Shangri-La Boracay

"Providing "a great resort experience that everyone should enjoy," this property on 30 acres debuted in 2009. The main building is an open pavilion with a pitched roof and an exterior of local coral stone. Public areas create a sense of place with ten-foot-high tribal drums, carved wooden sculptures, and local art. "We had a gorgeous private villa with a pool right near the ocean--incredible." Room interiors showcase handwoven textiles, sconces made of local capiz shells, and oars framed as art. "The beautiful sunsets were eclipsed only by the great personal service." Seafood is the focus at the cliffside Sirena."

"Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa is located in one of the Philippines’ most popular vacation spots. And while it has all the musts—the turquoise waters, the powdered-sugar shores, the lush hills—what it doesn't have is the crowds. And therein lies the resort’s beauty, or at least some of it. Tucked into an eco-reserve with its own shimmering beach, the Shangri-La is also home to a canopy-cloaked dining aerie, sunset-surveying clifftop cabanas, and a peninsular spa on a private bay. Accommodations are impeccably appointed with local touches (think woven abaca rugs and lamps bedecked with capiz shells), and several of the lodgings feel more like private vacation homes. Take the aptly named treehouse villa, for example, where the canopy-level second story commands stunning sea views (best enjoyed from the hot tub on the balcony), or the pool villas, where the lure of en suite swimming almost overpowers the sea just outside."

I am from the Philippines and i have been to Boracay so many times but it is my first time to stay here in Shangrila. The hotel is located outside the tourist area where different stations of the heach are located but if you want some relaxation and privacy, this is the place to be. Service was top notch! You will be served like a very special guest no matter what room are you staying in. Staff are very accomodating and friendly. The area is so big, full of flora and fauna so you will feel that you are really creating memories with nature. There are 4 restaurants around the vicinity so you need to go out to satisfy your food cravings. Amenities are complete too, with pool, spa, gym, playground and you can also walk along the beach. Breakfast are superb, with lots of variation. Rooms are big and toiletries are biodegradable. This hotel is highly recommended

We were hugely impressed with the Shangri-La Boracay, especially the service provided by the staff. As others have mentioned, the staff not only provide excellent service but do it with such a friendly and positive attitude too. The food was excellent in all of the outlets and we noticed that the staff always repeated our food order back to us - very well trained! I personally appreciated the free 'house water' because I drink a lot of water and hate paying for the expensive bottled stuff. Other highlights included the spa where we got excellent treatments and the on-site dive shop where our daughters learned to scuba dive. ||We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa and it was definitely worth it for the spaciousness, private pool, and butler service. Our morning host checked in on us every morning at breakfast making us feel like real VIPs. There's lots of nice freebies such as soda, juice, and beer in the minibar, and I enjoyed the outdoor shower attached to our bedroom (there is an indoor one as well). The bathrooms are getting a bit old, but it was fine because everything else was amazing. If we ever return to Boracay, we will definitely stay here again!

I was not sure what to expect but the Shangri-La Boracay surpassed all my expectations. It was hands down the best hotel I've stayed at. Everything from the rooms, the facilities, the staff, the food etc. was amazing. From the moment you step out of the airport and you meet the Shangri-La representative, everything is taken care for you. The resort is secluded and offers two beaches, a fantastic swimming pool and exceptional lush vegetation and views. The rooms are spacious and the beds are huge and so comfortable. I was amazed by the breakfast buffet - the options were endless, and changing daily. Everything we had was so tasty. The spa is an absolute must-visit, it is a calm sanctuary and the massages are out of this world. Very good fitness facilities as well. The staff is exceptional, everyone is so attentive, and smiley, they make you feel right at home. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best resort in Boracay rather in the Philippines as well. The resort is so vast and you can do a lot of activities with the area like water sports, lounging in the pool, even billiards and basketball. Hospital staff are very friendly and accomodating. Food are great, high quality with wide variety of choices. The only negative experience i had was from my departure going back to the airport. I was left behind by the van considering i asked permission if i can still go to the restroom to freshen up but when i got out....they are gone 😱

We recently stayed at Shangri-La Boracay and while the resort's stunning location and breathtaking views were definite highlights, our overall experience was average to good with a few notable downsides.||A big shoutout to Abraham, the shuttle driver, whose warmth, knowledge, and spot-on recommendations for local eateries truly elevated our trip. He went above and beyond in guiding us through the island’s best spots — thank you, Abraham!||The property itself is beautiful, nestled in a more private and serene part of Boracay. The views from the rooms and common areas are postcard-worthy, and the beach is immaculate.||However, our experience was dampened (quite literally) by a leakage issue in the bathroom, which we did not expect at a resort of this caliber. Additionally, the presence of hidden charges and a hefty security deposit—which we were informed would only be credited back after 30 days instead of upon checkout—felt excessive and poorly communicated.||Another major letdown was the breakfast timing. At a beach resort, where guests often prefer to start their day leisurely, a 10 AM breakfast cutoff is far too early. Extending it till at least 11:30 AM would be much more guest-friendly.||In conclusion, while the stay was decent with beautiful surroundings and a few standout staff members, there's definitely room for improvement in transparency, maintenance, and guest convenience.

Always the best experience every time we vacation here. Excellent service, facilities, and tons of complimentary activities that you wouldn’t want to venture out to White Beach. The food is consistently good too. Yes, it is pricier if not the priciest compared to other resorts on the island, but if you value privacy, VIP service, and complete RnR (aka, away from the noise and crowds of White Beach), then this is definitely worth the splurge.

One of the best resorts that we have visited. From the boat trip to the hotel, to check in, our stay and the departure this was a phenomenal stay.||Service at its best at the Shangri-La, nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Food in abundance and as a vegetarian I had no issues. ||We had a sea facing room which was immaculate with incredible views.||The spa facilities is one of the best I have experienced. The hotel grounds are huge and really well looked after.

Excelent resort. The resort is offering breathtaking views, pristine private beaches, and an atmosphere of pure tranquility. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our villa was luxurious, spacious, and impeccably cleanThe food was exceptional across all the restaurants. We particularly loved the seafood at the Sirena Restaurant. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve experienced, with a wide variety of international and local options. Shangri-La Boracay is the perfect destination for a relaxing escape.

Yelp
If you want to experience Boracay at its finest, stay here! From the place, to the hospitality and the kindness of the employees, excellent food, very quiet so we were really to relax and enjoy the beach. From the time you get to the airport or the port they took care of us. The nurse on site was really nice and took care of my husband. They set up an anniversary surprise for us which we really enjoyed. Hopefully, we are able to come back for our 10th year wedding anniversary.

Yelp
Beautiful resort. From the pick up at the airport, to the dock, onto the boat, to the hotel. What a first class experience. Went there for a wedding and everything was pretty much perfect. The wedding got rain upon, but the staff adapt pretty quickly and the venue was in door within the hour and proceeded without a hiccup. I won't post pictures because honestly it won't do it justice. For sure you are paying a premium for this resort but you won't have to worry about a thing. Ok. So typically I post a separate review for the restaurant but I am lazy right now. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and gorgeous. I just felt some of the food was bland. This is something I wrestled with writing here. I had been drinking on the nights before so I was not 100%. Still a good meal to last the whole day. If you can afford it and you have the time, this is the resort you want ti stay at.

Yelp
This was my third time staying at the Shangri-La Boracay and it did not disappoint. Everything about the experience was great and I could not have asked for anything better. From the moment of arrival at the airport, we were taken care of by all staff. We happened to catch the tail-end of a harsh storm and there were severe delays with the flight and access to the boat to take us to the island - all attendants did everything to try to make the situation as comfortable as possible, even if it was not their fault. Once we were at the resort, the staff were so friendly and warm and it felt genuine. Whether with cleaning persons, kitchen staff or health club attendants, everyone was so nice and willing to help with anything. The fact that they have their own secluded beach also makes a difference. While it's fine to visit the main area of Boracay, it's nice to end the day on a quiet, relaxing area of the island with no disturbances and a sense of ease. Besides the amazing service, the food (especially the food at Vintana, which includes their breakfast buffet), was awesome. An incredible selection of mostly Filipino food, this was a great way to start the day. All items were fresh and tasty - breads, pastries, cheeses, cooked meats, sushi, authentic jams, fresh juices and smoothies, flavorful ice cream - everything was fantastic. It was always a challenge to try to moderate my meal since everything was so good and I didn't want to miss out on a delicious food item. If you're looking for an awesome experience and you want to have incredible food, definitely stay at this amazing resort!

Yelp
This is my first stay at a Shangri-La, and I was more than impressed. I did not book directly on their site, which in retrospect, I should have, but that didn't make our stay any worse. It was just that I was concerned about transportation between Caticlan and Boracay, but their customer service was top notch the entire time! My brother and his family had stayed here years ago and highly recommended "The Shang". Admittedly, I was a bit worried since it was literally close to nothing, but they provide a free shuttle to Station 2 (first come, first serve), if you want to get out of paradise. When you arrive at the port, The Shang has it's own private lounge and boat to take you to and from Caticlan - it literally felt first class from this moment on, the only thing missing was the fireworks and the red carpet! When you arrive, they have muscians greeting you and they whisk you away to your room in a buggie to check you in. Our room had a Sea View - with a huge balcony, it was very relaxing to listen to the waves in the evening. The resort is huge!!! 2 private beaches, pools, fantastic restaurants, activities all day!!! We missed the bats at dusk, though - I guess we'll need to visit again to see them. The pools and the beaches were uber relaxing, I could just lay there all day - and I totally did. Our package included the breakfast buffet, which was phenomenal - a donut wall, bread section, noodle section, a ton of options!!! We also enjoyed a few of the resorts restaurant, our favorite was Sirena - sunset is a must here. I highly recommend a visit to Shangri-La Boracay!

Yelp
AMAZING resort. From entry to the beach front, it is gorgeous. The only down fall? Getting there. Lots of traffic to get through before you reach your destination. However, it's worth staying at if you don't mind staying at the resort for most of your stay. It is quite far from the main happenings of the island. They are currently working on paving the roads so this is a majority of why there was traffic. BUT don't let that stop you from staying at this beautiful place. Their customer service is superb. Beautiful architecture. The pool area is so awesome I'd find myself there every day. There's a large pool bar and they have live entertainment. Our favorite parts of the resort are the buffet and the entertainment area which has- mancala, pool tables, computers, a bar, and karaoke rooms. This hotel has it all including a children's day camp area and a spa/ salon! You'll find all that you need here to have a wonderful vacation on a beautiful island. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I expected nothing but the best and as always Shangri-La delivered. I have known their resort back in Cebu for their impeccable customer service and they did not fall short here in Boracay. I am so happy we picked this place instead of the beach stations. Although i do enjoy people watching sometimes, perhaps my age is catching up on me and I now prefer the peace and quiet this tropical paradise offers. From airport pick-up to arrival, everything was hassle- and stress-free. Staff attends to your needs politely and as promptly as possible. They do not even dilly dally and wait around for tips. You can tell they definitely want to make their customers happy and satisfaction is their goal. The resort is clean, well-maintained and beautiful with its landscaping and overall decor. Like a mix of modern and tropical. The moment you step into their lobby, you can absolutely say "now this is what i call a vacation!". The ambiance becons you in itself. They offer 7 different restaurants to fit your appetite, your mood and your style. Both pools and beaches are gorgeous! I could swim in them all day but i'd be fried from the heat lol I love that this resort is private and have their own beach front too. My review will do no justice from the exceptional experience I always get to have while staying at a Shangri-La resort but the Shangri-La here in Boracay is a whole new level! Definitely one of the best resorts in the Philippines!

Yelp
1. You will feel like a James Bond villain. Met by beautiful girls on the wait staff at a private dock that your boar is moored to. 2. The design of the resort support the Bond theme with many infinity pools, floating stone paths, and clean aesthetics. 3. The breakfast buffet is remarkable. Try it out, they have your cravings covered. Shangri-La - very aptly named. If you don't know - look it up. This one's not in Tibet, but it has a nice chunk of beach on Boracay and it's very well kept.

Yelp
I am here in Boracay Philippines staying at infamous Shangri-La that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stayed on one famous trip many years ago and it is as they said quite an amazing experience with views today for in-service that's really unbeatable!! We are by the beach and the food was great. The only issue I had which prevented me from giving the complete five stars was the bed was HaRD!!!!??? After spending so much in the grounds you would think they would provide comfortable beds ... well maybe it's good for my back so I'll just let it go but I do enjoy comfortable beds.. other than that it's quite amazing and I hope you all get to come here one day

Yelp
Stayed here for a wedding and had a great time. Although the Philippines is cheap, this place had prices of an expensive US city and it is not an inclusive resort. Staff was super friendly and the food was better then other resorts ive stayed at, probably because you have to pay for it, except for breakfast which was free and also really good. Breakfast was a buffet that had all sorts of food from American, to Filipino, to Japanese. While the breakfast foods and pastries were all amazing I was most impressed by the juice bar. They had all sorts of freshly squeezed fruit juices and cleansing shots and you could ask for any smoothly or juice combination and it would be brought to your table. Food by the pool was also great, the pizza was surprisingly good, could have used a little a longer in the oven but still good. Pork belly was amazing and pretty cheap and listed as a snack some how but it seems like a full meal. Fries were on point. No complaints.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best top of the line resorts on Boracay island. Even with a confirmed reservation, we were subjected to pass to two security check points and reservation confirmation for our Valentine dinner at one of their buffet restaurants outlet-Vintana. Once cleared, a hotel shuttle bus took us to the main reception area, where we lounged and drank wine for a while before dinner. The resort is situated on the hilly side of the island over looking the Boracay marina. The hotel buildings are scattered all over the area. One can wander around from one hotel to another, hence, the tight security. I love the classic vibe and some touch of sophistication of this hotel. It's a great place to come over for a special occasion dinner, the Soltana bar is a place to watch the sunset and great precursor to dinner. I will definitely come back to dine or even stay in this resort in the future.

Yelp
Everyone here is so friendly and polite! They really try their best to make you feel pampered. Just FYI though - mostly everything is really expensive at the resort. The spa is $$$! If you want a nice massage, I recommend going to D-Mall and finding a local spot there (much cheaper!!) The food is just decent (not amazing) so I also recommend exploring other restaurants near D-Mall as aell.

Yelp
The Shangrila is an institurion by their own reputation. Yet my personal view of the Crimson Resort located in station zero as well outshines the Shangrila both related to service and culinary quality. Sorry guys, yet I implore you guys to step your game up, consistent with the Shangrila brand. Willing to give this another review in the near future. Till then.....

Yelp
What an incredible experience. We are so glad we stayed here for our honeymoon. You really get what you pay for with the attentive service and amenities. Checked in on a Sunday and they allowed us early check in. Was greeted by a shuttle at the tiny Boracay airport and whisked away to a boat that ferried us to the resort. They allowed us to check in early (at a cost) and our room was stunning - sea view deluxe with ocean views and a warm bubble bath and glass of wine. We were even able to have our laundry done. Food options were diverse and delicious - definitely cater to the Asian palate but there were western choices as well. The best part of dining was the included breakfast buffet that had literally anything you could ever possibly want for breakfast. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to our friends and family.

Yelp
I got to stay at the Shangri-La Boracay location as my first experience in a high caliber resort! And man, was it an experience. Having never stayed in a place like this, their attention to detail and their guests was impeccable. For someone who has never splurged on something like this, I could write about their customer service and commitment to excellence all day. When you arrive in the Boracay airport, the staff greet you in the airport and help you log your arrival with the tourism desk. From there you are whisked away to their own private lounge where they meet you with a cool cloth to wipe your face/hands with and a cold glass of fruit infused water. After their expected guests arrive they drive you in their personal boat to the private dock of the resort, where a golf cart will drive you up to the front desk. There you're greeted by courteous staff who handle your registration process. I don't want to spoil the whole experience, but from the time you arrive you are made to be quite comfortable (unless you're like me and experiencing this for the first time, so you may be a little thrown off). Your room will be luxuriously comfortable, with a top notch bathroom and high speed wifi throughout the resort; the best internet I had during my entire 2 week trip! The rooms are so comfortable you almost want to spend your whole trip there. The resort is about 20 minutes from the main Boracay city so it's definitely secluded and quite comfortable. As for the location itself, it's a tropical island paradise. The resort has two private beaches, an infinity pool, and so much more! You definitely are not wanting at this location unless you want the authentic Boracay experience. I would HIGHLY recommend taking part in their massage spa! It's an experience like no other I've had and the staff are quite skilled and professional. Definitely worth every penny! Their food was pretty good in my opinion too! Somewhat expensive for a meal in the Philippines but almost on par with costs that an American would expect in a typical setting. I loved the Brazilian burger I had and their chicken/pork adobo pizza! As well as the drinks I had with it. Delicious. All in all I had an amazing time and I hope I will someday be able to experience it again!

Yelp
When you first get off the boat, the greeters say "Welcome to paradise"...and they are absolutely correct. Shangri-la is beautiful! The private white sand beaches are amazing and very relaxing. We initially had trouble with our reservation but management was very helpful and even upgraded our room to an ocean view for our trouble. We were only at the resort for three nights, so unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try any of the daily activities because we had other plans in Boracay. We did however get a chance to try all the restaurants and they were all delicious. Everything I ordered was beyond words and the breakfast buffet was the best I've ever had at a resort or any other restaurant. I would definitely suggest you put this on your list of places to visit.

Yelp
Nights in white satin, Never reaching the end, Letters I've written, Never meaning to send. Beauty I'd always missed With these eyes before ... ...until I came to Barangay Yapak. It is a truly gorgeous location and if you love open water swimming and talcum fine sand from Parrot Fish blowback then this is where you come. You will sleep as the proverbial log in their super comfy beds. Dining is expensive and, unusually for the Shangri La, quality is average, at best. Transport to the Island is hit and miss but it's a local service, you cannot blame the Hotel for that but I was disappointed that there was no Sisiq to go with my beers at the bar :( In comparison to other Shangri La hotels around the planet Barangay has spectacular scenery but that will depend on your room allocation. Take a look at the resort layout and be specific about what you want. Prior to my first sojourn to this mini paradise I was tipped off by the Blu Bar staff in Singapore about where the best views were and they did me proud. This is a chill venue of the highest order and if you can't cool your jets here then get your wheels off the runway .... #smoothasshit

Yelp
Excellent staff , paradise on earth , they really try to make your stay as comfortable as they can & you want . The rooms are really trendy & excellent. The breakfast is something marvelous, with all kind of cuisine from all around the world . I was upgraded to a better suite , they really try to keep the good effort . Sure will come here again.

Yelp
Very lucky to be invited and to indulge myself in such a paradise. The view is magnificent. At the moment of life, I enjoy rather intimate contact with people around than crazy crowd. Shangri La provides is such a luxury option to spend a weekend here in Boracay. It's not our first time in Boracay and we definitely have tried different accommodations around the area but believe me, if budget is not a concern, it's worthwhile to stay here at least for one night. All the transportations are planned and ready for you. Only thing you need to do is "do nothing", great isn't it? Wish to come back with besties soon again! Pho

Yelp
We stayed at Shangri-La Boracay resort on August 29 to 31, 2016 wherein I proceeded to be inundated with bites all over my body especially on my lower right arm as you can see from the picture. I did not think too much of it the first night but on the 2nd night, more appeared so I decided to inspect the mattress and the bed frame underneath. I found numerous black specks on the mattress and on the side with some blood spots which means fecal matter of the bed bugs plus on the bed frame were more blood spots all around the edges/corner of the bed. It looked really disgusting and unclean. I was very horrified and disappointed that a supposedly fancy expensive resort has this kind of room for their guests. I then complained to the duty Manager Alexander Yamat who only sent his housekeeper to inspect it. They only sprayed the room and did not do anything else. I insisted to have our clothes washed and be moved to another room which they did. I asked for a refund but they will not provide it to me. I am definitely one unhappy and unsatisfied guest. They keep blaming sand flies for the reason of my bites but I did not do any sunbathing. I just hope that I did not bring any of the bugs home with me. Needless to say, I won't be staying at any Shangri-La hotel based on this experience.

Yelp
It was a joy being there and my family loved every minute. The sea view from our suite was magnificent and picture perfect. We hope to be back in Boracay soon.

Yelp
Had an amazing stay here with my family and the in laws. Hotel is top notch, decor is on point, service is impeccable (including little buggy's at your beck and call to transport you anywhere on the resort), views were incredibly beautiful overlooking two of what seemed like private beaches, free buffet in the morning featured a wonderful rotating feast of all that you could ask for, spa was beautiful and massages were great (including pool side with the relaxing of waves from the beach in your ears. You will not be disappointed if you choose the Shangri-La while you are in Boracay.

Yelp
Beautiful Resort, excellent staff, good food. You get what you paid for. Highly recommended

Yelp
Just checked in here 4 days ago. Spent 4 days & 3 nights. If you want to experience paradise in Boracay this is the place for you. I highly recommend this specially if you are travelling with children. The food is good and the price is reasonable. The staff are courteous and pleasant. The place is very clean. They clean your room 2x a day. When you are going to swim at the beach you don't have to worry with your bags and personal stuff coz it's entirely safe to leave them on the lounge chairs. The resort is very private and the beach is secluded. I had the best massage at the Chi Spa. You have your own individual Balinese type small cottage with full shower & bath. The service is exemplary! Every penny spent is all worth it. The resort has their own doctor and 5 nurses 24/7. Indeed this is the best resort in Boracay and one of the best in the Philippines!

Yelp
love their warm hospitality and elegance..the staff is very helpfule to our needs..we really felt their hashtag #myshangri-laboracay ...from picking us up from the airport, rooms, resort, shuttle and dropping us back to the airport..we would definitely comeback to this resort..
