Great little place. Packed the night I was there. People playing pool and enjoying karaoke on a Thursday night. No negative vibes!

Perfect bar neighborhood style and relaxing atmosphere.. Friendly staff plenty of parking.. Darts pool tables pinball and of course great jukebox and sound system.. Thanks Shady Nook no complaints...

Good prices! Great place to catch a game. Pool tables, darts, jukebox and parking is good. I go for a quick Guinness after work.

I had a blast here when I went last year! The bartender Shayla treated my group and I with a warm welcome and had us laughing the whole time. She even introduced me to one of my favorite drinks, a shot of buttery nipple, when I asked her to make something sweet to surprise me. The place is a cool vibe, kinda feels like a western saloon, and Shayla was the cherry on top, super witty and welcoming. Next time I’m in town I’ll make sure to stop by again! Only wish there were more food options, but the snacks were a nice touch 👍🏾👍🏾

Jess is my favourite bartender. I trust her to make me a tasty cocktail whenever I can't decide on what I want (which is usually the case). She has the best customer service, very attentive and friendly. Small bar but I go for the pool whenever I'm in the area. They have two diamond tables. You can bring your own food. There's a good pizza/Italian spot next door and a Mexican restaurant nearby too. Also, the cleanest women's restroom in all the bars I've been to in the area and that's a huge plus in my book.

I had a good time here on a Saturday night! Seriously, have never seen such a diverse crowd in my life! Every age, race, orientation. The 2 pool tables were full the entire night, unfortunately. Better put your name on the board & be able to win the table if you want to play with friends. One other thing - Google told me they had free jukebox on Saturday nights after 8pm (staff load it up with money, a review said). This was not true. The jukebox was pretty well occupied already by 8pm, so it was $1 to play a song, hopefully, at some point, or $5 to move the song to the front of the line. That's an absurd price, so I wasn't able to pick any tunes. My friends & I enjoyed some conversation & tall mugs of beer, surrounded by good energy & other people's unremarkable music selections. =)

Day drinking in Brea,California... We originally wanted to visit Shady Nook for an hour of karaoke, but we ended up just chatting, having soft drinks, and munching on complimentary popcorn! We didn't want to disturb the other customers with our singing... haha! We could have played pinball or billiards, but we just wanted to hang out together and enjoy the calm, air-conditioned environment at opening time. We didn't have a reservation. We were the first customers of the day. Diane was our friendly server/bartender. She was cheerful and made us feel welcomed. I admired her for opening up the shop, taking our orders, paying attention to each patron, serving everyone, and cleaning up after us! She's amazing! I think we should return on karaoke night... then we can blend in... haha! We also would take another photo at the Photo Booth... and get our picture via email!

Came here with some friends, I never been here before what a cool place. It's close by this liquor store we used to stop in sometimes to get lotto tickets lol i never knew this place existed! It's pretty big inside, they have lots of seats and tables and pool tables to play and games even karaoke my favorite lol! Although we didn't end up singing, I hope that next time we do! We had a blast, we ordered soda's and we got some free popcorn. It was pretty busy for during the day, the employee's were super friendly and nice. The parking lot is pretty big. Located off Kraemer Bl in Brea. Parking is shared with the other businesses in the plaza. Stopped by here to hang out with some Yelp friends before meeting up with more Yelp friends. This bar is pretty nice has two pool tables , a pinball machine and they also do Karaoke but we didn't see when that happens probably a night thing. They have TVs all around as well. The bartender Diane was really nice and friendly. We just got non-alcoholic drinks and some popcorn. Overall a nice bar to hang out at.

Very clean upscale dive bar. The bartenders are very nice and they even make delicious cocktails.

Weakest drinks in town. If you do come here, stick to beer. Otherwise you're just wasting your money. I think I walked out of there more sober than when I walked in.

Great service, the fact there is complimentary popcorn and the high lifes are great for the price, you will enjoy how much you will not overspend. Good ambiance.

Update to my review owner is taking a lot better care of his regulars the bartenders are great no food but they have snacks and free popcorn and your allowed to bring food inside that's nice people are great very welcoming bar he has great whiskey and tequilas my favorite and the prices are best in town just beware of the screaming little girl during the Rams games you will need earplugs that's the only downfall of this bar

Small local spot! Sweetest dive bar. Friendly drinkers. And rhey have pool Tables. The service was excellent.

Not too many dives in Brea, so I definitely had to check this place out. It was a good spot for a couple of drinks and to play some tunes on the jukebox. Crowd was a little iffy. The bartender was nice. I may come back again if in the area.

Can't say enough about how much I love this place. The new owner revamped this place and let me just say, that whisky selection does NOT lack variety. If you're in the area...stopping by is a MUST!!

Dope spot, bartenders are hot, ppl are cool. I learned I'm crap at pool but the popcorn is free! If you forgot your ID stay at home, I guess this is the only bar in brea so everyone is carded

Only reason why this place is getting a 2 is because it was super hot inside.... I noticed the air was set to 78 degrees... With about 35 ppl inside. I asked bartender any way we could open door are turn air down. She said sorry but she couldn't. A customer chime in and said new owner has it set. Well unfortunately I I can't leave because I of pool league. So am outside where it's about 84 but still feels better. Switching out with my teammate so he doesn't melt. So want to add. The bartenders did try to work on air brought out a fan Didn't work went 85 owner came still no solution. Makes e feel better that he came out and it wasn't like the customer said that owner has set like that. So changing my stars.

Hidden clean dive bar in a super quiet area near the golf course. Friendly bartender and locals. Great prices on stiff drinks and awesome pool tables and dart boards in great condition. No food but the neighboring restaurants will deliver inside for you.

Friendly staff, cool patrons, and great drink prices. The accept cash and card. The also have a BBQ vendor that parks outside sometimes.

Cool little local bar. Pool tables, darts, plenty of tvs and well priced drinks. Beers are $3 which is unheard of and some craft beers and Guinness! They have some top shelf stuff like Wellers reserve for $12 a pour which is an amazing deal. Perfect stop for a quick drink

The Shady Nook is great place for Karaoke every Thursday Night. KJ Chris is friendly, polite and gives everyone a chance to sing. Two years now and still going strong. There are pool tables and plenty of parking available as well. The bartenders are friendly too. Definitely this is the spot for Thursday night fun in Brea

First time here with my bae! Shayla greeted me with a smile and was ready at the spout trigger. Got good drunk and had good time! I will be back just because of her vibe and conversation!

I usually don't leave reviews but I was wowed. I think her name was daniela..she was wearing a cute outfit, she had a cute plad skirt. It was my first time here and everything she recommended was so good. The rum punch was on point. Bomb! Totally recommend! Overall it was an amazing experience, made me feel so welcomed. I will be back!

Great spot to come for pre dinner or post dinner drinks. They have a wide selection from $3 beers to craft beers. Enjoyed some Blantons with my wife and went for our dinner. Highly recommended.

I just stumbled upon this place, and I can't tell you how impressed I am. The vibe is nice. The ambiance is cool. But most of all, our bartender Shayla fucking killed it. She couldn't have been more attentive and accommodating to our needs. I would come back just because of her.

Came here on Sunday after church. It smells like raw sewage in here. The bar was full so we sat at a table. The bartender wasn't friendly but that's okay. The main problem was the Modelos from the draft weren't cold. I've been here before and had better experiences but today was a bust.

Very nice local bar. Has locals and working regulars. Two pool tables, dart board and full bar. Prices are the best in Brea. $2 dollar beers everyday. In 35 years I've seen only one altercation. These are good people.

I've been there twice in the last two weeks. Both times I could see the patrons looking at me as if I didn't belong. I'm Latino and have dark skin but I don't don't speak Spanish. I think the people next to me were surprised that when I placed my order I didn't have an accent. I tried to be friendly and engage in conversation but got the cold shoulder. The beer was good and the bartenders where friendly and accommodating. Both times there, I was the only person of color. I'm a retired first responder of 30 years and an Army veteran but I don't think it would have mattered.

Met up with a friend here once for a drink. The place is small but was pretty busy for a week night lol. Drinks were pretty cheap and a bit strong. They have a pool table as well. The bartender was very sweet and was keeping up with the busy bar.

Definitely a neighborhood bar and since I am new to the area I tried it out. Not very welcoming to new people, I wanted to pull out my "Brea card," but the bartenders seemed a little judgy anyways which is nuts for a dive bar even in Brea. I am not sure how they get new customers. Anyways not a good vibe!

Shayla always creates a fun environment in the bar while making sure everyone is taken care of. Beer is definitely cold, no idea why people are saying it's warm. Easily the coolest bar in the area.

Nice bar. It's a shame the new owner doubled the prices of credits on the jukebox on the app and on the jukebox itself. Assuming it was them and not the vendor. Just happens to coincide with the change of ownership.

I love shady nook. The girls are so much fun. Jessica, Shayla, Hossana, Liz, Kayla, Jenna, and Ashley are the best. Beer is cold, drinks are strong, and people are crazy. $2 beers everyday! You can't beat it.

I vivited this bar, I happen to have not the choice but-to walk from my home. I actualy boughT somthiong at Walmart, and w/ my mind saying, "hurry, lets go drink a beewr (St. Patricks' Day,etc.?). I was placed underf great account, service, + a great spot at, (sitting)the restful "seat at the bar." I reluctantly passed a JC Penny card, I don't know the eticoute in addsressing bar servers, per "saying" in mind,....so thwe (Card) was in Thnxx, it is that I had drama-sized my thoughts, w/ the (Hostess) the one, asking if I wasn't seeming to seem sweaty, or seeming to seem so. (wwhoooah-Kay!) god bless their continuied business, alright.

Had great service this time. Had great Bloody Mary's this time! Very good, I was impressed. Also Miller High LIfe beers were $2.00!!!

To business owner Jeff- I wasn't asked to leave in a group. I don't know how you came up with that. I am just writing a review of your bar, but tip to others if the owner sees an undesirable yelp review he obviously makes something up to try and place blame on the customer- definitely "shady."

$13.50 for a pitcher of elysian space dust. Enough said? Anyways, this is definitely a locals bar. It seemed everyone knew each other here. Friendly peeps.

I'm so glad I found this place! It's got such a "local/community" feel to it. Very laid back and chill, jukebox always playing, 2 pool tables, fairly priced drinks made STRONG, and lots of regulars. I come here every week now :)

This used to be a great dive bar, but when the bartender Jessica is working most customer leave. She has a bad attitude very rude and cuts people off that she doesn't know or like for now good reason. But if its someone she know she keeps serving them even what they are stumbling over themselves. Owner doesn't even care. Bad for business lots of regulars walk in than walk out when Jessica is working. She is very bitchy!!

Love playing pool here. Two Diamond tables with good felt. Great bar and great people. As a woman, it's the only bar I feel comfortable going to alone and don't feel like there's a bunch of creeps around. The bartenders are amazing! Liz, Jessica, Hossana, they're all great. Highly recommend :)

Shayla is my favorite Shady nook bartender. She is very attentive, and has a very friendly demeanor. 10/10 would recommend. Michiladas are still good. Reviews about warm Modelos are simply wrong. The modelo is great.

Great place for pool and beer, home pub feel...my kind of place. I recently moved into the apartment complex next door to Shady Nook and as I enjoy pints on occasion (more often than not), I yelped this place and was standoffish at first due to some reviews. To my surprise, it's clean, welcoming and quaint. With two Diamond pool tables, juke box, golden tee arcade game, darts and a good handful of TVs, this establishment covers all aspects as to what a small pub should have. The staff is nice and makes good suggestions on beers (not much of a sprite guy, so can't comment there but sure they can stir you in the right direction if you need advice). Taps look clean and glasses as well which is nice as some places I've been too lack my trust in cleanliness which leads me only to buy bottles. No worries at Shady though! And they have pitchers! Regarding other reviews, I can see how some feel it's a locals only place but with some chat, beers and smiles, locals open up and are very nice people to chat up. Try not to keep you head in your phone and talk to people, you'll be surprised what kind of stories the scary guy in the leather jacket will tell you ;)

Very good atmosphere waitress is extremely nice and very friendly environment for company Gatherings. Great prices and nice people. Don't let the place for you it looks like a hole in the wall but it's a very nice establishment.

It's definitely your dive bar of dive bars! It's local, people are cool and fun. Thursday night was karaoke night. Some people actually have a lot of talent. Drinks are cheap. $9 special on pitchers. Can't beat that. It's loud, it's happening. You wouldn't expect this kind of place existed in Brea.
