One very large and BEAUTIFUL lake!!! Even on the long July 4th holiday weekend, with all floating rentals from all marinas booked and on the lake, you almost felt like you were alone out there!!! There's a lot of good things to do both on and off the lake.

A wonderful recreational area for the families and friends to get together. This is my second trip in 20+ years, it changed quite a lot. Last time, four families spent a weekend on a houseboat in July 2001. Now the houseboat becomes grand and luxurious, with three decks and 10 rooms, like a mini cruise ship! I will visit again with families!

My family spends weekends here. Heck we even go after work. Fishing is typically awesome. Water temps get bathtub comfy in summer. The lake is HUGE so you can easily get away from other humans

Shasta Lake is the Keystone of the Central Valley Project. 365 miles of Shoreline and lots of great Recreation,, from fishing to boating... skiing to camping it's got it all. Although the lake was built for flood control and generates a lot of power that's sure my favorite place for Recreation.

This is a beautiful lake. We rode a boat across while experiencing the Shasta Lake Caverns tour. They offer house boat rentals, which I hear is a great time! Lake is actually this color! Water is very cold in April but I hear it’s as warm as bath water in hot Summer months.
