Shaw County Park

Lovely, quiet small park. Shaw Island is a gem as is this park in particular. The sites are rustic and they don't allow RVs (there isn't room!) so there's no generators running. The beach is amazing and the rangers are friendly and low key.

I love this park, but on Tuesday night a cruise ship parks adjacent shines it’s harmful light pollution right at our campsites blocking the stars. But what is worse is the generators are running all night or the engines and it is if you are camping right next to an RV running their engines it is a very high-pitched sound and they do that all night until almost daybreak.

Great little campground with a nice sandy beach with a very shallow boat ramp. Water was not as good as in previous years, so it's good to bring your own. Very quiet, with a nice picnic shelter available for day use. Firewood available for purchase. Offshore mooring available. Washington Marine Trail campsite, bicycle campsite and group campsites available. Vault toilets only. No electricity available.

Paddled here as part of the Cascadia Marine Trail. In late September, we were the only people in the entire campground (including car powered!). The tide goes ridiculously far out at low tide. The campground itself was clean. Several spots for kayak access tents in a larger shared space. A bit of a walk up from the beach but no more than 5 minutes. Water was provided and a pit toilet. The view is pretty solid of the bay with a small walk and all in all a super peaceful night and happy memories!

Our family has been visiting Shaw since the 80's, and I have always seen it as a magical place. The sand is warm, the waves are peaceful, the trees are like old friends.

Nice beach! There aren't many sandy beaches around here.

We had a great time- kayaked over to Lopez island for a bit & around the nearby bays. Clean camping grounds.
