Sankhamul Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that connects Patan with Kathmandu. It is a popular crossing point for locals, especially from Patan Durbar Square and the Baneshwor. The bridge is known for being narrow but busy, used by pedestrians, bicycles, and occasionally motorbikes. Nearby, there's local shops, small eateries, and temples, and it's a common route for daily commuters. The bridge also provides a close-up view of the Bagmati River and nearby ghats used for cultural and religious ceremonies.

It is the bridge 🌉 that connects kathmandu and lalitpur...... It was built long back ago that's why we can see narrow passage which prohibite four wheeler to pass by....... Plus: 1. One can observe view of bagmati river 2. There is a curved edge in the bridge itself from where friends can stand and chit_chat observing beautiful sun set 3.near this bridge there is few cafe for ship of tea and puff of cigarettes.... 😉 Minus: 1. Bridge isn't painted which makes it look filthy...☹️ 2. Bagmati river is polluted.... Bad smell sometimes reach the view observant... Compared to past river is getting cleaner but there is a long way to go 3. Since there is no traffic management here.. At peak hours... One may stuck in the jam......

The place is absolute beauty, with the river getting cleaner every coming days , nice roads along the river , Higher authorities need to ban bikes and any form of transport along the small bridge and leave it for pedestrians to enjoy the time around .. There is new parks and amazing white sankha built , around gives a total different angle for this heritage place to enjoy ...

This bridge acts as a shortcut from Patan to Baneshwor. However, only two-wheelers are allowed through here. There is a park below this bridge which is recently maintained.
