The water is warm, the beach is clean. The recommendation go early because the parking lot is small.

Nice facilities, small beach, lake water is temperate and seemed clean. Beautiful for a sunset evening at the beach

SO MANY DOGS OFF LEASH. With ENTITLED humans behind them. …and a bunch of dead fish that sat there for like 5 days. So many people- bacteria skyrocketed in the water- loud music and charcoal grills everywhere - people parking in handicap spots - drinking and trash everywhere ZERO ENFORCEMENT

I enjoy visiting Shannon beach. It a childhood memories. The beach is clean, well maintained. But,I do have one rave. I visited the beach earlier this week, it was pretty full. Lot's of people swimming. I did notice the lifeguard chairs had been empty all day. I arrived around 12ish and left at6:30pm. The four or five that were there were not doing their jobs. They weren't even looking/facing the beach area. If there had been an unexspected accident , none of those kids would have been prepared or responsible Most of the time on their phones, laughing, goofing off and loudly swearing. I hope these kids aren't getting a pay check for doing absolute nothing 😕. Concerned citizen

Parking lot was closed for being “full” but was half empty. The park worker on duty was just sitting in his car scrolling instead of doing his job. MA DCR, do better. Also almost got hit by the state trooper whipping out of the parking lot entrance. Seems like the workers here prefer to chat rather than work.

Nice beach, nice water. However, it was 2pm and the lifeguards announced “THE WATER HAS TESTED HIGH IN BACTERIA, THERE IS NO SWIMMING” Shouldn’t you have done this in the morning before everyone was already swimming?

The Saturday 1:00 PM parking attendant isn’t actively monitoring available space in the parking lot (half parking spaces were available), so we were forced turn around and go home. :( Public amenities here don’t seem to actually open to the public.
