Servigroup Calypso Hotel

The hotel was pretty much ideal for our needs, clean and fresh looking, decent facilities and breakfast (didn't have lunch or dinner so can't comment). Excellent location for bars, beach etc. Bit if a drag to the old town but that's not the hotels fault, just something to be aware of. Room was a little small but not an issue as only there 3 nights. Only downside was no tea/coffee facilities in room, but we spotted that before we travelled so took a kettle.

My first time at this hotel. Its a bit old fashioned however it has a nice homely feel and its very clean. Beds were lovely and comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room which was handy and there is no charge for the safe which was great. |I have been to a few different hotels in Benidorm however this hotel has the best staff I've ever come across, they were excellent, very friendly at Reception and the dining room staff were always ready for a laugh and a smile especially Rosa and Merche, they were fab and fun. |The only reason I have given 4 stars is the food, its ok but basic, breakfast was good however the evening meals were very repetitive, I think next time I would go Bed & Breakfast. The hotel is in a great location, near all the bars and about 5 mins to the beach. Thank you to all at the Calypso, we had a fab time and we'll definitely be back x

From checking in to checking out, this hotel was very impressive. Free safety deposit box, never had that before! The room was a little on the small side but we managed fine as a couple. Spotlessly clean, maid service daily with fresh bed linen and towels every day. There was no noise from the main strip and the hotel is right on the roundabout of the strip. We have been to Benidorm 5 times now and this is the best hotel we have been to by far!|We usually go 4 stars but this was classed as 3 star and I don't know how! Amazing! The food was the best I've had on a holiday. A good mix of British and Spanish cuisine. The roast beef dinner was so good, proper Yorkshire puddings and the beef was so tender! The full English breakfast had English sausages and bacon, very good. The best part of the restaurant was the Mr Whippy ice cream machine, we couldn't get enough. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for the guests. I was worried prior to arrival, when I received an email from jet2 stating building work was going on at the hotel next door. Yes there is work going on but it didn't spoil our time round the pool, they started about 9am and finished about 4pm, off and on. The music drowned out the little bit of noise and I forgot about it. |Best hotel in Benidorm! Well done Calypso!!

Been going here for the last 10 year and loved it up until now. Here are a few reasons this time was different. 1-Before they never allowed hen/stag parties but now they do and they were very disrespectful to other guests drinking from GLASS bottles and tumblers at pool side, one guy even offered an “entertainer” a drink from his bottle and he just laughed at him. 2- Entering the dining room you can wear anything you want, they never used to allow vests, wet swimming shorts or bikinis but now no one cares, you can wear what you want. 3- Rooms need to be up dated, furniture very old and bathrooms outdated, a fresh lick of paint wouldn’t go a miss. 4- Entertainment very poor apart from Showaddywaddy gold their pretty good, the rest RUBBISH. One “entertainer”can’t even sing a song in full as he misses out some words and as for his pool party, oh dear, how these people can call themselves “entertainers” is beyond me. 5- Food gone down hill, not as good as what it used to be it’s just basic stuff. 6- Smokers and Vapor’s can smoke and vape at entrance of the terrace bar and smoke comes right back in to building and not one staff member asks them to go further from the building. To me this hotel is slowly going down hill and desperate for money. Please consider these points if you want to have a good hotel in Benidorm.

Room was smaller than expected, although I am sure they all differ in size, and it was adequate for our needs.It could do with a refurbishment. The selection of food could be better. All the staff are friendly. Ane on reception stood out. We enjoyed the pool party. The hotel is bright and airy. It was always clean. The staff work extremely hard. The additional extras with booking direct through the website were fantastic. It was great to see the show at Benidorm Palace courtesy of booking direct.

Fabulous hotel in a great location if you are wanting to be near the bars and nightlife. Has a lovely terrace bar with its own entertainment. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Lovely spacious pool area with sun terrace. Ample choice at breakfast, staff worked hard to clear the tables. The quality of the food on offer was great. I find it hard to believe it’s a 3 star, couldn’t fault it.

My first time staying here, beautiful hotel, staff were excellent. Lovely to see the ballroom dancing as we were waiting to go out for the night. Had a few issues with my room key, but that was sorted at the front desk no problem. Only issue was the fridge in the room. Didn't work, we had a bottle of milk but that went off as the fridge wasn't cold and the bottles of water we had were room temperature when we got them out the fridge. A short work to the Morgan Tavern and the place was buzzing. If I come back, I would stay here again.

Fantastic hotel with a brilliant location. Two blocks to the sea front & only 30 seconds to the popular “strip” with Morgan Tavern directly across the road. We had a twin room on the top floor facing towards the sea, views were great & I think we were high up enough to avoid too much noise from the bars nearby, although it was nice to hear Benidorm go to sleep & come alive the following day. We only managed to get to the restaurant twice: breakfast, more than enough choice to make a meal from the buffet. Decent food too. Evening meal: again, plenty of variety and the quality of the food is good. Only thing we didn’t realise, when the waiter came to ask if we wanted a drink, we ordered two bottles of beer & these were chargeable to the room. Otherwise we would have just had the water / juice included. Rooms were secure & a key card is required to get about the hotel - even to use the toilets in the communal areas. Pool, decent size but really cold! Although this is quite refreshing on a hot day. They had entertainment on by the pool, with boat races etc, the entertainment also included loud music near the pool which was helping drown out the noise of a nearby hotel renovation. Would we stay again? 100%
