Attended my son's wedding at Shangri-La. The view from the room was beautiful. Old 2V CLI and Military Hospital Buildings gave the former Lower Lake road (Baladaksha Mawatha) memories. Lower Lake Road had been shifted near to the Beira Lake. Old 2V CLI, Or's Mess, Quarters and WO's and Sgt's mess had been demolished for the road. There were three functions at the assigned location of the wedding but the noise and crowd were well controlled. One typo error was noticed. Food was excellent and the staff were well versed with the wedding crowd. Tables were well prepared and frequently supervised. Washrooms were clean and frequently attended by the staff, even noticed a senior manager visiting and observing the condition of wash washrooms. When there was an issue with a washbasin in the room complaint was smoothly handled, and the maintenance person attended to it very quickly. Air quality was well maintained. Staff were courteous and well-trained. They showed what a Star Class means by their actions.

We recently stayed at Shangri La to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special. The staff went above and beyond, especially during breakfast where I was surprised with a beautifully presented birthday treat and warm wishes from the team. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made my day feel extra special. What also stood out was the flexibility and kindness of the front desk staff – they graciously allowed a late checkout, which gave us time to relax and enjoy the last moments of our stay without feeling rushed. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. It’s clear the team genuinely cares about making guests feel welcome and appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that adds those personal touches that make all the difference.

I want to give a big shoutout to Mr Imesh ,Pasan and Bhumika our servers. They were phenomenal, providing personalized food recommendations and checking in at just the right moments. They were so attentive, ensuring our coffee cups always full, and were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the buffet. Their exceptional service made our morning special and was a highlight of our visit. We would highly recommend dining here and requesting them. Specially chef Amith too. Excellent customer service I 'd want to thank Mr.Aslam and Mr.Akalanka for going above and beyond to ensure that our breakfast experience was exceptional. Their sincere welcome and excellent service made all the difference. Our server "Aslam and Akalanka"was just fantastic. I must say this too... The Dosa meal was a revelation! Perfectly balanced flavors and cooked to perfection, Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, and The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making it a truly memorable experience. Excellent hotel. Ask for a king ocean view. Well appointed room, clean and good facilities. Gym is spacious and has most things you need. On site spa and pool. Overall an amazing spread for dinner and breakfast. Nice cocktail bar. Excellent service all round. Very comfy pillows and bed!

Excellent place to stay and fine. Rooms are large and very well-appointed with all necessities. Check-in does take time, but the staff is very helpful. Opt for the MAP package. Both Breakfast and Dinner had a lot choices of cuisines and the buffet was well planned and extensive. Food was excellent. The Hotel is attached to a reasonably sized Mall with a lot of International labels and domestic top retailers. The Mall has direct access from the Hotel. Right in front of the Hotel is a strip beach that you can walk around, though no swimming was allowed.

Went for the Sunday Brunch at Shangri-La Colombo, and it was superb! The spread was wide with Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, and Sri Lankan cuisine. The seafood range was delicious and incredibly fresh. The ambiance was calm and comforting, and the music was soothing. this is perfect for a family gathering or even a couple's hangout, worth the money!! I loved the little surprise arranged for me (yup, the staff was supportive like that). A big thank you to "Thusitha" for the hospitality, recommendations, and making necessary arrangements. You were great !! Absolutely loved the dessert spread and the chocolate fountain. However, my personal favorite was the Woodapple sorbet, with a perfect texture and tanginess, thanks a bunch for the recommendation @Shenal!
