We had a good time at SET The Bar. We went during Omaha restaurants week and Nebraska vs. Creighton volleyball. It was packed. We got seated on the patio. The service was as quick as it could be and we got our order in before they cut them off. Unfortunately the kitchen got backed up and the food we ended up taking our entrees and desserts to go because things took so long. The appetizers we had there were the spinach artichoke dip and the cauliflower wings. Both really good cauliflower wings had great breading and really good sauce wish there was more of it though would be my only suggestion. The spinach artichoke dip with bacon was lovely. I’m not a huge bacon in things person but this was a nice amount and gave the dip an added depth of flavor. Would order both again. I enjoyed my drink which was the knockout. My wife got a cider of sorts. My entree I rewarmed the next day in the air fryer was the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, still was juicy and got the crisp. Great flavor I will be back to try one fresh! My wife also really enjoyed her chimichurri steak Mac n cheese which she just microwaved at work the next night. The desserts were both solid as well. I preferred the banana cheesecake of the two. All in all a good experience just happened to go on a crazy busy night. They were very apologetic for the wait and issues which we appreciate and might’ve stayed if we didn’t have our little one with us who was ready for bed time. Great concept and great patio. Super cool inside and great food. Hopefully make it back soon!

We visited on Monday when the kids meal was 1/2 price with an adult meal and it was industry night which made some drinks available at a discount… We enjoyed the smash burger and the chicken sandwich…. Both were delicious !! They have a special Winter menu, which the items look yummy. Our server Blake was delightful and was informed well about the menu. Great selection of sports to watch. I highly recommend this establishment!

We had a fantastic experience, will definitely return! We had the special menu for Omaha restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised. Fresh flavors and delicious ingredients. Drinks are unique and tasty as well. Staff is above and beyond friendly and attentive.

Google
While the food was amazing and the drinks were flavorful, the service left much to be desired. We had extremely long wait times to place our order and receive our food, even though there were only about 8 customers, us included. So, while the food is good, we wouldn't return.

Google
Love this place! I have been three times now. The fries, corn dip, smash Burger and burrata peach salad are all excellent. I don't love the nachos - they could use some work. Beautiful interior, great atmosphere. The rooftop patio is incomparable. There is one server who on two of my visits has had a great deal of difficulty remembering to bring me a glass of water but other than that the service is excellent and friendly.

We ordered a spread of vegan options from their clearly labeled menu — love to see it! Everything was absolutely fantastic even after a 30 minute drive home. Beautiful space, great vibes, inclusive mission and friendly staff. Make this your new favorite spot!

Google
Loved having a section full of non alcoholic options to choose from. There is an elevator available in case you cannot take the stairs. All the tv’s had the biggest games on for women’s sports and there was a college football screen too. Bartender was fantastic! Super cute place with really clean bathrooms too.

Google
Good vibes here. My first time and we went for happy hour and the drinks (alcohol and NA) were delicious. For food we only got the apps which were also delicious, so we'll be back next time! Love it here so far 🏳️‍🌈💜 Update: Friends and I are here every week. Good vibes every time. 10/10 highly recommend!

Yelp
Always a great time at Set! Karma was a super awesome worker who came over and chatted with us a few times about the games that were on TV. It was a full house, a birthday party was being held and PWHL games were on, but the service was AMAZING and fast. The limited time, fall cocktail menu is full of so many great options and a few NA ones too! It's a sports bar with character, that is my favorite part about coming back to set the bar!

Yelp
I love, love, love the idea of a sports bar that focuses on promoting women's sports! I've only ever sat at the bar here, but the vibe has always been fun and i'm happy to see that they have been busy. Drinks and food are pretty good. Not a huge selection of beers like you might imagine in a typical sports bar but slightly more curated. The one thing I wish was a little different was that it was a space made more for mingling rather than sit down dining, but that's the deal just so you're aware if you haven't been before. Looking forward to going to more events and game watches in the future!

Yelp
When foodies mingle off The Facebook, we grab the husbands and head to Benson for some eats and drinks! Parking is a bit of a bitch, so plan accordingly, BUT.. a definite must to try, to take in alllll their atmosphere, and enjoy great company. Started off the evening with their Banh Mi Fries, with a great mix of heat and salt. Excellent pulled pork, and that spicy mayo... PLENTY to share amongst friends for sure. We also snagged their Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which... letsbehonest.. served in a hot dish, with a side of chips, chunk-less artichoke and the right amount of spinach ratio. Texture can be kind of everything when it comes to dips and it didn't disappoint. 16 Garlic Teriyaki wings? YES PLEASE! A little on the salty side but good none the less! Perfect amount to also, share amongst friends. I think a little side of dipping sauce would've been a great addition. Desserts? YEP! That Rough and Tumble Smores (whip is GF by the way!) was BOMBBBB. Something about toasted, crunchy-in-all-the-right-way marshmallows, all ooey-and-gooey just casually over their warm brownie.. ... we also snagged their Cheesecake off of their Fall Foods. It had a.. different... texture, and I wasn't 100% sure where to place it, but it's not the traditional cheesecake texture. It's a bit grainy, airy and the apple compote knocked it up a few notches. Cute little shape that added to the elevation of the experience. LOVED their seating options. Great half circle booths for early 4-6, tables and high-tops. Excellent outdoor space that faces north, with SNOW DOMES to come (or so we've been told!)! *also, above is just my opinion... the other foodies may have different ones*

Yelp
Great experience here with seasonal sips & foods. They have tasty drinks, beers on tap & select wine. I feel their menu is elevated from other nearby bars in Benson area. They have HH m-f til 6pm $2 off house drinks & select apps! Met the owner who is kind & helped me out with a few ?? The view is awesome outside with sunny umbrella seating to heated igloos & TVs on the walls! OMG I love this place!!

Yelp
I visited SET The Bar this past weekend and I can't speak more highly of this place! The ambiance was bright and welcoming, the service was amazing, and best of all, the food was OUT of this world. We had the Nachos, Banh Mi Fries, Street Corn Dip, Cauliflower Wings, and the Set Salad - which were all so flavorful and fresh. The nachos didn't come with a protein, and that didn't hurt the dish at all. The cheese, beans, salsa verse, and radish worked so well together. These nachos, I dare say, may be considered "healthy" if you're looking for that (but don't want cardboard tasting health food!) When we saw "Street Corn Dip" on the menu, it evoked memories of the cold dip you can get at Costco, but it was anything but that cold, pre-packaged stuff! It was served warm, and was SO creamy, and full of flavor. The Banh Mi fries were an explosion of goodness - spicy mayo, pulled pork, radish strips (that I first mistook for onions - EW) and jalapeño! These were huge, so definitely a shareable plate. My husband had the namesake "The SET Salad" and he was in love. Super fresh salad mix topped with an apple vinaigrette, and full of craisins, apples, feta, and the most delicious candied nuts (pepitas) that we had ever had. My husband even asked for a little cup of them to add more to the mix! I had the cauliflower wings which you could get with any of the normal wing sauces. My eyes bugged out of my head when I saw the flavor "garlic teriyaki" - my two favorite flavors ever, combined?! I had to get them. And oh wow, they lived up to the hype in my head. So tasty, with a huge burst of flavor, especially if you dip a little in their ranch *chef's kiss* And we finished with a dessert: The Rough and Tumble S'mores! So delicious with a burnt marshmallow topping, giving you the taste like you're really at a campfire. Every staff member we interacted with was great, including the chef - who we found out was a graduate of the culinary school at Metro, which is awesome! I love this place and will return many times over. It's so great that they are focused on women's sports when every single other bar in Omaha is focused on men's, mostly. Definitely check out SET The Bar the next time you're in the Benson area!

Yelp
We learned about Set the Bar through Omaha Restaurant Week and man, were we glad we tried it! They offer elevated bar food and drinks at a fair price. And it's a very fun and sporty atmosphere. They also have a beautiful 2nd story patio so you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Benson strip. Pro tip: Go here on game day to enjoy all the big screen TVs, like-minded company, and amazing food!

Yelp
Omaha Restaurant Week does it again, allowing us the opportunity to dine at a great venue for a great deal and Set The Bar was a hit! As soon as my husband and I walked in, the vibes were just exhilarating. We came in on a the first Friday evening of ORW when Nebraska volleyball was playing. The game was already underway when we got there and people came ready to root for their team! The whole place was electric! The staff were all so nice. Since it was almost completely packed, we first got seated in the very corner of the patio overlooking the street. We weren't there very long and hadn't ordered anything yet when the hostess came to offer us a spot inside that was a little bigger. Once we were seated inside, our waitress came over almost immediately. I got the Coco Gay-Off cocktail and the ORW menu with cauliflower wings, the Mac and cheese with tofu, and the banana brûlée cheesecake and chocolate cake (husband and I got one of each and shared the desserts). Everything was excellent. The cocktail was tropical but not overly sweet and packed in a good sour note as well. The wings were flavorful without being too wet or mushy. I'm not sure how they cooked it, but the tofu in the Mac and cheese was the CRISPIEST I have ever had! I usually don't enjoy tofu, but this was actually very good and the chimichurri in the dish also elevated it with a different flavor profile. The desserts were both great. The chocolate cake was a bit more traditional - very fudgy and rich while the cheesecake was different with a banana base and bruleed bananas on top. No misses here and the restaurant definitely set the bar! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to the sports bar scene! Love the chill vibe of the decor and the focus on women's sports.

Yelp
So much fun at Set the Bar! We are here a couple months ago for the finale of Love Island! We got there in the nick of time to get a table inside! The food was amazing, they have a great menu, wide variety of options & drinks! I don't know if they thought they weren't going to get busy for the finale, but I do think they could have used a couple more staff members behind the bar & on the floor! Our server was hard to wave down and constantly asking for more food and drinks. I would love to go back soon!

Yelp
Had the BEST time at Set the Bar. First time coming here but have heard great things. Came for the Love Island Finale. Got there 30 minutes early and was shocked how full it was! Got seated right away but others weren't so lucky with how busy they were. The atmosphere is incredible. They do a great job with separation of tv screens showing a wide variety of women's sports. All of our food was great. We loved everything we ordered. Service was good for how insanely busy it was. They had to bring in extra help because of the amount of people who were there for the watch party. The staff interacts with you which is a nice touch. Sitting and watching others around us everyone felt comfortable, safe, and accepted which is what Set the Bar is going for. I cannot wait for the fall for when volleyball starts and we get more of a selection of sports. Very excited to come back here!

Yelp
This place is great! Loved the decor and the food. We sat out on the patio, it's huge. Lots of tvs to watch all the sports. Came in for restaurant week and we'll definitely be coming back. Fried cauliflower was super crispy and the sauce was delicious. Spinach dip was full of flavor. For entrees we go the Mac n cheese with steak and the chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The steak was very well seasoned and tender, the chicken was fried to perfection. Sooo good! You've got to check this place out.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place because the concept is really cool to me, but I ordered delivery so I was just experiencing the food itself and it was just okay. The spinach dip was the most cream cheesey spinach dip I've ever had, I couldn't taste any spinach at all. I tried the Mexican street corn mac and cheese because it sounded unique but it wasn't very flavorful either, just sort of bland, not cheesy at all, didn't even give off the vibe of Mac and cheese at all. The s'mores brownie was also just okay, very simple ingredients because it's supposed to be a s'mores but I just wasn't blown away by anything. I think this is more of a place you go for the experience in person than the food itself. The menu is very small so there's not many options and the food I did try was just very forgettable.

Yelp
I loved my trip to Set the Bar! The ambiance was wonderful and our server told us about a few design tricks that they used to make it more friendly for women (shorter counter heights, ensuring TVs are visible from everywhere even if you're shorter), which only made me love it more. Our server was kind and attentive and the food was very good! I certainly plan to come back soon!

Yelp
The place is large with a lot of outside seating. We sat outside at a table around 7pm and it was HOT. The strange thing was the noticeable smell of plastic. It was from all of the plastic tables and the heat. Once the sun went down the smell was gone! The staff were friendly and the service good. We had the spinach and artichoke dip and it was delicious. A nice mix of a crowd young and old.

Yelp
Set the Bar is atop Shaheen in Benson. Great vibe to sit and relax. Staff is friendly and the concept of a women's sport bar is amazing and welcome! The food is creative (the Banh Mi Fries are great) However, I can't, right now, award a 3 or 4 stars to them due to the bad experience with serving timing I've had every time. I've been there 5 times with friends and I attributed the slow service in the beginning to things settling in a new place. The problem is that unfortunately it has been a constant. No matter how full or empty it has been, it has taken forever to get anything. I went one time to get a beer and they took 45 minutes to get it with several reminders. The waiter did apologize and was friendly. The same happened when we ordered cocktails on another day. And this happened 3 separate occasions. It sucks because we really like being there and the people serving were so nice so I wonder if its a lack of training issue on behalf of the establishment upon their staff or, understandably happening everywhere, horrid understaffing that permeates in stressed out servers. I really hope they improve as it has great potential to help liven up Benson!

Yelp
I'm seriously impressed with this place, especially considering it's only been open a month! Most new spots need a little time to find their rhythm, but they've got it down here. The service was fantastic. I believe our server's name was Shaye, and she was incredibly sweet, gave excellent food recommendations, and genuinely cared about our feedback. She was super attentive and kind. The vibe of the place is really cool, and they're even working on opening up a patio soon AND adding a brunch menu We ordered the artichoke dip, the burger with a gluten-free bun, fries, and the cauliflower wings, everything was an absolute 12/10. They have vegan menu items and a gluten friendly section. Even with a busy crowd, our food came out quick. The drinks were also tasty. They were on the pricier side. I cant wait to go back and try other menu items, but I will be getting their burger again. I've been thinking about it all week

Yelp
WOMENS SPORTS RAAAAAAHHHH. Seriously love that Omaha has a bar that highlights women's sports. I caught some college volleyball and rugby but there's loads of tvs with different sports as well. Super cool space too with great indoor and ROOFTOP seating. Great staff. Food options available including vegetarian options
google avatar

Shaunielle M.

Yelp
Party was required to do grouped payments even though they have tap pay. Spinach artichoke dip was lukewarm. Burger that was ordered never made it to table, then we witnessed another table get a fresh, hot burger while the person in our party hadn't received hers yet. When asked about it, the waitress pretty much said she's not sure why the kitchen is cooking the tickets out of order. Spoke with the manager and there was no compromising - just wasn't a good first experience for our group.

Yelp
We had the mocktails (GBR and dealer's choice), smash burger, chipotle bbq wings, and fries. All were EXCELLENT. Get extra ranch to go with the fries.

Yelp
GREAT service, cute but neutral decor. Comfy bar seating. Rooftop outdoor seating. FREE women's products in restroom. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone, men and women. Food was amazing and fresh. Will be back!!!

Yelp
Went to get an early dinner, late lunch today at Set The Bar. Got to watch some softball on the big screens while eating our spinach artichoke appetizer. Super creamy and packed with artichokes. We got the chicken sandwich, fries, and the salad with green apples, both were very tasty. Sandwich was well seasoned and had very complimentary toppings. Salad was a good portion and very tasty. Service was good and vibes in the bar were chill. Overall will be back.

Sheri S.

Yelp
First off, a women's sports bar is a genius concept and I am so excited that we have one in Omaha! I have tried to watch Creighton women's basketball in the NCAA tournament at another sports bar in town and found that men's BB teams from out of town were featured on prominent screens while the hometown women's team was on one tiny screen above the bar. There was even a car race on more screens than the women's BB NCAA tournament. So even if the food was so so, this would be a great place to go. BUT luckily, the food is not so so! I had an amazing salad with peaches and goat cheese that was to die for as a summer special. The burgers are fantastic, as are the fries. I've been there three times and never disliked anything I ordered. And the cocktails are creative and yummy, as are the mocktails. Finally, the design and ambiance are wonderful and the service is super friendly. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Omaha, even if a game I care about isn't on!

Yelp
Bright and cheery place, food is great ,fries very tasty loved the artichoke dip . The staff is very friendly and helpful

Yelp
An upscale bar with great cocktails, amazing food; and a welcoming comfortable environment. We have had amazing service every time we've gone. We'll keep going back!

Yelp
The food was pretty good. I hope they expand their vegan menu. I decided to try this restaurant once I found out veg edible owner Stacie Van Cleave called the police on local artists participating in Benson first Friday. There is a local boycott taking place showing that we stand together.
