Serum's Good Time Emporium

Had a very nice time with my daughter & 2 grand daughters. Our waitress was very attentive. The food was excellent & affordable. I loved all the antiques & amazing neon signs. It brought back so many memories of living in Anoka & going there with my mom. Love the nostalgia. No waiting either.I highly recommend. Not disappointing @ all.

Beginning with the drinks- my spouse and I got raspberry margaritas and the one handed to her was significantly lighter in color. I noticed the second she took a sip it was scorched. Being that my spouse is more reserved than I; A new one was requested. There was an awkward 2.5 second glare and silence from the server. With in mind, we originally made food orders when the drink order was placed. Added to that, I ordered appetizers for my main dish. The tots arrived in good time. They were hot and fresh with a good amount. 45 minutes later I got what appeared to be undercooked shrimp and cafe rice. This was so terrible. 25 minutes later my spouse got her burger and fries. Yes, we ate separately. Her fries were similar to cold carrots. Super unpleasant. The burger was horrendously undercooked. All this we encountered over 2 hours and 15 minutes. We got to see four party's arrive, get drinks, receive food and depart before our main dishes appeared. I think this was the worst experience I have endured when listening to a friends reference. Although there was a younger group of four that appeared to walk like mobsters. Was cute to see the front man survey the perimeter and check back on his friends to confirm they are still following him. These guys had a table and manned it for the entire duration of our being there. Also, the table we had was potential for four paying customers. As a party of two staying for over 2 hours this place could have had a better turn out for business. Money was lost for poor service.

It was great. We stopped by there after the fair. They have the best wings in town maybe the state. A wonderful waitress. I would recommend Serums to everyone. And the establishment is very well known.

We stopped on our way to wedding further north. Did not disappoint! Best grilled chicken wrap i ever had. We definitely will stop in again if in the area

I come up to Minneapolis a few times a year for work. I always make a point to stop here the food is great.

While staying at a local Airbnb, the owner recommended I try out this spot. What a great place. The bartender was amazing - she was attentive, bubbly and made great beer and wing flavor recs (wish I could remember her name! It was the evening of 7/18). The wings were fantastic, atmosphere was lively - everyone truly seemed to be having a “good time”.

Holy moly were these some of the best bone in wings I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend the Ol Smokey, and then I wanted something a little more dry rib so I got the Wild West Ranch and Lemon Pepper. The Queso Dip was pretty good as an app. The atmosphere was pretty cool and the waitress was friendly and on top of her stuff. Only downside is we had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table, but it was worth the wait and Saturday night so I assume most other times it’s not an issue.

The service is quick, the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. We went with four adults and three children. They have a great menu for everybody. Great wings, pizza, burgers, and onion rings. The ambiance is retro, very accommodating, and fun. I'd definitely recommend Serum's in Anoka!

Walking in, it is clear that this is a place full of regulars! We were greeted within moments of entering and were surprised at how inexpensive the food is. The decor is fun with things to look at with every turn. We just missed happy hour but we were here for the wings as we had heard so much about them. These are not your saucy, messy wings. They are full of flavor and so good! As someone who prefers the messy experience, I would still order them again! Go up one spice level from where you are comfortable as the spicier they are, the more flavorful they become. I normally am very mild and got one mild flavor and one hot. The hot was amazing! The mild was good but not as good as the hotter one. My husband had the boneless wings which were also wonderful! The server was attentive and kept our drinks full. Over all, it was a great experience. Next time I will try some of their other food. The pizza looked so yummy as it was brought out to the table next to us. It is impossible to leave here hungry!

I'm not into bars. Friends restate an invitation I'd set aside. Yeah, sure. The Yelp average of 3.5 isn't great, but it certainly could be worse. I get there, and you have three distinct environments between the chill large downstairs bar, the slightly-divey upstairs bar area where live shows occur, and the upstairs patio. If hearing each other talk is a priority, opt for the downstairs or patio areas. They're known for their wings and mini corn dogs. We get a large wing order of five flavors to share between five people along with corn dogs and tots. We loved the massive platter that the wings come out so nicely displayed on, and friends were impressed by the size of the wings. The corn dogs and tots were good, too. After dining downstairs and settling our tab, we went upstairs to join the merrymakers dancing and singing along to the live music upstairs. After their last set, we went outside to continue the night and didn't leave until the very end of the night. Super chill spot that sits just on the edge of being a dive bar. Very cool servers and bouncers. I'm not into bars, but I'd absolutely visit this spot again!

Whenever we come to MN to visit family, we always try to stop by at Serums for the wings. We have tried the ribs, and pizza and they were just mid. We did just try the Jalapeño Poppers and we all liked them. Again, we only usually come here for the wings. The wings are really good. We always ask for them to be cooked extra crispy and it makes a big difference. Normal cook time tend to leave the flats a little to gummy for my preference. Always a fan of serums! This is our go to spot in Anoka and the servers are always great and accommodating of our typically large group. This time I go mozzarella sticks, mini corn dogs, tots, and wings. Everything is fantastic and usually comes quick. It was also happy hour so I got a few drinks. This place has great prices it's a good place to start an evening of bar hopping in DTA!

This earns its name a fun place to stop for a bite to eat. The food is inexpensive, the vibes are good. You won't be disappointed. FOOD: I am boring and got a salad (which as expected isn't their "bread-and-butter") but all the items you would expect to be good here are good! I have had their meatball sub in the past and that was very enjoyable! AMBIANCE: fun, medium-loud but positive environment. SERVICE: friendly, helpful, and have a "small shop" feel.

Serums is a great place. It's known for its wings and kind of a tourist spot since people will travel here just to try the wings. They have bone in and boneless and lots of different sauces. I've only ever tried the wings so I can't speak to the other food but the wings were indeed good. The "medium" sauce was not even a little spicy so if you are e looking for some spice I'd go at least to the "hot". The inside is very cool. It has cool decor and gives off dive bar vibes. (In a good way). The server we had was nice and we went on a quiet day so everything was made super fast. Would deff go back!

Love the whole vintage vibe here. There were no dry rub wings, so I opted for the Cajun Wings & side salad deal (not as messy as other wings). Everyone at the table enjoyed the food here. Great service from our server, Michelle!

Serums had the best wings in MN!! With a variety of different sauce options to choose from, you're guaranteed to find a flavor that you love! Their fries are always served piping hot, and are amazing dipped in their house made blue cheese! The restaraunt is always lively and fun atmosphere, the staff is friendly and very efficient!

If you're in the mood for wings, this is apparently the place to go in the Twin Cities. We've never visited, but on a recent weekend we ventured into Anoka to try it out. We arrived around six and the place was completely packed. There was a line going slightly up the stairs to be seated. Instead of waiting down below, we ventured up top where there was a second bar and lots of additional seating, although barely any seats were open. We grabbed two stools along the side wall and were greeted by a server within five minutes. We ordered a sampler of different types of wings, the medium, ginger, garlic, honey mustard and bbq. Overall the wings were good. Nice crisp to them but not overdone. What was a little disappointing is that all of the sauces tasted very similar. I don't know if it was because there wasn't a lot of sauce, or if they truly just were hard to differentiate the ones that we picked. We were hoping for a more distinct flavor between the types of wings and unfortunately just didn't get it. The space is nice they were setting up for live music upstairs. You can tell it is a popular spot as the Number of people waiting to get in was steady the entire time we're there, as well as a few hours later when we walked by again. Are these the best wings and all of Minneapolis? Maybe not. Are they pretty high up there and worth a try? Definitely.

Hometown favorite when touring downtown Anoka any night during the week. This place is a landmark for its unique atmosphere, warm low-light, and decor. Highly recommend trying a variety of their bone-in wings with a side of sauces. They're some of the best I've had in a while. Love this place.

The food here is so good for a dive bar ambiance Our server was polite and attentive. If you're looking for live music with a chill atmosphere this is the place to go. The wings there are really good I got the hot bbq wings and the hot Italian sandwich

The wings are phenomenal. Service was pretty quick as well. They so many options for sauces its crazy! We got a platter and different kind of sauces! Really recommend to go here. We sat outside and it was perfect!

I have heard that the wings at Serums are the best in the state so I had to try it out. We arrived on a Friday night around 6 pm. There is no hostess but a very organized cue had been formed for who got the next table. We ventured upstairs and found a couple bar stools at a counter. This is a barstuarant...could you bring kids here..sure...could you drink your cares away here without judgement..sure. We had the 25 wing platter and tried 5 different sauces. Ginger, garlic, medium, spicy honey mustard, and Smokey bbq. The wings were cooked perfectly. Overall the sauces were good but could have used a little more sauce. None of them stood out as being particularly better than the others. We also had an order of Big Fries. They were a good compliment to the wings but could have been cooked a little longer to crispy them up.

My friends had been raving about Serum's for quite some time, so we finally made it out to try the wings, and they did not disappoint! If you can, sit outside, such a fun rooftop on a nice summer evening. Our server was a hoot, relaxed but fun, and very attentive, looking to please. We ordered a couple drinks, a bunch of wings, tater tots and a side salad. Everything is reasonably priced and the food came pretty quick, especially for it being pretty busy around 6:30pm! I was shocked we were able to get an outdoor table without waiting. There is truly something for everyone at Serum's. I can't wait to come back!

Love the vibe of this place, extremely unique and up tempo. Parking ramp near by makes it a very easy stop. It can get a little rowdy on the weekends. Their wings are delicious and have a ton of sauce options. Solid service, pull tabs, free popcorn for an overall good time.

This is the place I go if I am craving wings. They have popcorn and the place is seat yourself. I love the wings here they are crispy and saucy and hot. Service was great. Bathroom was clean. Will continue making the drive to eat here.

Server had like no emotion, straight faced. Not welcoming. Chicken wrap was terrible, barely any chicken and cheese, mostly just lettuce and a wheat flour tortilla...Nachos were not warm when coming out, beef tasted store bought and again not much cheese and too much lettuce. Also who the heck charges 50¢ for sauces like wtf! Wings were good, whole atmosphere vibe was great food NOT worth price...

If you've heard of Serum's you've heard of their fabulous wings! I put out a post on my social media asking friends to chime in on their favorite wing places - despite not being from the Anoka area - Serum's had the most love! So... I found a perfect excuse to check it out before coaching a hockey game! And have went back multiple times since. First thing I realized - they have a TON of sauce options. I've now sampled the Chernobyl (my favorite), the Habernaro Hots, the Garlicilada, the Rachilada, the Goldilada, and the Goldrush. See a theme here? Most of my experiments were just offshoots/mixtures with the original heat of the Chernobyl wing. Here's the thing... you can't go wrong! Every sauce I've tried has been delicious. The only bummer... now Bdubs (which is much closer to home) is such a bore.

I had heard a lot about the wings here and decided to give this place a try. It was a beautiful night and I believe this is the only place in Anoka that has rooftop seating. When we walked in there was no host and there was a sign which stated to "seat yourself." That was perfect because I wanted to sit out on the rooftop seating. The floors were extremely dirty and when we got to the roof top seating, there were several tables that were dirty and had food still sitting on the table. They do allow smoking on the patio where ever, I wish they had a separate space for that. We sat down and it took 15 minutes before someone came to take our order. Another server came to our table and said a server would be with us. Because it took so long we pulled the menu on our phones and figured out what we were going to eat. Our sever was short with us and I overheard another table complaint about her and she said "Yea? Well join the line of complaints" Not very professional. She consistently forgot to grab things that we asked for and just seemed spacey. The other servers/ runners seemed to be good at their jobs, so may be she was new? There is free popcorn and my kids enjoyed that. I ordered cheese curds and fries as an appetizer, but all the food came out at once. They were out of pizza dough which seemed strange to me, so I switched the kids meal to the corn dogs. This place boasts about how good their wings are... I'm not sure why. The Buffalo wings I had barely had any sauce on them. The garlic garlic garlic wings were a dry rub and tasted like they just threw garlic power on them and called it a day. They do have an excellent ranch and blu cheese for dipping. The fries were well seasoned and good. The cheese curds tasted like what you would buy from a grocery store, not good at all. And the sauce was refrigerator cold. The French dip sandwich that my friend got was ok but nothing amazing. Overall, I would say this is on par with like an Applebees. Expect a dirty bar atmosphere with popcorn and chips all over the floor. The food in my opinion was sub par. The roof seating is nice but there are other places in the metro with better food and a cleaner atmosphere.

I'm sorry....WHAT are these magical wings and can I have them every week?? Sign on the side says they sell 1 million wings every year and now I know why! The atmosphere? Vibey - like the perfect dive bar, but with plenty of space (and two floors!). Lots of neon signs and funky decor. Plenty of seating even on a busy Friday night. Live music upstairs on weekends I believe. Free popcorn in true dive style. The drinks? Shockingly cheap - I had two seltzers for $8 and my jaw dropped. The menu? Don't even look at anything but the wings, you silly goose. If you're in a group of 2 or more, just get the 25-wing sampler platter so you can get 5 of each sauce and maximize your sauce samplings! The wings? Crispy to perfection (ask for extra done or extra crispy) - get both ranch and blue cheese (as a ranch snob this one passes with flying colors), and get a side of fries to even things out. The sauces? Unreal. Lightly sauced so the wings don't get soggy, but the flavor is still there. You truly can't go wrong with their long list of options, but highly recommend the Thai peanut, lemon pepper, and so many more. Could the service have been faster? Probably. But that's part of the experience at an awesome local establishment - and worth every minute for those wings!

Serums is a good time. It actually been a minute since I visited. They have street parking and pelntybofnspace inside. Check out downstairs, upstairs or their back patio. It's a divey spot. A group of friends got together to share the wing platter! The wings used to be top 10 for sure, but definitely have been knocked down. I was told this by many people, but was hoping it wasn't the case. They were right. I sipped vodka sodas & our server was friendly and did a great job checking in us. We got 5 different kinds of wings. Honestly it was hard to tell which was which. They weren't that flavorful. They do have an insane range of sauce/dry rub choices. I also grabbed the Serum's original salad! I definitely recommend it! It was fairly cheap and huge. It was a fun night with live music & we finished with some shots! Cheers!

Hands down, my favorite restaurant/bar when I want to meet great friends and splurge on amazing food. There is a reason why this place is on a wait with a line out the door during peak meal time. Their wings are amazing with 15+ different flavors, burgers, pizza, salads, everything is great. Main floor ambience is awesome decorated with vintage toys, signs and fun stuff. Upstairs is usually open and always rockin when they have live music, nice upstairs patio in the warmer months! Great service, always a fun experience...

We were walking around downtown Anoka on a Saturday afternoon searching for a place to eat. We poked our heads into a couple places that were packed with people playing BINGO. That wasn't the vibe we were looking for! Then we stepped into Serum's and decided to give it a try. The place was also packed and we had to wait a short time to find a place to sit. Despite the large crowd, we were greeted and served without a huge wait. And we were not in a hurry. Our waitress was friendly, but very busy. My wife had a salad and 6 of Serum's "famous" wings. She said the wings were very good. I had the "THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN" sandwich. It was quite good! It was served battered rather than breaded. Maybe not healthy, but Yum. I liked Serum's and will most likely return if we are in the area.

Love their all season patio and live music upstairs! Serums is a great local gem for anyone in the Anoka area. They serve delicious wings with a ton of sauces and dry rub options, my favorites include the goldrush and tornado wing flavors. Staff are always friendly and the crowd is full of good vibes. The extensive appetizer menu is good if you aren't a fan of chicken wings. For an extra special experience check out Serums during the Anoka Halloween Capital of the World celebrations. Been going here for years and won't stop!

Good service until this pasty dumpling demanded to see my hand. I asked why, he replied, "Security.". I obliged and he stamped my hand. I'm in my 50s and was done with my beer. Leaving the tent the same I saw fathead spit a line three feet away. I said, "Classy" and walked on. He said some words but who cares what he has to whine.

Classic bar joint - downstairs neon, upstairs rustic, nice outdoor deck upstairs. I had the classic buffalo style wings (they were OK despite the reputation), meatball appetizer (great!) So so selection of tap beers - could use more classic IPA I think there was only a hazy on tap the night I was there.

Serums staff sexually harassed women, makes bets on if they will fall out of their clothing, changes standards per person rather than enforcing a common set of rules, and if they don't like you they will arbitrarily ban you. I have had staff tell me that they were making a bet on who could stamp women's boobs first, they have informed me to watch to the end of a show because a band's singer flashes her breasts, I have had security tell a friend of mine that he would let her touch his butt if she took and sent him a photo of my breasts, I have had security slip my butt. There is a female security that while we were showing each other pics of our kids she showed me a pic of her genitals and her breasts unsolicited. Staff regularly over pours and over serves--at times I have watched people that were obviously alcohol poisoned continue to be let to stay there--even though they were vomiting all over the restaurant and we're clearly in need of medical attention, and yet when I told the staff they should contact an ambulance they did nothing. Men grope women on the dance floor, and security will watch for a few minutes or give them a warning, but if they dislike a female they will ban them arbitrarily....for being too "underdressed"-- while other females come in wearing much less and security allows them to stay because they have bigger chests and they have a pool going on how long it will take the female to fall out of her top. Staff members will drink to excess when on shift. Some staff are extremely rude and say horrible things to customers. There is constant drama because of relationships and cheating within the staff as well. The bathroom upstairs smelled so badly of vomit for so long at one point that I told the assistant gm that I would come in and clean it--and then she finally had someone do that. I have also watched girls be served who were clearly underage. Finally, it is not safe. There are fights, men touching you unprovoked, women getting drugged....so many things that are unsafe and yet even when brought to attention of staff nothing changes. Do not recommend.....in fact....the city of anoka should definitely intervene.

Came here for the wings!! I've heard so many people say this place has the best ones. I'd have to say they were so good! Love the atmosphere and the service was great. Definitely going back for more wings.

This was my first time coming here. The building itself is a whole vibe. Lively, busy, and an all around youthful vibe. The lighting made it feel very chill as well. It was very busy when we came, and it is self seating. The booths are bit small and you go deep into them. Our server came right away and helped us with drinks. She didn't visit the table too much but they were also packed. We ordered some queso, and it was delicious. It tasted kind of airy and cheesy. The chips were a little stale but still good. Then our meals came and they were great! The burrito melted in my mouth, a great mixture of meat and cheese. The wing platter also had good reviews from my company (fan club), but they were not labeled so they had to guess which wing was which. Overall it was good and I liked the environment. If you're looking for an intimate dinner, this is not the place. But, if you're looking for a fun spot to get some drinks, food, and laughs, this is the spot for you!

As we stopped by to visit the Halloween Capitol, we decided to have lunch at this wonderful establishment. The interior had a vast collection of vintage decor through the entire restaurant. The food we tried was amazing. We had fish and chips, a flat veggie pizza and jalapeños mozzarella sticks. We also tried their spicy water which all of this was amazing and highly recommended to try.

50 pack wings - with a side of fries. After a seven hour golf scramble and several beers later, Serums was on our mind. Someone decided to order a 50 pack of wings with fries after our golf dinner and it was a fantastic idea. They had great flavor, sauce sticky to the wing, and not to messy. I would say that I like my wings with a little crisp on the outside, but this is personal preference. 8/10

I like the pizza here, and they have fun bands and karaoke. Downsides: the smell. Seriously the place needs a major scrub down or something. Bar downstairs is small and packed all the time with regulars. Sons of anarchy role players who frequent Friday and Saturday nights. Bathrooms are GROSS.

Was at Serums last Friday as it's our go to local establishment that we have gone to for years. Food is always excellent but this review is for the patrons. We're always with my 31 yr old son who has cerebral palsy and autism. Staff always treats him like a king. But on more than one occasion we are ready to pay our bill, and am told the tab has been picked up by another table and always anonymous. I want to thank that person (people) that are so kind. It's a reflection of the people that go to Serums and why we will continue as our favorite restaurant. It brings a tear to my eye every time so thank you so very much!

If you don't believe these are the best wings in Minnesota, then keep on scrolling. I could easily eat a tray of these everyday and die a happy fat young man. The vast majority in sauces, dry rubs, and heat are undoubtedly unmatched for how amazing each one is. If you can't find one you love, you probably don't actually like wings and should maybe go get checked. There's no way I could ever go here and not get a variety because they all are just so well done. Thankfully I visited at a time when it doesn't get very busy because apparently they become very busy. The wings took some time but we did order almost 60 and had 8 different flavors. My top 3: lemon pepper which was just shocking how perfectly balanced the lemon, salt combo is. 2 tornado: a perfect combination of spice and bbq, I don't know how you did it but keep her going. Lastly the Chernobyl was just perfect spice and flavor. Lastly the building is old, full of antiques, and has a rich history. They retained the structure, rich brick, beautiful floor, and original door. If you haven't been there, go. The staff was very friendly, drinks were reasonable, 5.50 for a large Honey Weiss, bogo at happy hour I believe. Shout out to J-Me for chatting it up with us at the end of our visit. Classic American place with a divey kind of atmosphere. My friend said they're known for their wings and I had to try them! Super delicious! The staff is super kind and personable as well. Highly recommend for a nice evening

I ordered 100 wings and it comes with 5 different flavors and I only got 2 pizza boxes full of wings. None of them were labeled or separated and they pretty much all looked the same unfortunately. They tasted alright but they weren't crispy as requested and weren't super saucy either. Not sure if they actually are better than Buffalo Wild Wings. It's very confusing where to go to pick up, and staff were kinda helpful but service could've been better in my opinion. If you like to get drunk and eat mediocre food this seems like a good place for that, not for catering a event!

The wings here are unbeatable! No other restaurant will compare to these wings & the fun, delicious flavors they have to choose from! Their one down fall is that the restaurant is not very clean, it needs a good wipe down everywhere.

This place has good good wings and ribs. It's a cool, old building in a bustling little town. There was live music upstairs. A free parking ramp is located just a few steps away, and there are lots of bars and other options in that area. Also, there might be a speakeasy somewhere nearby.

Food is good, classic bar business. Never do extra saucy on the wings (that's what there known for) so there sometimes dry. The garlic garlic are the best!! Tots and such good. Free popcorn! Service is never consistent. Sometimes servers are nice and tentative otherwise you'll seem them maybe once when you order and that's it. Otherwise staple spot for anoka!

I would give 0 stars. I waited an hour for my food and it took 20 minutes for me to even order my food. They where barely even busy the burger was not put together right. Wheel House is right next to it though and it's so good.

I had never been here before, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's your typical musty old bar vibe but the upstairs is great. We sat out on the back deck on a nice Friday evening. The place got busy quick! There was live music inside too. My only complaint was that there were quite a few people smoking and it was a bit overwhelming at one point. The food was delicious- big menu/huge portions. Definitely get the wings!!! I love Buffalo wings and these were soooooo good. They have a large of variety of flavors too. The service was good and overall we enjoyed our night.

If you like a classic townie bar feel you'll love Serum's. The wings are the star of the menu, with almost infinite sauce options. If you don't feel like wings they have other classic bar food as well - pizza, burgers, etc. I really loved that they had an option to get a partial order of wings as a little combo meal with a salad. My brother loves the place so I've been here a few times even though it's quite the drive for me. I think that's how Michelin gives their ratings too- How many miles you are willing to put on your tires to eat there? The do have some outdoor seating in the front and on the rooftop patio. Inside they are using plastic dividers between the booths. Masks are enforced if you are not seated at your table. Having not eaten indoors much since the pandemic it did feel a little crowded to me, but they seemed to take the precautions seriously.

Spent an hour or two there last night out on the roof patio. Food and service are all great, however, the smell of garbage and urine wafting up from the alley was a bit much. Have you tried bleach? Again, other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.

Some of the best wings ever. So many flavors to choose from. They also have an extensive menu and would also recommend any of their apps! Always need to stop here when we go to the city.
