Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland

I recently stayed at the InterContinental Wonderland for my son's birthday, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Although the hotel is not far from downtown Shanghai, the atmosphere felt completely different—like a hidden world. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special experience in Shanghai.The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, especially Sofia and Alice. I believe Sofia is dedicated to assisting international guests. She supported us not only before check-in but also throughout our stay. During dinner, she went above and beyond by arranging a reservation for our family and surprising my son with a birthday cake and gift—it was incredibly touching.Alice was the only staff member who spoke Korean, and she kindly answered all our questions in our native language, which made our stay much more comfortable and relaxed.Everything during our time at the hotel was wonderful for my entire family. I truly appreciate the unforgettable memories you helped us create.

We really enjoyed staying this hotel. I cannot speak Chinese well, but many staff can communicate in English. Especially one manager?, her name Sofiia, she entertained and treated us well. That day was my daughter’s birthday, she so excited with surprise gift from hotel, and wrote down a kind of letter to all the staff members. I already recommended this hotel to my colleagues.

Our check-in process was extremely smooth with knowledgeable staff. To our surprise we were upgraded to the gorgeous suite we could only dream of staying at, and intercontinental truly gave us a memorable and comfortable stay. All the services and food were naturally of 5-star standard, and have already recommended this hotel to many of our friends and family. Big shout out to the manager who upgraded us, regrettably I did not get her name but thanks to her I had a great first night for my first time in Shanghai.

The SheShan Intercontinental certainly benefits from its social media appeal — the setting is undeniably unique and photogenic. However, beyond the initial impression, the experience doesn’t quite live up to the premium price tag.||On weekends, especially during the summer holidays or public breaks, the hotel feels overcrowded and hectic. The atmosphere lacks the sense of exclusivity or relaxation one might expect at this price point.||The property itself shows signs of wear and tear. For what they charge, you’d expect a more polished and well-maintained environment. In fact, there are many five-star hotels across China that offer a far superior experience for less than half the price.

InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is a fantastic choice for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The fresh air and nearby parks create a perfect atmosphere for unwinding, and the Wonder City Amusement Park, just a 5-minute walk away, adds an extra touch of fun to the experience. The hotel offers a delicious buffet, a great pool, and a well-equipped gym. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to visit the spa, which means we’ll have to come back again!A huge thank you to Sofiia, Seven, Vincent, and Alisa for their outstanding service—they answered all of our questions and made our stay as comfortable as possible, prepared a room with an amazing view for us. Special thanks to Bambi and Cora for preparing delicious complimentary desserts for us. Also, a big shoutout to Amiya, who helped organize room service late at night—super convenient! I also really enjoyed The Cliff Show, and I appreciate Sofiia reminding us about it by sending a helpful notice.The staff is available 24/7 and speaks English, Russian, and Korean, which made communication effortless. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This hotel is truly a must visit at least once in your life. The architecture and design are absolutely stunning. Our room was clean, spacious, and offered a breathtaking view. The service was top notch every staff member was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was a delight with a wide variety of delicious options.One of the highlights was the spectacular nighttime show by the cliff, which we could enjoy right from our room. It was an unforgettable, world class performance that made every penny spent on our stay totally worth it. Highly recommended!

A PERFECT PLACE TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY From beginning to end, it’s been so much fun. We were greeted cordially by friendly smiles by the front desk staff. They were aware it’s my birthday, thus, upgraded my room with the best view of the water falls and decorated my room as well for this special occasion. Alisa from front desk is an exemplary and outstanding staff greeting me with a smile and keeping in touch during my stay ensuring that we have everything we need. Dinner time, I got a complimentary birthday cake. Part of the package is Shenkang Wonderland where we had super fun time. At night, we could watch from our balcony the 30-minute amazing Center of the Earth Platform: Cliff Light and Shadow Show. Afterwards at 930pm, we saw the beautiful Lobby Water Curtain Show. The following morning, we had an exhilarating one hour In-hotel travel photography with super friendly and professional photographer named Yan. Kudos as well to our nice room attendant named Amber. Lastly, when I checked out the front desk officers were really warm and gave me a stuff toy gift from Intercontinental. Their names are Sofia, Seven and Cora. From beginning to end, it’s an indeed a perfect place to celebrate one’s special day. Thank you to the staff of Intercontinental Wonderland Hotel. It’s the best and memorable hotel Ive been to. You truly make your guest feel important and special.If you want to have a memorable, enjoyable, fun-filled celebration. This is the best place to go to. Super love this hotel!

My whole family had a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities—especially loved the comfortable bed and the great water pressure in the shower.The whole experience with the hotel being in a quarry and the light show at night was truly spectacular, the whole family enjoyed it. I also appreciated the on-site restaurant, which offered a tasty breakfast buffet with plenty of options.The only flaw would be the activities on the water was really loud with music playing during the afternoon that interrupted our afternoon nap.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with an amazing experience.
