10 Best Coffee Shops in Melbourne | Condé Nast Traveler

"Seven Seeds, located in a warehouse just north of downtown in an area frequented by students and creative young professionals, is the new venture from Mark Dundon, the godfather of Melbourne's coffee scene. And so far, it's a smash hit. The Seven Seeds Espresso Blend has a touch of fruit, the Golden Gate Blend is caramel-y, and the single origins rotate regularly. There's batch and single-serve filter options, too, plus home-brewed lemonade and iced tea. Don't miss the decadent, espresso-infused French toast, which is served with espresso crumb, chocolate soil, and berry coulis." - Dan F. Stapleton

We went there for brunch and waited about 10–15 minutes in the queue. The staff were very nice and welcoming. We really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. it was such a lovely spot ✨ I accidentally spilled the matcha I ordered after just one sip and felt so guilty about it. But the staff were incredibly kind and concerned, they brought me a new one without hesitation. I truly appreciated that thoughtful gesture. Thank you so much again 💓

Google
Absolutely amazing spot! Butterscotch French toast was delicious and well portioned. Ice cream was probably the best I have ever had from a cafe. Coffee was great too, food and drinks were served quickly and place has a nice atmosphere for either a small group or solo outing.

Google
Coffee vibe in Mel. Drinks and food are great No complaints at all. Service is not perfect, can be improved, but understand they’re always busy. Wonderful experience in 7seeds

Google
A really well reputed roastery that takes pride in its coffee. You can tell by the tasteful curation of the space and the attention to detail with all their coffee tasting notes and merch in the cafe. Brunch is excellent too! And they even have coffee ice cream to go

Google
Lovely cafe in north end of the city, place does get busy during lunchtime, you do get a table if you happy to wait 5-10mins. Service is prompt, food quality is really good. Menu options are limited, guess they are good at what they make so why have more choices. 4 Star, will be back soon.

Seven seeds is my favorite in Melbourne. Coffee was light and vibrant with some acidity to me. Love it. Staff were really nice. Food was good.

the meal was really good. French toast, waffle, beef burger are all recommended. Will visit there again with my friends definitely.

Food, Ambience, and Hospitality Reviews - Melbourne

Google
A Cafe that tries too hard to be modern… Biggest downfall is likely poor management as they have opted not to have table service and the service itself is unacceptable, for example they were unwilling to accommodate sitting me in a chair even though they had some at the back ( I didn’t tell them this but I request it because I have back problems ), I also had to get my own cutlery … I ordered the waffle benny, a failed modern attempt at the timeless classic. The Malt milkshake however, was exceptional and quite delicious. Although it was far too small for $12?? Cutting back on things like this is ridiculous, milk, ice cream and malt isn’t very expensive, provide your customers with a decent portion. Coffee was decent, although a large was $6.20 and it was not exceptional. Overall it was a bit of a cluster f### experience, definitely won’t be coming back again.

Yelp
Coffee was good. The cinnamon scroll stole the show for me though! Amazing. They have an extensive brunch menu too. I'll be back for sure. Loved how spacious the interior is, feels like a big warehouse but nice.

Yelp
Got the chance to try this place when I was in Melbourne, and the food was amazing! Definitely worth the wait and the coffee was something out of a European place. I order an egg benedict over a waffle, which was something different. The ambiance of the place shouted hipster to me, decor was very different than any cafe you would see in CA.
google avatar

Yelp
While Geocaching my brother and a couple of friends of ours popped in for a coffee. We instead opted for milkshakes after seeing them on the menu - I specifically went for the PB & J. It was delicious.. the size was perfect (maybe not for $10), but also as it started to get a bit sweet. Also had a taste of the Vanilla & Malt and that was also refreshingly delicious. Will have to come back and try the food and coffee!

Yelp
Yummy choices. Nice little place, friendly staff. Very hipster look. We went on a Monday at noon and it was busy but we got a seat rightaway. They have a 10% surcharge on the weekends and 15% on holidays, which I find a little odd, but hey... I hope that goes towards their emp

Yelp
Only a slight ding for no wifi (reasonable expectation) and not many outlets, but a really great space to work or chat in (and it's very large, too!) and friendly staff.

Yelp
Whoever says Seven Seeds is not a 5 star experience is LYING. This place is sooo freaking good. I lived across the street from this heavenly joint for 6 months. The glorious smells wafting in through my window was enough to get me out of bed and down to the restaurant in no time. The burger (best of my life) was amazing. I mean, patty cooked to perfection, toasted buns, cheeeesey goodness. Literally welcomed me back to the world of food after days battling food poisoning. Everything else= equally as amazing. I used to have a thick slice of the raisin toast every morning before Uni. I still dream of that toast! And the crumpets. Drool! These are really sweet, I mean, they have condensed milk on them. Only get these if you have a sweeet tooth! Anyway, I love this place. Can't wait to return soon! Lovely coffee (go for a Flat White), and delicious food. You can't go wrong!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is well prepared so did the coffee. I had a waffle with egg Benedict. So far, it has been the best in Melbourne. You can see chunks of ham in it. The Hollandaise sauce on top enriches the flavor and also it looks great on picture. I love how the shop is divided into different sections with beautiful settings. Both Piccolo and Espresso rock! However, they did not wash the plates properly. I have to change plate twice to get a stain "less" plate.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and coffee! It is a bit hidden as its entrance is on a small alley that you won't expect to find an open business. Espresso infused french toasts are light and absolutely delicious! Pleasantly surprised by the chicken carbano as it's much more flavorful than expected, with pickles which makes it very refreshing.

Yelp
I went here for breakfast with my mum. The place is very cosy and comfortable with very nice decoration. We had eggs Benedict with waffle and French toast.. The eggs benedict with waffle is a must to try....it texture and sauce is so nice......French toast is light and fluffy.....I would love to come back here and try other dishes

Yelp
It's located in an urban street surrounded by what looks like warehouses. Wanted to check it out because it was on Berkeley Street, and ordered the chicken sandwich, breakfast burger, and the flat white. Chicken sandwich was very tasty, but the sausage on the breakfast burger was too greasy and sweet. The combination with the sweet sauce was synergistic, and not in a good way. We couldn't finish half the burger, would not recommend unless your palette favours the sickenly sweet. Be warned that there's a 10% surcharge on the weekend, and 15% on holidays.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little place to visit. Not only are the staff amazingly friendly but the coffee is excellent and the tasty food. Everything was so flavorful and better than I hoped for! Service was great. Very friendly staff! In this cofe, it is a pleasant atmosphere and a wonderful coffee is served there. I like to eat here: Potato cake with roast beef and poached eggs. yummyyy!

Yelp
Sunday morning (Father's day) was über busy with a mixed demographic of students, families acouples Exposed brick, concrete floors, high ceilings create a cool if somewhat hectic vibe inside (there is an open kitchen with cooks and baristas running about) Ordered a short macchiato - good temp, touch bitter, beans roasted a touch long perhaps? After quite a wait (mind you I was warned before I sat down), my huevos rancheros looked beautiful and tasted fresh, perfectly fried eggs, micro herbs .. I enjoyed the contrasting textures of the salsa, beans and tostadas. However the tomato felt like it had a bit too much tomato paste in it.. I would have preferred a cleaner tomato flavour. All in all the experience was fine. Papers - yep Music - good background tunes, electronic, chill out.

Yelp
Being a coffee snob, ive always appreciated certain coffee beans. I like my blended over origin. I like vittoria, seven seeds, and Campos coffee. So when I found out that seven seeds had their own cafe in Melbourne, how could I not go. At 9am on a Sunday, it was easy to get seated straightaway though by eleven, two or three groups were waiting to be seated. The menu looked fantastic with something called heirloom carrot toast with lemon ricotta, smashed avocado, greens and chilli dukkah for 14 dollars and 2 dollars for a poached egg. I couldn't wait to taste carrot toast and lemon ricotta. My friend ordered their French toast. We got a skim mocha (extra hot) and a soy cappuccino. Though service was quick, the coffee and meal were disappointing. My mocha was tiny for 4.30, tepid, no coffee or chocolate flavour. Felt like I was drinking milk. Very very disappointing. The heirloom carrot toast was spiralized carrot and greens on sourdough toast slathered in guacamole and ricotta. The ricotta didn't have a lemony flavour. The chilli dukkah was flavorless. And the menu lied. It was not carrot toast. It was carrot on toast. The most disappointing breakfast I've ever had. Everything tasted bland and the same. And to add to it the coffee was not even hot or tasted like coffee. Bad barista day perhaps? Points for quick service, presentation of food and price.

Yelp
Stopped here a couple of times when we were in Melbourne. This place is easy to miss as it blends it with the surrounding buildings as it has an unassuming facade. But so glad we stopped in to grab a bite. I got the eggs and waffle benedict, which was great! My friend got the coconut crunch french toast which was also really great. Also, it's a great place to get some work done -- has good coffee but no wifi unfortunately.

Yelp
Food: Mind blowing. I personally love the Roasted mushrooms on toast and Eggs ben on waffle. Classics. I have brought numerous visitors (non aussies and aussies) there and no one ever has anything bad to say about it. Coffee: pretty good. One of the better cold brews I've had. Tea was.... well tea they are afterall a coffee establishment. Highly recommend the coffees Service: absolutely no complaints. Attentive and fast hands. Crowd: the only drawback. If you between 9am-11am on a weekend, expect to wait. They are popular! But once inside, it will be worth it. Even when crowded, it is not overly noisy and suffocating Note: They do not have free wifi last I check and you have to pay at the counter. They sell coffee beans! My barrista friend uses it at home.

Yelp
Whether you're after coffee and cake to catchup with an old friend, or you want a late brunch because you decided to sleep in a little, Seven Seeds has something for you. This place was recommended to me by a new friend - it's close to the University of Melbourne, and only a short walk from several tram lines. While it's got a casual vibe going on, with plants hanging from the ceiling, it's table service here so grab a seat wherever and one of their friendly waitstaff will come to you. I dropped in on a Monday afternoon just before the kitchen closed. I ordered the Iced Latte which came from the 'cubed' drinks menu, appropriately named given the giant ice cube that floated in the middle of the glass. Adding smashed avocado and chorizo to my poached eggs on toast- was a decision that I did not regret. Being so close to one of the city's biggest university campuses, you're likely to see students on their laptops, or catching up on their readings. Venue/ great! Food/ delicious! Service/ excellent! Seven Seeds is definitely 5-star in my books. My only wish.. that I had discovered this place sooner. And maybe that my Iced Latte was bigger. But that could just be my bias towards ice caffeinated drinks talking.

Yelp
Yet another fabulous spot for coffee and brekkie! (Melbourne folks are spoiled for choice - I'm not sure why people don't weigh 1000 pounds with all the deliciousness around.) Coffee was fantastic. The hot latte was perfect - not a hint of bitterness. And the iced latte came with one giant cube, which kept the coffee from getting overly waters down. Kudos to them for that detail! Housemade lemonade was also refreshing and not overly sweet. Brekkie portions we large and prices were normal. It's a popular spot though when we arrived at 1pm during the week, we still managed to get a seat without waiting. The staff was all super-friendly as well. All in all, a great spot in the area!

Yelp
Seven Seeds was a solid start to an early morning. Getting there before 9am was great because there was no queue and service was quick. My dining partner and I enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate featuring Mork chocolate. What a delight! I dined on the bacon, eggs and waffles benedict, which I found to be savoury and filling. The hollandaise sauce was slightly better than most and the crisp waffles were a nice change from the normal sourdough muffins. I would highly recommend this dish! The burger my friend got looked tasty as well. It had Wagyu beef and bacon, with another special sauce and a side of chips. It was quite a hearty selection for breakfast but a good choice. The ambiance was clean and woodsy with high ceilings. There was a community feel with the large tables spread out, lots of room to host more patrons. I will definitely be back and will know better than to walk by again, as the sign is painted on the building, so look for it! :)

Yelp
These guys are one of the top dogs in the Melbourne coffee scene, and for good reason. They're always roasting and experimenting with new beans from around the world. They care about the industry and try to engage the community when it comes to new styles. Ask for a black coffee and they'll suggest a single origin of the day. Want to try a filtered coffee? Ask them what they have on and then have it served with some tasting notes. Coffee cupping sessions on Wednesday (9am) and Saturday (10am) are a great way to learn more. They're free, so just rock up 5 minutes early and then have a go! You'll be nerding on about acid and mouth-feel in no time. For me, this place is all about the coffee though. Of my dining experiences here I can't say I've been thrilled. The muesli I had once was tired and boring - as if it had simply been picked up off the supermarket shelf. It came with a compote of fruit which tasted like defrosted frozen berries. The small glimmer of awesome was the "chai milk" but it wasn't enough to save the dish and convince me I'd spent my money well. Baked eggs are delicious, though the portions are smaller than what's normally found elsewhere in Melbourne. This isn't a bad thing (I think for we all eat way too much and food waste is appalling) but in terms of value, I think it's just a tad overpriced when others offer up similar dishes at the same price and give you more than two eggs, a tablespoon of tomato sauce and a scattering of (I counted 8) beans. Skip the food, go for the coffee.

Yelp
I'm going to go ahead and assume all the food at Seven Seeds is as good as my own breakfast today. Life changing comes to mind! I didn't even know I liked pears and pecans but I though I'd give it ago and boy am I glad I did! Delicious, fresh, Brioche French toast with poached pears and pecans *drool* washed down by hot chocolate! Sitting in a Cosy window seat watching the world go by! Seven seeds provides a lovely dining experience. It's crowded but not uncomfortably so and the service was great, the guys here should be proud of what they do! FOOD MAGIC!
google avatar

Tayla B.

Yelp
So delicious!! Would recommend, fast service even though it was so busy and the food was amazing Although, if you're a chai latte lover I would not recommend getting the chai as it was way too watery and not very pleasant. Besides that everything was good.
google avatar

Tomas Z.

Yelp
One of my favourite Melbourne coffee roasters, seven seeds does great coffee, fast and helpful service and delicious cakes (not baked on site though). The space has a converted warehouse feel and there is never too long a wait for a table if you don't have a huge group. The food menu changes every so often but usually is pretty poor fare for vegetarians, they will never modify a item off the menu either so your choices for non-meat meals is pretty limited. Having said that the coffee is what you go here for and the free coffee cupping sessions are fantastic. You have to do this at least once.
google avatar

Max T.

Yelp
As you'll be able to tell with most of my posts - I love coffee. And one of my favourite coffee blends around Melbourne is without a doubt Seven Seeds. Their coffee is consistently amazing, and very different to most blends going around without being over the top. Going to the cafe where all the magic is done isn't as amazing as I'd hope, but that's probably as my affection for the blend is over the top. The coffee was still amazing! Had a Reuben sand which in one of my previous visits which too was great! The place is so busy however (I guess a burden of their own success), and not a great place to relax, especially if your a Melbourne Uni student looking to study. I do however find myself back there often picking up a fresh batch of beans to use at home, where there's a crazy range to choose for all methods of brewing!

Kevin S.

Yelp
I just couldn't bring myself to give Seven Seeds 4 stars. I wanted to do it but, thinking back on my poached eggs on toast and the breakfast menu in general, I couldn't do it. I like the decor though- reminds me a little bit of Axil in Hawthorn - open plan, colours and decor that work well together and lively atmosphere. The coffee is great as well - perfect for a coffee run if you live or work in the area. Their breakfast menu did not impress me at all though and the actual dish (when you think about the price of it) was a bit disappointing. I would return for the coffee though.
google avatar

Ying P.

Yelp
To be honest, I'm kinda disappoint for this place. Everyone raves about it and tell me I should come and give it a try. Their Latte is good, but now that delicious. But he food.... well I have to say they were prettyuch disappointed. I had egg benedict with waffle (They had a ham and cheese inside the waffle) amd avocado smash. Both are, well, horrible. They were bland and tasteless.
google avatar

Eliza L.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best eggs Benedict I've ever had! I hope they never take it off the menu! Two poached eggs on a waffle and inside the waffle is ham hock and cheese! Not the most "instagrammable" breakfast ever but after tasting the chipotle hollandaise your taste buds will be happy! Also a coffee roastery so naturally they also do good coffee. Also they use real chai so it might be a bit Heavier on the spices compared to some places that use powder or syrup chaos. Can't go wrong here!
google avatar

Darya S.

Yelp
My first coffee in Melbourne did not disappoint. I got the latte, and it was legit. My friend got the hot chocolate, and it was a huge portion and came with a big stick of chocolate! The café itself is also super spacious and modern and warehouse-style. Lots of seating available. Prompt service. Kitchen closes at 3:30pm for food. Minus one star for no WiFi, because no bueno.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
We had the jerk chicken and the mushroom poached eggs. Both dish were flavorsome and as we are health conscious, we thought these fish were healthy and tasty. It was a bit hard to get street parking which was the downside!
google avatar

Sunil J.

Yelp
Great little find next to Middle Fish Thai, menu looked good and coffee was excellent. You can tell these guys are experts and love their coffee, just look around at the coffee education decor and the cupping room. My first long black was unfortunately off the mark, terrible crema with coffee flakes floating so I asked for a new one and they willingly obliged and apologised.
google avatar

Sufora S.

Yelp
The food was so good!!! I got the broccolini salad so flavorful and fresh. I didn't even need dressing. My mom got the peach toast. The peaches were good but too thick. Presentation was on point. Wait time was reasonable 15 mins. We were just two people so we got seated at the communion table. The location is sweet! You have to search for it. There's a front tht just says 'seven seeds' in simple text across the walls but the back entrance is awesome with a bunch of graffiti.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Seven seeds is a great cafe tucked away in the outskirts of CBD. A great pit stop for cyclers as racks are provided inside the cafe. We tried the smoked salmon served on crumpets with spinach purée and poached eggs. As well as the caramel crumpets. One of our fave meals in Melbourne. Their coffee is also made in the garage next to the cafe and there's a room for tasting sessions. You really can't go wrong with the coffee here. They also serve it at brother baba budan in Melbourne CBD.
google avatar

Cinthia K.

Yelp
Awesome café spot with some delicious brunch/breakfast offerings. Came here for brunch with the bf during our trip to Melbourne a couple of months ago. The place can get quite crowded, so expect a wait prior to getting seated, though the turnover seems to go quickly enough. Both the bf and I got separate orders of eggs with toast (poached for me with a side of halloumi cheese, scrambled for him with a side of bacon for him) and we also shared an order of their strawberries and cream topped crumpets. The food was simple but absolutely delicious. Everything tasted super fresh, and those crumpets were fantastic. Coffee was also quite good. Definitely worth a peek if you happen to be in Melbourne!
google avatar

Christina X.

Yelp
Dishes displayed in a well-designed way. Nice picture! Many people chose to study here, which is not bad, but means there will be a waiting during lunch time, and there's a high chance that you will be seated with other groups of people. In regards to food itself, definitely healthy food. The taste is good, can be better, lol. Friendly service.

Dani D.

Yelp
Seven Seeds is a very modern and spacious brunch venue. It was busy for a Wednesday morning but the line moved pretty quickly. We were seated within 10 minutes. We ordered the beef brisket hash and the 15 hour lamb. Both dishes were delicious and the meats were cooked really well. So nice and soft. The only let down for us was the coffee. It was a little weak and there was only one size. I couldn't get a large coffee haha
google avatar

Glen G.

Yelp
Seven Seeds is one of the cafes I try to visit whenever I'm back in Melbourne. They consistently make a good coffee and today was no different. My latte was well made with good flavour. It's a good environment to sit an enjoy a coffee or bite to eat in. There's several large tables, some bar seating, and a number of small tables. The decor features a lot of wood (lighter shades) with gives it a very comforting and inviting feeling. The venue is a good size but it gets full at lunch time. I arrived around 11am today and didn't have any trouble finding seating, but when I left a little after 12 there were people waiting for tables.
google avatar

Teri Y.

Yelp
Arguably the best place for coffee in Melbourne. Although seriously, Melbourne has such a strong cafe and coffee culture, you really can't go wrong with coffee at other cafes. But still, Seven Seeds is worth a visit and makes a very good impression. The siphon coffee was delicate yet flavorful in taste. The cold drip coffee was served in cute carafes that look like those where you pour sake out of. Because the coffee was served cold, we were given a small bottle of syrup instead of sugar if we wanted to sweeten our coffee. The entire atmosphere at Seven Seeds was grunge + industrial + bohemian. Loved the high ceilings and loft feel with the rustic wooden tables and chairs. If anyone reading this is from Chicago, it reminds me of places you will find at the Fulton River District. The employees are a little too school for cool but hey, that adds to the vibe. If I lived in Melbourne, I would want to hang out here all the time.
google avatar

Jean B.

Yelp
Two visits, two days, two friggen amazing experiences. This is probably one of, if not the only place in Melb-town that I am giving 5 stars purely for coffee and superb staff. It takes a lot to impress this chicken little and boy did the Seven Seed staff exceed and excel. Warmly welcomed by well presented staff, we were tended to swiftly. Quite a feat on a busy weekend. Our orders were taken with a smile and readily delivered high quality coffee. The decor is a highpoint. It invites the eye to wander around the room. The internal bike rack is a great selling point. Just a wee note, other than the delicious doughnut, a Matt Forbes creation, we didn't get to try any food. One visit was purely coffee cake cheer me up, the other a much needed latte injection before tackling the QVM.
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
Not only is this one of Melbourne's hardest to find secrets but so is there coffee. Recently I have found some of Melbourne's best cafés and then found that Seven Seeds also supply the coffee. Not only are the beans roasted to perfection but their baristas give the beans the treatment that they deserve. When you first walk into Seven Seeds you are instantly inspired. Whether it be the bicycle hooks that make you think that you should be thinking of other methods of transport, or the indoor garden that makes you appreciate that the produce and beans that you are eating and drinking, to the shared table which helps break down social barriers Seven Seeds is a must for any lover of life.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
The Seven Seeds name is synonymous with great coffee in Melbourne and probably further afield. I remember being in Lorne down the Great Ocean Road and in need of a coffee at Falls Festival. There was a nice looking cafe. Pretty swish. Nice setting. Could be good for grazing. But there was also a shitty looking coffee stand in front of a supermarket. It had a big sign saying it served Seven Seeds coffee. That was decision made. Seven Seeds was a regular haunt during the uni days and the coffee never disappointed. What I would say is that their food offerings could do more. They offer small foccacias and other such things. Good but not big. But the coffee is obviously the winner here.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Wow... Killer coffee and the eggs Benedict on the cheddar and ham waffle is perfect to hit the spot on a cold day. I suggest teaming it with a side of bacon as the saltiness is perfect to compliment the waffle and chipotle hollandaise.
google avatar

Alba P.

Yelp
Really lovely place near UniMelb. The staff is very kind and the food is delicious. I specially recomend you the avo toast, incredible!! I also like the special daily juice. The atmosphere is so cool and there are young people. Just amazing! ;)
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
This is a must spot that I take people when visiting Melbourne and I always receive that "WOW this place is cool" response from them. Lots of seating, in a warehouse, bikes on the wall, and a production room where the great coffee is created. Specialising in their coffee brand that find new and unique ways to brew and serve their coffee. To complement their amazing coffee is a Awesome all day menu to suit. Must try the burger it's delicious.

Yelp
I would have given this place 5 stars if the service wasn't so bad. I understand that Saturdays are busy, but we sat and waited an hour for our food and by the time it got to the table it was lukewarm. We talked to the waitress and she said it was coming... no apologies, no acknowledgement there was a backup in the kitchen or they were short handed ... did they run out of food and the chef had to get cheese at Coles? Did they need the chicken to lay more eggs?? What happened?? My guess, they must have messed up our order because we watched several tables get turned over before our food came. One table arrived after us and they received their food first. I also saw a huge rush of food coming out of the kitchen after a long period of nothing. Hmmm.... so they need to work on their kitchen service. The food itself was good and my single origin drip coffee was great! We ordered the mushroom toast with cheese and the chili corn with egg which was really good. The coffee was very nuanced with a light, sweet flavor and so good that I got bag for home. Moral of this story ... bring a snack. You'll have to wait 2 to 2.5 hours to eat brunch. Half hour to wait in queue, one hour to wait for food and one hour to eat.
google avatar

Jane S.

Yelp
Had one of the best cold brewed coffees I've ever had - sweet and flavourful, served with a giant ice cube for that classy touch. Perfect for a hot Melbourne day! Cornbread served with poached eggs, tomato black bean salsa and chorizo was amazing - hands down the best cornbread I've had in Australia. The whole dish superbly balanced. Well priced, good service. I'm one happy customer. Will be back with friends.
google avatar

Frantisek R.

Yelp
OK this was one of the best I have ever been to. They let you pick from beans before making your coffee so we were able to get something to our liking. I ordered mushrooms with celeriac puree and poached eggs, it was an absolute heaven. The puree was magic. Ambience very hipster like but then again every restaurant in Melbourne's Fitzroy/Carlton area is like that. Coffee was excellent, smooth, creamy with slight sweet kick to it. Highly recommending to people and would go back for more. What's cool is that other cafes in Melbourne buy beans from seven seeds so you can get the quality elsewhere.

Yelp
The vibe of the place is amazing and the food was so delicious. I had the porridge with Vanilla, Nuts and Blueberries and I have nothing else to say but giving it the full 5 stars!!!

Yelp
Amazing brunch spot! The vibe and food were incredible. I order the truffle toast and a chai latte, and both hit the spot. Would 100% recommend this place. I want to try everything on their menu. Friendly staff too. Only minor downside was that they had no WiFi.

Yelp
Oh wow Seven Seeds. I see why you're spoken of so highly. So my friend's warded at Royal Melbourne, and before I head down to visit, the first thing I do is check what's worth visiting in the area. Thank you Yelp for throwing out Seven Seeds. Though I almost walked past it with its unassuming exterior, the interior of Seven Seeds is vibrant, industrial chic, and very much alive. The staff are incredibly friendly, very helpful, and no matter how busy, always seem to be so in control. I ordered a egg, Jerusalem artichoke, and feta tart (two of 'em actually) to bring back for said friend, as well as one of their chorizo cornbread muffins... and a flat white. Oh wow. That flat white. Excellent consistency on the foam, and the beans had such a chocolatey aftertaste. Almost buttery. And the tart? Divine. I could've eaten both of them by myself. I look forward to having the opportunity to dining at Seven Seeds, because the food everyone else was wolfing down look divine. Undoubtedly one of the best places I've hit so far in Melbourne. Nom. Nom. Nom.

Yelp
For a cafe which has been established for about seven (?) years, it has not failed me for new inspiration by each of my visit; I dont know----something about soul within. Enough nonsense. I thank you for detailed explanation about their coffee taste, nothing fancy, nothing pretentious, and amateur as I am, I enjoy my coffee there. And chilli scramble eggs - OH! that chilli scramble egg. everywhere. It sounds like a nightmare to the chef but I would come back again for that, again.
