Overall: 7/10 The place was nice and clean. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. I got the: • Double Spicy ShackMeister Burger (7/10): This special burger had a really nice flavor. It was a little too spicy for me, but the hot spicy mix was super tasty. • Maple Salted Pretzel Shake (6/10): This helped cool down the spiciness from the burger, but it mostly tasted like a regular vanilla shake with pretzel. There was not much salt flavor at all. The bathroom was an individual washroom and was clean. 8/10

When this place first opened, the lines were unbelievably long, but now you can usually get a seat without waiting. Orders are placed at self-service kiosks, and you’re given a buzzer to pick up your food at the counter once it’s ready. Although there seem to be many staff working in the kitchen, the food takes longer to come out than expected. The interior is brighter and more stylish than most fast-food restaurants, which is a nice touch. The burgers are still decent, but the excitement I felt when eating here has faded over time. The doneness of the burger patties is inconsistent — sometimes overcooked, other times undercooked — and overall, the quality feels like it has declined. This time, I ordered a Small Organic Iced Tea, Cheese Fries, and a Double Avocado Bacon Burger, which came to $27 plus tip, quite pricey for a fast-food meal. The burgers are also on the smaller side, so one may not be enough for bigger appetites. I didn’t order one this time, but the milkshakes are worth mentioning — they offer a wide variety, including limited-time flavors. They’re very sweet, but enjoyable when you’re in the mood for something sugary. If the quality were still at the level it was when they first opened, I would have given this place 4 or even 5 stars. For this visit, however, I’m giving it 3 stars.

I have eaten at this location a couple of times for lunch on workdays this year, and it's been a consistently good experience. The place is usually busy with lots of people, but the wait time is acceptable and the staff in the dining area do a great job - always friendly and quickly to tidy up tables. So far I've found the burgers to be really good, flavorful, and satisfying. The environment is clean, bright and vibrant, making it a comfortable spot to grab a casual meal. Having tried Shake Shack in the US before it came to Canada, I didn't really follow the hype when it first opened here. Instead, I think of it when I'm cravings a milkshake, and it definitely hits the spot.

The last time I went to a Shake Shack was in Dallas two years ago, and I instantly fell in love with their Shroom Burger. I finally got to visit the Shake Shack Toronto location and was so excited to relive that experience. I really appreciated how low-touch and efficient the ordering process was — quick, seamless, and brilliantly organized. I especially loved the pager system that pairs with your order and lets you track it on a screen as your name moves through the stages. It took about 10 minutes, but that just meant everything was freshly made to order. My first bite confirmed why I love this burger so much. The portobello mushroom was tender yet hearty, the melted cheese inside perfectly gooey and stringy, and the bun lightly toasted yet soft. The dining area was spotless, with staff constantly cleaning and ensuring tables were ready for the next guests. Overall, a very well-run operation that delivers on quality and consistency. I’m so happy Shake Shack is finally in Toronto - and yes, I’ll definitely be back for another Shroom Burger soon!

Had to try it out, it's in a great location. The hot dog looked lackluster but friends said it was good. The fries are nothing special, they're cooked from frozen tasting. The truffle sauce on my burger was really good but the burger was bland and only slightly bigger than a McD's cheeseburger. The hero's were the shakes. They were small at first sight but they were thick and very tasty. We had the chocolate-vanilla and cookie & cream, both were excellent. It's right there in the name and that's what you should go for.

i am actually super impressed by how high quality and fresh this burger was?? like i wasn’t really expecting a ton from a fast food chain, especially when it’s an attempt at “fancy” food like truffle , but the truffle shack stack was actually delicious. the incredible CRUNCH of the fried mushroom was insane, and it just oozed out with warm gooey savoury cheese and a strong juicy, wild mushroom taste. the smashed patty wasn’t too dry, and the bun was soft and sweet. i also got crispy onions on the side and added it in the burger, and it was quite heavenly — they were like onion rings that really elevated the burger. the s’mores concrete had super sweet, rich, creamy chocolate ice cream, mixed in with lots of very VERY crunchy chocolate chunks that left a slightly bitter, dark chocolate aftertaste. i actually didn’t get much of a marshmallowiness taste but that’s fine it was still a super yummy sweet treat. i also loved the cool green premium classy interior and the staff was really nice.

I've been in Toronto for so long, but this is the first time I've seriously tried Shake Shack. I was blown away by their black truffle series! It was so fragrant that I was literally shaking on my toes after eating it. Double Black Truffle Burger: This one is truly divine! Two juicy beef patties 🥩🥩, the black truffle sauce is so fragrant that it's crazy. The first bite made me go "wow", with a triple assault of creaminess, meatiness, and truffle aroma. Every bite felt like a fine dining dream ✨. Doubling up is the way to go to really enjoy it. Black Truffle Fries: I'm writing this and I already want another portion🤤. The fries are so crispy that you can hear the crunch. The black truffle sauce is super fragrant and doesn't taste artificial at all. The dipping sauce, with its tangy, salty, and creamy blend, is so addictive that once you start, you can't stop‼️ It's even more satisfying and has more layers than regular cheese fries. Shack Meister Stout: If you like dark beer👉 this is a must-order 🍺. It has a rich malt flavor without being bitter, and it pairs perfectly with the black truffle burger. Make sure to bring your ID when buying alcohol!! Otherwise, you might get in trouble at the scene. The queue is long but moves quickly, and you can get your order in about a few minutes👌. The dining area is larger than I expected, bright and clean. There are plenty of seats and you won't feel crowded. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the overall experience is much better than I expected. Shake Shack's black truffle season is really worth a visit‼️ The prices are friendly, the taste is high-end, and the aroma is heart-stopping... If you're a truffle lover or a burger enthusiast, don't miss this opportunity. After your meal, don't forget to get a cup of Heytea nearby to help with the greasiness. It's a great way to finish off your meal.

The most perfect burger I've ever had in the GTA! This location has halal chicken & beef. The range of options may be less, but the basic ShackBurger is amazing too, and burger toppings are customizable. Prices are much better than most burger spots around. Food was served promptly too. The dine-in area is quite spacious, neat and aesthetic. The perfect burger spot for me!

Located right at Yonge-Dundas Square, this Shake Shack offers a convenient spot to grab a bite. Once inside, you can order at one of the four self-serve kiosks or through the cashier. After placing your order, you'll receive a buzzer, and your order status is displayed on a TV screen. The process is efficient and well-organized. I tried the Original Burger, fries, and a hot dog. The food overall was solid, though with some minor drawbacks. The burger was flavorful but slightly on the salty and greasy side. Still, it's a decent option for a quick meal. The fries were good, though nothing particularly memorable. The hot dog, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. It had a gamey taste and didn't feel worth the price--this one is an easy pass. The space itself gets very crowded and chaotic, especially during peak hours. Despite having two levels, the interior feels cramped and a bit overwhelming.

3.5 stars. They have a pretty good ordering process. You can order at a tablet and take a buzzer. Once ready the buzzer will go off and you can pick up your order. The chicken nuggets are tasty but the breading fell apart. The shack sauce wasn't my favourite but you only get one sauce. Fries were good but not super hot. When I went in the states it was better

I caved and FINALLY went to Shake Shack. The only reason it took so long to visit is because it was packed since they opened in the summer. Not surprising because it's prime real estate on one corner of Sankofa Square (Yonge & Dundas Square). It's also the first and only location in Canada so there is a lot of interest and traffic. There's tons of seating indoors and the line moves quick. Love how there is a Shake Shack bouncer aka security guard at the entrance to ensure there is no chaos! Ordered two burgers: 1. Single shackburger 2. Avocado bacon chicken The shackburger was cheaper and I personally liked it more than the chicken burger. Maybe it's the "custom 100% Canadian Angus beef" or the fact that it's the signature item on the menu? The chicken burger also had very little avocado in it. The pictures on the website deceived me! It's honestly not worth $10+! One is enough for an adult but we ordered two and split it to try two different burgers. It's good but not something I would stand in line for. 3.5 stars.

My friends and I were downtown and had just finished celebrating a bday over at Yasu. As such, after omakase we were all feeling hungry still so we made our way over to Shake Shack. Super busy as we walked inside. Multiple ordering tablets and a separate line for conventional ordering. We used the tablets to make our orders, which took about 10 min before they were ready. After ordering, you get a buzzer with your order # on it. There are digital sign boards throughout the resto that list out orders as they're being processed which is cool. As far as the drinks go, everyone got something different. The 2 drinks that I would actually order again on my own are the fifty fifty lemonade or the shakes. The fries are just as mid as the ones I had in NYC. I think the crinkle cut fries they source are just a below average product imo. The cheese that they put on top of the fries tastes SUPER processed. The fries themselves are not crispy at all (and you can't request them to be cooked well done either). I honestly think frozen McCain fries taste better than the Shake Shack fries. The burgers were really good. Nice crispy edges. Juicy meat. Fresh veggies. Killer sauce. On my return, I'll only be looking burgers, shake/lemonade and a different frozen custard flavour. Everything else, forgettable. P.S. there's also always a giant line to use the washrooms here.

I finally went to see what the hype was all about and tbh there's so many better gourmet burger spots downtown. The burger was good, nice fluffy brioche bun and juicy flavourful patty but the fries were like frozen McCain fries with cheese whiz on top and the fries were cold. I do like the ordering system though, you order on an iPad and take a buzzer. I always prefer kiosk ordering so I can see the possible modifications and choose myself.

Went on a day where there was no line. Either I got there early or the hype has died down but was still busy inside. Ordering was straight forward using a tablet. Took a vibrator plate with a number and waited. Seating situation is like any other fast food joint, be a vulture and wait for people to leave their seating. While waiting a staff told me that the number system got disconnected and I needed to wait by the cash. Watched many people grab their order before me that all had placed their orders after me. Got my food and was impressed by the fries, ice cream and burger. Hot dog was a let down and could have gone without.

Love that Toronto now has a shake shack! The burgers resemble smash burgers with a flattened patty, pastry bun, and fresh ingredients with very flavourful sauces. The location is great with lots of seating and both self and employee cashes. I enjoy the buzzer system with the screens that show the status of your order. They have a special Toronto only milkshake that makes me think of some kind of pretzel maple cereal, the chocolate milkshake is also make with milk and not custard and it is so creamy and perfectly thick. The cheese bacon fries are pretty good but I find the cheese gets a bit too much after a while so keep that in mind (very viscous fake cheesy taste that is good in smallish amounts).

I prefer the Shack Stack burger over the Shack Burger because it features a crispy mushroom, adding richness to the texture. Meanwhile, the Shack Burger's simpler composition highlights the rich flavor of the beef patty. The fries are good - hot, fresh, and even better with a bit of black pepper. The drinks are okay, nothing special, but who wouldn't get a shake when they go to Shake Shack, right? We visited in early-August on a normal weekday at 2pm and were surprised it was still busy. Luckily, we didn't have to queue but we had a hard time finding a sear lol. Honestly, I think the price is comparable to McDonald's (~quarter pound costs around $8), making it a reasonable option, and it definitely tastes better than McDonald's. Will I revisit? I'm satisfied with one try. Would love to explore other burger stores, given the numerous options available in downtown.

Shake Shack is a Burger chain in the USA which has finally opened its first location in Toronto. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and boy am I glad I finally made the trip. I've been to multiple Shake Shack locations in the USA and the quality of the meat at this location is the best. The burger is juicy and flavourful without being greasy. It is cooked with a nice char and complimented well with the umami of the cheese and freshness of the available vegetable toppings to choose from. What really pushes the experience over the top is the excellent service. The ordering system is very quick and the staff are efficient at churning out the orders. So, despite visiting at the height of the dinner rush, I really didn't have to wait long before I got my food. The restaurant itself is very clean and there is ample seating, which the staff do a good job of turning over. I didn't have a problem finding a table to eat at. It can however get a bit loud due to the amount of people and proximity of the tables to one another. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised. Good food and good service makes this a 5 star in my books. Looking forward to going back for another cheeseburger.

The Shake Shack opened across from the Eaton Centre at the beginning of the summer. It's the first time I been nearby so I just stopped in for supper. I got a Chicken Shack (crispy white-meat chicken breast over tomato, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun), crinkle fries and a Coke Zero for about $20. I'm not a big fry lover and I'd probably pass on them next time. The chicken sandwich was tasty and I would get it again. The many staff were friendly and helpful.

It's surprising to see such a low score as I had a great time at Canada's first Shake Shack! Considering it's placement in the core of the city, this Shake Shack location had a great environment. The seating is ample and spacious, staff are friendly, and the ordering experience was highly efficient. I tried a Shack Burger which was very good, though missing "something" in comparison to what I'm used to in the US. Still a good experience overall, though!

So nice to finally see a Shake Shack in Toronto, replacing the old Adidas store right in the heart of Yonge/Dundas square! I didn't expect the interior to be so big with plenty of tables and chairs. The lines were very long (all the way out the door) when they first opened but it seems like the wait is pretty minimal now which is great! I love the art on the wall that is Canadian/Toronto-inspired. I have had the burgers and fries many times in New York and they taste just as good here in Canada. I was also impressed with how clean and maintained it was. It's very easy to order and find a table to sit first. You can look at the TV screen to see when your order is ready to be picked up or you will be given a tile that will buzz when your order is ready.

I have been WAITING for Shake Shack to come to Canada because it's my all time favourite fast food chain! I was so excited to try everything out and let me just say...it did not disappoint. I guess I'll j cut to the chase and start with the burger. I got the Double Shack burger and it was superb. Absolutely amazing. The patty was crispy yet juicy, just like they have it in America. I would argue that it's even better than the chains I've been to in the States because the meat seemed like it was sourced from a high quality supplier. The bun was so soft, so delicious. Everything about the burger was perfect. The fries of course were also impressive. Super crispy and a perfect pairing with the burger. I heard people didn't like the Maple Pretzel shake (unique to Canadian locations) but I actually quite liked it. It's was salty and sweet and pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Maybe it may not be everyone's favourite flavour profile but for me I also really enjoyed it. As you would suspect, the location on Dundas was packed but irrespective of how busy it was the staff was very attentive and helped me find a table and subsequently cleaned it right away. I thought the interior was nicely designed and there was a lot of seating. Ordering was also a seamless experience. Overall, I'm really excited to have the chain here in Canada and I look forward to more locations opening up!

Decent fast food spot! I've tried Shake Shack in the US but it's been a while and curious about the first location in Toronto. It's been busy for a few months but I feel like enough time has passed that it's more manageable now. Went on a Wednesday at lunch and there was no line up to enter. It took me a total of 10-15 mins to line up to order and get my food. Once you order, you get a buzzer to let you know when it's ready and your order is also on a screen to show order progress. le. Your Name - In Progress, Packed, Ready. I found staff friendly with service fairly speedy and efficient. I wasn't too hungry so l had the following: 1) Black and White Milkshake - Chocolate fudge sauce hand spun with our house-made vanilla frozen custard. 2) Cheese Fries - crispy cut fries with their cheddar cheese sauce. I think you don't even need the cheese sauce, good on its own! Would recommend trying as long as there is no line.

A lot of space to dine in and efficient service with self-ordering kiosks. The food was served so quickly. I was surprised by how organized they were. Ordered the double smoked pepper burger ($14) and the bacon cheese fries ($8). Everything was amazing here. Can't wait to come back!

I haven't had a Shake Shack burger since my first visit to NYC and that was almost 20 yrs ago if not more! So needless to say I was excited to try a burger at the highly anticipated Toronto location!! No line up, so fairly easy to enter. Stood in queue a few minutes and was handed a menu to study and then encouraged to use the order screen. I didn't see any combos so I just ordered a burger, fries and pop separately. Small pop seemed pricey at $2.99 and fries were just over $4. I went with the avocado bacon cheese burger (they had me at fresh avocado). And I can say that the meal did not disappoint! The burger was perfectly done. The avocado did taste fresh and you can tell it was slices. Bacon was perfect, burger patty tasted great as well. Bun held up. Crinkle cut fries were had a nice crisp. I could have done with 1/2 order fries as you get a generous helping. The restaurant is spacious with extra seating upstairs. Feels a bit chaotic but you get over it. Busy & buzzy atmosphere as people excitedly eat their food! Staff clear tables fast & someone comes round and asks if you want a refill & offers to clear up once you're done. Will definitely go back to try other Toronto specific items that are featured on the menu! Update.... Tried the chicken sandwich.... So good! Love the herb mayo, shredded lettuce and pickles. I added avocado to it. Chicken was tasty. Top marks!

Finally made it to shake shack on the weekend after its grand opening. The line moved pretty fast, the longer part was waiting for our food to be done. The time we went they had a lot of menu items out of stock, which is frustrating. Tried the shack burgers and cheesy fries, nothing unusual. I'm pretty sure I had better burgers elsewhere. The tea itself looks modern and cozy, the place does feel a little squish if there were strollers near your sitting area.

This is the first shake shack in Canada. I've been to a couple locations from the states like Seattle and NYC. As expected there was a long line to enter, we waited for about 20 minutes. We had to order via a tablet and got a buzzer. The restaurant was fully packed and seats were mostly full. I didn't have to wait too long to get a seat though. I do notice the floor is quite slippery and so easy to get messes. The trays were also greasy. There are screens to see your name and status of your order. The food came within a reasonable time. We ordered these: Lemonade: This tasted sour as if it was freshly squeezed Shroom burger: This is just as good as the ones in the state Shack stack: It's very filling and pretty much the same thing as the shroom burger but add a cheeseburger patty Bacon cheese fries: I don't recommend, it just tastes like those frozen McCain fries Toronto exclusive: maple salted pretzel shake: This was very sweet and pretty heavy, I couldn't finish this I heart butter tart concrete: This was more salty than sweet. It's like a creamy salty but lil sweet ice cream. With some butter tart pieces inside. It melted pretty fast when I ordered so I ate it first. Overall I would recommend the shroom burger and lemonade. I would come back again to try other menu items.

Location/Service This spot is located right in the heart of Dundas Square - outside of Eaton Centre, but by the traffic intersection. You can't really miss it cause they have a huge sign with a little bit of security to help line control. Inside is pretty spacious with a lot of seating available (first and second floor). I like how there's also a specific order counter to help control the flow and buzzers so you don't have to wait by the counter to pick up. Staff were friendly and nice and orders were done at a quick pace - I also like how there's a screen available to see your status of the order by name. Food Because I was in a bit of a rush, I ordered the classic burger with fries - just to compare how it taste to the USA. Pricing wise is around $12-$15 for the meal (note that they don't do combos). The burger portion size is similar to the states - which is usually on the smaller size. Flavour and taste wise is similar (tender buns and juicy meat), but I felt something a bit off. It wasn't as satisfying when I have it in the states that I can't really pinpoint. The fries were good - not exactly sure if they use Canadian potatoes for them, but I like it. Overall, I just find the place okay - definitely I won't go when there's a huge line cause it's not totally worth waiting in line - but it's nice to see what I crave from the states to be here in Toronto. Will definitely try again (along with the Canadian products) to have a proper tasting.

Tried Shake Shack in NYC and wasn't really impressed. Then the first Shake Shack in Canada opened its location in Toronto and wanted to try again to give them another chance thinking it will taste better. But I should have just trusted my gut instinct coz it's the same mediocre food or even worse than the one in the US. Went on a Friday at 2 pm and the lineup is relatively small. It took me a total of 20 mins - from lining outside, ordering inside with cashier and finally getting my order. And they're CASHLESS, only accepts credit/debit cards. Ordered their Shackburger Single patty, Crinkle Cut Fries and one of their Concretes, I Heart Butter Tart which is exclusive to Canada so of course I need to try this. I tried their milkshake in New York and wasn't a fan because of its artificial taste so I know not to order this again. For $8.49 the Shackburger was teeny tiny, I swear I ate it in 2 bites. The size of this burger is more in scale to a McDonald's regular hamburger than what you will consider a full sized burger. For this price you would expect a good quality burger but it was overwhelmingly mediocre and on the salty side. The crinkle cut fries is probably the worst fries I've ever eaten. Yes they're super crispy but tasted like rancid cooking grease from the oil. It's a hard pass for me! The I Heart Butter Tart frozen custard concrete is another disappointment. It was sickeningly sweet and the big pieces of butter tarts were so hard that it was not enjoyable to eat. I would have preferred that they have crumbled the butter tarts to add a chewy and crunch texture to the custard. Overall expensive, overrated, glorified fast food and just a one time thing. Considering there are way better local Canadian owned smash burger places in Toronto here's hoping Shake Shack doesn't become another Carl's Jr which is also an American fast food chain.

The line looks long but it moves fast thanks to self service kiosks. My order came pretty quick and the place has 2 levels of seatings I really enjoyed the shak burger - fresh, juicy and delicious! I enjoyed the crunch from the deep fried portabello. The fries were alright but the cookies and cream shake was decadent! I would eat here again

I came to Shake Shack with my brother and sister. The lineup wasn't that huge. I ordered the double hamburger while my sister ordered the chicken sandwich. My brother ordered the classic burger. We were given pagers to let you us know when the food was ready. We found the table and got the food. The hamburgers were pretty good and tasty. Would we come back. Maybe when it is not too busy. But there is 5 guys around the corner.

Finally tried it out today. Had the ShackBurger and the Maple Pretzel Milkshake. The ShackBurger was Ok. But it was a very small burger, didn't look/feel substantial, and didn't have much flavor. Maybe a double would help if you are hungry The Maple Pretzel Milkshake was very good. But on the small side. The bill was $17-something. While the food was OK, I left feeling hungry. I did like the ordering system, and while it was busy, they had a ton of staff in the back and it took longer than expected for me to get my meal

Don't let the line outside scare you, it moves pretty quickly! Efficient line up with the option to order with the cashier or on a tablet. The crispy smash patties tasted great with the house sauce on a buttered bun. The crinkle cut fries are top tier, this is possibly my favourite fry of all time. Will be frequenting Shake Shack now that it's finally in Toronto :)

I recently checked out the new Shake Shack at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto, and wow, it was fantastic and well worth the wait in the long lineup. It's the first franchise location in Canada. I ordered the bacon avocado burger with crinkle fries, and let me tell you, it hit the spot. The burger was super juicy and packed with flavour, with the avocado adding a nice creamy touch and the bacon giving it that perfect crunch. The crinkle fries were just right--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! The place itself is really inviting, with a spacious, open and airy feel. I loved the self-checkouts, which made it super easy to get in and out quickly. If you're wandering around the Eaton Centre and need a quick lunch, Shake Shack is definitely worth a stop. Highly recommend!

Shake Shack has finally arrived in Canada, and surprisingly, it was only a 30-minute wait on opening day. Though it appears word-of-mouth has quickly spread and at its peak, the line extends into Dundas Square. For the uninitiated, Shake Shack serves smash burgers, comparable to Rudy. It's been years since I've had Shake Shack in the US (so it's hard to compare the portion size) but the burger did seem a bit small. Taste-wise, it did seem pretty consistent with the soft bun and signature Shack Sauce. There are some Toronto-exclusive shakes and custards as well. We tried the I Heart Butter Tart concrete, which was a bit too sweet. And it would've been nice if the tart was blended more though. As mentioned, it was a fairly "short" wait, which I think is expedited by the number of self-checkout terminals available. There is a cashier as well, should you have any questions or should you want to pay with cash. There was also a lot of staff on the floor, clearing trays and checking in with diners to see how they liked the food. Not sure if this was just for the opening, but it was a bit much getting asked upwards to five times. Would I wait more than 30 minutes? No. But I would definitely come back if/when the hype and lineups die down.

Woohoo! Shake Shack has finally arrived in Toronto. This is located conveniently at Yonge and Dundas. A big location with plenty of seating. We lined up at the lunch hour and it took about 20 minutes till we got inside. There was entertainment including a rapper outside the storefront making rhymes about Shake Shack, and an artist drawing a Shake Shack mural on the sidewalk. Perfect spot for tourists. Once we got inside, we placed our order on the self checkout screen and picked up our buzzer. It was not a long wait after we had ordered. We tried the shake burger, smoke shack burger, avocado bacon burger and chicken burger. The burger had that charred taste as if it came straight from the bbq, and the sauce was so delicious! We also tried the crinkle cut fries with cheese sauce. The fries were crispy and the sauce replicated a Mac and Cheese sauce. I personally would opt for just the original fries next time as I found the cheese sauce a bit too salty for me. As for the drinks, we tried the Toronto exclusive item, which was the maple salted pretzel shake. Now I had one sip of this and it is way too sweet. This tasted like maple flavoured whipped cream in liquid form. Too sugary. The fifty fifty drink however was refreshing. This was half lemonade, half unsweetened iced tea. We also had unsweetened ice tea which was equally as refreshing on a hot summer day. I noticed on the menu they serve wine and beer as well if you're looking for alcoholic options. I would say this experience lived up to expectations, having tried Shake Shack in the US. If you are not a fan of big lineups though, I would wait a bit for the hype to die down before heading here.

Stopped by to see what the hype is about. I can get the fuss over the fries as they were tastily seasoned and had a good size and cut. The Shackburger though was ordinary and there was nothing special with the shack sauce. And the Chicken Shack was really really dry. Won't be shacking up with this place anytime.

We had to stop by and try Shake Shack! It was very busy inside but the line up for food was not long at all! They really know how to deliver great customer service. We ordered a huge tray of food and waited less than 15 mins for food.. I think it's tougher to find an available spot to eat.. but if you hand around someone will leave and you can take their table.. the food was good.. the burger had a nice crispy edge crust and the meat was perfectly seasoned. My son said the fries were the best he ever had.. oh and the vanilla shake was BOMB!

Good fast food spot, fast, clean and kind employees. The food is tasty and good quality and the strawberry shake is out of this world. It a bit pricey but if you can afford it it's a good option. At the beginning I thought hamburgers look a bit small but somehow ended up full, so no complaints there. I liked that the buns are closed on the back so that no food slips out.

Shake Shack has made its way to Toronto! Although it has been here for a few weeks now, I finally got to try this American-chain. I went on a rainy weekday so there was almost no line to get in and I ordered very quickly. They have the option of ordering on kiosks or at their cash registers. The line moved pretty smoothly and they offer hand out menus while you wait. You wait for your food and can keep track of your place in line with their name board. The call it out and have a dedicated section for it. Seating was pretty minimal in my opinion for it being the only restaurant in the GTA and having a prime location such as Yonge and Dundas. I liked the local art and the art deco style of their interior. Onto the food! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with their wavy fries and a small coke, along with a vanilla frozen custard. For almost $27? This was pretty hefty, and I think more expensive than other smash burger spots in the city. To be completely honest, I am not too sure the difference between this spot and other smash burgers. I mean... It wasn't bad? Haha. I think for the amount of money I spent I would just go to a local spot for less. The burger was pretty good, I think for it being a fast-food chain that's as good as it's going to get. Other smash burgers would have crispy edges, but I think this was just alright. The fries I feel like were undercooked in some parts and okay in others. Again, nothing special. The frozen custard might just be daytime robbery. If I were to close my eyes and guess what I just ate, I would say a regular ice cream cone from the ice cream truck. They didn't really have combos so you have to order everything separate. If you go with others I suggest just sharing sides. I know they have some specialty stuff like their drinks and flavours for Toronto, that might be worth checking out. But for their standard food, it was nice to try but I think that's all that it is. I do think it's a great addition to the Yonge and Dundas core as I can see it getting continually busy. This is, however, another tourist spot I'll have to avoid.

Taste just like the ones in america! Buns are so soft and the burger is just one of the best smash burgers. Always hits the spot. Lots of seating with second floor as well. No more wait lines now (:

Really quick line. Food was made according to customization with no issues. Fries perfectly crispy with the best cheese sauce. Great veggie options. Butter tart Concrete way too salty and crust on the tart wasn't classic, but the maple pretzel shake was decently good. Wouldn't get dessert here again, but the savoury food is definitely worth it. Very nice staff.

It will be a huge restaurant, occupying 5,500 sq ft! They are open today, 2024-06-07, for invitees only (no, I wasn't invited). This location is licensed to serve alcohol! I have never seen a Shake Shack that is licensed! The menu consists of classic menu items from its US counterpart, with items such as ShackBurgers, crinkle-cut fries, and hands-spun milkshakes. However, there are a few Canadian-specific menu items such as: 1. Maple Salted Pretzel Shake. It has their signature vanilla frozen custard with Canadian maple syrup and pretzels. 2. More S'mores Concrete dessert. It has chocolate and vanilla frozen custard, blended with toasted marshmallow sauce, fudge sauce, Graham crumbs, and chocolate pieces. 5% of sales will be donated to Campfire Circle, a charity that helps kids with cancer or serious illness as well as their families. 3. I Heart Butter Tart Concrete dessert. It has vanilla frozen custard blended with Brodflour butter tarts and flaky salt. 4. Shark Attack Concrete dessert. You would line up to order on a self-order kiosk and then wait for your order to be picked up at their pickup counter. You would grab their own items like napkins, ketchup, plastic forks, etc. We can't wait to try the first location in Canada! Lineups tend to be long at all Shake Shack locations that we've been to. At this location, the outside was painted by local Toronto artist Briony Douglas. Shake Shack Canada plans to open 35 locations by 2035. Shake Shack USA started 20 years ago. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are gender-neutral washrooms, which are also wheelchair accessible. The ambiance is so nice! I was surprised for a Shake Shack. I got the chicken sandwich and cookies and cream shake. The shake was to die for! The chicken sandwich was perfectly fine. My partner loved the burgers. We will be back. It recently opened so the line was very long, but went by pretty quick.

Located right in the heart of downtown Toronto at Yonge and Dundas, you expect high traffic and crowds in that area. I went on a weekday evening, to my surprise, the hype died down and was able to order immediate at their kiosk. The seating situation is very big and spacious with many tables. There was security and staff and the entrance and many staff on the floor cleaning up tables making sure everybody have a clean table to eat at. There was screens inside the restaurant where you can see whether your order is ready for pick up. Our order was ready within a reasonable time frame for a fresh burger. I ordered the smoked bacon burger and it was very delicious, I raelly enjoyed the smokiness and it was definitely enough for me. I also ordered the Fanta float as a dessert. However, I feel the one I had in the States had more ice cream inside. This is on the pricier end as they do not offer combo. So it's definitely not your everyday burger place!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR FELLOW MUSLIMS : When there is an opening of a shake shack in one of the most densely Muslim populated cities, claiming they are serving halal meat but cross contamination with bacon is occurring behind the scenes, and the employee is telling the customer, that bacon is in the same griddle as the burgers , that appears to be a complete disregard and blind eye turned by management. It's obvious that bacon is forbidden to be eaten by Muslims. You don't have to contact the Halal Ministry of Canada to figure that one out! And pretty sure shake shack can afford a separate flat top grill to acoomodate a greater percentage of the population in the area , no? What's the setback, $2-3K? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to handle halal meat. Just keep it far away from pork and don't touch the meats. Kosher meat gets more technical, even I know that. BLAME MANAGEMENT, not the employees. Maybe it's best NOT to advertise you are serving halal meat or at least inform the public that we are frying the meat on the same grill as the bacon because we can give 2 sh!t$ what Muslim specifications are. It's been a few months since I've had Shake Shack but seems just as good as I remember. I've been to Shake Shack across a number of cities in the US, Tokyo and Hong Kong and this Toronto location seems up to par. The cost converted with the current exchange rate actually means good value for this spot relative to US. Came a few weeks after open and the restaurant was really well organized and was in and out within 25 minutes which might feel long for fast food but is decent for the opening burst. Restaurant is really clean and well organized. The burgers, milkshake and fries are just as good as I'd expect for shake shack.

Didn't know what to expect on the wait as we heard there usually is a long line up. We decided to pass by anyways. Nice workers to greet you with a laminated menu. Thought the line was long but the realized around 6 people were using the self serve tablet. There was one guy taking order from the counter. The line was pretty fast, after the 2 people in front went to the counter to order, my colleague and I chose the self serve option. I love the system, after ordering you pick up a buzzer and enter the number so when my order is ready I can feel the buzz and not have to stand in the front. There were 12 orders in front of me when I saw the digital order status board, but my order went up the chain pretty fast, faster than I expected. I think it was less than 10 min. The seating area is huge, it's pretty easy to find free seats even though there were a lot of people. We ended up sitting on the 2nd floor, a small area but quiet. When I was done my burger and just enjoying the strawberry shake, an employee came to ask if we need water or napkins or anything else, I asked for water as the shake was kind of thick. Didn't know they do that, I'm well surprised. The only drawback is that the burger is pretty small for $10. Think the buns are actually smaller than McD's which is pretty sad. At least the meat itself is fresh, but lacking in marination, I had to add salt and the Louisiana hot sauce otherwise my burger was blend. Not sure if I would go back again for burger but at least the staffs were nice.

I visited Shake Shack to try it out since it is newish to Toronto. I went during a weekend and I was lucky enough to walk right in. There wasn't any line up when I went but on my way out there was a crowd build up. The ambience of the location was good. Pretty modern and aesthetically pleasing. There was a line up to order from the digital kiosks but it moved quickly. The food was good but maybe not for the price.

I had to discover for myself what all the hype was all about. After all, it's just shakes and burgers right? Wrong, it's excellent burgers and shakes served with enthusiasm and efficiency. While it's a bit pricier than many of its competitors I don't mind paying a bit more for great food. Definitely coming back for more in the near future.

Went with my friend to see what the hype was about. The three items here cost over $30 and my friend bought three burgers and two drinks which was over $40, which is absolutely ridiculous. Fries were meh, burger was alright. The only thing that would keep me going back is the milkshakes. Overall, it's way too expensive for the quality.

It was GOOOD!! The line up is not worth it tho. The portebellow mushroom burger was Delish!! The freshness was excellent. The staff working here was EXCELLENT!! I would have to commend every service staff for their patience and willingness to answer any questions. The place was booming busy with maybe that one or more disgruntled customer but the staff here managed to serve well. Be prepared for long waiting times both for ordering and also waiting for food to come. The food is freshly made. The flavor is on point. I would not wait in like for it tho but its Toronto tradition to wait in lines is a must its the new GEN Z. If you really need to try this place go right when they open the time from open till 30 mins no line then after its long lines.

I was worried by many of the reviews but I have to say I was very impressed. Yes, the food was on the expensive side and no, it wasn't the best burger I have ever had. But I can't think of a place nearby that I would recommend with better burgers at a better price. Mick E. Fynns up the street does probably have a slightly better burger but the price is pretty compatible. It is also sit-down rather than fast food. We got a regular double burger and a SmokeShack. Both were good, perfectly cooked juicy and flavourful. Both of us did prefer the SmokeShack, the peppers really added a nice touch without being overwhelming. One note is that the burgers are just a touch pink in the middle. If you are extra cautious about food safety be sure to customize the burger and check the "Well" option (which I think requests well-done). But honestly both of us like our burger done like this. We also had the house beer brewed by the excellent Bellwoods Brewery. They call it an "ale" but was surprisingly hoppy. It was really quite enjoyable. We also had a Black & White Shake and Shack Attack Concrete which both really hit the spot. Overall while not cheap fast food I think you are getting something nicer for the extra money. I don't think this place blows away the Toronto food scene but I do think it fits in nicely, filling a niche that was missing before.

Great burger. The space is terrific with fun art on the wall. Gotta try the butter tart concrete.
