Shaw’s General Store is the perfect blend of nostalgia and practicality. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the warm atmosphere of an old-fashioned general store combined with a modern twist. Their selection of outdoor gear and clothing is top-notch, and I was thrilled to find brands like Pendleton and Patagonia alongside unique Vermont souvenirs. I also loved their collection of rustic home goods and gifts—it’s the kind of place where you can find something for everyone. The staff were friendly, offering recommendations and sharing the store’s rich history. I left with a cozy fleece jacket and some adorable maple syrup-themed gifts for my family. This store is a treasure in downtown Stowe and a must-visit for anyone in the area

This place had a lot of interesting souvenirs to peruse including maple syrup items, magnets, postcards, clothing and more. When I came back in I learned the difference between maple syrup and that was so interesting! The staff were nice and friendly! The prices were reasonable considering the destination. I definitely left with a few gifts to take back home!

The staff are extremely helpful and kind. While the store does have a ramp to enter the staff are able to get a ramp for a small power chair. The store has some excellent goodies and able to enjoy what Stowe has to offer.

There is something very special about a local business that has been in existence since 1895. That being said the store is filled with great outdoor gear and one of my favorite items, shoes. The staff is wonderful and laid back yet really knowledgeable about their products which is why I decided to buy a great pair of Dansko clogs because Alex explained to me the added comfort of the professional style. Loved how the staff was treated to an ice cream break which I just loved seeing how everyone in this store seems to enjoy their jobs. Support small businesses as they are the lifeline of their community. Thankful to shop in your wonderful store!!

Solid gift shop in Main Street! Lots of variety and selection to choose from. Prices are typical tourist prices. I got a sweatshirt, magnet, and stickers.

Shaw's General Store is a Stowe institution founded in 1895. Everyone can find something here to take back home. An eclectic mix of souvenirs, gifts, toys, t-shirts, sneakers, hiking boots, winter apparel, Vermont maple syrup products, gadgets. Fun stuff. We often just browse throughout the different aisles and discover new items. Have a great day!

The store is cute and has lots of fun items. Their clothes are a little on the pricey side but I appreciate the quality of their t-shirts and sweatshirts. The weight is just right and they last.

Really unique, fun all-around 'General Store'! Awesome place, holds the town together and is perfect for window-browsing as it has the best, detailed displays including tools, throws, toys, cans, clothes, sports items and dining things.. It's a one-block massive building worth a visit. Review: 5

This retro style upscale general store is located in the heart of Stowe's quaint New England village. We were originally going to drive through this town, but decided to stop, specifically for this store as I had spotted the sale rack outdoors! Prices are a little steep, but there are some bargains. I got a really cute Stowe t-shirt on clearance for $10, which isn't TOO bad. They have a really great assortment of anything from onesies to apparel for the whole family. I liked the hat selection too! They do of course sell maple related souvenirs like cookies, syrup and candies. Always a popular souvenir to pick up for yourself or someone back home. Other items for sale included jewelry, decorative pillows, wall decor, mugs, backpacks and more. Nice selection of shoes, but you will pay a pretty penny! A lot of them are perfect for the activities of this area though. They sell Keen hiking boots, sneakers and sandals. I am a huge fan of this brand! There is also a small selection of well made socks, some would be great for skiing. In addition to the sale racks out front, there were more reduced items in the basement.

Cool gift shop if you're browsing from out of town you can find some really neat local gifts and things here of all shapes and sizes. Take your time, you could spend a day here.

kindness goes a long way in our world - it's certainly what we expect when we escape to Vermont - despite three attempts at grace in Shaw's We'd have to demur - with over $150 of goods in ours hands, painstakingly chosen, we had to just leave it on the counter and depart. The unkind behavior of the counter staff in the store forced our hand. We don't know what was going on in their days, but feel they needn't take it out on us. hoping the week to come brings them brighter tidings

Was expecting a crappy tourist shop but this place was cute af and had some super high quality items! Blundstones and Birkenstock's! Cashmere scarves (for only $22)!!!

Shaw's General Store has been serving the Stowe community and tourists alike for over 100 years! Since 1895...jeezle-peete's! If that's not reason enough to pay homage to this store then let me tell you this, Shaw's is much fancier than my hometown general store. Of course they have the tourist faves like maple candy, cheese and syrups but they also have high end clothing, Vermont made art, and as you can tell by the shoe pictures, a wide variety of everything you need to hike New England. I wouldn't call it a "general store" as it's much more of a boutique of sorts. I'm sure it used to be back in the day before they invented 18 different kinds of fleece lined boots. Nonetheless a fun store to venture around in. We got some maple candy for my mom and it was great.

I walked into Shaw's General Store today not expecting to start my day off angry. I asked the salespeople at the front if they had any ponchos for sale. The woman's response was where the ponchos always are, in the front! I'm sorry, was I supposed to know that it was at the front of the store behind a black pole? I guess it's common knowledge. If that's not enough, I overheard the salesman in the front of the store making fun of the way my son was dressed. I'm sorry but my son has some disabilities, and if putting on a dragon ball Z jacket, and a fortnight hat makes him happy, than so be it. I told him that he really shouldn't critique the way people dress, it's rude. It took ever ounce of energy out of me not to go full papa bear on the jerk. I will never step foot in the store again. They don't deserve my business or anyone else's.

This is one of those stores where you think you're going to drop in for a few minutes just to look around but then you end up walking out with a good buy or a unique find. I first visited the store several years ago during autumn and picked up some really cute Xmas decor. More recently I stopped in during a ski trip and got a new winter coat, snow pants, two hats and two pairs of boots as the store had winter items on sale for end of season. Very nice service in the shoe section and attractive, reasonable prices. Totally recommend as a must stop when in the area.

I am so glad that we stumbled upon this store. This was a large store with a wide variety of souvenirs. They have almost anything you can think of: stickers, key chains, maple products, clothing, and games. We were also given service with a smile. We asked the employee loads of questions about items and she was super friendly and able to answer our questions. It was definitely worth the stop!

Small store that sells souvenirs including clothe and stickers. Lots of items here but hours are not very long,mostly open till 5 or 6 pm daily including on Sunday's. Located In beautiful Stowe,Vermont. Very nice area this store was establish in the 1800s Price vary but affordable for anyone,check it out when in town.

Shaw's has been family-owned for over 100 years. Here you can find apparel for adults and children, Vermont gifts, and a small toy and game section for the kids. The downstairs of the shop is devoted to Life is Good brand apparel. Like many of the shops in Stowe Village, the clothing here is a bit pricey.

You can't go to Stowe and skip this place. This is the place to go if you forgot to pack something or just want some great local paraphenalia. I got the greatest mustard of all time here (huge mustard fan). Horseradish maple mustard. YUM. I finished the jar in about two weeks. Stop by and grab some stuff!

Fun selection of items. From tourist goods to outdoor high end clothing. Very nice and helpful staff. Amazing that this place has been owned and operated by the same family for 120 years. This place is a gem

This was an awesome little (actually rather big) store to find just about anything you may want to take back home with you on your visit. All sorts of things to be found here, including that Vermont Maple Syrup which the wife and I stocked up on. If you're in the area you really should stop and check this place out. But allot some time as there's a lot to see.

If you are looking for souvenir t-shirts, H.E. Shaw has a pretty good selection. If there is no parking behind the building, then go to the back of the white church a little ways down the road. Back there, you will see a driveway that goes down a hill. Go that way. Free parking is down there, along with some nice water sounds from the nearby creek.

Shaw's should be on any visitors list when in Stowe. The staff is great and can tell you about the area. They have a better selection of souvenir t-shirts and Made in Vermont items than other places in the area. A good bet for those forgotten items like swim suits, gloves, balaclavas, etc. Centrally located in historic Stowe.

My husband has been looking for a very specific type of glove - and , with the help of one of the staff, he was able to find what he was looking for! Yeah! A bit more pricey than he wanted to pay - but after looking for so long he bit the bullet and bought them. Store is crowded with all kinds of stuff - definition of a general store!

Love shopping in mom and pop stores! Of you need it they have it, if they don't have you don't need it. I promise you that! The atmosphere is great, beautiful old fashioned buildings with modern amenities.

If you stop by Stowe, this is a place you won't want to miss. A huge collection of shoes, memorabilia, souvenirs, and toys, all serviced by very friendly staff.

If you are in the town of Stowe, you feel the need to stop into their "general store" right? This isn't exactly what I had in mind in terms of what a general store has to offer, and it defintely plays to the tourist crowd. A decent selection of higher end men's women's and children's clothing, shoes, accessories,. etc., somewhat pricey but not over the top. Your typical selection of Stowe t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. and other Vermont souveniers.

You must come here if you visit Stowe, VT. You can find so many things ranging from maple mustard to Stowe tee shirts. It's right in the center of Stowe. You can't miss it!

Great deals, good selection. Everything from ski and water gear to homemade soaps. The taffy was super fresh and tasty. You can rent sleds too!

We were in Stowe for thanksgiving, I thought the shopping would be more plentiful, but we did stop at H.E. Shaw General Store. Tons of overpriced stuff, but Hubby got a Kuhle jacket and I got a darling Wooly Bully sweater coat. Both reasonably priced. The store was packed, but did not seem to have a lot of people purchasing things. The clerk was less than friendly. We do recommend if you are looking for a wide array of outer wear! Outerwear is my hubby's favorite thing so he was in heaven in this store!
