Update: it's not often you get to taste the epitome of something, so I went back for another. I realised it's not that it loses it's crisp, but it's that the perimeter of the pastry is much more crispy than the centre. I also had the roccoco, but that thing was V hard. Flavour was ok but no need to try honestly The ordering system really is complex, near the door you take your tickets(doesn't help that a lot of people are standing by the door and there's no queue), then you shove your way inside and pay before waiting for your number to be called. It's a 15min wait at 930am on sat, best to come early at 730am or sth before people wake up if you don't want to queue. However the pastry is the real deal. I got the sfogliatella frolla and it's almost the epitome of what it could be. The pastry itself is slightly crumbly and quite crunchy but a little doughy at the same time. It's perfect when you take it but because of the weather it cools very quickly and loses it's crisp a little bit. The filling was great too, the ricotta is mixed w something to give an almost custard like texture, perfumed by orange zest. The thing about their crowd flow is that it guarantees they can keep baking and thus the sfogliatellas are always fresh and still warm. Must try, I think once you've had this you can skip all the rest of the sfogliatellas, even the locals come here

Went super early to this place. They didn't open for customers until around 7:30 am. There were only a few people waiting at that time on a Saturday. I got the sfogliatelles. Both were very good, the round pastry was my favourite. I'm glad I made the effort to get there nice and early. Highly recommend.

Rather long queue on a Saturday afternoon but quicker than expected. On arrival you get a ticket and this leaves you free to have a walk in the neighbourhood without waiting in time. Good range of products to choose from and amazing quality. Cheap prices!

Sfogliatelle is ok, too sweet for me. You can find the same good ones in other places without waiting in a queue. Staff is rude. You need to take the number at the door and pay and then get the bakery. I didn’t know about rule but I waited in the queue for a long time, when it’s my turn, the guy said you need to get the number. I said I didn’t know but I was in the queue for a long time. He didn’t care. So have to do it again. I was so angry. Will never come back. Don’t recommend to anyone.

First of all, the wait was so long, there were like 50 people in front of us. The good thing is that you take a number and wait until it comes up on the screen. But you still have to stand in the hot sun... Then, they messed up my order, and instead of 3 sfogliatelle, I got 2 sfogliatelle and a babà, which I didn't see immediately because they excessively wrap your order in a ton of plastic. Babà was horrible, I don't like this kind of wet pastry. People like the sfogliatelle, but personally, I don't. They are too greasy, and the taste itself is not my favorite.

Fist day, first stop. Last day, last stop. Attanasio is a must. Wait in the live, try as much as you can! The crispiest and freshest sfogliatella of Campana region!!

April 2024 I had to try these puff pastry specialties, and apparently this is the famous place in Naples to do just that. Great to try, but I did not like them. Heavy, not sweet, and not much taste. This store has long hours, and is always busy. It took about 45 minutes to get the pastries. About 3 euros each. Take out only. I love the way they wrap the pastries in a fancy paper wrapping to "take away" as they word takeout in Europe.

We ate the sfogliatella riccia, the cannoli and another pastry. And I am sure I started speaking fluent Italian. It was that delicious. Took home 4 desserts (€10.90) from this place. Tip: Go early or you may not find everything they make. Waited about 12 minutes at around 6.30pm. Nice people. Helpful cashier. Advised me to always get a receipt after paying for things particularly if using cards. Grazie brave persone di questo posto. Torneremmo.

Yelp
This pastry shop is located closed to the major station in Naples for trains and subways. There's usually waiting line in front of the store, and it generally moves fast. I've tried their Baba (fresh mixed berries, although the cake tasted too wet and mushy), Sfogliatelle (absolutely the best in the area), Cream Puff (average taste), and flat square cake (dense texture). This place is known for their crispy and freshly made Sfogliattelle, a must-try here, overall it costs about €10~€15 per order.

Yelp
Ordering pastries here is somewhat chaotic. There is a ton of people waiting to order. You have to take a number. On a weekday afternoon, there were twenty numbers before me and I waited about half an hour. Some of the numbers were skipped, either because some people gave up the wait and left, or because some people pulled multiple numbers. You must order their sfogliatellas, which are taken hot from their oven. You actually see them retrieve one by one from their big oven and pack for you hot. There are two kinds, a crispy one with flakey croissant-like layers and a non-crispy one wrapped in a sweet dough. I think I like the non-crispy one a little bit better. The only item that I did not like was their zeppole, a giant cream puff filled with very sweet pastry cream. Not only was the pastry cream too sweet, there was too much of it, out of proportion to the dough puff (1 star off). To end the review on a high note, the item that I actually liked more than their sfogliatellas was their cannoli. Both the cannoli shell and the Ricotta filling were amazing. It was definitely better than any cannoli I had in the U.S. My mouth still waters thinking about it!

Yelp
It absolutely is your moral imperative to go to Naples, Italy for pizza, but it is also your moral imperative, to go to Naples and enjoy a sfogliatelle! Antico Forna is literally the place to go for this delectable and delicious pastry. They are located fairly close to the train station, and definitely off the beat and path, but literally anyone and everyone that knows how amazing this place is, and they will be there. You should see the line lol. Don't let that intimidate you, jump in line like everyone else, because you absolutely will be thrilled that you did. You will want to order one of everything, and I can't say that I would blame you. If I could go back every day, I absolutely would. The Sfogliatelle is served, warm, and the light flaky pastry crust is everything. Order more than you want, or need, and thank me later. There isn't a place to sit, there isn't a place to wait, it's pretty much completely take away. Have I said how amazing this place is?! I found the people to be extremely friendly that worked there, and they were extremely patient with my questions, and my ordering lol. Mangia!

Yelp
Assorted pastries to carry away (no seating) Each ~1.50€ Worth a try even though there's no seating.

Yelp
Obe of the best pizza experiences we had in Italy ever! Definitely will be back if in the area again

Laura P.

Yelp
Omg so delish! I'm glad we made the trip ...the sfoigatella Riccia (probably all misspelled) are out of this world!!! Fresh out of the oven. Best pastry we had in Italy!

Yelp
Custard filled crispy baked piece of heaven = Sfogiatella. And this is one of the most famous places to get this Naples city sweet. As a foreigner, I stood outside trying to figure out what to do to get in line. First, don't come here if you can't spare a 20-30 minute wait. The deliciousness is worth it, the sfogiatella will be warm and fresh from the oven. Second, go inside, go left by the register, and take a number (ticket). Third, go back outside because now you wait. Look for your number to come up on the sign up top. When your number is up tell the guy what you want. Sfogiatella, duh. "Ree-chee" = crispy type (tens of buttery laters a la baklava-the most famous type); "Froh-lay" = mini-pie crust coated custard type. Then pay at the register. Grazie.

Yelp
I hate being the only person leaving a 3 star review...but remember 3 just means ok. I love Naples and try to go at least once every other year in the summer. It was my last day in town and I realized I had never tried sfogliatella...ever. It made sense to go here due to the location and the reviews. There were a variety of pastries that looked great, a few locals inside (in which I got some of the things they had since I saw many ordered the same things), nice workers, and very quintessential Italian. I ordered a variety of things. The sfogliatella, which imo wasn't worth the calories. It wasn't warm and it was hard. .I had something else which was just okay. I also got small slices of some type of chocolate dessert and lemon cake. The only thing I really liked was the lemon cake. I'm assuming the pastries I received weren't fresh because it didn't taste like it. There's pastry shops all over Naples so I would try out others. If you need last minute gifts for people, I would probably come here due to the location and because they wrap the pastries up very nicely.

Yelp
If you come here for one thing, come for the famous Sfogliatelle. This delicious pastry originated in Naples, and this is probably the best bakery in Naples to get one. The sfogliatelle was flakey, buttery, and warm as they keep it just outside of the brick oven. The filling was slightly lemony and creamy. They also have many other pastries, but you definitely have to try the sfogliatelle! The line gets long at times, but it comes and goes in waves. Definitely worth waiting.

Yelp
A rare pearl. A nice place where to enjoy a lovely and sweet "sfogliatella" ( napoletan cake) . Sfogliatella could be of 2 different type Frolla and Riccia no equivalent in English just test it. Other tidbits to taste are the so called ' biscotto amarena' (a biscuit with cocao at the sour black cherry flavor) and Babà (a syroup spoung like bake). See pics.. Please , don't forget to take your number. Your taste bunds will thank you

Yelp
If you're in Napoli, try the sfogliatelle! My homestay hostess recommended this place and I don't know how to thank her. The pastries were delicate and absolutely delicious. We brought back the sfogliatelle and a some conoli and I suggest you try both!

Luca D.

Yelp
This place is known in Naples as one of the temples of sfogliatella (a quintessential Neapolitan dessert). I can confirm it was delicious, both the riccia variant and the frolla. Get some to take away before boarding your train from Neaples main station (opposite).

Alexandra C.

Yelp
This is not the sfogliatelle you get back in even the best Italian bakery in NYC. About $1.15 each, fresh out of the oven, moist, perfectly flaky/crispy and delicious. 4.5. Voted- a definite must try while in Naples!

Joy Y.

Yelp
There are two kinds of sfogliatelle in napoli- riccia which is layered and frolla which is flat. They have the same filling and both are freaking delicious. Get them hot.

Miles W.

Yelp
Being near a train station/ tourist spot, the food is of great quality. I grew up in naples and have been so disappointed with the quality of many restaurants food, when they're in tourist areas. This was recommended to me by my aunt who's a local. The atmosphere is great as well.

Summer S.

Yelp
Close to the train station. They don't speak English but they service is fast. Delicious sfogliatella!

Gary L.

Yelp
I have only lived in Napoli 6 mese, but so far, this is the best Sfogliata calza riccia I have had - fresh and hot from the oven. Unquestionably worth a visit if you have time to waste at the train station (also close to a market 1 block further).

Yelp
A me personalmente preferisco quella ricca, a più consistenza. I was taking a taxi with my mother, talking about grabbing some sfogliattelle and a coffee before checking out the city, when our cab driver, did the most moviesque thing ever: "did someone say sfogliatelle?", hooked a right and pulled up to a street corner saying:" this place has the best sfogliatelle in Naples". He was right! It's a bit of a line, but You better get both kinds, the crunchy and soft one. It's filled with a ricotta like center and miniature pieces of candied fruit that add a little extra sweetness. It's absolutely delightful, and an absolute must if you're in Naples!
