I’m very bias towards this resort! Have grown up in Fiji calling this island nation my home. However, this resort is my absolute favourite place on the island. Visiting my home country after 10+ years showing my British partner my home. I had to stay here and show him the best part of the paradise. Clear blue sky meeting crystal blue ocean. Snorkelling here is amazing, with climate change there’s a lot of wildlife loss but still much better. Highly recommend Adult wing if you want to enjoy a more romantic atmosphere and HAPPY HOUR EVERY DAY (it’s unlimited two types of house cocktail) with a canapé! There’s golf courses, horse riding, shopping and beautiful restaurants plus the cultural events. A beautiful beach and amazing people. It was my partners first trip to Fiji but we are already making this our choice of stress free resort.

I’ve been to Shangri-La Fiji a few times now, and honestly, the food situation hasn’t improved at all. The hygiene around the buffet and restaurants is worrying. You often see bugs and cockroaches around the food area, and the humidity makes it worse nothing’s properly chilled or covered. Sushi and salads sit out warm for ages, staff handle food without gloves, and birds fly in and land near the food. It’s pretty off-putting. I’ve had food poisoning here more than once over different stays, which says a lot. For a place charging these prices, it’s not good enough. The buffet is also repetitive and doesn’t really suit most tourists from NZ or Australia. It’s the same heavy, spicy dishes most nights, and the pizza is dry and barely has any toppings. This resort could be incredible if they fixed the food and lifted the hygiene standards. Management really needs to front up and give guests an update on what’s being done to sort this out because it’s been like this for years, and people are getting sick. The location is stunning, but the food is what ruins it every time.

We cannot express our gratitude enough towards all the staff at Shangri-La Fiji! Each and everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautifully clean and neat and left with a little surprise to make you smile after the daily clean. The location is just fabulous, incredible ocean views and palm trees. Each restaurant has it's own flare and very tasty food. We enjoyed the resort for 5 days for my father's 60th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make it special, including and cake and someone to sing Happy Birthday. We could not fault anything during our stay! We would return for another holiday at anytime!

Shangri-La resort was excellent for relaxation and recovery. Staff are all very welcoming and warm. There is no shortage of activities to do to fill up your days or relax by the pool/ocean. If you’re staying for a week there is plenty of variety of food and drink to try. Thanks Napoleon for the warm welcome everyday. Rooms are standard and what you would expect for a resort of this size, my only qualm is the lack of stations on the TV, we had 10 stations to choose from and only half were in English. Having a movie channel or a streaming service would have made this trip perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay in Fiji as a whole. The staff at the Shangri-La were all incredible. Always so friendly, welcoming & professional. Our only issue was that the rooms smelt & felt very damp, almost like a damp mould smell. It was difficult to deal with. We also feel some areas didnt quite reflect the resort feel we had expected from the photos. It would be an amazing place to go to with children & for families & had we had our kids with us, it would have been wonderful. But as a couples only getaway, it didnt have that 'resort-style' feel we were expecting. Again though, we cannot fault the staff. They were amazing.

Very dated hotel, although a nice location on the beach and still a decent family holiday. Though advertised as a 5 star resort, this is closer to 3.5 stars at best while charging 5 star prices. Food options nothing special with 1 or 2 decent restaurants but service at all resort restaurants is poor. Could wait over an hour for food even if the restaurant isn’t that busy. The whole place needs major improvements

We had a lovely family stay with pre-teen kids. They loved parasailing, the food (even fussy kids won’t have a problem) and the lovely happy staff. The hermit crabs, black crabs, frogs and bats, plus the amazing reef life, kept them entertained for hours (whenever they weren’t eating or in the pool!) Special shout out to the Marine Education Centre, tucked away in the far end of the resort. We had a great time ‘helping’ build fish houses and planting coral, and exploring the reef with Moses and Elia was a real treat!

We had a great time in Fiji at the Shanghai-La. The room was basic, however we spent very little time in there. We had an all-inclusive package for meals and drinks. The cocktails available on this package weren’t that great, were inconsistent and became very repetitive. The service at food and beverage venues could have been better. We had to ask for drinks 90% of the time as no one would come and check if we wanted more. Not sure if all-inclusive was the way to go due to this… We were a bit disappointed with the activities, including the water park which we only saw being used once in the entire stay. It was a bit of a tease for the children as it sat in view the whole time but wasn’t allowed to be used. The pool was great, and swimming in the ocean was lovely. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We would totally come back just due to how lovely everyone was!
