I've stayed her twice within a short period of time and in a standard and deluxe room (can't remember the specific naming). The staff are friendly enough and always helped with directions or room questions. Many people here have complained that there isn't great customer service here, but you're greeted and interacted with in a friendly but efficient manner and they're never rude. If you want sickly sweet concierge type staff, book a hotel buddy. ||||The rooms are clean to the point of above acceptable. Again, if you want the grout in the bathrooms bleached and floors that shine, you're expecting too much of your hostel budget. But bedding and towels are clean, the floor is swept and there is plenty of dust free storage. ||||My first trip, I was on the 1st floor and in a room at the end of a long corridor. The sound carries horrifically through these hallways and your door does little to stifle it. I was woken up constantly by inconsiderate arrivals in the middle of the night. 11pm, I've got not problem with. 3am and shouting how "epic it is to be in China".....not so much. This obviously isn't wholly the hostels fault, but a little insulation around your doors might help. ||||My second trip, I was in a deluxe room on the ground floor to the side of the hostel. You get your own decking with a chair and table in these rooms which was a nice touch. You also have a TV and hairdryer, unlike the other rooms. The bathroom felt a lot larger but their both fine. Despite these little extras, I would avoid these rooms at all costs. You have a large window and door which does absolutely zero to dampen sound outside. The cleaners are up at an ungodly hour and don't care who hears them. The doors to these rooms don't seem to lock easily so everyone slams them shut, shaking the whole wall of windows along with their own. Then there is an area where they hang washing on the room of these rooms. You can hear everyone stomping around all day and night here too. Totally not worth the money and if I'd stayed in this room the first time, I wouldn't have come back. ||||My final point on this hostel is the atmosphere. The bar area is large and well furnished with tables, chairs and a pool table. Food is only served 8-2 and 5+, and the staff literally shout at you if you bring outside food in. I brought a bubble tea back with me at 4:50 and fully intended to buy dinner at the hostel with 2 guests, but the barman shouted at us to leave with the drink so we went elsewhere. I think this weird attitude and the odd food times create a strange atmosphere where people don't really interact or create any sort of buzz. ||||I would stay here again because of the price and location to public transport, but would absolutely pick the right room!

We hired a luxury room in the garden. We could choose and had finally the room at the end of the garden. It's very quiet there, room is big enough, there is a terrace and we had nothing to do with the hostel. Staff is ok, English ok. Bathroom is ok.||Wifi is nothing, not even sending a mail was possible. Maybe when sitting near the reception it would be better?||Prices for breakfast, food and drinks are too high. It's better to go to the family mart for breakfast, there are " of them between the mrt station and the hostel. In the metro station exit 7 is a food street, there you have a choice for a good price||Location is good. With mrt line 2(10 minutes walking) you can go anywhere in the city. This line has connection with all the big mrt lines in Shanghai||From Pudong airport you take the maglevn then line 2, it cost totaly 44 RMB

I was on a solo trip and choose the hostel because it has some private rooms en-suite. It was scrupulously clean and had a coffee room with plenty of plugs. WiFi was excellent throughout. One night a week they put on a guest movie. The Post was on when I was there. The is an excellent buffet restaurant around the corner, turn right and right again. You can see all the dishes laid out. I highly recommend the hostel as the staff are helpful and friendly. They also have washing machines and dryers which are cheap to use and washing powder is available in small quantities at reception.

Older travellers or otherwise dont be put off by the 'Youth Hostel' label. This is a great place to stay with very clean and comfortable private ensuite rooms at great prices. Added to that there is a comfortable lounge/bar/restaurant area selling good local food(some western) at good local prices.Nothing rip off here.||Staff are friendly and English is spoken. As with all hostels in SE Asia service is good and there is plenty of help arranging tours and onward travel. Very near Line 4 subway so easy reach if central Shanghai.||Great atmosphere of peace and calm, very quiet so good nights sleep. Enjoyed film night too. Woukd highly recommend especially if you have just arrived in China for the first time.

We stopped by for a few hours of sleep prior our second trip to New Zealand. We booked a double room with contained bathroom. The standard was high for a hostel, the room was clean and the service extremely friendly. We stayed during the day and even tough the hostel is in the middle of Shanghai, it’s very quiet even at daytime. |Recommendation: order a cappuccino at the hostels‘ bar, it’s really good!

Overall, the hostel is clean. I particularly like its common area because it's spacious and there is a small but nice pool next to it. Lots of people hang out in the common area because it's comfortable. I might be wrong, but I think that perhaps all dorm are mixed dorm, it might be a concern to some people. Send a message to the hostel if you need to find out more. ||||The staff speaks good english. They serve decent western food, coffee and alcohol drinks. Besides, hostel is equipped with washing machine. ||||15 mins walk to the nearest subway station. The hostel itself is tucked away in a quite place within a mature and developed neighbourhood. Therefore, getting your supplies, be it daily necessities, food, medicine is not a problem. ||||I would definitely come back here if I travel to Shanghai again.

Hostels location is perfect for pretty much all of sightseeing you'd like to do in Shanghai. Metro is a 5 minute walk away (ya'an road - line 3). There's an awesome pub right across the street of metro station (Beer Lady), it's a must for all beer lovers!||Anyhow hostel has a great bar next to the reception desk, with much better prices across the board (food included) than any other restaurant near by. English speaking staff, pretty good WiFi connection, facilities are OK.. ||Definitely worth the money you spent!||Only complication you might have is if you'd like to check out very early (before the time that reception desk opens) since there's a non English speaking person "guarding" the area and is a bit harder to communicate with. In that case pre-order a taxi if you need one!

Room was very nice. Equipped with kettle and cups. Clean bathroom with towels except the toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap) The lobby is fantastic. Garden is beautiful and tranquil, perfect for leasuring around and contemplating. Bar is totally equipped 😊🍻. People who stayed here were very friendly and nice. There is a general feeling of safety and trust so everyone's stuff is all over the place which makes it feel certainly like home. Big love for this place.
