This was a happy surprise! Normally we stay at the Manhattan Beach location but this year it was not available so we gave the Redondo Beach location a shot and it didn’t disappoint! This is my new favorite place for my husband and I to stay at. The beach was within walking distance and we biked along the beach. The food did not disappoint and Oscar and Greg from the restaurant gave the best customer service! Oscar learned that this was our first time at Shade/Redondo and he gave us a tour of the hotel. So kind!! The rooms were beautiful with a great view! Perfect getaway! The only reason I gave a 4 star on the room was because the bed sank on the side I was sleeping on but they made it right and we were able to switch rooms so maybe a 4 1/2 stars should be given.

Wow! What an incredible experience. My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary for a little relaxation away from the kids. From the second we arrived to the second we left, the staff was amazing!!!!! From the valet, to front desk ladies, and restaurant staff, incredibly kind and helpful. And the room was beautiful and clean with a tub on the deck!! Thank you Shade for employing such amazing people and bringing light into this crazy world. 🙏🏼❤️

I loved loved loved my 4-night-stay at the Shade Redondo Beach. There were so many details I appreciated. I was allowed to check in 4h before check-in. That was sooo kind. The 2-queen beds room was amazing. It was clean, very spacious and really smartly designed and appointed. A spacious bathroom. Lots of space in the room to put out your things. The HVAC system was quiet and worked great. I loved the fact that they plant a tree for every day you forgo housekeeping. Staff everywhere around the hotel was super kind. It was quiet but also not very busy. Bike rental was an awesome perk. The area is perfect for easy bike rides. The location was perfect. Lots in walking distance: Redondo Beach boardwalk, Hermosa Beach, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Cheesecake Factory and several other restaurants. $45 per night for parking (valet). $40 per day resort fee (you get a daily $10 voucher to use in the hotel restaurant). Hotel restaurant/bar was great. It felt like a true vacation and I hope to be back. Highly recommend this hotel. Also, easy access to/from LAX by Uber (30 min drive). The only downside was that after my departure, I had some questions about the final bill and no one responded to my email. But I let it go because the stay was great.

Google
The location was fantastic... Beautiful views and very serene. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only con was the customer service at the front desk. The first day of check in I came in with one of my employees. I noticed inconsistency in how the customer is treated. My employee interaction from the front desk person was great. She was very detailed oriented and explained everything and even offered her an alcoholic drink and explained the room. While the person that checked me in was really just doing a task. She only offered me the alcoholic drink after the front desk person next to her offered a drink to my employee. She did not explain anything and just felt like she just wanted to check me in and complete a task. The next day I was standing behind other customers checking in and the front desk was taking very long on taking care of the customers. They were waiting for a long time to get taken care of. I had some questions about the area but I walked away because I was just waiting and never acknowledged. It's a great location and the hotel is very nice but the customer service needs some work.

Google
I chose the Shade Hotel because it was a central location for mu family gathering. My Brother in Redondo Beach and my niece in Manhattan. I reserved a king room with a sleeper sofa so my nephew could stay with me and we had plenty of space. We loved the Shade. Breakfast was included and we ate there very morning (the Sea Level Restaurant) I only got to use the pool once because the family had things planned but it was lovely, warm and not crowded. Everyone on the hotel staff was most accommodating with any question We had cocktails at Sea Level's Happy Hour one night but the next we had problems with seating and left. The appetizers for Happy Hour were very good and the drinks a good pour! I would definitely go back to the Shade! It was well worth the price!

Google
I recently stayed at Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach for our anniversary, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel welcome and went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable stay. The room itself was spacious and impeccably clean, offering a beautiful, private balcony with a cozy tub—perfect for unwinding while enjoying the stunning view. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, and the hotel is located in a quiet area of Redondo Beach, which made for a very relaxing retreat. One of the highlights of the hotel is the sky deck, where you can take in even more amazing views. You can also take advantage of the bicycles available, which was a fun way to ride along the coast and explore the area. The restaurant on-site is fantastic! There is a wide variety of food options, all delicious, and the drinks are top-notch. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or something a little more upscale, you'll find something to suit your taste. Overall, Shade Hotel provided everything we were hoping for and more. The combination of great service, beautiful rooms, and top-tier amenities made for an unforgettable anniversary getaway. Highly recommend!

Google
I absolutely adore this hotel. It feels like a second home to me. I try to visit every couple months. I call it my Shade-cation. The King Harbor View rooms are absolutely wonderful. Not only the amazing view (and that incredible sunset) but how clean, comfortable and chic and they are. They are perfect for a little entertaining. The balcony bathtub is pure luxury and such a pleasure regardless of the weather. It can be a soothing hot lavender bath and a cold plunge as well. The room service is always quick and breakfast is great!

Google
We spent our wedding night at the Shade Hotel/Redondo Beach. The entire experience was perfect. The room was beautiful with an awesome tub on the balcony and harbor view. They provided a complimentary bottle of Champagne for our special night. We heard the Seals all night it was so beautiful. Our Dinner at Sea Level was amazing, we had the filet mignon and smoked Old fashioned's. The staff were all very friendly. We can't wait to come back for our 1st anniversary!

Yelp
Just tried the Shade Hour (happy hour 3-6pm) and it was the best around in my opinion. We sat at the bar. The drinks, food, live music, marina sunset views, and just all around chill but luxury vibe is a perfect combo. I am super picky about my old fashions and theirs with the luxardo cherry and smokey hint was just right!!! It is everyday so ill be back!! https://rb.shadehotel.com/mobile/dine/shadehour.shtml

Yelp
This place is like a redondo staple. Great views. Tub on the balconies. Great location. We had a great stay here.
google avatar

Yelp
Had brunch at the Shade out in the patio and it was perfect. The weather, the service from all the staff members, the brunch, and the mimosas. I 100% would go back and bring friends.

Yelp
I've stayed here a couple of times and the place is nice. It's pricey because of the location and parking is $45 a night. We had a situation with the hot water, but it was fixed within 20 mins. I was grateful that they took immediate action. We had another incident but with a critter. The management team was great and Jessica was great! I believe Alba was at the front desk and she was delightful. The team that worked during the holiday season was all nice.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
Pricey but worth it. Had my son's 21st bday celebration here and the Presidential Penthouse was awesome. Had a full bar and beautiful view of the marina. Rooftop views were amazing and their restaurant serves great complimentary breakfast. I did have a hiccup with communication on when we would be arriving, the staff misunderstood and the free bday treat and complimentary food was melted and spoiled when we arrived, but the staff was nice and accommodating and refunded it. Loved the vibe here, only wish we could've stayed longer.

Yelp
Vibrant hotel that's situated next to the Rendondo Beach Marina with access to local restaurants and activities. The Happy Hour is a must! Also, the free bike rental and on-site EV charging are a plus. Great place to stay if you're looking for a nice getaway from the daily grind.

Yelp
Such a gorgeous hotel with beautiful views and spacious rooms! Walking into the lobby, you can already tell this hotel is going to be nice. The person working the front desk was super sweet and they even offer a cocktail upon arrival. My room had a outdoor spa area that overlooks the marina. Seeing the sunset from our rooms was breathtaking. In addition, I loved all the amenities in the room. There were bathrobes provided and the shower area was stocked with fancy shampoo and conditioner. Everything worked great in my room. It looks like there's only valet parking here but even the attendant was super kind!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't show up during happy hour it will take 20mins + to get a drink. Staff were courteous but service was ridiculous.

Yelp
Boutique hotel in Redondo with another location in Manhattan Beach. Stayed here with my family and they gave us a handicap suite for some reason, although the only thing that made it different was that there was no step into the shower. There was some confusion around the resort fee but essentially we got charged $250 upon check in, of which $160 comprised of the $40 per person resort fee, $80 for overnight valet for one night for two cars, and taxes. Valet parking is mandatory and their closest street spots that aren't metered are about a 15-20 minute walk. When we checked out, one car had to pay in cash for the partial valet fee while the other car got the fee tacked onto the final charge. They do have beach equipment and bikes you can rent, but we mostly hung at the pool. The pool was a bit disappointing as it was really small and there was no hot tub. There were lounge chairs that you can walk up to as well as bigger couches with tables that you could reserve. The pool guy was nice and brought us water bottles as it was a hot day. In terms of the room we had a lot of space and the beds were comfortable. We were able to get extra pillows and dental kits from housekeeping. For each day that you didn't do cleaning, they donate a portion for environmental causes. There's a restaurant downstairs and you get a $10 credit for dinner through the hotel if you eat there. There's a mini fridge filled with drinks for purchase but we were able to fit some leftovers in there.

Lacey G.

Yelp
Great experience here! Amazing soaking tub, nice pool and best of all was the service, especially from the front desk, Katie I believe was her name. Thanks to all the staff for making it such an easy relaxing experience!
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
It's a nice hotel, but too pricey for the experience. The mandatory $45 overnight parking is ridiculous and leaves a bad taste.

Gretchen R.

Yelp
The Sea Level food was delicious for brunch. However it took awhile to deliver. They couldn't keep enough coffee brewed either. My 2 hour $8 valet would've been $100 if I were 1 minute over 2hrs!! Plus, the valets moved my seats

Yelp
Amazing boutique hotel with stellar food, services, and views to meet all your weekend warrior needs. Elevated luxary and sophistication was our experience from beginning to end. This boutique hotel exceeded all expectations from the moment you step into the lobby, the friendly and attentive staff met us with a gracious smile and chilled glass of CHAMPS at check-in! We had just come in from a long day and weren't exactly dressed for what felt like a very formal welcome, but certainly appreciated the all-inclusive treatment nonetheless! The hotel has limited parking but does offer valet service which can be slightly pricy if parked for several days. However, parking nearby is also available for those who don't mind a short walking distance to the hotel. We actually enjoyed the walk and discovered many great restaurants along the way. The Sea Level Restaurant was an unassuming delight with a menu that was fitting for all appetites. All the items and flavors were AMAZING, meticulously crafted to satisfy even the most discerning. Even all the food we ordered through room service was shockingly delicious! I would come back to eat at the Sea Level restaurant even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. The ambiance and views of the marina were just perfect! Our room was spectacular, tasteful decor and modern amenities that seamlessly blend style and functionality. Every corner so well designed creating an intimate retreat within the bustling city. Our deck had an outdoor tub which we had no idea we NEEDED until we actually enjoyed our brunch and champs in it! A touch of luxury that elevated the entire weekend experience. Thank goodness we had a portable steamer which was included in our room to steam out our clothes for the evening. So useful and glad it was available. What truly sets this boutique hotel apart is its commitment to personalized service. Collet, Emily, Jessica and the entire staff's genuine desire to make your stay extraordinary is evident in every interaction, turning moments into memories. It's a place where luxury meets warmth, creating an unforgettable tapestry of hospitality. Thank you for an incredible experience and we hope to stay with you again soon!‍‍

Yelp
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Complimentary sparkling wine and cookies upon arrival. We were upgraded to a harbor view which was fabulous. Enjoyed the outdoor tub. Staff was super helpful and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
You will see and feel the luxury of a boutique hotel. At the same time, they will charge you dearly for the experience. Be ready for the hidden fees, $20 per person amenities, AND another $45 for parking. The food and bar on property are great and I loved the bed (always important). Not sure what it is about the construction, but you can hear footsteps from the floor above, which is not super uncommon, but they seemed louder than I'm accustomed. If you have the money to burn, the location is beautiful, right on the Redondo marina, and the property is well maintained.
google avatar

Vivian V.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful, nice views of the marina. The biggest downside is that the walls are thin, heard people talking and partying all night. There is NO parking, you can only valet for $45. We had a family member with a disability and we had a handicapped placard, parked in handicap by ourselves but they still charge the $45 fee for their handicapped spots. Quite an arm and a leg if you're staying multiple days & no other option for someone who couldn't walk. Pool is also out of service until end of April so that was another downside not listed when booking.
google avatar

Yelp
We celebrated my sister's HUGE achievement! She won the "2023 PULITZAR " for photo journalism, nationwide!! We had the whole top floor room with harbor views. Staff was very professional. The food was also good. The D.J my sister hired was incredible!
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
This luxury boutique hotel is right on the waterfront and is the perfect place to stay to watch the sunset. Not to mention, it's within walking distance of numerous restaurants and about one mile south of the Hermosa Beach Pier. It's also a beautiful location to have a wedding. My niece and her husband tied the knot here and it was lovely! The setup was perfect on the rooftop where they shared their personal vows to one another against the loveliest sunset backdrop. After the ceremony, a variety of staff members came out to serve an array of hors d'oeuvres along with two different signature cocktails. They even went above and beyond for my brother in-law who asked if the hotel had any pain-relievers. One of the servers later came back to hand him one in a sealed package. Now that's service! I really love the whole concept of having the ceremony and cocktails on the rooftop followed by the reception on the second floor. I also loved the fact that they had lounge chairs and firepits on the rooftop and on the second floor at the reception which kept guests comfortable and warm. The staff of the hotel were prompt and helpful and made everyone's experience one to remember.

Yelp
I love it here, I just wish they advertised better the bar its always empty ,meaning advertising has not been taught to owners,it has great location and great view and I love the place we are so glad to have it here in south Redondo, just wish the bar would be busier, I had a great luncheon with 65 people above the bar few months ago then we went to top floor and food was great

Yelp
"ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP NO SHOW" There's was only ONE problem with my stay at the "SHADE" The person working the check in desks was absolutely horrible for no reason, she was rude, dismissive and her tone was extremely condescending. We were greeted with "I Need Your American Express" THEIR computers were down yet she called our room several times to say the credit card was declining, ( they didn't need a personal credit card, we were there on business all charges were ALREADY taken care of) Our trip was amazing. We had a wonderful time, the other staff was very helpful and professional. I'd would not hesitate to go back as long as there are others working at the front desk.

Hugh J.

Yelp
I was just at the Manhattan beach Shade and they had excellent service, minus one bathroom attendant who claimed they "did a little bit of everything" then when asked about chefing or sous chefing said that he didn't know how. He was African and had dark aggressive tonation and body language.
google avatar

Linh L.

Yelp
It has great potential. With a bigger pool and free breakfast or something better than just coffee in the morning, I would have given it 5 stars. The resort fee is basically for a pool just a tiny bit larger than a hot tub, access to a couple of adult beach cruisers, and morning coffee.
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
I have since had very good experiences at this hotel and highly recommend staying here. The staff was welcoming and very friendly.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Cool vibe. Great staff. Expensive food, but a good quantity and quality. The outdoor seating is in a beautiful setting.
google avatar

Edward L.

Yelp
The sea level restaurant was fantastic. The calamari was fantastic as well. I'm picky about my calamari having spent a lot of time in Italy. This calamari was very lightly coated with flour not breadcrumbs. Just like the Amalfi coast. It was great.

Joseph V.

Yelp
Room quality below standards. Owner has staff working to European type hotel. Bedding include mattress (worn out), comforter (stained), on wood platform. No top sheet to separate comforter from body contact. No sheet if you feel to warm and don't want to use comforter. Floors were carpeted, but dirty enough to blacken feet if walked on barefoot. Electrical issue (low voltage on all sockets on one wall. Needed 50' extension chord during entire stay. Management none sympathetic when presented with issues.

John P.

Yelp
The hotel was nice, don't get me wrong. Here are a few things that really turned me off and made me want to warn everyone. 1. We checked in the morning after our reservation started. (we paid for that night so we could check in early.) Without interference from the manager, there were about to make us wait until that day's check in time (3pm) to check in. 2. We were explained that the amenity inclusion charge of $34 was for spending money on the amenities of the hotel. When we used the amenities thinking it was a credit, of sorts, we were surprised to find that not only were we charged for the inclusion fee + the amenity we used but only $10 were deducted. This was explained to us incorrectly and no effort was made to rectify their error. Also isn't that a bit cash grabby? Here's a charge to use our amenities that you're paying for anyway. So if you want to have a stay at a nice hotel, go for it, it's a really nice hotel. Some of the staff are easy to deal with. Just be warned the final bill might upset you which really sour'd the experience for us.
google avatar

Esmeralda R.

Yelp
Honestly? Don't book this hotel. They charge $45 a night for parking that is VALET BY FORCE. So getting your car for anything was super annoying and inconvenient. There was also a $40 charge for amenities. The only amenities we used were the ones that are always free like the mini shampoos, mini lotions, etc. and there was NO indication that there was to be a charge for that. But also those items were NOT even WORTH $40 total. Everything else had a price pasted on it or had a booklet for with pricing. They also provide a "free" welcome drink and snack which. When asked if there was an alcohol-free option, there wasn't, not even a bottle of water. Instead we were told "Oh yeah I don't know why we don't". Also, getting the total and receipt was a hassle. They said they'd email it to us and nothing. called and somehow "We didn't have an email on file." The name is suiting, this place is a SHADY hotel. Go elsewhere.

Stu G.

Yelp
Pool/Hot tub closes at dusk. Not cool for a hotel of this caliber. Hotel employees not at all willing to keep it open a bit later.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
Love it here. Rooms are spacious and clean. Two T.Vs in the room, which was great, so me and husband didn't have to fight over the t.v. The outside tub on the Balcony is a very nice touch which our room faced the ocean. Bar area was nice. Expresso Martini was very good. Beds are king size and very comfortable. Quiet and relaxing hotel. The only thing the front desk staff was not as welcoming like at the Manhattan Beach location, Other than that I would highly recommend this amazing establishment to anyone.
google avatar

Ana R.

Yelp
Don't go here for New Year's Eve. For the $95 ticket fee, I received: *Ridiculously overpriced valet - $45 *confusing as heck entrance and guards with conflicting info about the entrance *no stairs to access the multi level event soooo what happens in case of emergency? Squeeze all the drunks into the two super slow elevators? *nowhere for GA folks to sit except outside...in the cold...and rain! *the rain....lead to an unintentional waterfall on the third floor and pricey vip tables were soaked Left at 11pm highly disappointed in this poorly handled event.

Yelp
We had my friends bachelorette up by the pool at the cabanas. The view was wonderful, Danny, our server was helpful and friendly, and all round, it was a lovely day, and a cute spot.

Yelp
Good food, good drinks. Nice atmosphere- will return. Thx Happy hour? When and what deals?

Yelp
On 7/17, around 5:30pm, the guy who checked us in at the Shade hotel was super unprofessional (bald heavier set man). He was not friendly and didn't have customer service. First off, he took a very long time to check us in and give us our keys, then when we went to our room (which was on the first floor close to the restaurant), it was very loud because they were hosting weddings and parties. We went back to ask for a different room, he said none was available. My husband asked for a manager, he stated he was a manager. He then asked for a discount because our toddler was unable to sleep because of the noise. Then he said he wasn't a manager?!?! Why lie? So my husband waited for another worker there, which was very nice and accommodating. He said he would be able to move us and even called us later to see if we had settled in comfortably. If it wasn't for the other guy working, our stay would have been miserable. Great location and spacious room, but found it a little weird that bed does not come with sheet. Just fitted sheet and comforter. The phone also didn't work, so we couldn't call the front desk. Every time i tried to call, it had a busy signal. So i walked to the front desk, no one was using the phone. Brought it up to front desk, but all they said was "I didn't hear it ringing" Free breakfast included cereals and milk, few selection of fruit and juices, and packaged muffins.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here Sept. 11/12 last min staycation to celebrate my birthday, it was well worth it. The soaking tub on the balcony was the highlight of our night, the restaurant Sea level downstairs was absolutely amazing, great food and drinks. Can't wait to unwind here again in the near future.

Jane M.

Yelp
We enjoyed this hotel. Love the bathtub on the balcony. Restaurant was good & liked the outdoor seating.
google avatar

Richelle A.

Yelp
This hotel was a pleasant surprise on a spontaneous trip to Redondo! Right on the beach, the rooms are clean and beautiful, they are dog friendly and right next to two really great restaurants and close to the pier which made it easy. Check in was quick and greeted with champagne, the balcony had views of the harbor and had a tub, everything was modern and the room service was from the restaurant right across the way so it was quick and delicious! Definitely recommend for a little getaway.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
False advertising in regards to the pool. We came here with a group of 6 and every one of us agreed trust this pool looks nothing like the pool/bar advertised on their website. In fact condistions are so poor that all the seats are weather/cracked showing the foam cushions. There's no hot tub, no bar tender. Limited food service, and no happy hour at the pool. It is so far off I would say they are flat out lying on their website. They charge a premium pool pass of $33- you can visit the bougeest of hotels for that rate that are all top notch quality. This was subpar and they should give us our $200+ investment back.
google avatar

Toshi I.

Yelp
Crashed a fundraiser with some friends. The cocktails were great. It's a fun vibe here. Could be kinda noisy if you're looking for a quiet dinner. Nice outdoor seating and view. Valet parking is your best bet.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing I grew up in the Southbay so I had never stayed here until I moved up north. But I came to visit my family and I got a deal on Hotel Tonight for a really good price that location is wonderful so close to everything two minutes from Hermosa Beach driving like a 10 minute walk. The pool was closed when I stayed there and they were amazing they upgraded my room because hotel tonight didn't let me know and they were so gracious about it so kind I was so appreciative. They also said that I was allowed to have access to the pool at their sister location in Manhattan Beach which was wonderful. Another thing, I am sober and I had no idea that the room would be stocked to the max with tons of alcohol but I called the front desk and ask them to remove it and literally within three minutes someone came to take all of it away they were super respectful and I don't remember the name of that person or the girl at the front desk but they probably remember me and they did an amazing job very courteous very kind even the parking guy was wonderful he knew we were in an out and I had a lot of family coming in and out and they were very welcoming the restaurant next-door looks amazing and each table has a fire pit I didn't get to dine there unfortunately but I can't wait to try it next time cheesecake factory is literally a two second walk right next-door super convenient and then the room. The room is amazing I stayed in the king suite the bathtub is huge and it's outside it comes with free lavender bath salts I took a bath outside on the patio and it was so relaxing I meditated I couldn't believe how peaceful it was it was on the docks but it was so quiet I can't wait to stay here again

Yelp
Ugh. Where to begin. We have 3-year old who has difficulty sleeping, so we communicated with the hotel several times before arrival to request a quiet room. We were assured that a 3rd floor room would be the most quiet and that 3rd floor was reserved but when we arrived we were only offered a 2nd floor room, and of course, there were noisy late-night guests above us our entire stay. On our second night, the HVAC for in room failed in the middle of the night making our room was very cold. Apparently the repair would take several days, but instead of offering to move us to another room they brought us a portable heater. The heater was a ceramic style with exposed electrical coils which is very unsafe to use in the same room as a toddler. We had requested that our room be cleaned while we were away on two separate days but the room was never cleaned. On our last day we had to pile our trash and dirty towels outside the front door so we weren't surrounded by trash and dirty towels in our room. There were other annoying minor issues, like the phone system in our room not working, and a loose shower lever that caused the water temperature constantly need adjusting. We don't think any of our expectations were unreasonable, and we were always polite when communicating with the staff, but overall, this was a bad experience, especially for the price. We stay in medium to high-priced hotels whenever we travel and this is probably the worst experience we've had in a very long time. We sent a follow-up email to the hotel after our stay but never received a response. Avoid this hotel.

Yelp
I'm reviewing on a recent visit for a holiday party. I was there as the entertainment however the staff was so wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Such friendly, helpful people. I would definitely recommend this venue for a party or wedding. It has a beautiful view of the marina too.

TJ B.

Yelp
This hotel has so many hidden fees, all of which have tax on top. $20 per person amenities, which is over $45 for a couple. $45 for parking which is difficult in this area. There really aren't any amenities that would justify the cost. The 'free' bicycle rentals are total junk. They won't get you further than you can walk. I reccomened staying elsewhere. 1.5/5 stars
google avatar

Madalina C.

Yelp
Did not have many expectations about this place, but dang it, did it deliver??! Our room was clean, spacious and the bottle of champagne in the room was a great surprise, too! We loved everything at this hotel, but I guess my favorite was the harbor view from the balcony. We will come back 100%! The people at the front desk were also super sweet and helpful and every time I asked for something, it was immediate resolved!

Yelp
During COVID-19 my husband and I needed to stay here due to a dishwasher flood. We called 2X to ask about sanitization and was assured extra measures were taken. When I looked in the hair dryer basket, I found an empty soap box from previous guest. So...nooks and crannies were not cleaned and daily used items were not sanatized. Management should be ashamed. What about the phone and the remote? Can I assume those weren't sanatized. Management: reservation jarrar

Yelp
Friend & I got a cabana at the pool for the 4th of July yesterday. We had the BEST time all thanks to Natalie and, forgive me I'm blanking on his name, but the bartender making cocktails all day. There were a ton of other people at the pool and she was handling everything like a boss. No one ever went wanting. I truly applaud them for keeping up with such volume. It was seriously only the two of them handling business. Service was 10/10 would definitely recommend. If Natalie is working you'll be in great hands! Thanks for such a great time. The hotel was over the marina so the view was amazing too. The pool was heated which I enjoyed because it was a little breezy out so it was perfect. Definitely hope she's working if. We ever go back.

Yelp
Update!! I can't lie I have been back to the SHADE hotel and I took advantage of the in room dining package. AMAZING!! The food was PERFECTION and the front desk is ALWAYS TOP NOTCH...This is my new favorite getaway....one tip if you can help it try not to book the lower floors they sit right along the pier walkway. It didn't bother me but some people may not like the chatter ;)

Yelp
Came here for a birthday brunch. Great service from the whole staff. We grabbed outdoor seating for the harbor view and asked for standing umbrellas. Huge lunch/brunch and bigger drink list! The popular Lobster Roll was kinda small but tasty, with choice of salad (dressing was sour), kettle chips or fries. Side portion is ample. Great presentation, too. My Burrito Divorciado was delish - 2 stuffed with braised beef, scrambled eggs, potatoes. Tomatillo and another sauce, sour cream and guacamole. Their waffle is huge and light and great. Fresh whipped cream, also amazing. Service by Irving was great. Manager Blake was very nice and attentive and treated us to apple crumble and mousse cups for the birthday celebrants. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the harbor. Inside interior is cool with small, cute beach-themed centerpieces. Great place for a date. Clean bathroom, free valet parking in January. Prices are fair to a little pricey. Wish I lived closer!

Yelp
I went for an izakaya special. The views from that upstairs restaurant area of the boats was great. The view from the first floor is boats up close but I prefer the rooftop. Wine is good, their special was really good. I would go back if they have it again. I think they change their special menu on the rooftop periodically. Parking is valet or meter in front. Lots of people out, but tables seem to be distanced enough from each other. Outside restaurant, friendly staff, server was on top of it.
