Shangri-La The Fort, Manila (Manila, Metro Manila) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The upscale district of Bonifacio Global City has a humble past: it was built on the former military base of Fort Bonifacio. It’s now home to Shangri-La The Fort, the name a reference to the neighborhood’s origins — and it’s not only one of the most luxurious hotels in Manila, but in all the Philippines. The sustainably constructed, LEED-certified tower features a range of high-end restaurants, bars, and shops, a sprawling spa and wellness center with basketball and tennis courts, and elegant indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzis. Rooms are contemporary and sophisticated, with neutral-hued decor, spacious marble bathrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city, while larger suites are more opulent in style, with bold large-format artwork and modern chandeliers." - Tablet Hotels

Impressive hotel with exceptionally diligent staff, clean and upscale rooms, and lots of nearby restaurants and attractions. The rooms themselves are very well kept and upscale, showing only barely noticeable signs of age/wear. The services, ranging from room service, to in-room dining, checkin/checkout, and special requests (extra water) are extremely prompt and high-quality. The amenities, including the gym and pool are absolutely mind-blowing - the nicest I've seen in any hotel - though I am remiss the outdoor hot tub was not functional. Every question and request I had was answered promptly, which came in handy as I unfortunately fell ill halfway through my stay, and needed a constant supply of water, which the staff handled with kindness and grace. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

My recent stay at Shangri-La The Fort in BGC was nothing short of outstanding, living up to the brand’s reputation for luxurious hospitality in one of Manila’s most vibrant districts. The experience began right from my early morning arrival at NAIA. I had arranged the hotel’s pickup service, and the hotel rep & driver greeted me with genuine enthusiasm despite the hour—warm smiles, assistance with luggage, and a smooth ride into the city. It set a welcoming tone from the start. A dedicated staff member met me at the entrance and personally escorted me straight to my room, bypassing the front desk reception entirely for a seamless, VIP-like check-in. This thoughtful touch was especially appreciated after a long flight. The room itself was spacious, elegantly appointed with modern accents, and offered breathtaking panoramic views. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the glittering BGC skyline and, on clearer days, distant mountain ranges—a stunning backdrop that made relaxing in the room a highlight. I ordered room service and opted for The Fort Silog featuring garlic fried rice, beef tapa, pork tocino, salted egg, and tomato. It arrived promptly, hot, and deliciously prepared, hitting the spot perfectly. Overall, every interaction with the staff exuded warmth and professionalism, the facilities were impeccable, and the central BGC location couldn’t be better. Shangri-La The Fort delivered a truly 5-star stay—highly recommended for anyone seeking luxury and genuine hospitality in Manila. I’ll definitely return!

If you’re looking for the perfect oasis in the middle of bustling and cosmopolitan Manila, look no further. The Shangri-La will make you believe you have found the mystical place only described in fiction. Welcome hosts / hostesses greet you with a hand on their heart and a smile on their faces. The front desk will do whatever they can to accommodate your needs, and boy did they deliver with a beautiful corner room through the Chase Sapphire Reserve Edit portal. I especially enjoyed a glass of wine while in its beautiful bathtub and the kind size bed with views of the Pearl of the Orient. The range of options for the breakfast buffet at the High Street Cafe will leave you satiated for the entire day. Well except for a cheeky pisco sour and snacks at Samba by the inviting pool. You’ll quickly forget that you’re in the heart of metro Manila. The gym is massive, clean, and well equipped. I can’t rave enough about this hotel. You’ll be glad you spent the extra to pamper yourself here.

The hotel is beautiful—clean, spacious, and truly luxurious. We booked a connecting room, which was perfect for our family; the kids had their own room and bathroom, and it made our stay so much more comfortable. The staff and service were outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The only small downside was that there were no trash bags in the trash cans, which felt a bit unusual to me. Otherwise we loved our stay at Shangri-La and would definitely recommend it to our family and friends!

I recently stayed at Shangri-La The Fort Manila from December 29 to 30, and it was truly the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. VIP treatment and access to the exclusive lounge’s helped too. The hotel’s atmosphere is absolutely stunning. The interiors exude luxury and warmth, creating a relaxing environment that made me feel right at home. Every corner of the property is meticulously maintained, and the attention to detail in both design and service is remarkable. I felt completely taken care of throughout my stay, from check-in to check-out. The level of hospitality was unmatched, and every small gesture added to the experience. Because of the outstanding service and the hotel’s overall ambiance, I happily give Shangri-La The Fort Manila a full 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Manila.

Google
What an excellent hotel! We stay in all sorts of 5-stars, and I have to say that our Premier Suite at Shangri-la at the Fort was as good or better than many Four Seasons properties, as was the service. Philippinos are so good at service, and we immediately felt like we were on a luxury cruise with the amazingly warm personalities all around. The location is also great, right by the 'High Street' for great shopping.

Google
Stayed here several times in a span of 1 week, and I could note that the F&B service are indeed top notch for the MICE concept . Lobby is already Yuletide themed this early. Service staff seem very much well trained from top to bottom. Room amenities still make a sparkle. Location near malls, convenience stores and restaurants make it near ideal for everything. So is the fast speed free Wi-Fi and the elaborate fitness center. Breakfast choices are still bountiful and tasty. Every year I had been making a review of this hotel .

I stayed here for Christmas, me and my partner. I can’t comment anything bad about the rooms because everything was perfect. But when it comes to the lack of organisation of the staff… We had breakfast on Christmas day, we’ve been assigned to a table and told to get our food so they can get it ready. That’s what we did but someone’a jacket was on the chair already, so we asked what’s going on and a lady told us to wait while she check it. We decided to ask someone else since we were standing with our food pretty embarrassed, so we get the same response as the first one. We are asking for the 3rd time and we’ve been assigned to another table. I kept saying that it shouldn’t be a big deal, but it actually is, our Christmas breakfast wasn’t good because of that. We truly lost our appetite. When we checked out, we’ve been asked how the Christmas breakfast went and so we told the story. The lady who checked us out looked really annoyed and seemed to not care which is weird since she asked us in the first place. Didn’t seem really professional. I just want to mention that we stayed here before once and we have booked 2 other stays next month. Hopefully this will not happen again.

Yelp
Best hotel for a reason. From the airport transport to and from the property to the excellent customer service to the many amenities to the comfortable beds, it's easy to choose Shangri-La for your stay in Metro Manila. I've stayed twice now, and a stay anywhere else makes me miss being here. The holiday decor is grand and exquisite. They have incredible ballrooms to host galas, conventions, even witnessed a masquerade. Around the property you can find many things to do with a spa, pool, tennis court, 2-floor gym with a full on basketball court, multiple restaurants, coffee shops, an art gallery, you name it. In the heart of BGC, there are many places around where you can shop and explore! It's a very safe place because every entrance has full security Hospitality is consistently excellent. I'm well taken care of here. Turn down service is done beautifully. The bathroom is equipped with L'Occitane toiletries. If given access, the lounge is elite!!!! Breakfast there is THE BEST at the 40th floor. All the beautiful city views?! They also have a happy hour in the evening with light snacks. So most of those meals were all included in the stay. We got laundry done here, concierge is easy to communicate with and contact, everyone is dressed to the 9s, it just doesn't get any better than this. And there's a hidden speakeasy I'll make a review on that place too lol. I highly recommend a stay here, booking a Philippine Hilot massage, and trying the Korean Breakfast Toast in the top floor lounge. You'll feel like royalty

Yelp
The rooms are not up to standards of the prices you will pay. Rug is super dirty Some Employees especially the young ones gossiping to much about customers.

Yelp
Amazing experience at shangrila BGC. Upgrading to horizon club access rooms did not disappoint. Lhex was very friendly and attentive with his welcome smile at breakfast starting my day off right. Kerry sports, the 2-story gym guests had access to had more than enough free weights as well as exercise machines for the health-minded guests. Breakfast at the second floor n had more choices with attentive servers Jimsil and Hanna making sure I was well supplied with my favorite pomelo. Evenings began with cocktails from 5-7pm at the lounge on the 40th floor where I got my g&ts made by GB and served by the ever attentive Harold. A relaxing and pampered stay at Shangrila the Fort that I hope to repeat the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Shangri-(Ooh La) La .... It was an absolute pleasure to be able to stay at this beautiful, top-tier service hotel in the heart of BGC. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. They took excellent care of me and made me feel so important that most of them remembered my name, were always eager to assist me with any questions, and the room was always clean and well-maintained. There was nothing I could have thought of that they hadn't already thought of. Another amazing feature was their gym. Good lord, talk about getting your workouts in at a cutting-edge facility. I was blown away by the equipment, cleanliness, and amenities available to me during my stay. In addition to the gym, the breakfast buffet is a must. It was one of the best breakfast buffets I'd ever experienced. Thank you Shangri-La for the most memorable stay; I will return and stay here whenever I return to Manila.

Yelp
Chicken wrap isn't good and delicious as chefs choice , giving as normal wrap taste, other bakery selection are well , services are also decent

Yelp
No star for this hotel. The worst hotel ever. They make it so hard to exit with equipment. The process of securing forms and getting signature is so complicated. It got us 2 hours to get everything done. There's surely a better way for the hotel to treat suppliers.

Yelp
The amount of beauty and effort that goes into this hotel is impressive. The staff are plentiful, extremely attentive, and engaged. I enjoyed being greeted at the door and the entrance of every location in the hotel. The staff were kind and varied, but always professional in appearance and demeanor. The hotel was very safety minded and there were metal detectors and security staff. The executive floor wasn't different from the normal floors but I very much enjoyed the lounge for breakfast and cocktails.

Yelp
My week at the Shangri-La The Fort hotel was a five star experience. Thanks to AMEX and the Fine Hotels and Resorts program, my stay was even more enjoyable. Not only did that avail me guaranteed early check-in (noon), late check-out (4pm) and a complimentary room upgrade - but it also included $100 in resort credit, which I used for room service and food. Room service offered some a few food and beverage options from the hotel's restaurants, but you really needed to go to those restaurants to experience the ambiance and full menu of dishes/flavors. I will review the other restaurants separately. Health and safety seemed to be a top priority for the hotel. Upon arrival and throughout the stay, all guests must enter through metal detectors and have their bags scanned/inspected. All staff are wearing masks, and vaccination status is verified when you check-in. Most of the guests were wearing masks in the common areas, except when eating or drinking. The room I was assigned had high-rise views of High Street. Housekeeping did an excellent job at cleaning and maintaining the room. I never had to ask for a new set of towels or other toiletries, as the room was cleaned the same time everyday around 10am. All the staff were very friendly, and always greeted me as I walked throughout the hotel; even if you didn't have any questions. My only wish was that the spa wasn't yet available when I stayed in early July 2022. This might've been largely due to the pandemic, and a slow reopening. Either way, I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
TOP-NOTCH the only word that comes in my mind, is that I've been in different locations, but this is my second time here at the Fort. Love the place, love food, love the services. Kudos to the crew that works at the breakfast cafe! Keep up the good work. Hope to stay here again on my next vacation.

Yelp
I can never say enough how Shangri- La at the Fort made our holiday vacation one memorable stay, from the day we checked in to the day we checked out! This hotel has 3 parts. It has a Hotel, the Residences and the Horizon Homes (permanent residents). This review is concentrated based on our stay at the Residences. The Residences has a full blown kitchen, 2 full baths and 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king size bed with a walk in closet! It has a beautiful bathroom with a spa like ambiance with a standard shower head as well as an overhead shower. It has a deep tub where you can destress from your busy day. It has dual, his and hers, vanity sinks. There's no additional television in the bathroom but you have an option to listen to the television while in the master bathroom. The second bedroom has 2 double beds perfect for additional family members. It has an open floor plan in the kitchen and dining area which is perfect for entertaining guests! It was the perfect setting with an excellent view in the heart of Bonifacio Global City (BGC)! The smart TV has adequate selections of networks from different parts of the world which accommodates their guests. There are some channels that were premium HD. The wifi signal was excellent! Added bonus is NO annoying log in screen! You select the Shangri-La network and boom! You're connected! The kitchen was absolutely divine! It has a Nespresso machine, pots, plates (bone China), utensils and lots of complimentary water bottle! The appliances were Electrolux with ceramic stove top and an awesome size oven! The entire unit had lots of drawers and storage. It also came with separate washer and dryer! It's definitely home away from home! Shangri-La is one of the best hotels in all of Asia! Our experienced here is outstanding with world class customer service and top notch amenities no doubt! Their 6th floor is home to the largest indoor gym in the Philippines - Kerry Sports! Beautiful spa and pools, indoor squash court, yoga, spin class, outside tennis court and the list goes on and on! Around Shang's complex there are prestigious shops and restaurants. Their High Street Cafe serves an excellent buffet! The breakfast buffet is included depending on the room rate. When you step out of Shangri-La, there are unlimited options for dining and shopping, as High Street is just a stone's throw away! There's no doubt Shangri-La at the Fort is the best hotel we have ever stayed with acceptable rates to fit our needs. The most unforgettable experience at Shangri-La is no doubt their highly trained staff, who focused on making our stay a pleasurable one! That's one of the reasons why we came back to stay with Shangri-La. Hopefully in the near future, it's a longer stay with family and friends to help us celebrate in tying the knot! This location is absolutely on top of my list!

Yelp
It's not as impressive and grand like their other hotels. Hotel stench is terrible and disgusting. Sewer smell!!!

Yelp
If I were to describe this hotel in one word, the word would be luxurious. I flew out on a business trip to Manila earlier this week and booked a 3 night 4 day stay at this hotel, Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila. The price paid for the entire stay: $203 per day. This particular hotel is the newest amongst the three Shangri-La's in Manila, built in 2016. On each entry into the hotel, you are greeted by security and the overpowering smell of L'occitane (yes L'occitane) products -- the more exposed I was to the smell each time I exited and entered the hotel, the more nauseated I became, eager to get outdoors. Contrary to that was the pleasantries: From security, concierge, bell, room service, etc., courtesy was at the top of their books. I booked the Deluxe room with the High street view. The room was modern and beautiful and came with L'occitane products (perhaps the main reason why the entire hotel reeked of that smell). Black out window curtains helped me sleep during the daylight hours since I worked at night. Checking out of the facility took a long while as the staff had to do multiple verifications in the room I vacated although I am not certain as to why, I answered all their check-out questions honestly (lack of trust maybe)? Lol. If you are someone with high sensitivity to overpowering fragrances, put something in your stomach first or wear a mask upon entry/exit. Aside from the smell of the hotel and the lengthy check-out process, I will likely be coming back. You live in Luxury the entire time you are here, now who doesnt like that?

Yelp
WARNING: DO NOT STAY AT THE SHANGRI-LA AT THE FORT March 19, 2019 -- $400 USD worth of valuables were taken from our hotel room at the Shangri-La at the Fort by housekeeping. From the time we reported our lost items to the Duty Manager & Director of Security at Shangri-La, not once did we receive a formal apology or resolution. Instead, the staff at Shangri-La has been trying to prove us wrong. They went as far as accusing my two best friends of lying and stealing my iPhone, AirPods & clothes. I've stayed at over 50+ hotels and resorts ranging from 2-5 stars and 4 diamond properties, and this is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. As much as I loved the facilities and design of the hotel, I will not be staying at the Shangri-La in the future. To my travel friends & family, BE AWARE! I don't ever want you guys to experience this. ‍
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Really top notch as all Shangri-La's are in Asia. The gym though is off the hook. Possibly the best gym i've ever worked out in. All weights, cross-fit, boxing, full court basketball and a beautiful, modern, bright facility. Only downside is two days in a row I was sleeping with do not disturb light on the room and the hotel staff called to check on me and woke me up.

Yelp
Luxury in the heart of Makati!!! I looooooove the Shangri-LA I can't even begin to explain how exceptional the service is here! They treat you like ROYALTY. I love every person that works here. I came and stayed here for a week with a friend for some birthday adventures in the city of Makati. This being our hub was perfect. We were walking distance to some of the most grandest malls ( GREEN BELT) and near some pretty EPIC nightlife. The hotel itself is just grand!!! Our room was EPIC and with a beautiful view. The all you can eat BUFFET was delicious! I would def. recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Makati in luxury :)

Yelp
Upscale, clean, cozy, and all praises for our overnight stay in Shangri-la Fort. We booked the city view room with King Bed for 13,000++ through Agoda. It was a sizeable room with a lounge area next to the window. The powder room is just as big. We opt to dine out and there are many food choices nearby. There's Pink's Hotdogs, Nikkei, and soon to open Shake Shack is just across the high street entrance. What I love about this hotel is the accessibility to everything--Restaurants, Malls, Grocery, and Hospital.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
The Shangri-La family of hotels is know for its luxury and stellar customer support. They are focused on the details that matter to travellers; especially business travellers. It is the only hotels I stay while in Asia and Europe. This location is especially note worth because of its easy access to shopping, donning and Kerry Sports. Kerry Sports is a massive high end fitness club with exceptional equipment and service. Hotel guests enjoy access for free and it's a highlight of my trips to BGC. Make this hotel your only choice.

Yelp
All i can say is wow whenever i come to the philippines i normally stay at the hyatt city of dreams and that place is no slouch, in fact that is my go to place if i ever come to the philippines for work or any other reason. However, we are staying here at the shangri-la on this trip because that is where our meetings are. I have to admit, this hotel is unreal, the area is very clean, it safe to walk around the streets, and it is actually very central to a lot of things, to include the airport. Plus the metro actually runs through the hotel on the eighth floor. So if you need to get around it may be easy to do. This place is off the charts nice, very attentive, and of course this place is pricey, but i can see why. Lots of foreigners from china, hong kong, singapore, "crazy rich asian" types (lol...) walking around. Very upscale hotel catering to the higher end traveler. Looking forward to staying here and trying some of the restaurants and some of the services the hotel has to offer, should be a nice trip

Yelp
One of the best modern and highly recommended hotels that cater both for business, and personal needs. My clients liked it, from the staff, to facilities, view and location. My mom liked the buffet selections at the cafe. I just didn't mention the price but for me it was worth it. Highly recommended. Great food. Awesome service.
google avatar

Lam N.

Yelp
One of three Shangri-La hotels in Metropolitan Manila. You already have a sense of Shang hospitality the minute you step into the airport car: it has WiFi! Opened just two years ago, the rooms, of course, offer not luxury, but modern comfort (including an entry-level Toto loo with incorporated cold-water douchette) and are thoughtfully designed, with well-located electrical outlets, light switches, etc. The gym, on two stories, is well-equipped, gigantic, and open to non-resident members, some of whom come with their bodyguards. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and includes Pinoy delicacies, but unfortunately no adobo or balut. Service staff, while extraordinarily friendly, can be quite blurred on occasions (especially the men). Overall, one of the better hotels in Metro Manila
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Shangri-La Fort is one of the best hotels that you can stay in BGC. They also offer a wide array of cafe and restaurants that you can enjoy dining in with your family and friends. You can choose from High Street Lounge and High Street Cafe where you can enjoy coffee and chitchat with your friends. For your lunch and dinner needs, you can choose from Canton Road, Raging Bull and soon to open Samba and Limitless. Shangri-La Fort is also a great place for your banquet celebrations or for your conferences.

Yelp
My experience here after staying twice (about 5 weeks in total) was initially mediocre. My local office is 2 blocks away and the hotel's location is very convenient for me. While watching them build this hotel over the years... all I hear about is how grand and Dubai-like this will be. Initially disappointed! ...BUT thank you Raymond Villanueva (Front Desk Manager) for saving the day. Ray took the time to understand my feedback and immediately addressed my concerns. Since then, my stay at the ShangriLa Fort elevated in experience. I appreciate the effort put in by each staff to make this hotel a truly world class home away from home. I can't wait to come back and experience the Horizon Lounge and other restaurants soon to be opened. ...fast forward 7 months later Room service - Ramon is definitely the man! I ran out of cigs and had him run out to get me cigs and he did! Thank you Ramon from In room dining. Kudos!!!!! Samba- best new restaurant in town! I can't stop coming back for the food and great service! Kudos to everyone who served me...wine, Dawn, Ryan, Chef Carlo and sorry for the others that I forgot. Your Pisco Sour was too good to be true. Best restaurant so far! Keep up the great work!!!!! Can't wait for the bar and pool to open. One suggestion.... play lounge music to make your Peruvian restaurant more eclectic! Hotel Costes? Supper club? Chainsmokers ? What's so not Gemini? (A good DJ would know what I mean...)... we know you are Peruvian... would've been another great surprise for guests to eat great Peruvian food with a twist! The Raging Bull - love Ryan from Pampanga and Mico Chua. Avoid Chloe! She's so rude... I asked for their Belgium beer selection and she rudely said Stella Artois! A beer that we were already about to order because it was listed. Hello???? Have you heard of the monks who make Chimay????? I've been to Belgium. Chloe... have you? Please don't ruin the SHANG's Fort struggling 8 star aspirations. Shang Lounge- met Angela who served us well. The manager Josephine was off so didn't get to see her. Too bad.... the lounge logistics is still not appropriately staff given the way it's set up. Centralized communication within staff whether electronic or manual need a lot of improvement. Be sure not to assume that if you told one hostess something ( like your drink order) that everyone else knows. And if you need something, just stand up and go to one of the inattentive hostesses for service. Horizon Lounge - Claudine was great, Melody was great. I forgot all other staff's name but consistently great. Downfall.... they focused too much on food, drinks and guest outfits! The horizon lounge falls short on actually being the Front desk replacement. I should be able to ask them anything and more that I would normally do at the front desk. Definitely not there yet. ... Overall - I've had problems at the Shang Fort at the past during their soft opening but after confiding with Ray Villanueva... all were immediately resolved. Thank you! Jonathan is great! I saw him everywhere and he made me feel at home! Great guy! John Rice... are you just an email copy? Funny... never met you. Ray V... thanks for being consistent helpful!!!!
google avatar

Alicia M.

Yelp
The staff at the club level lounge are great. Cons - they should not advertise places on the website if they aren't open yet. Beware of room 3920! It's right below club lounge and it sounds like horses in heels walking above you! Hotel does not have a shop where you can pick up little items you forgot. Pros - room are nice and roomy, but make sure you get what you reserved. Staff all around are helpful Steak house is a must!

Yelp
Great place, impressive facilities. Very expensive but it's worth it. Bathrooms are clean, automated, dressing rooms in room with mirror goals.

Yelp
Shangri-La Fort is a beautiful hotel with knowledgable and friendly staff. The location is great! I would highly recommend!

Jun S.

Yelp
Very poor customer service....Ill trained front reception staff....my wife lost her room key and was given a run around... check in time for us was more than half an hour, check in staff, don't know anything. Every question we ask he has to go to the back office .... from a four day stay, we left after the first night.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
For the money, not worth it. Very disappointing service to the point that when you come downstairs to the lobby at say 11:00 pm, every chair in the lobby area is taken by sitting security. I've never seen anything like it. In the pool area, good luck in flagging down any staff to take your pool order. Annoyingly, there is no cafe in the main lobby---only sit-in restaurants. Their claim of 5 star not true. Shangri-la in Makati is no doubt much better. This location is just a wanna-be!!

William P.

Yelp
Excellent Hotel and Staff! From Check-In to Check-Out everything was GREAT! The breakfast buffet is one of the best you will find in Global City! Will return!
