Shangri-La's Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives

I have never seen so many turtles and reef sharks in one location. At one point saw 15-20 leatherback turtles under the water villas itself. The best marine ecosystem and diversity onsite for snorkling without having to take an extra trip. Also love how big the island is. Water villa rooms are big compared to most other resorts with high ceilings. Bonus: you can actually see the stars. We spotted at least two constellations with the naked eye

One thing that was very annoying, the person who was responsible for tables on the beach refused to give us a table (foreigner) manger, i suppose The next restaurant was amazing I would like to thank all people except that woman 3 stars for that issue

This resort was amazing and fabulous. I hope it reopens soon. The diving sites nearby are amazing with lots of marine life and corals. The staff were beyond friendly. I would visit again if it reopens.

this is a truly beautiful island and property. we had a lovely holiday overall. Positives, all the staff are exceptional and cannot do enough for you. There was plenty of things to do, and excursions, but we felt a number of these we prohibitively expensive, to the point that you just wouldn't go on them, surely reduce the price and sell many more trips? we liked the ecological credentials and ethos of the hotel, but feel you should promote this much more, and the fact that the hotel is very remote. we felt that overall the hotel needs a refurbishment, and there was some villas where this was happening. we felt that the food, whether influenced by the Budhha Bar or not was generally good, but sometimes inconsistent. and we felt all food and drink generally had too much sugar added. overall, we very much enjoyed the island and holiday and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

This resort is paradise, there are no two-ways about it. My wife and I are here for our honeymoon and we have been treated like a King and Queen. All the staff go above and beyond to ensure we are happy and this seems to come very naturally to them. The staff are a credit to themselves and the management team. The food is incredible and some of the best cuisine I have ever tasted, and a great variety to choose from considering the size of the island. The kitchen staff are very experienced and seem to love what they do. The entire resort is immaculate and truely luxurious. If you want luxury, this place is it, you get what you pay for! I do hope we are able to visit again in the not-too-distant future. A serious place to reset and recharge your batteries.

Our stay could not have been better. We were on our honeymoon and were extremely well looked after by all of the staff at the resort. The staff members could not be more helpful and were a pleasure to deal with at all times. The food was absolutely delicious in all three restaurants and in particular the staff in Javuu went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best possible experience for meals. The over water villa was amazing and kept immaculate by house keeping throughout our stay who were efficient and discreet. Two minor defects in the room were dealt with immediately without delay. We used the spa, dive centre and went on the dolphin tour all of which were fantastic. Overall, this was the best hotel experience we have ever had and we will definitely be back!

Great villas! Comfortable and spacious. Beautiful island with bike and walking trails to all the amenities. It was such a fun experience to be there. Great snorkeling right off some of the over water villas. The food was delicious with many styles and desserts and plenty of fresh fruit. The staff was very nice as well!

A sublime week at the Shangri-La Villingili resort — we couldn’t have asked for a more untroubled, relaxing stay. It seemed we didn’t have to think about anything from the time we arrived to the time we had to (sadly) leave. The island itself is paradise and more interesting given the size compared to others. The bikes are great (but need a little maintenance) and we thoroughly enjoyed our daily cycles around the tracks. The water villas are stunning - roomy, extremely well laid out with first class amenities. The food in all restaurants was of exceptional quality and the service friendly and professional. Also enjoyed many a beautiful sunset relaxing at the M-Lounge bar. I enjoyed 4 days of excellent diving with the very professional and knowledgeable team. All in all, the best!
