Why Shanghai’s rejuvenated Huangpu riverfront is worth checking out - SilverKris

"A modern cruise terminal that marks the start of the northern riverfront redevelopment, surrounded by corporate glass towers, forested riverfront parks and extensive new walkways; the area features colour-coded lanes for cycling, jogging and strolling and incorporates green belts with retail and dining tucked into subterranean mall spaces." - SilverKris

This is a great way to spend the later evening after having some dinner. Just make sure to get your tickets in advance, because this place fills up really fast. There are three levels to the ship, which can hold a hundred easily, which has different dining options if you want. Ours was a buffet style. There are lots of night cruise boats operating these waters and you get to see some really unusual buildings too.

Great views and vibes. You can’t cross to the other side of the water on foot, no tunnels or bridges. The only option is a 35 minute detour with an underground stop 😂

Modern & Well-Organized Cruise Terminal Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal is modern, spacious, and well-managed. Immigration and security processes are smooth and clearly guided. The terminal is clean, with helpful staff and good signage in English. Great city views of the skyline add to the experience. Overall, a pleasant and efficient cruise terminal.Efficient but Can Get Crowded The terminal is well-structured and easy to navigate. Check-in and customs are systematic, though it can get crowded during peak cruise timings. Facilities are clean and basic amenities are available. Location is excellent with scenic river views.Good Experience for International Travelers A well-maintained international cruise terminal with smooth embarkation and disembarkation. Staff are cooperative and procedures are organized. Seating areas are decent, though more food options would be helpful for long waits.

The North Bund International Passenger Center Located along the North Bund waterfront, the North Bund International Passenger Center features a 1,197-meter riverside shoreline along the Huangpu River. The center is adjacent to the Grand Halls and nestled alongside the iconic architectural clusters of the Bund, offering panoramic views of the modern Lujiazui skyline across the river. Boasting prime river views, the center serves as an ideal venue for a diverse array of commercial activities. It has witnessed the significant moments of several top brands and is a prime location for new product launches, fashion pop-ups, cultural events, and entertainment activities. The venue features diverse spaces, including water show areas, waterfront spaces, green cultural spaces, and more. Formerly known as the Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal, the North Bund International Passenger Center boasts a 160-year-old terminal. It is the birthplace of China's home port cruise industry and the first home port in Shanghai for cruise ships traversing the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is the only dock in the core section of the Huangpu River qualified to accommodate foreign yachts and the world's first international cruise terminal certified by Lloyd's Register of Shipping. As Shanghai's earliest established port, the North Bund International Passenger Center, with its unique geographical advantages, has become Shanghai's water gateway.

You can board a cruise of the river through Shanghai here, which is especially beautiful at night. A whole new view of the city from the river, with its lights reflected in the water. Can be a bit crowded and difficult to move around the boat, but the boat does a loop, so get a good vantage point on one side of the boat, and you will get a good view of the Bund on one leg, and Pudong Island on the other!

Lavish and modern airport, need to come in advance, need around 1-1.5 hours to drop baggage, immigration and security check. Also need some time to walk to the gate.

Great location with good views of the city. The garden around with lights everywhere is a must see. They host private events all the time, some of them outside. The ferry is great way to visit the city, but during the weekends there are usually long queues.

Magnificent skyline views at night from our ship. Walking distance to the Bund. Not always easy to get taxi at front of terminal, so use Grab app.
