Sespe Creek Distillery

I had a really good experience visiting Sespe Creek Distillery and touring with John Campbell. While they aren’t fully open for tours yet, it was cool to see the distillery as they work toward building a formal tour program. It was interesting to walk through the space and even smell the mesquite smoking box. John shared his vision for creating a California whiskey and was very open to feedback on how future tours could be structured, tailoring the visit to our group. It was also great to see how hands-on he is, being involved in everything from distilling to distribution and hospitality. Overall, a solid and enjoyable visit that shows a lot of promise as the distillery continues to grow.

Public tasting not yet available. Warbringer Southwest Mesquite Bourbon available in some SoCal stores. The lightly smoked whiskey is amazing.

Can I come in taste and buy there?

This is a distillery in Oxnard off of Rice Road. According to their website there are no bars in Oxnard or Ventura where you can sample their whisky. This is their backyard so you would think they would attempt to market it there. Maybe they tried and nobody wanted it? There are a couple liquor stores that stock it but who would buy a full bottle of something they can't try first? Their website does not contain a phone number so you can't call them to get more information. It's almost like they are trying to hide instead of promote their products....Weird...
