Waiting area is either indoors or outdoors Relatively organized. Take vidoes of landing and take off. Staff is friendly and helpful. Arrive 1.5 hours before your flight just in case. Bathrooms are not super well maintained though, but acceptable.

Nestled in the heart of Serengeti National Park, a distinctive airstrip serves as a vital hub for flights to and from the region. Adjacent to this airstrip, visitors can find a variety of shops, restaurants, and rest areas, catering to the diverse needs of tourists and park staff alike. This vibrant location not only facilitates travel but also enhances the overall experience of those exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Serengeti.

Hideous landing on a dirt runway in the middle of the Serengeti, in the pouring rain. Very bumpy. Terminal building is a small white building, with a few seats but mostly standing. Luggage is delivered by hand. Floors are all tiled which was perilous in the rain especially as a lot of it is uncovered. Car park was like a swamp in the rain and you have to wait there until your safari permit is issued before you can leave the compound and enter the national park. Government process, runs as you'd expect, at a very leisurely pace. There was gazelles and maribou storks visible in the plains immediately nearby.

Alert : airstrip staff trying to threat my wife on tips. A guys carries my wife’s luggage from entrance (which is more or less 10 meters max in total). Then he asked my wife for tip, she explained that she ran out of small ones and doest feel like giving 10$ for this. The staff stopped smiling and said « just show me what you have » and ask her to change it in the coffee stand. I arrived and he stopped talking and walked away. - He thought he can threaten a lady who was alone. We reported this to the airport but don’t know if they take this seriously. The tipping culture is really getting toxic… Moreover, our flight got cancelled with Precision Air and we waited for 4 hours in this sandy, smelly with gasoline airport. The airport doesn’t do any communication to customers, we were not told the new flight time or any updates.

The check in was fast and smooth. That's why I give 3 stars. But no lighters allowed on board. Which is strange and not even the case on international flights to high security countries like Israel. I then wanted to check in my lighter but they wouldn't allow it. Smoking is not permitted in the waiting area outside. But nowhere a sign or information.

Most basic airport/airstrip that serves the need. Nice people and easy quick process. All manual services and funny boarding passes

It's a small airport but does the job. It's the smallest airport I have seen that has a vip lounge. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Dirt/mud airstrip Centrally located in the middle of the Serengeti. Most locally operated airlines offer flights from a variety of air strips but mainly from JRO and Arusha which take about an hour. Planes that often land here vary from Cessna to Twin Otters to Dash. Within a 10 minute drive of the airstrip you can spot wildlife: hippos, birds and many other animals are also close by. Basic facility with bathrooms and security.
