Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland

Spent a night here with the family in a club room on the 11th floor in a twin room. Beds were big as my daughter who is 5 share with my wife and the bathroom had a large bath. The advertisement said a spa bath and it was a large bath but had no jet features. Balcony was large with a great view of the cliffs and activities. ||Club access was also provided with some afternoon tea consisting of cakes and hot food, teas, coffee and soft drinks. Cocktail drinks were also served and had most drinks but not gin, some prosecco and beers. Food was also provided and enough for an evening meal. However, some food choices went very quickly and were.replaced with chicken nuggets and chips which was disappointing considering it's a lounge. Cold beers were also at a premium and only a few cold beers of each option were provided. Breakfast was really good and is on par with most top hotels in Shanghai. ||Activities were really good and from check in to check out we had an action packed 24hrs with a comfortable sleep in between. ||Service was fine for the time we were there but nothing special compared to other hotels in Shanghai. So if you want to stay in a unique place away from the hassle and bussle of Shanghai this is a good option. But if you just want to stay in an amazing hotel Shanghai has plenty of options.

Great Experience - We spent a great weekend there in June 2025 and we will come back. The hotel overall could benefit from a renovation, but it is very well kept and its location and the architecture compensates for that. Fun pool, and activities, small but functional gym. The light show is beautiful. The dinner buffet is a bit expensive, but it offers an incredible food variety, including sushi and breakfast offers great variety of Western food. The aquarium restaurant is nice, set menu average, buffet is much better. Absolutely great place for small children, with a play area and a small amusement park walking distance from the hotel. happy Valley is less than 20Minutes away. I want to commend the great work of Sofia from the concierge, who received us and quickly responded to all of our requests and made our stay truly special.

We were particularly impressed with the fantastic light show in the evening and the relaxing atmosphere that honors the location's history.Our room was not only clean and spacious but also extremely comfortable—the large bed and the balcony made our stay perfect. The view of the show from our room was unbeatable. The service was outstanding, and the staff's friendliness was second to none.The breakfast buffet was a true delight, offering a huge and high-quality selection. There were also great extras like a kids' play area, which we really appreciated. Despite the higher price point, the hotel is worth the investment for the unique experience and first-class service. It's an absolute must for anyone seeking a relaxing and unforgettable holiday!

Was very eager to visit this hotel for its architectural features and breakthroughs. However, was sorely disappointed by its poor maintenance. The rooms and corridors smell dank. The corridors were poorly lit and furnitures were scratched and not well maintained. It definitely does not reflect the standard of an intercontinental hotel. The international management should look into how to improve the maintenance so it won’t let down the amazing effort of the architectural team and all those who poured their heart into making this feat of engineering. I would even say it’s a disgrace to the hotel chain. We paid extra for lounge access. The selection was limited, and half of it were barely edible. The bread was stale, the chips were soggy… the cups in the room were so old. I can’t believe we paid all this money for this.

Although the hotel is not far from downtown Shanghai, the atmosphere felt completely different—like a hidden world. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special experience in Shanghai.The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, especially Sofia and Alice. I believe Sofia is dedicated to assisting international guests. She supported us not only before check-in but also throughout our stay. During dinner, she went above and beyond by arranging a reservation for our family and surprising my son with a birthday cake and gift—it was incredibly touching.Alice was the only staff member who spoke Korean, and she kindly answered all our questions in our native language, which made our stay much more comfortable and relaxed.Everything during our time at the hotel was wonderful for my entire family. I truly appreciate the unforgettable memories you helped us create.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The facilities were excellent, offering everything we needed for a comfortable experience.
