Sharma Ji Ki Chai is one of the most talked-about tea joints in Lucknow, but honestly, I feel it’s a bit overhyped now. Maybe it used to taste better earlier—I’m not sure whether it’s because of growing demand or consistency issues—but the tea didn’t live up to the hype for me. It’s decent, but definitely not something extraordinary that people claim it to be.
That said, the samosas are the real star here. They are absolutely delicious—very tangy, slightly khaatta, and full of flavour. The round shape of the samosa is quite unique, and the taste is something you’ll genuinely enjoy. If there’s one thing worth eating here, it’s definitely the samosas.
The place is centrally located near Hazratganj and is almost always crowded, especially mornings and evenings. Prices are affordable, and hygiene is decent for a street-side tea stall. Bun makhan is also popular here, but apart from samosas, most items feel average to me.
One thing I must say—if you visit on a winter morning, the experience changes completely. Watching the sunrise right in front of Sharma Ji Ki Chai stall, sipping chai, and soaking in that old Lucknow vibe feels really nice. It’s a great spot to make some nostalgic, old-school vibe videos.
As for tea lovers—if you’ve ever tried jaggery tea from Amrutulya franchises in Maharashtra, you’ll probably find that more satisfying than this chai.
Overall, I’d say:
✔️ Visit once for the nostalgia and samosas
❌ Don’t expect mind-blowing tea
🌅 Winter mornings make it special
Good for the vibe, great for samosas—but the chai itself didn’t impress me as much as the hype suggests.
