My homeland 🇯🇲 I would give this place a five out of five. It’s a very popular spot, and the food is absolutely delicious. Every single thing we ate was so good. The service was amazing and we absolutely loved our waitress. She was so nice and made us laugh. The atmosphere is beautiful since it’s right on the beach, and I would definitely recommend trying this place.

If you are ever in Jamaica & looking for some good seafood. Check this spot out. I went to Sharkies Seafood Restaurant for my birthday. I give this place a 10/10 for the view and atmosphere, however I'll give the cuisine an 8/10. I got shrimp tacos 8/10🍤, pepper shrimp 8/10🦐, lobster tail 7/10🦞, & the seafood boil 6/10 🦀 it was very salty. I was ecstatic when I managed to obtain a couple seashells 🐚. After that, I returned to the resort, had some desert, and spent the night by the shore. The view was stunning.

Note: You can use credit card. Speaking as someone who was on the resort, Sharkies was highly recommended by our taxi driver to reset our palates. We purchased five drinks, large fish with rice and peas, two plantains, one order of festival, and seafood pasta for $86 USD (with a 15% gratuity factored in. That’s good because so much industry in this area is based on tips, which can be tough). The fish was large and spicy. The food was generally solid but I would prefer there be a lot of sauce in the entrees. We ordered for take out and it took 45 minutes due to how many people were there.

Well, the atmosphere is perfect..the food was excellent..My only issue, once I received the bill, I saw an automatic $500 for service..If im paying for the food..shouldn't getting the food be a part of the deal..Also, why is this not communicated upfront..? Let us know so we are aware..As a person who is always tipping as I am from a tipping culture..It was rather disappointing to see this on the invoice also, having not had it communicated prior. For that, you lose points off the service. While I understand Jamaica is not that of a tipping culture, tipping should not be mandatory, it should not be forced on those choosing to dine at the restaurant..Tipping should still be a choice not something forced onto the patrons. Otherwise, simply add the amount as a part of the food and let us make informed decisions about whether we dine or whether we want to eat or drink a particular food. That was a huge turn off and while I had planned to tip.. my bill which was just under $7000 jamaican dollars, received no additional tip. This practice of adding the service charge to the bill and also not communicating same is unacceptable! And this is coming from someone who frequently tips and tips handsomely some times 100% or in excess of same. This again is UNACCEPTABLE!

Great dining experience at Sharkies! The food takes some time for prepping but was so amazing and the music from the DJ was a pure vibe. Plus, you can chill on the beach right after which I definitely enjoyed. My server provided excellent service too.

One star is too generous, if I could give them zero stars I would. If you are an American tourist, stay away from this place as they discriminate against anyone who is not a local. While on vacation, my family and I were told that Sharkies was the best place to get fresh seafood off the resort. The entire experience was terrible. Upon our arrival, we were seated in an outside area. It took forever for a server to come over and even acknowledge us. The server had a terrible attitude and clearly did not want to serve us. We were able to place appetizers and drink orders but then it started to rain. We literally had to move ourselves to the upstairs seating area to get out of the rain, as none of the servers were concerned that we were seated outside or tried to move us. After receiving our appetizers/drinks, we waited 30 minutes for a server to come take our food orders, which never happened. Our group decided to leave because it was clear that our business was not wanted. Upon us leaving, we saw that two groups that arrived well after us were being served and had gotten their food. We dipped out and didn’t look back.

I had the curry lobster and pepper shrimp. The food was absolutely amazing. I will definitely visit again. I really enjoyed my food and was full after.

I used to love this place — my first visit a year or two ago was amazing. This time though, not so much. The BBQ wings were still great, but the seafood soup had a piece of scotch bonnet hidden in it that burned my whole mouth. I tried to let it slide, but when my seafood boil came out with like five more pieces peppers in it, I couldn’t even eat it. When I sent it back, the staff acted like it was funny. Not cool. I’m Jamaican too, and I get we love spice, but not to the point where the food is inedible. My sister’s escovitch fish was overcooked, and I saw someone else sending their food back too. Definitely makes you wonder what’s going on in the kitchen. Server was nice but didn’t seem to care much about the issues. Also, heads up — bring cash because there’s an extra tax to use your card. Really disappointed because I used to love coming here.
