Ses Estaques Adults Only - Catalonia Hotels

Another nice stay at the Ses Estaques a place we first came to in 1995 when the lovely Senior Edo was a manager. We returned following Covid and have had some lovely holidays last year we saw a difference but this year the most disappointing. The lounge hasn’t been decorated as promised. The sea area for sunbathing has dirty awful sun loungers and thankfully cushions to put on them. The food has also gone back in quality and bread / butter isn’t being replenished. The hotel is sliding back over and not moving forward however the prices to stay remain high. Come on spend some of our money on keeping the place looking as lovely as it once did. ||The positives - wonderful location and clean hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful and the drink and pool bar food are great. The dining room staff are wonderful and the rooms are cleaned immaculately cleaned. The beds are comfortable also. ||We sadly won’t return which is sad but we may try another hotel in the area as love the harbour for drinks. Highly recommend Santa Eulalia as a resort though.

We had a good stay at the hotel. Bedrooms was a side see view had to lean over the balcony to see the see all views was blocked by a very large tree so we couldn’t sit on the balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable beds but little storage also a wardrobe door was missing. Food was ok. Good entertainment but only for 1 hour an evening would have like more. On the whole great staff clean hotel would I stay there again no.

On our return visit we were greeted by friendly and capable staff .The room had a great view and was clean and bright with plenty of storage. Daily room service was of excellent standard. The pool and hot tub area was delightful to spend time relaxing and was also enhanced by thoughtful and attentive bar staff. Overall great entertainment in the evening with David Vincent being particularly good. Location of the hotel is perfect with a walk of a few minutes to the town which has a great choice of bars snd restaurants with great views everywhere

When I review businesses, I always want to give 5-stars. I know how hard running a profitable and successful business can be, so when it falls short of standards, it hurts me too. In this case, it hurt worse than others. The breakfast made me sick on numerous occasions--and caused my dog (with whom I share my food) to be up all night with diarrhea and vomiting. Post-Covid, uncovered buffet food poses much too high of a risk of contamination. I personally have seen guests using their hands, coughing and sneezing in proximity to food. Disgusting. The most intelligent hotel CEO(s) re-wrote the script on food hygiene and safety standards post-pandemic. Catalonia, sadly, is not one of them. I raised this issue to the "Manager of Guest Relations" politely who gave me a blank expression, showed no empathy, made no attempts to escalate to higher management, and (ultimately) made ZERO changes. (On the day I spoke to her, the agave syrup poured out with about 20 ants. A few days after our conversation, the maple syrup had about 40 ants.) While it would be easy to blame her (or the culinary team), my guess is that there is no active management on site. They are simply downgrading the standards of hospitality, which is an art taught at major Ivy League Universities (i.e., Cornell) around the world. After living in hotels all over the world, I have never suffered such gastrointestinal distress. This, sadly, lead to a host of other problems--as the nervous system is integral to a well-functioning body and mind. Upon leaving the frequency of this hotel, all problems immediately cleared. 11:11 By way of full transparency, these employees were exceptional in their kindness throughout my stay: the front desk staff (especially Jennifer and Adrian), housekeeping (what hard-working women!) and restaurant waitstaff. Although the hotel has neither the interior decor nor bathtubs of its neighbor the Melia (while attempting to charge the same fees), it has an enviable location. The views are simply stunning. So, despite these numerous positives, I cannot give it higher reviews because it literally made me sick to my stomach...and calls for change fell on deaf ears.

return visit to this hotel but this time we upgraded room to avoid being stuck in standard. Ok recently refurbished and decorated but there was no storage space. No drawers or shelves and what there were , were taken up with fridge and tea tray. Also no vanity mirror in bedroom over table so we were fighting over bathroom mirror. Shame because room very nice otherwise. As usual hotel excellent. Food, cleanliness and especially daytime activities with the superb being that is Dari joined this year by new boy Andres... Nightime entertainment is mostly a singer and mostly good but the same every year and a bit repetitive if you have a couple of visits a year like we do. Just one or two are so awful its about time the hotel made some changes I would recommend this hotel without hesitation, the position is perfect at the end of the promenade just a short walk to beach and resort centre and Santa Eularia is lovely.

Well I'm shocked by the bad reviews! We had a wonderful 2nd visit here for 2 weeks, despite the 3 day storm and poorer weather than last October. The food is great, all of the staff are friendly and the location is perfect. My husband has Parkinsons and can't walk far, but the access for wheelchairs is great at the hotel and in Santa Eulalia. The resort is lovely and very clean. We particularly like the marina, which is really close to the hotel. The evening entertainment is excellent, particularly David Vincent, Passion Flamenco, Disco Divas and Steve Sideburns. The highlight of the holiday for me was aquadance in the pool with the wonderful and funny Dari, and lovely Andres. I also took part in their stretching, yoga and pilates sessions, I even came home feeling far more flexible. They made every effort to keep us all occupied during the bad weather with alternate entertainment like quizzes and bingo inside but are never pushy about taking part. We made lots of friends and are looking forward (all being well) to returning next year.

We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Ses Estaques. This is our second stay as we find the hotel is in a perfect location with beautiful surroundings and easy access to everything you need. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the choice at breakfast was excellent – from fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts, pastries, hams and cheeses to hot options including both English and Spanish style sausages, eggs and more.|The staff were all very friendly, professional and always happy to help. Our room was spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. A special mention goes to Dari in entertainment, who was absolutely fabulous and really made our stay even more enjoyable; Aqua dance is a must !|Overall, a fantastic experience and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Just back from a week at this hotel which is in an amazing setting. This was our 4th visit (the last one October 2024) and previously has been great. |However, there seemed a lot wrong this time and we were so disappointed. ||On arrival we were given a room that had a real sewage stench to it. I think they do this to try and get you to upgrade (even though our booking was already for an upgraded room!) and would have required us to pay an additional €21 per night. We politely declined.||The smell persisted and we moved rooms the next day. The new room was more outdated, but at least did not smell. The staff are very well aware of the rooms that smell and yet still allocate them, which I find unacceptable.||Last year the restaurant was great but the food this year was nowhere near as good. Often empty dishes not replenished, grubby cutlery, carvery station left unattended and limited choices. Often only one vegetable and cold chips with everything.|Other guests told me that they ate out as were so disappointed.||The sunbeds by the sea are absolutely at their end, they are really shocking. The ones by the pool are fine, but try getting one!||Tui reps do not visit this hotel EVER, which is another change from last year. I can only assume they would be too inundated with complaints if they did. I queried this on the app, but my question went unanswered. ||Very sadly, we will not be going back.
