Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel (Doha, Qatar) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Sharq Village & Spa sits just outside Doha’s center, but feels like a world away. Modeled after a traditional Qatari village, the whitewashed villas, shaded courtyards, and palm-lined paths create a sense of calm that is rare this close to the city. Rooms are airy and richly detailed, with carved wood, brocade curtains, and terraces that look out over the gardens, pool, or sea. The private beach is natural, the spa expansive, and the mood, whether at sundown by the main pool or over dates in the lobby, deeply atmospheric." - Tablet Hotels

Layout very nice, rooms nice, breakfast ok but nothing special. Biggest let down is some of the staff. Some are nice and friendly, others don’t make you feel like you’re a guest in a hotel and just poor service. ||Three examples:||On arrival, no real welcome - you have to serve yourself from the coffee.||At breakfast, no effort to accommodate or be helpful. Told to wait outside while waiting for an outdoor table instead of accommodating inside until a table became available. After a while I asked to be sat inside while waiting, then moved to a slightly larger table and told our food would be moved across - it wasn’t. Honestly felt like a restaurant with poor service. ||Kids went into jacuzzi, not knowing an adult must be with them. The lifeguard asked them to leave, they did but they also asked why they weren’t, instead of answering he started shouting. ||At pool, towel stands unmanned, and difficult to find someone to get you a towel/water. ||Some staff were pleasant but overall left feeling staff trained far below other Bonvoy/Ritz-Carlton hotels. ||In summary, good facilities but poor hospitality.

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been carefully thought through to ensure a truly exceptional experience. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the amenities were not only abundant but of very high quality. Our room reflected this perfectly—beautifully maintained, comfortable, and designed with great attention to detail. What truly set this hotel apart was the outstanding level of customer service. The staff were consistently caring, warm, and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. A special mention goes to Muhammad Arif, who looked after us at the pool bar and lunch area. His attention to detail was remarkable—he remembered exactly how I liked my mocktail and never forgot that we preferred our food spicy. These thoughtful gestures made us feel genuinely valued and added a personal touch to our stay. We would also like to sincerely thank John, the bell boy, who assisted us with our luggage and kindly gave us a detailed tour of the property, helping us feel oriented and welcomed right away. Additionally, John at the reception made both our check-in and check-out processes seamless and incredibly comfortable, setting the tone for a stress-free and enjoyable stay from start to finish. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and welcoming, allowing us to truly unwind. Leaving was honestly heartbreaking, as we had grown so comfortable and happy during our time there. We would absolutely love to return again soon and highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking exceptional service, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality.

Fantastic staff made us feel super welcome, got early checkin and more importantly I felt like they really tried to accommodate me, upgraded room as a titanium elite, I felt the warmth and extra effort. Room was ofcourse phenomenal, super comfortable and extra spacious. The decor was top notch all the way around and evething was spotless, you can see people cleaning around the clock. Breakfast was ample and good not extraordinary which I was hoping for given the Ritz name and perhaps my only critique. Pools were expansive and never felt crowded. The beach is superb with excellent views of downtown Doha. Everyone was ultra attentive and the beachside drinks were extra alcoholic! The hotel lobby is stunning and the piano player added to the vibe. Again all the staff were superb. Everything is a 5$ usd Uber ride away. This was worth it.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. From the hotel service, to the beautiful hotel to the spa services to the lovely reception, I don’t have 1 thing to complain about. Even the food was amazing at Al Liwaan. ||All amenities were available. There was even an iron and an ironing board included in the room. ||The scenery of the hotel was stunning and everything was close by. The cleaners and workers were extremely polite and nice.||For what you’re paying, you’re getting much more. Even the swimming pool and the beach were fantastic.||The whole atmosphere in general was heavenly.

I will start by saying that our stay at Sharq Village, Ritz-Carlton Hotel was quite simply the best vacation I have ever had. While the location, facilities, and overall quality of the property are outstanding, the defining factor of our experience was, without question, the Guest Relations Team. I organised this trip as part of my mother’s recovery from cancer. Prior to our arrival, I received an email from Guest Relations, and I shared with them the reason for our visit. What followed was an act of kindness and thoughtfulness that neither of us will ever forget. When we arrived at the hotel, my mother found her bedroom beautifully prepared with flowers, balloons, and a cake—all in pink, the colour symbolising cancer survivorship. She was completely overwhelmed. She had not expected any special treatment, let alone something so heartfelt, tasteful, and emotionally meaningful. From that moment on, the entire holiday exceeded all expectations. The hotel itself is stunning. The property offers everything one could need to relax and truly disconnect: exceptional restaurants, beautiful swimming pools, and a serene waterfront setting. We were generously upgraded to an apartment-style suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and three balconies—it was spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. The location is also ideal, positioned perfectly between the city and the airport and close to the National Museum of Qatar (an absolute must-see). This made it easy to explore Doha while still enjoying a peaceful retreat, and ensured a smooth departure at the end of our stay. That said, as wonderful as the hotel is, it is ultimately just a building. What transformed it into a warm, safe, and home-like space was the people—specifically the Guest Relations Team. Their attention to detail, genuine care, and constant (yet never intrusive) check-ins made us feel truly looked after. Every need was anticipated, every request handled with grace. They turned what could have been just a hotel stay into a deeply personal and memorable family vacation. I would like to acknowledge several team members who made a lasting impression on us: Anisha at check-in, Bander, Lili, Agustina, Diana, Ahmad, Yalda, and Filippo, one of the breakfast managers. Each of them contributed to an experience that was consistently warm, professional, and exceptional. However, there is one person I would like to single out. Mrs. Rail Lucas gave far more than 100% every single day. Our stay—and indeed the entire trip—would not have been the same without her. She met with us daily, ensured we had everything we needed, organised our dinners, recommended places to visit in the city, and always made time for a conversation, despite managing many other guests. She made us feel genuinely special, while continuously crediting her team rather than herself. In my professional life, I manage a large team, and I recognise true leadership when I see it. Mrs. Rail is a natural leader and an exceptional team player. What sets her apart is her sincerity. In hospitality, it is not uncommon for managers to act in ways designed to elicit positive feedback—but Mrs. Rail was different. She genuinely cared. Her kindness, patience, and authenticity were evident in every interaction, and she never once made the experience about herself. If you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village in Doha, I truly hope you have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Rail. If you do, please say hello from me. And to Mrs. Rail directly: You made my mother smile again—and that is the greatest gift I could ever ask for. Thank you.

I am torn on this one. Location is lovely, right on the beach, 15 mins from airport and beautiful views from beach and pool area. Parisa restaurant is excellent with great service and lovely food. Door staff are very efficient and friendly. Hotel in my opionion lacks atmosphere. It s very arabian in design which is really nice, however something is missing. We had an issue when we arrived with our room type, and after an 8 hr flight and a different time zone, we did not need the unhelpful attitude of the check in staff. We arrived close to midnight, exhausted, and had to argue with the front desk staff to get the room we had booked, eventually after 40 mins they found a room. We were told the hotel was complety full and our room type was not available, so not my problem!! Never in all my stays in Hotels have I come across an attitude like this, we were completly taken aback, and it wasnt until I said we would contact our travel agent to see what was going on that they sorted out the issue. We were contacted the following evening by a guest relations manager, however the damage had been done at that stage. I feel the staff here are not trained as well compared to other Doha Hotels, breakfast was rushed and food quality only fair. We were a little disappointed , maybe my expectations were too high, as most reviews are all very good. I dont know if I would return, maybe the night staff were having a bad night, the night we arrived.

⸻ I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding – every request I had was handled quickly, professionally, and always with a smile. The food was also amazing, with great variety and high quality at every meal. A special thank you to Mr. Meloni in the restaurant for his exceptional hospitality and attention to detail, and to Ms. Sonia for her kindness and wonderful service. They both made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back again. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The staff here were very friendly and welcoming, especially the concierge. They were always happy to help. The swimming pools were a nice temperature and were big. The beach had lovely beds, although you did have to pay for certain ones. The sea was warm but there were pieces of rubbish. You were not allowed in the sea after 5pm as that was when the lifeguard left. The view of the city was lovely. There were also lots of things for children, like a scavenger hunt that resulted in a prize. Overall, I loved this hotel and would definitely come back.
