Shabestan Middle East Restaurant

A wonderful dinner at Shabestan (Shabestan Middle East Restaurant). Went last night and everything hit the mark — great food, lovely ambience, and genuinely good service. We had a classic Persian spread and it was done really well: the charcoal-grilled kebab was juicy and nicely seasoned, served with beautifully cooked saffron rice and the usual sides (grilled tomato, onion, herbs, lime). The yogurt dip was refreshing, and even the little details like sumac and fresh greens made the meal feel authentic and well put together. We also tried a fresh mint/lemon drink, which was a perfect complement. Service was attentive without hovering, and the restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe that’s great for a relaxed dinner. My frequent visits to Shabestan, an authentic Persian restaurant nestled inside a small hotel (Lemon Tree) always make my ordering seamless. We begin with the delicious starter, Kashk Bademjan (fried eggplant). ​We move directly to the main course: a generous platter of Chelo Kubideh (ground lamb meat) for the group, complemented by their exceptional trifecta of rice—Saffron, Dill, and Wild Berries. ​A highlight drink is the Khak Shir, a delightful, sweet beverage made of chia seeds and rose water. This was an excellent recommendation from Alexa, who is cheerful, pleasant, and exceptionally helpful. She possesses a sharp attentiveness, anticipating our needs perfectly—from custom platter arrangements to our specific rice selection. ​Shabestan consistently ranks as my favorite Persian restaurant. A well-deserved five stars!

Yum! Some of the best dishes we have had at a restaurant! Food was delicious. Service was polite and present. Elias was pleasant to talk to. Every single item we had including complimentary bread, cheese and herbs was outstanding, but faloodeh and khakshir were something else!! Not to be found elsewhere! Well worth the price. We’ll be back!

The best koobideh out of Iran I’ve ever eaten! Jujeh masti was amazing too. We also tried the halim and kashke bademjan and were incredible. Ilyas welcomed us every time we came and was super friendly and smiley. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Dubai! :)

As a Swedish citizen living in Denmark, I often yearn for Persian food. I’ve tried various restaurants across Europe but haven’t found a place that truly satisfies my cravings. However, my search finally led me to Shabestan in Dubai. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is clean and tidy, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The food is simply delicious, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. What truly sets Shabestan apart is its authentic Persian cuisine and the traditional music that fills the background. It transports me back in time to cherished memories of my childhood. Thank you, Shabestan, for bringing a taste of home to Dubai.

I visited this Iranian restaurant for the first time and I was absolutely impressed with the service! It truly felt like being welcomed into an Iranian family — everyone was smiling, they seated me warmly, and even treated me with complimentary vegetables. I only ordered a soup to try the place for the first time, but after the soup they also brought me tea, again as a complimentary gesture. It was such a pleasant surprise. The service here is outstanding. I would especially like to mention Khalil, the waiter who took care of me — he was very kind, attentive, and made my experience even better. Next time, I’ll definitely try their full dishes, because the atmosphere and hospitality left me with the best impression!

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening without reservations as it was only half full. The decor beautifully captures the essence of Iranian culture, creating an authentic and inviting atmosphere. I ordered the mixed kebab platter, featuring chicken, veal, and lamb kebab. Both the chicken and veal were cooked to perfection, though the lamb kebab wasn't entirely to my taste. However, I wouldn't describe it as subpar. The service was excellent, enhancing the overall dining experience. After 40 years in business, it's clear why this restaurant continues to thrive.

Second time here, Love the experience both times. The ambiance, the service and the food is great. Their lamb leg is so juicy and gender, the kebabs are great especially the lamb chunk, veal and shrimp. I also love their rice: so soft and light. As for the desserr, I love their rose water ice cream
