Ok there are a lot of places that people recommend for “great Mexican food” and as a Mexican I have tried all of them and have always been left very disappointed. But this place is the most authentic you can get, with the food and the ambiance. Their music is straight up my family’s playlist for any family party. I recommend it to everyone. Small caveat: that being said, if you’re from California or Mexico, don’t expect it to be on par with that. This is just the best for me on this island.

We stopped here because I was craving chips and salsa. They really didn't have any mild salsa so that was not good for me. Though I had their ceviche tostadas. They were absolutely amazing. They were very yummy and fresh tasting. My youngest had his usual cheese quesadilla. He liked it. My oldest had the Elote. He enjoyed it. My husband had the enchiladas. He said they were ok. I would for sure recommend this place for the tostadas, rice, beans, and Elote.

Google
Been here around half dozen times now and food has been consistently tasty! Excellent flautes! They also have delicious queso-birria tacos! But no consume for some reason? The lengua tacos are excellent too when they have it in stock. This is a spot for a quick bite… bop in and out. Parking can be tricky. Not a place I’d probably take a large party to eat because it’s all outdoor seating.

Google
We went for happy hour and we all ended up buying 3 quesadillas, 1 sopes, and 1 nachos.. we each had to pay only 9ish dollars after splitting it family style. I've been here before and I love their pork carnitas 😩 the tender, fatty pork shoulder, beans, tomatoes, guac, and rice mixes together so well! Seating is outdoors and it was lowkey windy when we were eating but that can't be helped.

Google
Lovely people here and amazing food. Love that I can walk my dog here in the evening and the walk up order makes it no problem. I recommend the Birria tacos and their “super hot” Habanero hot sauce. Soooo good!!

Google
Awesome Mexican food. I’ve been searching high and low for a great spot for almost 4 years now and finally found it. The prices are fair, the vibe is great, and the food is fantastic. My favorite thing was the Gordito with Al Pastor. Absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back. They even have a nice happy hour and taco Tuesday special.

Google
Consistently good. Probably the best Mexican I've had in town. If my wife and I can't ever decide on what new thing go try, Serg's is always the go to. We have, at this point, tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. Portion sizes are quite large and everything always tastes super fresh. Highly recommended.

Google
Delicious mexican restaurant we found on the way back to Waikiki. The food was really good especially the bean and vegetables dish (first picture). The staff were very sweet and recommended that plate!

Yelp
Cinco De MAYO is the day we went. We saw Serge on TV morning news. So me n the wife decided to try it out since we were heading into town. Food was good . The girl at the counter was very polite n generous. They were busy as hell on that day. I had the chimichunga with shredded beef n my wife had the pork flata. I met the owner that day n he was really nice. Parking was Ok when we got ther n than got pack. The place is laid back with outside sitting. The only down fall was the bathroom outside. The toilet wouldn't flush good n got clog because of no pressure. As far as going to eat, I'll go back to eat to support Serge n his good food

Yelp
I wanted to eat Mexican food and My daughter want to eat were pets are allowed so we decided to try Serg's Mexican Kitchen. They have 2 parking areas and 2 separate outside seating areas, we got there and you need to order from the counter and they will call your number when your food is ready for pick up. I had the Burrito with chopped chicken plate which comes with rice and black beans. The burrito was dry not moist and no flavor it did have inside fresh vegetables and guacamole and sour cream, maybe it would be better to order it wet with sauce smothered over it. Left half the plate uneaten. The Serg's nacho had a lot of chopped steak and sour cream and black beans, which also was on the bland side with hardly and taste or flavor. Not sure how the other burrito with steak plate was, there was no comment and looking over there was left overs on the plate. Same with the Famous Flauta nothing said and left overs on the plate.

Yelp
Went back to Sergs and got my usual steak quesadilla order. Always consistently good. Served with quac and sour cream. I always love putting both inside of the quesadilla and adding a little salt. Yum!! It's to this day my favorite thing from Serg's Also Happy hour serves them half off! Believe it's weekdays from 3PM-5pm. Be sure to check it out sometime :)

Yelp
I ordered from Serg Mexican through Uber Eats, and unfortunately the experience was really disappointing. I asked for a cheese enchilada without sour cream or pico de gallo, but after three bites, all I tasted was tortilla. I even deconstructed it to figure out what was going on--it was almost impossible to find any cheese. For $19, I essentially got three warm tortillas with a dry, unappealing red sauce. The beans were dry and crumbly, and I didn't even bother with the rice. Oddly enough, the quesadilla I ordered for someone else had more cheese than the enchilada. That ended up being my fallback meal, because the rest wasn't edible. With delivery, I wasted over $30. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place--save your money and your appetite.

Yelp
I got the birria torta from Serg's for $16.50, and it was HUUUUUUGE! (The pic doesn't do the torta justice though.) Bigger than my hand with fingers spread out--I was stuffed after eating just half. The torta was loaded with birria meat, melted cheese, guacamole, mayo, and black beans, with lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. It was served fresh, hot, and so aromatic--absolutely ono. The torta was STUFFED to the brim, with the birria meat and cheese literally spilling out of the buns and off the plate. Despite how packed the sandwich was, the bread-to-filling ratio was perfect. The bread itself was soft, spongy, and not too dense but still very filling. The birria meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful, while the melted cheese was hot, stretchy, and indulgent. The creamy beans and generous guacamole, with chunks of avocado and a delicious splash of lime flavor, really added to the richness. The lettuce was crispy and pico de gallo was refreshing, which helped balance out the heaviness of the sandwich, creating a wonderful harmony of flavors. Easily a 5/5 stars dish! Ordering is done at the window, and there's outdoor seating available. The service was quick and friendly. They play music, and it's clearly a popular spot--by the time I got there at 7:45 PM on a Wednesday, the line was already building. Parking is convenient, with about 15 stalls total on both sides of the restaurant.

Yelp
There's beginning to be more and more Mexican food options here in Oahu and I finally got to try Serg's. It ranks well among other restaurants offering Mexican cuisine I ordered the Famous Flautas. I got the chicken version and it was put together well. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The avocado salsa, queso, sour cream stuffing added a nice blend of flavors. The plate came with beans and rice. The plate was quite filling. They offer a wide variety of dishes at a reasonable price.

Yelp
This place is so worth it. After hiking the trails, eating afterwards is my favourite adventure sister, this place seriously hit the spot. The various offerings provided blew my taste buds away and papel picado waving in the wind was such a chef's kiss to a beautiful atmosphere. Visiting this spot on a Saturday after an early morning hike didn't have any crowds, however after we finished, that's when the people started flooding in. FOR GOOD REASON :)

Yelp
So yummy! I'm from San Diego and I was getting home sick. I was really craving some Mexican food. The Birria tacos are so yummy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've ordered twice here before and their food is incredibly dry (esp the burritos, chimichanga). Tastes like leftover food that was reheated. The green sauce enchiladas literally taste like they used store-bought enchilada sauce and just poured it on there. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Old style gas station in Manoa converted to a sit down dining establishment. You order at a window and wait for your number. It's BYOB so go by Safeway across the street for some bevs. It's outdoor dining only so sometimes a jacket could be necessary. I hand the lengua chimichanga. (Beef tongue) The meat was ultra tender stuffed with Spanish rice and black beans. They have a number of salsas all on the hotter spectrum. Great spot if you're on a budget as many items are splittable along with byob savings.

Yelp
I was craving mexican food and due to time constraints, my partner and I decided to visit the nearest mexican spot by UHM which turned out to be serg's. We would soon to come to regret that decision. When we arrived, we took a second to look at the menu. There was no acknowledgement from the cashier whatsoever and it was actually quite difficult to get their attention. We happened to come by when there were no customers so I felt that there was no justification for the lack of service and overall care of the employees. We ordered a cali burrito, it was ok. Just okay, maybe even worst than okay...My partner also said he felt that it tasted abnormally sour? I didn't felt that but it was greasy, like weirdly greasy in my opinion, especially as the fries within did not taste fresh or even crispy or cooked??? We ordered again as we felt that we needed a bit more food and wanted to give it one more try. We got two steak tacos... and it was even more disappointing than the cali burrito. The meat quality is just bad, and with the minimal toppings within the taco, there was just nothing to mask that fact. Now at this point, the food is just okay, and I would've given this spot a 3/5. However, the service was awful. I honestly don't care that much about how dismissive they were to me at first but when my partner went up to the window and waited for a while to ask a question about his order (he thought he ordered a churro, and was going to add it if he didn't) the cashier literally just waved him away and said to give her 5 mins (she was counting the till). I understand if she has obligations of tasks at work, but at least say something like "so sorry please give me a moment"??? Will not be coming back unless i'm down bad. Trust me, there's much more authentic mexican food options WITH a lot more pleasant workers.

Yelp
If you are fortunate enough to come to Serg's when the university is out of session, everything is good. If you visit on a Tuesday (particularly) when the university is in session, you might as well kiss your Tuesday evening goodbye. This is all well and fine if you grab a few beers (or Jaritos) and hang out while you're waiting. Many people here do seem unbothered, but they're usually in a group and are just chatting. But if you're in a hurry (or just hungry), no amount of advance online ordering can help you. (Yeah, we've tried that too.) Today was especially awesome (not). We placed our order at 659. We walked away clutching our order of 1 burrito and 5 street tacos at nearly 830, even tho the online ordering system said it would be ready at 730, even tho the system told me my order was ready at something like 745. It was not. I was told the system will say an order is ready automatically, even when it isn't. The ladies who interact with the customers are very professional and patient with us, reassuring us our order is coming right up. I have no problem with these folks. I feel like the problem is somehow (I don't know how) with the system. Everybody is grinding so hard back there. They could not possibly work any harder or faster. So this is a bit of a conundrum. Usually the food is amazing. But today, Tuesday, I ordered 5 fish street tacos. They were kind enough to give me 6, probably for my wait. Thank you! But let me tell you this fish was INCREDIBLY overdone, and simply tasteless - which makes the entire taco tasteless. I squeezed the lime over it and added some hot sauce, to no avail. Having had some AMAZING fish tacos at another place just last week (and having had some pretty great fish tacos here, too), this is a spectacular, flaming fail. We love Serg's so much, particularly the flautas and the Cali burrito. I got the fish tacos today because I had been jonesing for them since I had had fish tacos for lunch last week at another Mexican restaurant. But today's experience was so bad I'm not sure I'd ever order these tacos again. I certainly won't recommend them to anyone. So why 2 stars, you ask? Well, it's the people. I think given the right number of people to operate efficiently things would be amazing. I came in earlier this month and things were spot on, just as they had always been: same wonderful people, same incredible food. Not today. More often, these days, we think very hard about whether we can withstand the wait before ordering, but today was the first time I really felt compelled to write about the food in this way. Maybe they just have to get their groove on. But I sure hope it happens soon.

Yelp
Search raised the price of their Taco Tuesday to three bucks. They're small and it's not worth it anymore. Instead I go to subrosan

Yelp
Nestled in Manoa, you'll find a little Mexican food gem called Serg's. We arrived just before the lunch crowd so there were plenty of parking and plenty of seating. However, you can imagine that it can pretty crowded pretty quick. You order at the window and pick up your food when it's ready. The lady at the window was very friendly and the food came out quickly. I ordered the taco salad and it was delicious. The eating area was open allowing the breeze to blow through. There was Mexican music playing over the speakers adding to the experience. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Food came out quick and was pretty good. Got the cali burrito with steak and it was FILLED. Was really cheesy and tasted good either salsa. And on top of that I got the horchata which was good as well. Would definitely come back if I was in the area

Yelp
I use to come here all the time in college, so its nostalgic to come here from time to time. Food is always great- their fish burrito or fish tacos are my favorite! Sometimes there is a bit of wait for the food depending on how busy they are. Staff have always been pretty friendly. They have outdoor seating, with a covered roof though at times can get pretty rainy/windy since it is Manoa. Also parking can be limited but there are shopping centers nearby if you need to look else where for parking.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday is my jam, but it understandably gets busy by 6pm or sometimes earlier, so ordering ahead online is a must. And even then you might be waiting a bit longer than whenever your order is scheduled, but I am rarely disappointed in the end. Pro tip, I have had better luck selecting a pickup time rather than "asap." If you do order online or over the phone, you can go straight to the pick up window to the right of the window with the register and check if your order is ready. I often get the al pastor tacos. Usually they are greasy in that oh so delicious way, although occasionally they come out a little dry. But my favorite item currently is the shrimp fajita burrito. And I always like their rice, black beans and pico de gallo. I used to get the pork carnitas plate, but it is a little hit or miss how juicy and shredded it is vs. dry and in chunks. Staff is friendly and there are parking lots on either side of the dining area with maybe 10 stalls and some space to double-park if you have a scout with you to run in and pick up your order.

Yelp
It's so hard to find good Mexican food on this island. I always keep going back to Serg's because of its fresh ingredients & the taste is pretty good. The line though was really longggggggg. Waited for almost an hour for takeout & it was an hour before closing! They are definitely working really hard in the back to fill those orders up. People ordering that late definitely means it's a super popular place for sure. They have outdoor seating but it's limited. They have a little lot where you park but it only has a few spots. - Taco Salad: 10/10. Had lettuce, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream, feta cheese & shredded chicken. It's all stuffed in a deep fried tortilla that is so crispy! So refreshing & light. I literally have to get this every time. I used to get tacos or the chimichanga but this vinaigrette sauce they give you with the salad has a chokehold on me! So tangy and a little kick to it makes it the perfect sauce that combines with all the fresh veggies & shredded chicken. I ask for extra cause it's so dang good. One of them had no beans so I guess they put bell peppers as substitute? Never had that before but it was good regardless. - Chicken Quesadilla: 7/10. Had lots of cheese & chicken. Pico de gallo & guacamole came on the side. Pretty basic quesadilla.

Yelp
Casual spot to stop by for lunch or dinner. Delicious food made to order, so there is some wait time. Parking available in the lot, or on the street. Cash only, or order online through grub hub or door dash, (I think prices are slightly higher online), and pay through the app. This slight inconvenience is the reason for 4 star rating. It gets pretty busy around dinner time, so go early! Tables available for eating there- nice and breezy, rain might get you wet.
google avatar

Meleana L.

Yelp
Haven't been to Serg's since college days back in 2012! However, within the past 2 months we've been at least 4 times already! Cravings are real when you taste their fresh made to order food. Service is always friendly and fun! They get really busy and can take awhile. But the food has been consistent and worth the wait. Music is fire !! Makes you want to start dancing the moment you step out your car.

Yelp
This place has really good mexican food for a decent price. The portions are pretty good for the price. The seating is limited and so is the parking. Depending on when you go, there may be a really long line. The workers are nice and the seating area is nicely decorated. If you're craving mexican food, i recommend this place!

J G.

Yelp
I've eaten here numerous times, pre-tariff, jus recently late June. And eaten what I expected to get. Fast forward 4-6 months, prices increased, no biggie. But please, the little lettuce and tomato that came in the plate, leave it.Justify the increase, then mix in ground meat with my steak strips(chopped)? - is purely evil!!! Bay shrimp to the shrimp burrito, the 3pcs mixed with bunch of veggies was too clever! You lost a fan.

Yelp
Feeling Mexicany, so did a phone order and sent the hubs to pick up. Is it authentic? I have no clue, but it tastes good! Ordered -RAJAS CON QUESO - Super tasty. Only thing, since we did take out, asked for chips on the side, but guess they forgot. Not a biggie, but chips were soggy. CHOOOOKE onions so not good if you don't like onions. I love onions. I think that is one of my new faves. -QUESADILLA w/ Carne - Pretty sure I told my hubs I wanted the shrimp, but since I was being wishy-washy, guess he just got me the Quesadilla. I don't know what it is, but I really like it. The tortilla is thin, choke cheese, enough meat. Just one of my happy comfort foods. -Hubs normally gets the SOPES, but they were out so he got some GORDITOS. He liked it and mopped. Enough food since we shared the Queso. They used to have a serve-your-own sauce - I know people took advantage of it, but some of us do like it saucy, so wish that was still an option. They were super busy but wait wasn't long since we called it in. I think the hubs said there was some tour group or something.

Gloria B.

Yelp
Food was awful! Ordered a grilled chicken burrito. The chicken was pale and white and DEFINITELY not grilled. More like boiled. There was barely any guacamole. It was so sloppily wrapped that it fell apart when I picked it up. Horrible. Beans and rice are so salty. Threw the whole thing away. Also, they gave my co worker fajitas instead of a burrito but maybe she should consider herself lucky that they made the mistake!
google avatar

Yelp
We come here regularly now and it is always packed. We tried ordering online, calling ubereats and none of that help us get food faster. Even when you go there it and place the order in person it is usually 45 minutes wait. I know. It's worth the wait. Will have to go either before dinner time or after to avoid the long wait.
google avatar

Yariann C.

Yelp
I'm Latina & I would say this food truck is one of the worst places to eat at. We got a chicken quesadilla which had barely to NO cheese inside and the chicken was absolutely FLAVORLESS. it wasn't good at all we had to put tons of sour cream to make it "decent" to eat nonetheless I didn't bother with it. we ordered carne asada fries and I would say it was TERRIBLE. The fries weren't cooked properly, the carne asada didn't even look the way it was supposed to look like. It was so GREASY at the bottom of the plate. I could not finish that and for the price it was disappointing. Lastly we had the birria tacos and I could say that was the ONLY plate that had flavor & was able to eat with no problem. The horchata also lacked flavor .. I don't know how this is business is running still, this is not authentic at all. Don't bother coming here. Waste of $$$ you will leave with your belly still empty.

Yelp
After a couple days in Hawaii as a San Diego resident I was seriously craving some Mexican food. We were on our way back from the north shore of the island and found this place on Yelp that had some great reviews. It's got a nice outdoor seating area that gives it a food truck/restaurant hybrid type of set up where you order from the window. I went with the fajita shrimp burrito and my friend went with the famous flauta. To be honest the burrito was a little too veggie heavy for my liking with a ratio of bell peppers/onions to other ingredients that was too high. But let me tell you the beans and rice were some of the best that I've EVER had. A very simple side to make but seriously just so tasty. The flauta that I stole a bite of was pretty tasty and I think I would've had a better time if I ordered something else.

Yelp
Disappointed today. My husband called in our order at 2:30 for a 5:00 pick up. He got there a little early so he could pay but was told by the staff "oh, the chef just got here so he's going to start on your order now!" There were people eating. No apologies. Another party pulled up and walked away with their order in hand. On top of that when he got home there were no utensils, no salsa or pico di gallo. The food was good but the experience and service soured my husband's view. He told me not to go back.

Yelp
The food was so good! So authentic. We arrived, and there was no wait, super rare. Just a heads up, it's BYOB. I prefer that because I can be picky with my drinks. I would recommend to anyone, even us college students on a budget. (Taco Tuesdays) Seating is outdoors, but under shade.

Yelp
TLDR: Five stars for the service, but three stars for the food. Every time I pass the location, I've wanted to try Serg's, so since we were at Mānoa for an event, I figured let's give them a try. Standard order: two veggie burritos. The burritos come with black beans and rice. Inside, you'll find guac and pico. I asked for cheese, and they kindly added it at no extra charge. Also got elote. Prices are reasonable. Around $40. Surcharge if you use card so bring cash. In terms of the food, I think the biggest disappointment was that it was lacking flavor and was just okay. Contrary to what people think O'ahu has a lot of great Mexican places, El Mariachi, Ranchero, Alejandros, etc., so it was a bit of a hit to have food that was just kind of okay. Also, the way the burrito was assembled just didn't work. Because the inside was so wet, it just fell apart. It pains me to write this review, but it is what it is. Service was excellent though. Staff was friendly when taking the order, accommodating, and food was out in about ten minutes.

Gary A.

Yelp
Terrible. Uber Order was not labeled correctly. Carnitas burrito under cooked and salty. Paid for 4 side orders of salsa and only got 1.

Kylee G.

Yelp
Ordered Birria tacos. All fat. No color For the price DEFINITELY NOT worth it. Expected better.

Yelp
The Good: * I don't know why it took me so long to try this place out in person! I've always at it at like food truck events or catering and it was good then, but even better in person :) * Good location with parking * Did you know they sell breakfast?? I need to go back to try * Their carne asada is delicious! * Their sauces are awesome, I could straight up drink that shizzz The Bad: * Prices are high, but worth it The Weird: * There were these tarps that were strung up on one side and I was like... what for??? Wind! Lol.

Yelp
I was excited when my friends said they wanted to come here for lunch because I've driven by before and had seen lots of people eating. It's a food truck with outdoor seating. I ordered the burrito with roasted vegetables. First issue I had was the price charged was not the price on the menu. I pointed this out to the cashier and she just said the amount I was charged is the price of the burrito. They should update the menu then. They also charge for a small condiment cup of salsa which I have never been charged salsa at a Mexican restaurant before. The menu said burrito is stuffed with guacamole and pico de gallo. Mine had none. My burrito just had roasted vegetables wrapped in tortilla. It tasted alright. The side of rice and beans were salty. Service was meh but I didn't dock any stars because of that. Figured they were just busy.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican place on the island but it's not like eating in Los Angeles Mexican food. It more like 3.5 better than average for the island. I got the chimichanga's with carnitas. The carnitas was moist but so fried, to me it was like a chili verde. The fried burritos was fried but not crispy enough for me. The Al pastor burrito was good but kind of salty for me. If I crave Mexican I'll probably be back, the weather is much cooler so if you come for dinner bring something warm. It has a great out door area and parking.

Noah M.

Yelp
Carne asada tacos were probably the worst ive ever had. Sucks that sergs fell off it used to be pretty decent. They were nice enough to bring me 2 for free after i asked if they got my order correct but the quality has gone down a lot.
google avatar

Myning C.

Yelp
The rice was excellent so flavorful- the burrito blah cause tortilla was not sufficiently heated and the black beans were not cooked thoroughly- the tamirindo tasted very artificial - i couldn't even drink it - it was Not Tamarindo at all -had to dump it

Yelp
Such a great location and friendly service. I wish the food was better. Not that it's terrible or anything...it just misses the mark on occasion. We've been a few time and find their Manoa valley outdoor dining to be a charming. Counter service is fast, efficient and warm. Recently we ordered the Chicken Enchiladas with Spicy Green sauce. The chicken was well-cooked, shredded white meat with some nice flavor. The tortillas are store-bought but ok. The spicy green sauce was really unbalanced. Overly salty...pronounced garlic flavor and hints of habanero that just didn't seem to work. The refried black beans were tasty but dry. The Spanish rice bland. We also ordered chips and salsa. Chips were good with a homemade flavor, but the salsa is just meh. Again...it's not all bad...but I suspect they have been the only game in town, especially for Manoa valley and they need to venture out and see what other Mexican places are doing. I still love Serg's and we'll go back but perhaps with lowered expectations.

Yelp
Food is still great but not offered or given utensils, and only one salsa for two plates!

Yelp
This is an awesome place to satisfy your Mexican food craving. Placed a phone order and got a Cali burrito with carne asada. The lady on the phone said it would be ready in 25 min. I've been seeing some reviews saying that the wait time can be inconsistent. But when I went to pick up my order after the 25 min, I waited only for a few more min for them to bring it out. Not bad! The Cali burrito with carne asada really hit the spot. It's the perfect size and the right amount of ingredients. A nice meat to topping ratio. The fries in there are good too. I recommended getting it with both the mild green and hot salsa. Heads up that an extra salsa costs $1! Check this place out if you love a good California burrito. Their other menu items look great too!

Yelp
The food is awesome. Service is crazy slow. 40 minutes for one burrito. The out door parking lot with tables is not great, but the food is good, if you got the time.

Yelp
We always enjoy eating take out from Serg's. My go to is typically the Flautas, but I was determined to try something different today. We were ordering online, so I was bummed when the potato tacos were not available, and the carne asada fries were out as well. We did take out and the customer service was fantastic. We ordered online so pick up was quick and easy. It is a cozy spot in Manoa with parking.

Yelp
*While hanging out in Manoa* Hubby: "Would you like Serg's for dinner?" Me, quickly: "Yes! I already know what I want! Pork taquitos!" Whoops, I meant to say "pork flautas." What I didn't realize was... "Taquitos" = pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, and mild avocado salsa. "Flautas" I enjoyed years ago = rice and beans! I guess I didn't remember that when I enjoyed my taquitos! Hubby and I split that and a California burrito (yay, he's converting to more San Diego-style Mexican food)! I was so full! I only realized my error when I glanced at my old Yelp review and picture of my flautas! How was I supposed to know the difference between flautas and taquitos when both are collectively called "rolled tacos" and topped with guacamole and shredded cheese in San Diego, where I'm from? LOL Hubby and I came during an off hour before dinner, so we called in our order, and our food was already ready when we arrived 15 minutes later, when it usually takes at least 30 minutes! The staff is so nice! Definitely go for the flautas if you're starving and want rice and beans, which I usually skip at all other Mexican restaurants, but devour at Serg's! Go for the taquitos if you want something relatively lighter but still want the nice crunch of tortilla and flavorful meat. So now, I can say, "come to Serg's for flautas, a California burrito, AND taquitos!"

Yelp
Life is short queso diem in Manoa... Beautiful Manoa is just a short drive up East Manoa Road which will take you up and away from the noisy city buildings and the rush of heavy traffic. The only down side is parking, they do have decent amount of stalls on both sides of the restaurant though the day I choose to swing by...all full! Aiyah!!! No worries I found a street parking nearby and voila...someone leaves woohoo!! You order your meal at the window which you're given a number when it's ready...super easy or you can order online as well link is on their Instagram @sergsmexicankitchen and while I waited I did use their bathroom which was a nice thing to have so that I could wash my hands. The ambiance here is quite rustic as it was a former gas station the transformation is simple with fun colorful banner hung up on the ceiling draping the semi outdoor dining area covering sides with tent covers. Let's talk about the food...I got the Fajita Salad yum! Starting with their fried flour shell is loaded with lettuce and loaded with sautéed peppers and onions which then is generously topped with pico de gallo, sour cream, quest fresco and guacamole. All that with a choice of grilled chicken, steak or shrimp for $12.95 with their homemade cilantro dressing and I got hot sauce as well "medium" on the side. This salad is quite loaded and they certainly pile it on I see the sauces on the side but just dug right in as I was famished it really didn't need anything as the Fajita toppings was so flavorful with that yummy tender steak. I did drizzle some of the homemade cilantro dressing as it was more a vinaigrette as it was very thin and tangy but loved it as it paired perfectly with the salad. The hot sauce was nice and actually had pretty good heat that I loved...I used it mostly for the shell which I do love as I chip some off and piled the salad on top of it to make a taco-ish bite. Drive up into the valley and grab some amazing Mexican food, I can't wait to try some of their sides as well since it took me long enough to finally give them a try I got some catching up to do. Thank you!

Yelp
Tasted great & cute seating area! Cashier seemed very out of it though. Decent prices!

Yelp
It's been years since I patronized this place and definitely not during Covid. My brother and I came on a whim on a Sunday morning. I was hoping for breakfast but we got there 15 minutes late and they said breakfast was over. I always have their nachos but I wanted something different today and therefore ordered the breaded fish tacos. I was excited to try them based on reviews but was sadly disappointed as the fish was cold. Maybe they were frozen prior I am not sure. I should've gone on taco Tuesday as I could've saved a few dollars. The coleslaw was overly wet and sweet. My brother had the beef burrito and was very happy with it considering he is a picky eater. We are both not fans of black beans but I tried his and they were extremely tasty so I finished them off for him. They give you a picture of water if you are eating there which was very much appreciated as we both drink a lot of water. Considering they are close to where I live I would go again but I would try something else. Service was OK and the food came out pretty quick. There are a lot of takeout orders. And the place gets busy during typical dining hours

Yelp
If it wasn't for the food and decent prices I'd never go here. Service is horrendous- an hour wait for a flauta and an order of taquitos. My fiance went to ask the girl if our order was ready 40 mins into our wait and she was on the phone taking a personal call (he knows this cuz she rolled her eyes and hung up when he came up) and just scoffed "I didn't call your order yet". She was calling so many numbers after ours too. His food tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time, the flauta was super soggy and the crema and beans were hard and dry. Kinda hope they hire a better girl to take orders cuz she was working last time we went too and gave the same vibes. My taquitos were delicious though.

Yelp
Alright so since my last review we've come here many a times without issue. Husband and I LOVE Mexican food and this has become one of our go tos again, especially when we want a variety of items (e.g., not just tacos, not just a burrito). The sope has been good, crispy, not odd shaped or smashed. Tacos are pretty consistent and I've grown to love the Chile verde and that has been added to our routine order. Chimichanga could be more crispy but nothin air fryer can't fix. The chimichanga and burrito are pretty huge portions which is great for planning leftovers. Also we had no issues with cilantro being added and I'm thrilled!
