Shambala has a special place in my heart. Each time I’m there, I feel so happy to have found it and so nourished by the experience. The connections; the kindness; the honesty; the laughs. I feel like it shapes me into the best version of myself. Then there’s the food, the forest, the sauna, the lake, the time to play and just be… It’s hard to leave, but easier for me this time, as I’ll be coming back again in October. So much gratitude, so much love.

I was volunteer there for one moth and a half and it was a Wonderful experience. living in community, the yogic life, the values, the love, the emotions, is the best place to coltivate your inner child and knowing yourself better. Every week a differet retreat with many teachers coming from different place and different tradition and approach. A full immersion in Self knowledge. Vegan food is amazing, the place is immersed in the forest with a lake where to swimming.

I highly recommend attending a retreat at Shambala. It offers great deals and is easily accessible by public transportation. The owners have a proven track record for creating a safe and welcoming environment for healing, relaxing, learning, and/or developing one’s practice. With a beautiful backdrop of nature (that’s beckoned me to return multiple times), you will find an ideal balance of intimate community and solitude. Shambala oozes with “lagom” (as they say in Swedish); not too much, not too little. If you are on the fence, sign up, you won’t regret it.

I Love this place, I have returned here many times each summer since 10 years. They have a way of making everyone feel at home and welcomed. Here I can sink into a healthy, balanced and fun daily routine. And for me it's important to have the balance between seeing all of the inspiring people here, but also having alone time and quietude, which I find in the forest, lake, sauna, tipi, in the silent mornings, in my room or in a yoga class. I feel recharged and happy when I'm here and I'm so glad these kind of retreat centres exist!

Shambalaaa! You caught my heart at first sight. I went to Shambala this summer to drop off my girlfriend, cause she was volunteering. After catching the vibe for 1 day, I travelled a bit on my own, but couldn't get this place out of my head. I decided to go back and join the Midsummar retreat as a guest. This was such a beautiful loving, co-creative, musically inviting and socially enriching experience, that after going home, I still ended up thinking about Shambala all the time. So I went back again, to volunteer for 4 weeks. Half a year later, I am now very happy to be a manager for 4 months. It is such a beautiful place where there is a safe, loving and supporting community where you meet amazing, interesting people. The food is crazy good. It's a beautiful place to explore where your strengths lie and how you can use these in a community setting. It really empowered me in exploring myself as a coach for voice liberation and to hold kirtans. If you are looking for a place to learn about living together in community, discovering it's gems and it's challenges, while supported by a very loving team, this is the place to go!

This place has truly captured my heart. It's an incredible community full of mindful, talented people. This is my first real volunteer experience, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. Every day feels like I'm at home, surrounded by something much bigger than myself.

The owners takes months off in Portugal, leaving the work and cooking and organisation run only with volunteers. On the volunteer contract there's nothing written about having showers and bathroom outdoors while it's winter! Inequality is the normality, one volunteer gets a whole house for himself others have to share the same room among 3 people! or get a cold room that nobody else wanted it, that had black mold before...cleaned up by volunteers! With our schedule the promised 3 yoga classes minimum per week it's not FEASIBLE. Waste of my money and time!
