Recommended by our hotel as somewhere that the locals go with some traditional German food. Per instructions, we stopped by around 2pm to make a reservation and the earliest we could get was 8pm (it’s mid November btw). Place was busy when we arrived, and if we didn’t have a reservation we probably would have had to sit outside in the cold. We originally planned to get 2 dishes because we were starved, but the photos don’t show just how insanely large the dishes are. We saw one come out and changed out plans. We went with a salad and schnitzel. FYI, I saw some photos here with a plate of schnitzel and a small salad on the same plate. That is not the case. The schnitzel comes with its own side salad plate that is maybe 70% of the size of the entree salad so don’t need to get both. Only difference is it doesn’t have the meat or cheese. White wine comes in dry, medium, and sweet. No idea winery but it was delicious. We did not order dessert but they gave us little pots of a pudding that maybe contained alcohol but was delicious. Highly recommend, and make a reservation. We are Cochem and considering the 1:10 train to go back and have it again :)
