Sergeant House

Well, there is nothing we didn’t love about Sergeant House. Thoughtful, considered and just a wonderful place to be. The staff were exceptional, breakfast delicious, pool divine and the rooms fantastic. We loved how it was so close to the action but a refuge from the hustle and bustle. Morning swims at the private beach, relaxing around the resort and resting in our bungalow. The small things like a sun hat for the beach, mozzie spray (which is needed!) and incense in the room were a delight. Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka.

Amazing place to stay, highly recommend. A beautiful calm sanctuary and oasis. Beautiful furnished rooms. Extremely clean, beautiful pool and grounds. Wonderful friendly staff. Good food. Own private beach well maintained. Would stay again.

Our stay was booked by our tour company. Sergeant House is a lovely haven. It is just off the main road but you feel like your in the midst of a jungle. Rooms are set off a central open space where there is a lovely small pool. There is also a jacuzzi in the garden. Across the road is a private beach area with a lawn, hammock, seats and a small sandy beach between rocks. The road you need to cross to get to the beach is VERY busy though. Service was exceptional and food was good. The room was lovely, with 2 outside seating areas. Thoroughly recommended.
