Great location and view of Gangas river. Bed is comfortable, bathroom can be a bit cleaner. They have a cafe inside lots of food options though I didn’t have the opportunity to try, they sometimes have live music and was nice to hang around the cafe. The staff is helpful and friendly, came with a concern and it was handled professionally and made sure it was resolved straight away. Thank you Surinder for the warm and friendly hospitality and the staff for making me feel comfortable in the hostel.

Had the pleasure of staying here as a solo traveller for a total of 3 Nights. The food in cafe was excellent with a very well-priced menu. Mr. Surendra was an excellent host, always eager to help. Similarly, Mr. Amit of the staff was also amazing to interact with, as he always served me with a smile. Also, the view from the cafe is nothing short of amazing. The dorm rooms are fine, with nothing major to complain about, but also nothing out of the blue to rave about. The only single complain I have is the lack of interactivity with other solo travellers present, if any.

I stayed at Shalom, and both the dorm and the cafe were absolutely amazing. The view from the cafe was so mesmerizing — it literally made me cancel my plan to leave and stay longer! The host, Gaurav, was super sweet, understanding and genuinely warm. The rest of the staff was also very kind and helpful. And the best part? At Shalom, I met strangers who have now become my best friends. Truly an unforgettable experience!

The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious — perfect for a relaxed stay. The location is excellent, close to all the key spots yet peaceful enough to unwind. A special mention to Gaurav, who truly made our trip unforgettable. He went out of his way to help us explore Rishikesh like a local, they arranging everything from rafting and bungee jumping to other adventure activities seamlessly at great prices. We also met some wonderful travelers here and made amazing memories. Their cafe also had very tasty food. Big thanks to Surinder as well, who ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The hospitality and vibe of this place are unmatched — highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rishikesh!

Stayed for Two Nights. Had a Pleasant and Comfortable Experience. Check-in: The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The property offers online check-in, and the front desk representative was courteous and guided through the process. Room: The room was spacious and well-equipped with all essential amenities such as an electric kettle, refillable glass water bottle. The lighting was warm and created a pleasant ambience. The washroom was spotless and stocked with clean towel and toiletries. The room also featured a balcony/terrace, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the cool breeze and soothing sounds of the holy River Ganga. Property & Facilities: The property is clean, well-maintained, and offers a delightful experience overall. It features a Yoga Center, an in-house cafe serving delicious food, and a Table Tennis area for recreation. Adventure activities like rafting and bungee jumping can be booked at the reception. Two wheelers are also available for rent directly from the property through the reception, without any security deposit, which is a big plus. Location: The location is excellent, close to the market and major attractions like Laxman Jhula, Tapovan Ghat, and nearby waterfalls. Location is ideal for shopping, sightseeing, cafe hopping as well as relaxation. Overall: A wonderful stay experience, pleasant, comfortable, and memorable. Highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Rishikesh. Improvements: Not much to say regarding this as the stay was great but additional games like carrom, darts can be added for recreation and the timings for in-house kitchen can be improved or a station to prepare late night tea coffee can be provided as well.

My stay at shalom Backpackers turned into one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. I got a cosy 6-bed dorm with a beautiful view, but what truly touched my heart was something far more special. Around 3 AM, in the freezing 7° Rishikesh night, I suddenly got my periods and had absolutely nothing with me. I was stressed, uncomfortable, and honestly on the verge of tears. Me and my husband went to the reception hoping for help, and that’s when we met 𝐌𝐫.𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚— the true hero of this hostel. He checked everywhere, even went to the girls’ dorm (which was empty), and when he couldn’t find anything, he simply said, “Don’t worry, I’ll get it.” At 3 AM, in that cold, he and my husband actually went 8 km away to the nearest chemist to buy a sanitary pad for me. That moment… I can’t explain. I felt so cared for, so safe. It’s rare to meet people who go out of their way with so much kindness. I genuinely had tears in my eyes. shalom Backpackers is beautiful, but people like Surendra make it unforgettable. If you ever visit, please say hi to him — he truly deserves all the appreciation. ❤️✨

Had an excellent time at shalom! This hostel has an excellent view of the ganges, you can actually see and hear the river from the balcony and common areas. The location is very happening, right in the middle of the market area but still apart from it. Excellent food, great staff and service, clean rooms. And the property manager Mr. Gaurav was very triendly and helptul. Will detinitely recommend this for people who are looking for a raw and peacetul vibe at super affordable rates. Add photos
