Shambaling Boutique Hotel

Shamballing is literally an OASIS in busy Kathmandu. Once you arrive, they greet you with a hot lemon and ginger tea and they put a white scarf around your neck as a sign of respect and honor. This gesture made us feel so special and welcomed! The rooms are just gorgeous and spacious. The food at the restaurant is delicious and staff are extremely friendly. We used the spa and it was also very good value for money. Our family stayed in 2 adjacent rooms connected with a double door, which was very convenient for us. The rooms and the hotel in general were spotless. The location cannot be beaten: you are walking distance to the Boudhanah Stuppa, which was such a plus, not having to deal with traffic. We spent our last 2 days in Nepal there, and we loved it. It was the perfect stay to unwind and get some last minuet souvenirs and mementos from our trip. The area is so much better than Thamel in terms of being so much less busy! But you can also find beautiful things, coffee shops around the Stuppa, places to eat, etc, without it being as hectic as other areas in Kathmandu. Definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an amazing stay in Kathmandu!!!

Shambling hotel is a hidden haven amidst the chaotic city of Kathmandu. Building designed in Tibetan style, decorated tastefully and the staff attentive polite and all in smile was one of the most welcoming moment in Kathmandu. Rooms spacious only inconvenience was the bedside lights were a little dim to read in bed. Overall excellent. Thankyou

I was very impressed with Shambaling - the management runs a tight ship. Rooms are scrupulously clean, well appointed (I had a deluxe room which was great, and was then kindly upgraded to a suite which was wonderful); staff are well trained, genuinely hospitable; and as a hassled traveller moving from my previous hotel (which was a disappointment) I had the continual sense of being in good hands. |I would recommend this to all travellers wanting to stay in the Boudha area and hope the management maintains its high standards.

We had a very nice and pleasant stay at shambaling.||They staff made us feel very special, they are extremely nice and helpful.||The restaurant serves really nice food. And they have plenty of relaxing massage, yoga and meditation to offer.||I definitely recommend this place. Its a real gem in the business of Kathmandu.

charming hotel where you will receive a warm welcome. We keep coming back to these fantastic people. The room is elegant and comfortable, extremely clean and the bathroom even has a rain shower and always hot water (not a given in Nepal). The food is also excellent and the breakfast delicious every day. When the weather is nice, on the terrace. The location is quiet and yet a short distance from the Stupa in the attractive Bouddha district. We'll be back this month!

I wanted to provide an update to my initial review from last week. I purchased a piece of art from the hotel, and I’m happy to share that it arrived safely in the USA. I’m truly impressed by the honest and professional business approach of the owners, and I feel this deserves special recognition.
