Restaurateur Simon Kim’s Grub Street Diet

"At Shabu House in Fort Lee — a hole-in-the-wall and my kids’ favorite spot — we order the dinner buffet with unlimited meat that ends with homemade mango sorbet; the kids love piling their plates with beef rib eye, brisket, pork belly and napa cabbage and making their own sauces." - Ben Widdicombe, Maanvi Kapur

Google
A new Korean hot pot place. All of the made fresh, Asian foods and prepared vegetables and are in bins and on display. There are salad greens and different types of mushrooms and seaweed. There are different types of beef, pork, fish, shellfish, and dumplings for the hot pot meals. The restaurant was not very loud even though it was at capacity. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean and brightly lit.

My favorite AYCE hot pot ever r r r r r r! I come here all the time when I’m craving for hot pot-shabu. The place is a perfect spot for anyone who loves AYCE please come support them. Shabu House offers variety of food and everything is fresh with a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10!!

After a snowboarding trip on Monday night, our group of 14 stopped by Shabu House for hot pot, and it was exactly what we needed! They were super accommodating and set us up with tables for 4, 4, and 6 all next to each other, which worked out perfectly. The hot pot hit the spot after a long, cold day. They’ve got a great variety of soup bases and high-quality meats at a really reasonable price. I was so hungry I didn’t even stop to take a picture of the meat, it was gone before I could think about it. No regrets, though. The manager was amazing, super friendly and helpful and the staff were all so nice. The service really made the experience even better. If you’re in the area, Shabu House is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Google
This is best hot pot place in Fort Lee! Their meat and seafood are always high quality and they have little prepared dishes you can pick up, things like dumplings, tteokbokki, fried chicken. All in all they have a good selection of items you can put in your hotpot.

Google
Great food, great value for money and great service: not my first time there and definitely not my last. I like the ambiance and welcoming staff and how clean everything is . There’s only much you can eat but having such many options is nice . I totally recommend the premium menu and this place is totally versatile and can be perfect for a date , hangout with friends as well as a family area.

Google
We had a great experience at Shabu House! The service was top-notch, and there was a fantastic selection of items to choose from. The premium meat was incredibly fresh and flavorful. However, I wasn’t a fan of the sauce, as it didn’t quite suit my taste. Overall, a solid spot for fresh, high-quality shabu, but I’d love to see some more variety in the sauces.

Google
It took me over four hours to get from Massachusetts to New Jersey. I thought it was the best shabu restaurant ever in USA as soon as I ate it, and I hope people who read this will come here and taste it. First of all, the quality of the meat was by far the best shabu-shabu I've ever had in the U.S. and the service was really nice. As soon as I came to New Jersey, I thought of Korea a lot. I really enjoyed it. 😍

All you can eat with tons of veggies, meats and more. Bring your own wine and beer. Very reasonably priced. Broths are excellent. Always worth the visit.

Yelp
Came here with my bf and had a great experience! This is my 2nd hotpot try after moving to NJ and it did not disappoint at all. The waitresses/busboys were super nice, loved the selection there, and the mango sorbet was the perfect end to the whole meal. I say that they have a great selection because I have gone to hotpot restaurants that didnt have certain items like citrus ponzu, hot chili oil, lotus root, & quail eggs. Also, I absolutely loved the yuzu broth!!! Definitely have cash ready! You'll get 5% off the bill. Just make sure to let your waitress know. For my bf and I, the bill including 2 sodas and 20% tip was a flat $100. Really can't beat that especially for hotpot these days with seafood included.

Yelp
If you like shabu shabu, hot pot, you MUST try Shabu House. Located in a small mall with good parking, including an underground lot and plenty of street parking though metered. It is modern and clean. You can make reservations for parties of 4 or more which is highly recommended. Several tasty broths to select from but I enjoy the tomato based and it is very tasty. The weekend is only dinner prices but very reasonable for a 90 minute all you can each. You can select with or without meats but the choice is for the whole table. The price regardless of the weekend or meat is worth it. 90 minutes is perfect amount of time. Once you selected your broth and with or without meat, you can head to pick all of the offerings they have A ton of fresh vegetables, fish or meat balls, seafood such as claims or mussels or white fish. If you choose the meats, hold back in selecting all of the selections available so you can eat more of the meats. You can create your own mixture of sauces with fresh chopped garlic. You can literally go crazy with your imagination for sauces. Staff is very friendly and attentive, always checking in with us for more broth or water or more meats and most importantly, napkins as it is necessary for your meal. At the end of all of the food you down, there is include mango sorbet which closes out the meal nicely. It is worth the price regardless if you go meat or meatless. Come early to avoid the parking lot getting packed. Bring you appetite and enjoy all of the fresh and dumplings. Don't forget your veggies, it is a well worth the visit Eat and enjoy, visit often to keep them in business.

Yelp
Went to a different hot pot place tonight and what a good experience at Shabu House. Viewing from their broth options to the buffet options you browse after leaving the table. There are familiar ingredients we all see in usual hot pot places. At Shabu House, some ingredients went above and beyond on different items and were delicious to try or go back to get another plate. There is a fresh juice bar when you enter and view your options on the menu. Our waiter/different servers were all attentive and polite. Mango sorbet is free at the end of your meal. When you pay, there is a 5% discount if you use cash. We didn't have enough, next time we will know. Thank you for our good dinner experience.

Yelp
It's spacious and relatively clean. There's not a lot of hot food options and the vegetables aren't refilled quick enough. There is a lot of different vegetables options to choose from and only 12 or so meat options for hot pot. They do have a bunch of broths to pick from. There is not a lot of options for sauce and one side of the buffet area is more used than the other so there's less items out. There is a vegetable only option and the all inclusive option so that's nice for vegetarians to be charged less. They give a scoop of mango sorbet and ice cream at the end which is refreshing. I wish there was a dessert bar instead of the snack bar. Overall it's a decent hot pot spot in fort Lee and is recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! It was my first time here brought by friends who frequent the restaurant. The selection of meats, veggies, seafood & carbs were great. I tried their suyaki broth and it was so good and clean. The service was fast and very sweet! We stayed a bit past their closing and they didn't rush us out. The place is also huge so plenty of seating as well. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely come again & recommend it to others!

Yelp
All you can eat hot pot is ALWAYS going to be a good idea. Every hot pot place does it a little differently and Shabu House really hit the nail on the head. It's located in a strip mall, down a couple flights of stairs. All of the food to put into the broth is lined up against the back wall and let me tell you it looks like the produce section of a grocery store. BRIGHT and options galore. Ordering the broth and meat was a breeze through our waiter and came out very fast. The whole experience was amazing and I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
You cannot leave Fort Lee without a visit to Shabu House. With its everlasting "Grand Opening" sign, Shabu house is a hallmark destination for AYCE hotpot in the area. The quality and quantity of selection is amazing that leaves little to be desired. There is a wide range of broth selections ranging from tomato to miso to sukiyaki and more. The inside is wide open and high ceilinged--enough to keep a faint hotpot smell that doesn't stick too much to your hair and clothes. Servers come around regularly to fill up your water and broth so you'll never feel thirsty or hungry for more.

Yelp
There's usually a wait of 20-30 min at peak dinner time on weekends but it's so worth it. Very clean, spacious, and attentive service. Our server noticed our broth getting low and refilled them ASAP and was always on top of refilling our water and clearing away dirty plates. The self serve area is always well stocked and fresh with lots of variety!

Yelp
This is the second time I've made the hour drive to Shabu Shabu House! This restaurant is definitely in my top three for hot pot. The space is large, so I was able to get seated right away. It's also very clean inside, with many staff members clearing tables promptly as each plate is emptied. The mala and miso broths are very flavorful! I wish I could mix the two in one pot. I like to order every meat except for lamb and tripe. All the meats are of great quality and incredibly tender--truly the freshest I've ever had at a hot pot restaurant. Their sauce bar also has many great options. There's a huge selection of fresh veggies, seafood, noodles, and more to choose from in their cold area. The veggies are particularly fresh, and there's always someone checking them for quality and making sure everything is well stocked. The mango dessert at the end is a perfect, refreshing treat to lighten up the meal. Our server had a big section and didn't come around often to check if we needed more broth, but it wasn't an issue because you can always ask a passing employee. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to eat here!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my bestie's birthday. I've been to a few of these AYCE shabu places (Spring being my favorite) and this one was a bit different! They have an AYCE option with the meat and also an option without the meat. We opted for the AYCE with meat. When I started to get my shabu veggies, etc. I noticed this place has a much larger variety of dumplings, fish cakes and they even had seafood (clams, calamari etc) and a fried food section included! (This is when I realized many could do with just the base price) They also had interesting broths. The only thing I will note- is that for whatever reason when making my sauces, it came out sweeter than usual and I tried 3 times. Not sure what was making it sweet. I called ahead and they let me bring a cake and the service was good. We even lingered for a bit past the time and they didn't kick us out. Btw- note this is a BYOB joint! They don't have a liquor license, but will let you bring it in. Also, to finish they gave us this mango sorbet. It was really good and had real mango on top. This place would've gotten 5 stars if it wasn't so dang warm in there! They should make it cooler during the summertime. We were all sweating.

Yelp
Just landed in new york after a red eye flight and decided to try this place. I love hot pot and i love all you can eat so what better way to start the vacation than a place like this. Staff was prompt and friendly and they had a wide selection of toppings to choose from for your hotpot. I loved the various meatballs they had to offer. wide variety of bases - ordered their hottest one on the menu and it was very good - perfect level of hot and doesn't have that MSG after taste. price for all you can eat is also fair for the quality of food you get.

Yelp
I came here because a friend's recommendation and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This is my second time in a K-pot restaurant. --Customer service was more than excellent !!! Cheers -- you can find a humongous variety of vegetables, dumplings with any meat, noodles , etc. Our food was delicious. The pork and beef meats were super fresh; the vegetables and dumplings were, also.High quality on noodles and ramen.... --- the place is so big so the average noise still be ok! Our server explained patiently the way this type of korean restaurants works. She was very attentive to us all the time. The place is very clean! recommended Thank you and God bless you!!!

Yelp
Love this place for the pad Thai, dumplings and lunch menu! Delicious and filling servings along with reasonable pricing-can't compare! A regular for us when in the area for work .

Yelp
This is my favorite shabu place. Clean veggies galore, nice meat selection and delicious umami soup. Don't forget the noodles and dumplings!

Yelp
We came here yesterday and absolutely loved it!! The selection is so great, from the broths to the sauces to the ingredients and side dishes. I got the Spicy Yuzu broth which was a light flavor but sooo yummy. Overall, the service was great and they keep it quite clean which is a good sign. The quality of the meats were really good and perfect thickness. We will for sure be coming back.

Yelp
Shabu House is absolutely my favorite Shabu place in the area. They offer unlimited meat and you can't complain about the quality. Location: Shabu House is located in Fort Lee or just a short drive away from Edgewater and Port Imperial. Food: As you likely guessed from the name, Shabu House specializes in all things Shabu Shabu. They offer a meat buffet option which includes unlimited meat and access to the buffet, which is well stocked with an assortment of vegetables, small side dishes (tteok-bokki), and sauces to go with your Shabu Shabu. Service: We have been well taken care of every time we've visited. Price: At $37.99 for the unlimited meat buffet, Shabu House's price just can't be beat. Takeaway: A sure place to get your meat or Shabu Shabu fix.

Yelp
Fantastic hot pot spot with amazing buffet options for seafood, veggies, sauces and additional cost for meats via ordering. Everything was super fresh and we came with vegetarians that also felt like they had plenty of options

Yelp
The place was packed on a winter Sunday when the temps dipped below 20 degrees. Perfect for something hot to eat. Now, my 3 stars are mostly due to the "a-ha" moment I had while eating at Shabu House: I don't like dining experiences where you pay a decent amount of money to cook yourself (same w Korean grilling spots). Call me old school, but I can do this at home. I prefer a proper chef / cook to assemble my food, present it nicely on a plate, and serve it on a table so I can relax and eat. This experience requires coordination, thinking, and timing on a customer's part. This is a learning experience if it's your first time, which it was for me. Top lessons for a first-timer: 1. You need sauces to make anything tasteful 2. You must know when to turn down the heat setting on your pot 3. Don't add all ingredients to your pot at the same time. Some items will be frozen and need more time, other items will be raw/room temp. I made the mistake of adding everything in at once and had to watch it like a hawk to make sure I took things out (again, whyyy am I cooking in a restaurant?! Wah!) What is somewhat worth the price tag is the wide variety of of vegetables a on display for you to select from. 6 types of mushrooms, endless different types of green veggies, etc. I think that's what you ultimately pay for - access to veggies and meats in one place you may not easily access normally. Ultimately, not for me. I think it's a dining trend. But if you've never done it before, worth a try.
google avatar

Winnie Y.

Yelp
Great for large groups. I've been here twice. BYOB - Beer and Wine only! Overall larger broth selection than other local hotpot places but their selection of meats are limited. Higher amounts of hotpot trimmings and I think they rotate ingredients. Their seafood isn't part of the meats - its laid out on a bed of ice at the buffet. The one thing that gave them a 5 star is when they're topping off your broth - they use the SAME broth as what you ordered. (ie. you got mala? they top if off with more mala. not dilute it with pork bone unless you want to that is).

Yelp
Dined here with friends during Memorial Day weekend on a Sunday at 6 PM. Came in with no reservation for a party of 7 and was seated immediately. The place is spacious and bright, lively with neon lights and green plants as decor everywhere. We sat in a booth for 7 even though there were only 6 individual shabu pots per table; we had 2 friends share one which was acceptable. The restaurant is BOYB but only for wine and beer. You have 90 minutes to have all you can eat except no food waste, so don't take more than you can handle because they will charge you for excess. The dinner buffet with meat ($35.99/person) also has to apply to the whole table, which is disappointing. We tried reasoning with the waitress for an exception because we had a strictly vegetarian friend, but they denied our request. Also if you have kids, the price is dependent on the height and not age... You choose the option for the broth first: 31 well-being veggie, umami dashi, rich pork bone, golden shiro miso, sukiyaki, mala, spicy yuzu, and creamy tomato. While the broth is being prepared everyone can get up to the food bar to look at a variety of options to cook from vegetables, noodles, tofu, mushrooms, dumplings, and seafood. Out of all the shabu places I have been to, this one had the most options. Also everything is labeled! Besides the food options to cook in the shabu, they also offer some cooked options such as fried dumplings and tteokbokki. I also saw rice cooker and a snack bar section offering onion ring chips, choco-pies, koala crackers, etc. The sauce bar is also nearby, with many options to concoct your sauce to your liking. They had Chinese soy sauce, Japanese soy sauce, sesame, hot oil, chili peppers, green onion, sugar, salt, house sauce, peanut butter, garlic, etc. Our waiter was attentive. He brought our meat selections out quickly and the meat was fairly sliced, not too thin as I have seen other restaurants prepared. He refilled our drinks and broth when he noticed we were running low. He was always around with other staff to collect empty plates. We were all full by the hourish mark and we topped off with their homemade mango sorbet that was included in the dinner buffet option. A tangy and light treat after an AYCE shabu overhaul. I would recommend coming back but just be aware of the policies!

Yelp
First time visiting after the remodeling and the space is very well-lit and spacious! Ideal for large parties, with the exception that tables will be separated - there are booths to seat 4 and 6. The AYCE dinner price (including meat) was $37.99, which was a great deal - first time trying chicken and it was delicious and so soft! The buffet has a wide variety of vegetables, starches, and fish cakes. However, I found that the hot food wasn't as big of a selection - just spicy rice cakes, glass noodle/vermicelli-filled dumplings, and a tomato sauce based pasta. Service was very prompt and friendly! And we loved the mango ice cream/shaved ice served as a complimentary at the end of our meal!

Yelp
Going to Shabu House has been nothing short of awesome, went twice with friends on a chill Tuesday and a packed Saturday. No matter the crowd, they've got it all covered with plenty of food to go around. The place has a laid-back feel with big, comfy booths that make each visit feel like you're hanging out at a friend's place, but with way better food - think all-you-can-eat (AYCE) goodness that keeps you coming back for more. What makes Shabu House stand out is getting to play chef with your meal. You dive into the fridge section to grab your veggies, noodles, and seafood, plus a great variety of meat and broths (pork bone broth was soooo good). The mango sorbet was perfectly sweet and refreshing, and I'm not a big mango fan. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Yelp
Great delicious AYCE food selection. Plenty of options to choose from. I like how you can pick out the veggies, noodles, and seafood yourself in the refrigerated section. They also have a several drinks available including bubble tea. The broth and the meats are ordered through your waiter. Theres plenty of seating and the decor is nice and welcoming. Great place to have dinner with your friends and family. Service is fast!
google avatar

Helen Z.

Yelp
I like how large and inviting this space is, and that they offer some seafood included in the AYCE self serve sections, including clams. The selection of veggies and meat were also fresh and varied. The sauce station is pretty standard. The mango sorbet is very refreshing. I do remember liking my pork bone broth as well. Our server was coughing a lot, which was kind of off putting, but overall we had a good meal here.

Yelp
Food 4.0/5.0 Service 3.0/5.0 Value 4.0/5.0 Decor 3.5/5.0 Overall 4.0/5.0 Very good shabu/hot pot spot in Fort Lee. A little slow with the soda refills and napkins but otherwise strong AYCE spread all around.

Yelp
Went to Shabu House for dinner on a Friday. It's a large spacious AYCE style hot pot restaurant, located in the former location of KPOT. It's very similar to other AYCE hot restaurants in the area. Each person has their own hot pot of broth, that you order from the waitress. You have the option of ordering meat a la carte, or taking the all you cant eat option. There is a buffet section that has many raw vegetables, noodles, fish cakes, and dumplings where you serve yourself, as well as a sauce station to create your own dipping sauces. The selection is similar to other hot pot restaurants in the area but the dessert section and prepared foods leave a little to be desired in comparison. Not bad, but not my favorite hot pot place around here.

Yelp
Wanted to eat somewhere close to Cafe Maiko (for that planned dessert!) and saw Shabu House. Perfect! Not so busy this January 2nd and the street parking was free for the holidays which was awesome! Inside was bright, organized and clean - a nice first impression. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. It did help that you get to pick your own food, except for the prime meats which you have to ask the servers for. There is plenty of soup options and we got the Dashi, Shiro Miso and Sukiyaki. I liked that the Shiro Miso wasnt too salty so you can still customize the flavors from what you add in. The veggies are fresh and there are lots of food options from mushroom, to dumplings, seafood and assorted noodles. It was quite enjoyable! They also have plenty of sauces to mix and experiment on. The decor is fresh and trendy too which was a plus. We even got a free mango sorbet for dessert! Worth the price I would say. We were all full and satisfied.

Yelp
I've been a very loyal Shabu go-er to shaburo in palisades park but this place might have just beat that out! Newly opened, shabu house seems like it's closed from the outside of the building but when you enter the building and enter the restaurant, it is far from it! Upon entering you are greeted by the hostess with a bright and lively atmosphere. The place is huge with plenty of seating and neon lights. All the way in the back is your veggie/seafood station which (if you choose) is AYCE. My friends and I opted for a la carte meat which was just enough for us bc we got full from the fish balls and seafood. There's a delicious salmon ball that was my absolute favorite! For dessert they deserve you a mango sherbet was delicious but I didn't like how you had it serve so you had to ask the waiter if you wanted another as opposed to shaburo which has green team soft serve ice cream and you can get up and get it yourself without waiting. All in all, DEFINITELY recommend this place to try. My friends and I loved it and we left full and happy.

Yelp
I thought it was okay. Something was lacking but I couldn't figure out what it I was. The unlimited seafood section is nice. They give you mango sorbet at the end. The place itself is very spacious and clean. It's also BYOB. Some of the desserts were lacking. The raw marinated crab was disappointing and tasted old. I've been to better ayce Shabu restaurants.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
I liked everything about this new shabu place! The best part of this meal was the ayce seafood that's included in the price (I went during the weekend for lunch and it was ~$25). The seafood was very fresh and large - the shrimp was super sweet, the octopus was extra large and my favorite, the clams were big and juicy! There was a large variety of fresh vegetables and also a dessert table (but there were more snacks than actual desserts). Fruits were also available and were dispersed with the vegetables. The mango sorbet has real mangoes but also an artificial taste - I still liked it regardless! There are lots of tables - loved how spacious it was; you could have lots of dishes and not feel cluttered - and the decor is also very chic and modern! Also, there's a parking lot so you don't have to struggle looking for parking! Loved my experience and I hope you'll love yours too!

Yelp
Mediocre new hotpot place: 3.5/5 Like the idea of AYCE but the meat was not the freshest. (Only tried all the beef) They also tasted very rough/ not tender Got the vegetable one that was recommended by the server but soup base lacked flavor Liked the large veggie and sauce section And lastly, the mango sorbet was delicious to top it off at the end!
google avatar

Juan B.

Yelp
A standard hot pot restaurant with an AYCE (all you can eat) option for meat. They have plenty of options with vegetables, noodles, rice, seafood (shrimp, mussels, clams, baby octopus, calamari), fish balls and thinly sliced meats. The meat cuts were delicious and cooked perfectly in the broth. They have 8 broths to choose from with 3 spicy options. I got the veggie broth which was very mild and subtle. I definitely needed sauce to elevate the flavors. Their booths seat 4 and 6 people with individual pots and heaters. And they give the most delicious mango sorbet for dessert. There is a 90 minute time limit but they're pretty flexible if there's not a long wait time. Not the best that I've been to but it does the job.
google avatar

Elaimey P.

Yelp
Excellent service all around. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was served immediately. I ordered a seafood broth; this place was all you can eat and you have an option of order the package with or without meat. The only problem I had was that I had to order the meat package (I do not eat meat) since my entire table wanted the meat package and they won't accommodate me paying less due to my restriction. Either way; they had a plethora of seafood options and vegetarian options that you were able to pick out yourself. It was great! Really enjoyed the food! Can't wait to go back :) really nice decor too

Yelp
I used to frequent the old K pot here in the same location but took a while to visit the new Shabu House incarnation. The kerfuffle about the overpriced menu initially turned me off but after they adjusted I made a point to visit. After 3 visits here's my takeaways: - This place is clean and the service is nice - They are pretty good about getting the meats to you fast and don't cheap out on the volume - The veggie options are not bad (Garden Shabu is way better) - The side dishes are ok, nothing to get excited about - I did like the fact you can get seafood on your own, it saves a lot of time - The sauce stations are ok (they need to get better Sacha sauce, they use too much oil and not the actual sauce itself, this isn't the right way to serve it) - The dessert section is pretty pitiful, but their mango sorbet is excellent. Too bad you only get one option - They do seem to keep tabs on the dining time so keep that in mind Overall I'm fine with the place. I still think Garden Shabu is better pound for pound but when I don't feel like driving a few towns over, Shabu House is a perfectly fine option. The meat isn't as good as GS but again if I'm not in the mood to schlep then this place will do.

Yelp
I was in the mood for hot pot and instead of going to the usual spot, my bf and I decided to try some place new for a change. At a quick glance through the options on Yelp, we found shabu house. We checked out the menu and made our decision to try it out because it was AYCE for $38 and BYOB. We arrived to the restaurant around 5pm and there was no wait. They offer 2 dinner options based on your preference, whether it be the buffet without meat or the buffet with meats. This place runs slightly different where you order your broth and meats. Then you go up to the part of the restaurant where they display all the ingredients to choose from. I went with the sukiyaki broth with dashi flavoring and it was delicious. Highly recommend trying the prime brisket, the ribeye and the pork belly. They have a small seafood section with squid, big clams, octopus. They also offer a small cooked food section with pasta and fried dumplings. Theres the sauce station with sides like seaweed salad. kimchi and little snacks. The complimentary dessert was shaved ice with mango sorbet. It was really refreshing after our meal. By 6pm, the place was packed. Restaurant is good for groups of 6 in each booth and they keep the restaurant very clean and organized. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Came here for NYE. The food was fresh with a lot of choice. I only liked pork belly among the meats. My son loved it too. He also loved carrots. The staff members were super nice. They all came over and interacted with my son.

Yelp
This was my first visit but my wife's 2nd. She told me there are few things different this time so I guess the option may change a little depending on availability. In all, choices were solid, and the meat (Ribeye) was good. Compared to the similar large place in little ferry, I felt this place was a bit lacking in comparison overall. It is BYOB place so that may be a plus for some people. For those with kids, they go by height, not age, so if you have a tall toddler, you will end up paying. My kid was right on the border and only 2 years old (barely eats anything). Almost ended up paying but they waived it. For this reason, we will probably go elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is nice! Super modern decor, the booths are a bit hard to deal with because it is buffet style and you always have to keep getting up to let people out. They had decent vegetable options, but I felt they could replaced them a bit faster. Some were empty for a while. They surprisingly had seafood options like clams and shrimp for the no meat AYCE option! Which I was surprised about because other places usually do meat and seafood AYCE in the same option. They had a nice mango dessert which I thought wasn't bad. There is a candy bar that the kids went to town on and literally was all gone by the time I got there. There isn't a lot of fruit options though. Only like sliced oranges from what I remember. Overall not bad if you want some seafood and veggies! Haven't tried their meat option.

Yelp
We came here hoping to find a new hot pot spot to enjoy, but unfortunately our experience left us feeling hurt, uncomfortable and humiliated. The waiters( I believe one of the girls name was " Min ") were rude and overstepped our boundaries, Even after multiple remarks It felt as though they were mocking us and pretending not to understand our English, which was disheartening since we were simply trying to enjoy a meal. They were laughing at us VERY loudly, so loud that people at others tables were looking around to see what was happening. Another thing worth mentioning is that we were a group of 5 adults and all ordered a lot. The food was really good but this kind of treatment ruined the whole festive mood we had and we left feeling unwelcome, which is disappointing because we were genuinely excited to try this place.

Yelp
Good food and the staff are super attentive, they even gave one of us a fan when they couldn't handle the heat! Highly recommend and will come back!

Yelp
Second time here, and it's definitely great value for what they offer. We arrived for an early dinner at 5:15 PM and got seated right away. This time, we opted for the seafood-only AYCE option after enjoying the meat selections on our previous visit. The seafood selection was so impressive that we didn't even miss the meat! Each of us got our own pot with a choice of broth, and all four of us went with the Mala (a spicy and numbing deliciousness). We made the most of our 90-minute time limit, leaving with full bellies and feeling satisfied. The mango sorbet at the end was a nice touch. Service was fast, and the price was reasonable. We'll definitely be back again!

Yelp
It's nice that they have seafood servings here like shrimp, mussels and clams. Their clams were big so if I go back it's for their clams haha. They offer slushy drinks. They also have different little candies on their serving bar. It is overpriced but would I go back? Maybe or maybe not.

Yelp
Mala broth is always my go-to at hotpot and this place had the spiciest one yet. It was a little greasier than others but well worth it! Just chase it with some tea or wine and you won't feel as bad about it lol Compared to shaburo, it's a lot bigger with a shorter wait. Both have parking lots available for parking and both have great staff attentive to your every need. This place has a heated food section -- spicy tteokboki, fried dumplings, and a simple garlic pasta available which were pretty good to start with. Only downside is it has a little less variety in fish balls and vegetables. But overall both places have great quality meat. For those of you who are lactose intolerant and/or like fruity desserts, this place has mango sorbet. Def check this place out and hit up the cafe next door!

Yelp
I've been coming here since they opened and everytime the meat quality is great, service is exceptional, and there is such a variety of foods to boil in the delicious soup. You can pick among 6-7 soup bases, make a sauce, and then dip and eat away. Cheers!

Yelp
After my second visit, I'm certain that I've found my new favorite Shabu place. During my last visit, our party of 4 came on a Saturday afternoon and were seated promptly. Weekend lunch prices are same as the weekday dinner prices and we opted for the buffet option with meat. The interior is spacious and clean with nice booths and friendly service. I got the dashi broth which had a clean flavor. Veggies were fresh and plentiful; they also had a copious selection of mushrooms, noodles, dumplings, etc. There's also seafood available in the buffet area (instead of having to order it separately) which was unique among the Shabu places I've been to. There's also a few hot food options as well like tteokbokki, pasta, fried dumplings, etc. Both the prime ribeye and brisket were tender and tasty, though the cuts you get may vary a bit in color and fat content, but this is pretty normal for most AYCE Shabu. The bowl of mango sorbet they give you at the end is a refreshing end to the meal. The only negative I can think of is that the dessert/snack options at the buffet is limited to some chips, cookies, and chocolates that are rather underwhelming. There's also only a few fruit options. This wasn't a big issue though, especially since I'm not much of a dessert guy. Also, the sauces were a bit disappointing in terms of flavor, especially the peanut and ponzo sauces which weren't really to my taste. Overall, highly recommended and will definitely return.

Yelp
Fort Lee, Nj // AYCE with an attentive staff no matter how busy it gets. 5 stars for food, service and ambience! Personal favorite is the spicy yuzu broth.
