Serena Shigar Fort

This is the second Serena property on our trip. I was truly amazed by the restoration of the fort and conversion into a hotel. There are no lifts. You will need to walk up the stairs like they did centuries ago. The rooms and showers are all modern but the retained some of the old furniture to give an authentic look and feel. Buffet breakfast was excellent. It is another property I will return to when I visit this place again.

I'm actually rating the fort itself rather than the hotel. The fort is well preserved and is very nice to visit with a knowledgeable guide. The structure and interior has been well preserved. We dined in the garden of the fort for lunch and the food served was very good and the setting great.

I recently stayed at Serena Fort Hotel in Skardu with our family, and our experience was truly memorable. The restaurant offered a delightful array of local and international cuisines, and we thoroughly enjoyed each meal. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional.

I loved my visit to Shigar Fort. I didn’t stay at the hotel but I did experience the restaurant.|Shigar Fort is beautiful and located in a very beautiful setting, on the legendary route to K2.|I love anywhere with culture and history and for me Shigar Fort didn’t disappoint. |You are free to be able to wander around. The views from the terraces are beautiful and the gardens really peaceful and a delight to wander through.|There is a shop that sells local products and handicrafts. The restaurant is amazing. I was very impressed with the presentation and food and drink on offer and the prices.|Special mention would have to go to the staff on site. I found them all to be helpful and courteous and very friendly.|I didn’t experience any issues with cleanliness, as some other reviews have suggested. |If I had one observation it would have to be the care of some of the antiques on display. When I was walking around the fort there were some people who thought it appropriate to remove artefacts from the wall and handle them and also touch many of the other exhibits on display. They were touched in a very heavy handed way and I think some visitors do not appreciate their age or significance. Behaviour like this in my opinion needs to be discouraged.|All in all a trip to Shigar Fort is highly recommended.

Stayed in the fort itself. The room was lovely and full of character!! Obviously it was a bit small but you are staying in a fort!! Great food, really nice and helpful staff, the shower worked which was great. Definitely worth a night if you are in the area.

Great experience at the Shigar Fort. The entry ticket was 800 or something each and we were given a guide who gave us a complete tour of the fort. The fort itself is a wonder as it is built on a rock. The varanda of the fort features a 2000 years old tree and a beautiful 12 dari. The place is pretty historic and the houses alot of antique artifacts of old times. 10/10 for the maintenance of the place. The fort is quite accessible in terms of condition of roads. Must visit place in Shigar
