If you’re in Tannersville, Shandaken Bake is a must-visit. Craig’s dedication and passion for baking shine through in every bite. The care and attention to detail in each pastry, especially the delicious Chubby Squirrel, made for a truly special experience. We couldn’t wait to get home to try it—it was exceptional. And the key lime pie. It’s truly a work of art ⭐️. Thank you for the wonderful memories and warm hospitality; we look forward to returning!

We recently visited Tannersville, New York. We had asked our Airbnb hosts to send us a recommendation for a bakery, for a cake for my son’s birthday, and I am So happy they recommended Shandaken Bake! The cake was delicious and super cute too. We knew this was a place we had to come back to - we wanted to try all the baked goods we could. We went two other days in a row, and started off the morning with the most perfect biscuits. Both were excellent, but the Cheddar + Chive Biscuit was extra special. We ended up taking other things home with us both days, and everything was fantastic - the Chocolate Chunk Cookie, the Blueberry Buckle, the Chubby Squirrel, the Chocolate Banana Bread and the Banana Cake. We can’t wait for our next visit to the area because we know there are other goodies that we still need to try. Besides the taste, quality, and presentation of the baked goods themselves, the bakery is perfectly set-up for sitting and eating or picking up. It is a very well thought out space, impeccably designed not only for functionally for food preparation and customer service, but it is also a beautiful space. You have to see for yourself. The owner also couldn’t be nicer. We really enjoyed talking to him, and we appreciate his obvious passion for what he does. Go visit Craig at Shandaken and experience a culinary delight, or two - you won’t be disappointed!

Must visit this small bakery shop! Unfortunately only opened a few days a week but worth the wait! Located in the small town of Tannersville location is perfect. Get some coffee and goods while exploring this quaint town or have a seat in the backyard while enjoying the scenery. Owner is pleasant to talk to; very sweet and loves what he does. Word of advice try coming early as the lines tend to get long..fast. That’s how good it is! But they move quickly. For large orders owner might make accommodations. I did order in advance, of course a bit of everything he had made (every week is something surprising, different and delicious). I follow his instagram account in where I’m able to see the week’s menu. My recommendations: Key lime pie tastes so fresh! But my favorite was the German chocolate cake! It tasted just right not too sweet that it overpowered the chocolate or coconut. Also you can taste the freshness in each item. Love love ! Highly recommend !!

Walking in here the first time we were greeted like old friends by the wonderful proprietor Craig. The key lime pie is amazing. The chubby squirrel tail is amazing. The folks behind the counter are attentive and friendly. The scones are amazing. If there are tarts available, then definitely order some. It is wonderful how some of the baked goods follow the seasonal abundance of the filling. If you follow Craig on the 'gram, you get to find out if he opens up for evening hours.

Finally got to this amazing bakery. Very friendly owner and staff. Owners baking delights are a work of art! Key lime pie is incredible and all the other treats we purchased were simply mouth watering. Looking forward to going there again soon.

This is one of the best things to come to the mountain top in quite some time. The baked goods here meet city standards of the top bakeries. Service is boutique style, the interior is quaint and calming, and overall, it’s by far the best bakery in the area. The keylime pie is the best I’ve ever had, I’m a huge fan of the chocolate covered banana bread, cheddar chive biscuits are out of this world, and to be quite honest, anything you get is going to be good here.

A must-stop if you're anywhere near Tannerville/Catskills. Easily the best key lime pie I've ever had and everything we had was amazing (biscuits, banana bread, etc). The outdoor seating feels like a perfect getaway to enjoy your baked to perfection treats and have a lovely coffee breathing in the mountain air!

Was at the Catskills and decided to try this bakery but it was all sold out. Apparently it opens at 10am and a majority of the good stuff is sold out in 1-2 hrs. We came back the next day at 10 and were able to try a lot of things. They were all amazing. My favorite was the chubby squirrel (a scone apple pie combo) and the key lime pie. The owner Craig is also super nice. Will be back if I ever come back to the Catskills. Edit: Came back and got more amazing pastries. Just as good as last time if not better

Yelp
Really glad I made the trip over during store hours! This place is only open for 3 hours on 3 days, but it's absolutely worth it. While my son and I came at 10 (and thought we'd have options), most items were sold out by then! However, still worth going in because the owner had some sweet treats stashed away in the back. Of what we were able to try, we enjoyed it all - the key lime pie was not too sweet or tart, and it felt really fluffy; the banana bread crumble melted in your mouth; and the carrot cake was filled with carrots and nuts, and a nice layer of cream cheese frosting. There was a line even with limited offerings, so if you go, definitely recommend getting there early! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding baked goods. I just ate the best key lime pie I have ever had. But the whole pie, you will never be able to eat just one slice. The owner is also super nice.

Yelp
This local gem is one of the best small bakeries I've been to. The bakery has a great selection of unique items, but things sell out quickly. We arrived ten minutes after opening and a long line had already formed. The line did not get any shorter, so I'd recommend arriving early. The chubby squirrel and maple chocolate cupcakes were highlights, but everything is good. They have coffee as well, but there are better options for coffee in the area.

Yelp
We're in town for a birthday celebration. Staying at Hotel Mountain Brook around the corner. We noticed this bakery when we were having dinner at Pancho's across the street so we were going to try back the next day. Our hotel also highly recommends this bakery so we were even more excited to try it. Bakeries are my jam! You can bribe me with bakery treats any day. We walked into town on Saturday morning and the bakery was our first stop. It's such a cute little bakery. Very simple and lovely. I love the labels, fonts are my thing too. The bakery items looked AMAZING!!! We had a group of people with us so we were all trying to figure out what to get. I ended up getting a slice of the olive oil carrot cake and peanut butter cookie. I freaking love carrot cake and this cake looked divine. The peanut butter cookie had this gorgeous caramelization and I had to have it. It was perfection. Seriously. And I ate it as soon as I left, it did not disappoint. Crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. The owner was working and we chatted with him about his bakery. We couldn't stop gushing about how cute his place was. When he was grabbing my cookie, I told him that was the cookie I was eyeing. He responded with, "I always grab the best option!" He was just the nicest person and so personable. I loved talking to him. You can tell he was so proud of his treats. As he should be. We legit wanted to buy EVERYTHING!!! If you're in Tannersville, NY...add this spot to your list. You won't be sorry. #yourewelcome

Yelp
Some of the best baked goods I've ever had. Very high quality. Key lime pie, biscuits, this scone thing that also was an apple turnover. They know what they're doing! What a gem. Get there early- a line will form.
