I had an excellent massage here — highly worth it, and I definitely recommend this place. One thing to note: when I called to inquire about prices, I was told a one-hour foot massage was $50, but when I arrived, it was actually $60. Honestly, I still thought $60 was a great deal given the quality of the massage. For context, we booked two one-hour massages for a total of $120. The space is clean, comfortable, and no-frills — their pricing reflects that, which I appreciated. After my session, I tipped $10 to each masseuse (17%), but one of the masseuses seemed upset and didn’t say thank you. Typically, a tip for wellness or beauty services is around 15–20%. During my partner’s massage, the masseuse had to stop a few times to answer the phone and didn’t extend her time to account for that so while the massages were great overall, the professionalism wasn’t entirely consistent. As I was leaving, I noticed a sign recommending a $20–$30 tip per masseuse. While I understand gratuity expectations vary, $30 would be 50% of the service cost, which feels unusually high for this type of setting. I would’ve had a 100% great experience if I didn’t feel like they made me uncomfortable for leaving a 17% tip. I ended up tipping each masseuse another $10 because I felt so awkward and bad. I wish the pricing was higher so the employees don’t rely on unreasonable tip percentages. I can’t leave a place knowing that someone was upset or disappointed so I gave more money, but at the same time I don’t think that should have been on me as the customer.

I’ve been to Serene Thai Massage many times and tried different therapists — each has their own unique, professional style. The space is always clean, the music is soothing, and I always leave feeling refreshed. Thank you for always giving me such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

I recently visited Serene Day Spa for their Deep Tissue Massage, and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and beautifully maintained, setting the perfect tone the moment I walked in. Sofia, my massage therapist, was exceptionally skilled and attentive—she knew exactly how to target my sore muscles and used just the right amount of pressure throughout. Her technique released so much tension that I felt completely renewed afterward. The spa itself was spotless, with soothing music and aromatherapy that enhanced the overall experience. The staff were friendly and professional, making me feel welcomed and cared for the entire time. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality combined with real expertise. I left feeling lighter, more relaxed, and eager to return soon. Highly recommended for anyone needing true relaxation.

A pretty good massage for a very good price! I called to make an appointment with Linda, who was highly recommended in other reviews. Unfortunately, she was on vacation for a few weeks, so I made a generic appointment with whomever they had. I asked for a 60 minute deep tissue massage, $60 cash, and was paired with the masseuse Annie. The deep tissue massage went a lot like a Thai massage, with Annie stepping on my back and stretching me like in a Thai massage. Some parts of the massage were dry, and others used lotion. At one point, she jumped on different parts of my spine to crack it. I’ve never had a masseuse do that to me before, so it kind of freaked me out mentally whilst also being physically satisfying. She did a lot of step work on my legs, which was nice. She didn’t do that much work on my shoulders and back though, which was a bummer. The rooms are not fully enclosed, so there’s some noise that filters overhead. The rooms also have signs that suggest how much to tip: $15-20 for 60 minutes, $25-30 for 90 minutes. Very reasonable suggestions given how affordable the massages are. Overall, a good experience!

I have been coming more than ten times over half a year. It's getting better and better after trying different masseuses. I had a chance to experience different techniques with Nancy, Tony (who no longer works there), Sophia, Linda, and another lady that I did not catch the name of, but she was also excellent. So here is the ranking from top to least: Linda, Sophia, unknown name, and Nancy. Linda is the best provider in the Los Angeles area; in my opinion, she knows the body area so well and uses good pressure, and I prefer a firm massage and excellent skills to remove your knots and pain areas by touching it. She can do deep tissues or Thai massage (walk in the back) Since I have tried over 50 places in the U.S. and Thailand, she's my favorite. Her schedule is Sun-Wed or something, but please double-check with the receptionist. 1. Book an appointment: call them in advance if you have a specific person you want to book with, and it's easy to set up the time. Walk-in is also available, and 8/10 will have someone available for you. I never do walk-ins because I want certain people to massage me with good techniques. 2. Nice and cleanliness: 8/10. The place has average decor, and the room is standard, nothing special, but I care about different factors. 3. Relaxing and noise concerns: This place is designed with an open room and space on top so you can hear people come in and out. You can listen to some clients talk, but they wind down fast. However, the staff doesn't pay attention, and they cost the noise the most for a long time which bothers the quiet time. I think the management needs to improve this because I can hear the laughing, talking, and chatting for over 10 mins in the kitchen area. 4. Prices: cheaper than other places, like $5, but deliver a great job and good service. 5. Parking: sometimes, it is hard to find downstairs in the front, but there are also available in the back of the building. Also, street and meter parking might be challenging during peak hours. There is a coffee shop (same floor) and my favorite Korean Fast food downstairs ($10-15). I recommend trying it out when you're in the area because I always grab it after leaving the session at Serene Thai Massage!

It's nothing like a real Thai foot massage. You try to relax with your eyes closed under a towel during the massage, but the staff constantly talk loudly among themselves and on their phones, which is very annoying. At the end, they insisted on a tip.

A step down from that is the standalone locations for spa and massage and then a step below that is just a massage business in usually a retail center. So I knew what to expect coming into this massage. Overall it was pretty good but could have been better in each category. Mainly giving 4 stars because my masseuse worked hard (she never mentioned her name) but I paid for a 2 hour deep tissue massage and she did a 2 hour Thai massage instead. I like Thai massages too but she used her feet about 85% of the massage so I really missed the hand techniques and stretching that I usually experience. Will break down my visit into the pros and cons so you can decide. PRO: the pricing is very fair, almost a dollar a minute so it would be hard to find many cheaper options out there. From what I saw it was clean inside and in my room and I like how it’s attached to a free parking lot as I was able to find a space right out front. Also my masseuse worked very hard and even though she didn’t speak English, or had a diverse skill set, she still put in the effort. CON: as mentioned I paid for a deep tissue and got a Thai massage using almost exclusively her feet and walking on me. I like that to start but after an hour+ of that you are just screaming for it to mix up a bit. The walls in each room do not go to the ceiling so it’s easy to hear other people and the employees as sounds travel easily. Also, I’m 6’3” and they have one of the smallest massage tables I have ever been on, my feet hung off the end the entire massage. Overall a nice experience but wish I would have received the services I requested and paid for. Still searching for my perfect mix so I don’t plan to be back here again, but would recommend to anyone to give it a try at least once, but with reserved expectations.

I've been here a couple of times and every time I walk out post-massage feeling loose with less upper body discomfort. I came in because I was having really bad shoulder and neck pain due to prolonged poor posture while working. These muscles were very tight and when I pressed and gave myself a little rub it felt very lumpy with what sounded like popping. I usually get the Thai combination massage because I need the masseuse the get into those tight areas. I'm not going to lie this massage is no joke and even though they ask if the pressure is ok or too much. I just go with it because I know I will be better for it. I have even almost cried, but again I would shed a little tear because the relief that follows from constant discomfort before the massage at Serene Thai is worth it. It's a chill spot, simple. Nestled in a small shopping center with tight parking. There is also a parking lot behind the center and street parking. The Price point for 60 - 90 minute massages is really LOW. A massage at a regular spa would cost 75-150$ per hour, so TIP accordingly and cash tips are highly encouraged.

I came here for the first time last week and this was one of the best massages I've received in a while. I went to my appt and there was no parking in the lot so I was just circling the establishment - the guy who booked my appt called me and offered his parking spot in the back which already is above and beyond what any other establishment would do. The massage was crazy!! I feel like places will advertise their massage as a Thai massage but this is very legit. The masseuse got on my back and started walking and it was sooo good! And relaxing. Prices are pretty reasonable, they have instructions in the rooms. They have signs asking for a 30-50% tip which is a little off putting initially but they won't make you feel bad if you don't. And I don't blame them for trying. This is a great way to decompress and in my opinion once of the best in the area.

I just visited for deep tissue massage with MICHELLE.... This was my 4th time getting massage here. Girl.... SHE WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely come back soon!!!!!!!!! She tried her best to take away my pains. I've been to a lot of massage places so Im very picky!! but let me say that she's something else!!! She's so good!!!! Went for a Thai massage here and honestly it was sooo good. I walked in with a sore shoulder and came out feeling lighter and kinda sleepy. The lady who did my massage was super nice and professional. Place was quiet and smelled divine. Totally worth it.

Didn't have an appointment and we were able to get two 60 minute foot massages. Feet soaked while we got shoulder and neck massage and then scalp and neck before the feet massage. Had super sore achy feet but after the session -- no pain! Best part was Mochi who kept us company Price was $62! Not bad!

Place is clean, the employees are friendly as well. I did a foot massage service with Jesse (he's only available on Thursdays). I slept wrong and couldn't turn my neck much, he was great in making sure I felt ok during the session and spent a little extra time, making sure I felt better when I left. Definitely will be returning.

This place is a hidden gem. The prices are so reasonable and I never ask for anyone specific but every masseuse is so talented. So relaxing and always gets the little tense muscles. Highly recommend. Also cash recommended for a little discount.

Found this on yelp. I regularly have massages by LMP bimonthly. I wasn't sure if this place was legit. Decided to go here because of the reviews and it was close by to my daughters. I'm visiting her from WA. This atmosphere was nothing special, but clean and well organized We (daughter and I) both asked for Thai combo $69. Stepping on back and hand/armmassage with oil. It was more than that they incorporated stretch, aromatherapy, effleurage massage , face and scalp massage in addition to full body massage. We were asked to pay for the services before the massage. They offer cheaper rate if you pay cash. We were asked to take off shoes and put on their slippers. We were offered the couple room. Daughter and I took it. The massage rooms are separated by a wall. With curtain doors. I had Gina. She was great. Starts with warm towel in back and neck and feet. She asked me what I wanted work on. They didn't ask my "hurt areas". I have a bad neck and lower back so I had her to be gentle. She was strong and recognized area that were tight because she let up when stepping on my back. However, My upper arms/biceps/triceps were sensitive to her pressure and asked to lighten up. She understood and followed thru. I loved the eucalyptus oil aromatherapy and temple/scalp massage. They massaged thru a towel on my hair so my hair didn't get oil. I have plantar fasciitis and that foot massage cut thru the adhesions. It felt so good. They had us sit up crossed legged and massaged our neck even more, stretched our arms reaching back and our pecs. Love this..working on computer that stretch was needed. I came out feeling loose and stretched relaxed. I would definitely go again. I A We tip afters as usual and there is recommended tip sheet posted every where. Oh. I asked for a woman to massage. There was a man at the front desk who took the massage fee before massage. I wanted to be sure I gave the cash tip directly to our masseuse. Parking is busy. They have valet parking. However, we parked a block away where there is 2 hour parking instead of 1. Shop is on second floor. There is an elevator and stairs on each side of building.

Serene Thai Spa was a serious GAME CHANGER to my massage preferences! I opted for the 90 minute combination massage and it was worth every penny. I made an appointment in advance just to be safe and was seen right away. The facility is quiet and clean plus they give you slippers to wear once you go back into the massage rooms. The website did say the masseuse could walk on your body upon request but it did feel like that was done regardless; but it was the type of "pain" that you know will feel great and SERENE once you were done. I opted to add hot stones for an additional $10 which was very much worth it. My massage lasted the full 90 minutes and it was full of just the right amounts of stretching. My masseuses bones cracked more than mine probably did overall. Parking was free and there is a somewhat small lot where you could park up to 90 minutes (I believe) which was convenient. I will definitely be back!

Been coming here close to three years now. Wife and I luv it. We do couples massages and foot massages. It's quiet, friendly and affordable. Been to some other spots around town but keep coming back here

This was the worst Thai massage place in a while. Front desk triple booked therapists as I overheard the receptionist apologize to customers, my therapist was 30 mins late, receptionist doesn't speak English well enough to communicate, it's one shared space in the back and you can hear each customer complain to their therapist. I listened to guy complain his therapist wasn't massing his glutes and she says she does not massage private areas, they turn on lights in the middle of your massage to clean the other spaces (remember one big shared space split up by dividers). All this to say, go to Sense Wellness Thai Spa off Vine and Melrose, much better customer service, same prices, better experiences. Ask for Marsha, Apple or Tim. I tried this new place out because they were all booked last week. Also lingering pain following the massage is what prompted this review. Don't go there. Trust the low reviews - those are people who have standards!

It was mine and my sis's first time & the highly rated reviews lured us to this place! We both decided to get deep tissue massages for 1.5 hrs. Wow, I was blown away by my experience! My massage therapist's name was Ellie. Phenomenal!!!All I told her was I like hard pressure & she blew me away. She climbed up on the bed with me and started w a normal massage w oil then placed a thin sheet on my back, then started walking on my back! Terrified at first but they have bars w material tied to it for her to hang on to while she can adjust the pressure of her weight. It was amazing! She then continued to massage my back, neck, shoulders, arms, etc. for a good period of time. I also added the hot stones for an extra $10, which I highly recommend. It's like she knew exactly where I needed the most attention! When I thought she was finished, she asked me to flip on my back and worked on my head, shoulders and worked her way down to my feet. Then she had me sit up and stretched my back w her feet while I held her hands backward. Sounds painful but wow, it was an amazing experience overall!!! Please please ask for ELLIE!!! She was sooooo wonderful! I promise, you won't regret it and you'll feel so relaxed and amazing!!!!! Thank youuuuuuuu!!!!!!!

My sister and I just had massages here. $60 for an hour Swedish or Deep Tissue and additional $10 for hot stones. Best massage ever!!! My sister's masseuse was Gina and I had Woody. This is a no frills Thai Spa. No Saunas or jacuzzis to soak in so don't rate it as such. But they do massages right! Highly recommend

For starters, I'm giving them 5 solid stars! This was my 1st experience at a massage spa & I enjoyed it. I bought the 90 mins deep tissue massage for both my husband & I. We work a job where our bodies are our tools & we experience muscle spasms on a regular from day to day stress. We've both been experiencing headaches & back aches. From my experience, my massus was great! She did a beautiful job of relieving all the tension in my spine & neck. My back was cracking like fireworks. She cracked my toes, fingers, ankles & more. Very professional at all times. I felt like I was in great hands. I walked out feeling refreshed like I've never felt before. All my aches & pains, gone. I will be making this a monthly routine for us both. Very pleased! Will highly recommend

I came here with my partner for a massage. I wasn't sure what to expect but we opted for an hour long deep tissue massage. At first things were pretty relaxing but the ladies who were massaging us were talking to each other and kept whispering which did distract from the whole experience. And since they step on you, I think they were holding on to something and I could hear the creaking so distinctly. The massage itself was not bad. There were parts that were a bit painful but she adjusted as I responded. In terms of cleanliness, the establishment was pretty clean too but not like fancy or anything. The shopping center area has a lot of parking too so I didn't have to worry about finding a spot.

I've had this place so close by and I have been missing out !!!! Went today with two co-workers it was out first time. I had the Thai combination massage and I can't even put in words how amazing this was. It was a mix of everything and in the right places. I came in really tense and with really bad back problems and I feel so relaxed and aligned. My person was Annie she did an amazing job she felt the tightness and made sure to release all the stress and bumps. My friends were very happy as well. Prices are very reasonable you will not be disappointed.

Came here for a foot massage on a Sunday at 4pm. All of their foot massage chairs are right at the front where everyone walks in and also by the reception desk. I would highly recommend not coming here for a foot massage if you are really trying to relax. It was noisy the ENTIRETY of my service. People eating in the room right next to the massage area.. loud sounds of utensils hitting bowls and washing dishes. The receptionist and other workers there were talking/yelling/laughing loudly from the reception desk all the way to the back area. No regards for their customers. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING A RELAXING FOOT MASSAGE. I am happy with my massage lady but not for the price. They increased their prices a lot. Their 60 min foot massage is now $50. This does not include tip. I'm sticking with getting massages in the SGV. $35 for a 60 min foot massage.

This place is horrible! Do not waste your time and your money. So I called to book a massage and was asking if the masseuses were older and had experience or were they younger? The man on the phone hung up on me. I called right back and he said I didn't have the right to ask whether they were older or younger and that they're very professional place and then hung up on me again. I called him back and I said the only thing unprofessional is you. I was disgusted. Someone with an attitude like this should not be allowed to work in an establishment like this. A total violation for a customer. It's my body, it's my money and my time I deserve to know if a person has experience or not? So again do not waste your time or your money on a very unprofessional place like this one. Totally disgusted!

Best Thai massage place you won't find better thai massage place than here I usually get massage with same person for last 5 years every masseuse had different technique and each masseuse was able to give enough pressure with fingers

I have been coming to get a regular deep tissue massage for the last two years. Always got good work done from Annie with the walking on the back and what not. Most recently, however, I came in and the massage was very bad and uncomfortable. She quickly started reaching for my junk and would not stop after being asked to stop. I had to quickly get up and leave and she kept demanding a tip. Such an uncomfortable situation made worse by the guy up front who would not let me leave without tipping extra. Needless to say, I wont be back and I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes down soon.

Me and my boyfriend went for a deep tissue and combination massage. The place was clean. They give you slippers to wear before going into your room. I did dislike the front desk lady asking for a tip right off the bat before any services are completed. That's not the way tips work in my opinion. But the reason why I'm leaving a review is because both our backs hurt after leaving this location. We came here because of the good reviews and boy were we wrong. Don't recommend coming here try a different location.

We went yesterday here and We treated no respect and employees were only chatting and do nothing. I will not recommend anyone here no business phone to contact them to make an appointment, there's no way to contact this business just to try to walk in. Whoever the Business Owner you need to come by and check your employees they don't respect your customer politely. I asked the front desk to give us a good masseur for me and for my husband a masseur that dedicated to they're job and worth the money that we will pay.. The Swedish Body & Foot massage were my choice on the menu. Dedie is exceptional! She has a positive bedside manner and does not hesitate to align her energy with the client. Felt most relaxed when Dedie folded my legs into a pretzel style, pushed my legs towards my chest and then placed her full body pressure against my body while still holding unto my hands. Enjoyed the warm towel placed on several tense areas. That felt relaxing! During the massaging of my scalp and neck it was difficult to keep my eyes open. I was completely relaxed! The blue slippers are comfortable.

I've tried multiple Thai massage places in the area. This one is definitely my favorite and my go-to spot (I go 2-3 times per month). The entire staff (masseuses, front-desk) are very friendly, welcoming, and nice. However, my favorite masseuse is Sky. She is really technical with her massage, and can tell me what's tight in my body without me needing to even tell her. She does a fantastic job rubbing out my knots, but also makes me feel relaxed. She is super nice, remembers what I like/don't like, and is flexible with scheduling. You can tell she is well trained and knows where the trigger points are, etc. vs. other places where the masseuses kinda of just rub your back lightly or massage in random places on your back that doesn't really help if you are trying to relieve back pain. My back was in excruciating pain, so I decided to check out Serene for a massage. I chose the Thai combination massage, which I'd never had before. Boy, was I in for a treat. Sophia beat my knotted muscles into submission, twisted me up like a pretzel, and left me woozy. I feel wiped out in the best way possible. Amazing service for an awesome price. I gave her a big tip in gratitude. My back and I will be back!

This is one of the best spas we have tried. Not just in LA but in general. They are thoughtful and thorough, I feel like I get my monies worth and feel so relaxed after. Love it here!

1st time customer here. Woman on the phone was lovely. In person was even better. She set me up with Naya the masseur. Naya was incredible. I have really tight lower back, shoulder and neck pain and she handled me with just the right pressure. (between Swedish and deep tissue) I booked a 90 minute massage for $87 and tipped $30. WELL WORTH THE VISIT! The place is nothing fancy, no frills, but clean, neat and relaxing. The ONLY thing I would recommend to the owners is: relaxing massage music in the background and a pleasant candle in each room during the massage. Not an expensive ask, and definitely will add more customers. Might bring my own candle and music next trip! DEF returning to Naya!

I realize my review was literally older than my first child, and also that I've been a patron of Serene Thai for over 10 years. I have been to almost every massage place in Ktown, I've even to the Chinese ones, the Korean ones and the Thai ones... and this one is the best. There is a reason I kept going back. Now my boyfriend and I are addicted and can't go a week without a visit. Highly recommend Tiffany if you want that deep tissue. Dee Dee is also amazing for a nice deep but relaxing massage. Herbie is my boyfriends favorite but to be honest, they are all amazing.

Great spot! I love that they walk on your back! Sofia and Jenny were amazing! I've had many massages here! Sometimes it's a little noisy so I wear my headphones. Amazing value and usually can book same day!

I haven't had a massage for almost 2 years... by far the best swedish massage!!! Affordable, clean and the staff were very nice. Will visit again for sure!

Gina was my massage therapist and boy ohhh boy, I must say it was one of my best massage. I actually enjoyed the Ashiatsu part using her feet on my back more than when she used her hands on my back. It was both fantastic but with the ashiatsu, it was well balanced and seriously got into all the nooks and crannies that I am most sore. I felt so intensely good that I wanted to cry. She bent my body like no other therapist and I will definitely come back to see Gina when I'm back in LA.

I was in desperate need of a massage and Sammy from Serene definitely provided the best. The tension and aches in my neck and back feel so much better. The establishment is clean and quiet. Parking is a little hectic but well worth it! There is an extra charge for paying with debit or credit. Thank you Sammy for your detail oriented and relaxing massage!

BEST MASSAGE I HAVE EVER HAD!! Excellent pressure,technique,continuity and instincts. Gina was so strong yet so gentle and smooth. She's very gifted. I'm SUPER PICKY about massages so if I'm raving about your work you must be GREAT!! Lol. I highly recommend this place!
