The tourist market is more than just a corridor housing all Egyptian products and sophisticated Nubian folklore. Rather, it is an integrated market where you can find everything you could hope to find.

If you are in Aswan you have to enjoy a shopping walk through this traditional souq. You will can find lot of kinds of Spices, clothes, incense, touristic souvenirs, traditional Chaffees and restaurants. Most of the people in Aswan also in the Bazar are very kindly and trustful but you suppose to hassle till 30 % of the first price told by the seller.

It's a local market and pretty much has the same things around. Be very careful of the shops selling you bottles of oil. They will talk nicely and tell you umpteen benefits of the oil. If you don't check what you buy they will handover empty bottles to you. We bought two erica and jajoba and got duped of 100EGP. check if the bottles even have oil in them!

Lively, colorful, and full of local charm Sharia as-Souq (the tourist market) in Aswan is a must-visit if you want to experience the city’s authentic vibe. I walked through it during my last visit in winter, and it was such a vibrant and enjoyable place. The street is lined with shops selling everything from Nubian handicrafts, scarves, spices, and natural products to souvenirs, perfumes, and traditional clothing. The market is clean, easy to walk through, and has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Most vendors were polite and not overly pushy, which made shopping more enjoyable. I especially loved the colorful Nubian items and the fresh karkadeh (hibiscus) sold in many stalls. You can find great gifts at fair prices if you’re willing to negotiate a little — which is all part of the fun! I recommend visiting in the afternoon or early evening when it's lively but not too hot. Whether you’re looking to shop or just soak in the local culture, Sharia as-Souq is a great place to explore in Aswan.

Very interesting and authentic market place for genuine and local handicraft of carpets, medals, statues and others. You can also find high quality local spices, dates, and others at good prices. Local costume are available every where. The market is a long pedestrian street, mostly shaded extends from the railway station all the way South for approximately 1 kilometer. Several cafes are dispersed along the street.

nice place good stuff loads of stuff to buy be careful from Pick pocketing , we saw kids are trained to come and hug you and they try to put hands in your pockets or purse , everyone wants to sell your something no cards accepted bargain as much as you can coz as soon as they see a person from outside egypt the prices are doubled 1 hour is enough to look at the market .

Not much, compared to Cairo market. As always, heavy negotiations is needed. Even when you are offering 30% of what they have asked for, you are probably near the realistic price. Sometimes it takes more time then you would want to, but look at it as part of the experience.
