We booked this hotel on the basis of great reviews, expecting something special, but it’s clear this hotel is trading on past glories. On the positive side, the location is perfect , the parking is private and free and the rooms large . However, far from being antique and quirky, the rooms are dated and a bit scruffy . Our superior room had a badly damaged bathroom door and slats missing from the blinds . It’s important to note that booking sites show pictures of fabulous food in a wonderful dining room and terrace . The restaurant has been closed since Covid as has the bar so half the hotels communal areas are unavailable. Breakfast is taken on tables set up in the former lounge / bar and frankly the buffet breakfast was lukewarm and poor quality , especially the ‘fruit’ option. Staff on the front desk are helpful although staff in the breakfast room seemed bored and don’t even say good morning. This hotel charges more than other 4 star hotels I looked at and you can do much better for the same price in Vilnius - a shame as the hotel was clearly lovely at some point I really can’t understand the glowing reviews.

The hotel is in a really nice area. The hotel style is exactly what you see in the pictures. We stayed at the ground flor, but it was quiet and we have no complain about noises. Our room was a little cold though. The breakfast was really good.

This is a very stylish and cozy hotel, set up in the style of an old-time country inn with a (slightly forced) literary theme; rooms are named after canonical writers and have book exchange shelves. Staff were efficient. My room was nice though rather small and a bit dated. The electronic key card system is annoyingly noisy at night when people to the left and right of you return to their rooms, plus I had the vending machine right next to my door, so some more shrill beeping sounds there. Ground floor rooms facing the street also have a slight noise problem, since there are lots of happy pedestrians, families, tour groups etc. walking the street at all times. On the plus side: fantastic breakfast, served in a truly grand and majestic upstairs parlour. This alone was worth the price of admission.

Excellent location, super central with parking (not free). I liked that they are pet friendly. The rooms are disappointing, very outdated. The bathroom was not ventilated and smelled bad. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel, but a mediocre 3-star one. Pretty bad value for money. I would not stay here again, because there are other options that I think are better.

Excellent location, even with the guest who travels by car. In old town but still so quiet, rooms were comfortable and spacious with all the facilities. Bed was large and comfortable, room was clean and breakfast was also good. The building was medieval, staff was polite.

I stayed at the Shakespeare Boutique Hotel for 2 nights recently whilst on a solo trip in Vilnius. I chose this hotel as it was well situated right in the Old Town which made everything I wanted to see and do a short walking distance away and had breakfast included which made the stay cheaper and more convenient for me. I felt very safe at the hotel and it was located in quiet surroundings. The staff were very kind and friendly. I would recommend to others booking a city break in Vilnius.

Shakespeare Boutique Hotel is a wonderful blend of vintage charm and comfort. The 16th-century English-style decor creates a unique and cozy atmosphere, making the stay feel like stepping into a classic novel. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully furnished, offering both elegance and warmth. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options to start the day right. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Plus, the location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Vilnius, within walking distance of all the key sights. It’s not overly posh, but tastefully designed, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate history, style, and comfort. Highly recommended for a unique stay in Vilnius!

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Shakespeare. It was aided by the way we were treated especially by Martynas who sorted out a bad experience we had with an on line travel agent. The key message to all who read this is BOOK DIRECT. You will be rewarded.
