicone, giving the impression of poor maintenance and makeshift repairs. Additionally, there is not even a basic toilet brush in the bathroom, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this price level and with a supposed 4-star rating. The price and 4-star classification might have been justified in the past, but today this hotel is barely worthy of 3 stars. Overall – a sad and miserable experience. We consider this a complete scam.

Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms maintained daily and the use of fresh beach towels every day was very much appreciated. Great location and would definitely stay there again. Well worth a visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay — the hotel is in a fantastic central location, and the reception team were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. One small point of feedback would be the bed linen. On a few occasions during the week, the sheets weren’t fitted properly and had some minor staining, despite being freshly laundered. The room itself was comfortable, though we did feel it could benefit from a full-length mirror and a bit more drawer space. My husband and I found ourselves living out of our suitcases for much of the trip, simply due to limited storage. That said, we do tend to travel with a generous wardrobe — so perhaps we’re not the average packers!

I am an older Dutch traveler who visited Gran Canaria with my wife. We stayed at the Sercotel Playa Canteras and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is in a wonderful location near the beach, and everything was comfortable and clean. The staff at the reception were especially kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. It felt like being in Tahiti. we would like to repeat soon.

The breakfast doesn't have vegetables or variety. Every morning, I ate the same breakfast. I'm wondering if I would stay more than 3 days... Also, I would recommend that the duty manager speak with all cleaners to respect the quiet hours, especially if you check in after 3 pm. I think cleaning should not be done after this time, but much earlier, considering that check-out is at 11 am. Between 11 am and 3 pm, there are 4 hours in which you can clean, talk loudly in the corridors, bang things together, or talk on the walkie-talkie near the door of the recently checked-in customer, who comes from far away. I would recommend this hotel for the position.
